A Fire Relit and a Heart Thawed

Well here's the new chapter, I am now committed to a plot so it should be easier to write from now on, Thanks again for PB doing the Reviews if anyone else can please do I'd appreciate the comments and woo First two followers thanks a lot RealitySyn and domstar123 for reading am i hope to keep you enticed with the story for a good while to come.

Finn ran and ran as fast as he can. He had to get there before it was too late; of all the times to not be prepared it had to be now. He was almost there when someone appeared before him. She had short black hair, beautiful sleek skin. She wore small simple crown on her head and wore a long graceful red dress. The most defining feature of this woman however was the amazing white wings that grew from her back. She smiled as Finn approached and tried to speak to him.

"I'm here to help Finn, hear my voice and-"

Suddenly she was cut off by the hoot of a familiar yet unwanted golden owl. Cosmic Owl stared down at them both from the sky. He told Finn to run, to keep running and never stop. Death was coming. Finn looked back at the woman and she was gone in fact everything was gone and all that was left was a dark gruesome laugh; the Lich's laugh.

Lumen held a sponge to Finn's head trying to both bring down the Human's swelling and his abnormal temperature. "If he only bumped his head why is he like this? What's keeping him in this dream" Lumen pondered as FP re-entered the room. She had gone out to get her servants to get Finn and his friend some food and bandages.

"You keep that stuff here? How comes?"

"Well I wanted to be prepared… for Finn's sake…" she had replied before going to her chamber door to relieve her servants of the supplies.

"So Pervert-"

"Lumen…"

"Yes so Lumen how is he? What's wrong with him? Why hasn't he woken up? Did he talk about me a lot? Wait no… I mean… I don't know…" She collapsed in the corner sighing deeply, "how can I be asking stupid things like that when Finn is like this?"

Lumen let the Princess take in the situation before going to sit against the wall with her. Unlike the first time she had felt him beside her she was quite welcome for the company of the stranger.

"He didn't talk much about you-" FP's face fell at Lumen's comment so he sped up his statement to avoid upsetting the elemental. "-but I could see in his eyes that he missed you a great deal, he told me your story and of his mistake. He would stare at the fire and fall asleep next to it. I even once saw inside his soul and you'll be happy to know inside there he holds you dear, down to every fibre of that man's body you are his princess. He may not be able to move or talk at the moment but I have a feeling he is doing all he can to get back to you. It's my fault he's like this I was too busy in my own mind to notice we had stopped. I'm sorr-"

"Stop right there. This is no one's fault it was an accident so stop it, thank you for what you've said it's help calm my heart a great deal and thank you for bringing him back to me L… Lu… Pervert"

Lumen decided for the time being he was just going to let the Princesses nickname for him slide, it wasn't important at the moment.

"Lady of the flames, I told you before this that is a mission of great importance to my kingdom and that I was here to build good relationships with other kingdoms. Maybe I could go one step further and be your friend and listen to that heart as I have a feeling you have something you want to say."

"That obvious huh? Well I was actually waiting for Finn today- I mean I wait for him most days- but today was going to be the last day I waited, I made a bet with destiny to see if our love was true and here he comes tumbling into my life again" Lumen smiled at the Princesses unintentional pun and gestured for her to continue. "I never stopped liking Finn and I regretted leaving like I did, he avoided me and thought he had failed me but I failed him. I… I… I can't do this. I can't." Lumen once again let the light leave his body and fill the room. The princess was startled for a moment before feeling the rays of light against her skin. Suddenly these 3 words didn't feel so hard to say, they felt right. "I Love Him".

"Then why don't you go tell him that?"

"What's the point? He can't hear me like that?"

"You never heard the fairy tales about a loved ones kiss waking up the sleeping beauty?"

"But they were all princesses and they were saved by their handsome prince?"

"Tad sexist, if you ask me? Let's set an example for all the generations to come when we tell them about the ravishing fire princess that kissed her sleeping hero prince and woke him from his troubled sleep?"

FP blushed at the humans comment and suggestion. "Why not? I've spent the last few years trying to change the way the world sees us why not take that a step further?" As she finished that thought she took a step closer to Finn, he was still asleep on her bed where Lumen had put him to treat his wound. She stepped as close as she could, leant closer, held his hand and then met his lips with hers. It was at that time the flame shield ran out.

Finn's eyes shot open to meet Flame Princesses amber ones, he took a minute to take in the situation, and there was his one true love… right in front of him… KISSING HIM. Finn put his hands to her cheeks and drew her in to a deep embrace. He felt complete like he had died and gone to heaven. He took a mental picture of the embrace and stored it in a special part of his inner vault. The part he treasured. He was about to draw her in closer when he felt a wave of cool wash over him and watched as FP's eyes widened in shock and jumped away from him.

"FINN I'M SORRY WE NEED TO GET YOU OUT OF HERE! PERVERT, HELP ME SAVE HIM BEFORE HE BURNS TO DEATH!" She screamed as loud as she could. Finn shot up all he had heard was the words "FINN… PERVERT… HELP ME" He grabbed FP and put his body in front of hers to face the 'pervert'.

He stared puzzled at Lumen's face as the prince failed to hold back his laughter. He literally fell back to the floor giggling to himself; Finn felt he had missed something somehow.

"PERVERT WHAT ARE YOU DOING HE WILL DI-"

"FP calm down, just listen to me" Finn said quickly pulling her close to him. She looked at his hands and expected to see burnt blistered skin but instead saw nothing but the peachy glow the Hero had to him. She was stunned. How could he not be burnt? He didn't even seem like the temperature bothered him? Was she dreaming? Had this all been that blasted Owl's last joke at her expense? She pushed him away and started to pinch herself.

"Whoa FP just calm down and listen. I'm okay like I'm so math it's unreal and you don't need to worry about me getting burnt I'm kinda fire proof now." FP stared at him "fireproof?" That had been the words he had used? He couldn't be hurt by fire anymore? She had to know and once again pulled Finn in for a kiss. This one was returned straight away however as the lovers embraced deepened. Finn wrapped his arms around her waist and tried to pull her as close to him as physically possible. She wrapped her arms around his neck. Their embrace continued getting more and more passionate… Until… that feeling returned. She quickly pushed him away not wanting him to get hurt this time; fire proof may have its limits she thought as she prepared for her matrix to explode. She closed her eyes feeling her elemental matrix getting hotter and hotter with each second.

She waited for the inevitable.

And kept waiting…

But nothing came.

She opened her eyes and looked at the Princes, Finn had a confused look on his eyes, and she didn't blame him she had just interrupted an important moment between them… twice. Her eyes fell to the other Prince in the room, there were beads of sweat rolling down his head as he took harsh and deep breaths in looking like he had just experienced some sort of ordeal. He went to stand but stumbled; he was caught by Finn and sat on the bed.

"What did you just do Pervert? How did you stop it?"

"Stop what" Finn asked looking from one individual to the other.

"My elemental matrix… It was about to go off again like the time in the woods, I pushed you away to protect you holding it back and waited for it to go uncontrollable but it never came. I have a feeling the pervert did something to stop it but I have no idea how"

"Well… I… I… I tried a new spell… I designed it originally to make things… fire proof… but I felt the rise in heat and the darkness within you grow… so I used the spell to seal the heat and it also sealed the darkness…" He struggled to get this out while taking deeper breaths and coughing violently.

"The darkness…. within me?"

"Yes… it seems someone… I don't know how… put something in your matrix… it was there so you would lose control… It was dark… evil… and I could see it through your light… I used your shadow to seal it off however… and now it's gone…" he started to cough more violently this time blood starting to trickle out of his mouth.

"You mean someone did this to me? Someone made me a time bomb? Someone wanted me to hurt people? And now that evil is gone?"

"Yeah…"

Flame Princess didn't know what to say, she had lived her whole life with people fearing her for this power she couldn't tame. She had spent whole years trying to master it and felt foolish for not being able to… but now she could… she was whole again… the evil was gone and she… and she could be happy with her prince. With that thought in mind she jumped at Finn pulling him into a deep embrace and holding onto him tightly her lips smacked against his as she let all of her emotions show without fear. Finn barley know what to think let alone react, fortunately his body reacted for him pulling her in tighter allowing the two to experience the bliss of each other's touch without pain, without fear and without doubt as they both lost each other in the moment.

When they did eventually part lips they continued to hold onto each other.

"I… I…" Flame princess struggled to say.

"I Love You" Finn stated with the whole force of his heart behind him.

"I Love You too" she replied, finally having the confidence to say the words that danced on her tongue for so long. They both turned to the Shade Prince, the very reason they could feel each other and share in this moment to see the Prince looking a bit better, He still looked like he'd ran for a week straight or played a card wars marathon for a month but he had gained a bit more (well less) colour in his face.

Finn smiled at the Prince and was happy when he smiled back. He remembered what had been on his mind. "Hey why does she keep calling you pervert?".

Lumen sighed as FP blushed. This was a story neither wanted to mention both embarrassed by the name and the incident itself.

Marceline flew as fast as she could, she had transformed into her large demon bat form in hopes of getting to the frozen kingdom. Tears were left falling behind her in a trail as she couldn't hold back any longer. These many years of being alone… Of being without Simon... were over. She started to see the white snow reflecting the moon's shine and realized she was getting close. She started looking out for the Ice King's mountain palace; she had long detested the image of the place considering it a monument to the crowns corruption of her former father figure. She scanned the horizon for any sign of the triangular pointy mountains but to her surprise what she saw was something very different.

Instead of the tactless mountain home she was use to stood a whole Kingdom made of Ice, there were walls to the kingdom that wrapped around the Ice domain. There were now little houses and streets made of Ice, oddly enough the Ice was in different colours and there were even little ice lamps that lit the streets of the Ice Kingdom. In the centre of this new Ice Kingdom was a beautifully carved castle, it stood taller than most and was decorated with many different colours of Ice, it was a sight to behold as the moonlight bounced of the cold castle reflecting the colours onto the sky above creating an artificial Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights).

"Wow…" was all Marceline could say at the newly decorated Kingdom, it had turned from a sight that disgusted her to one that captivated her.

She decided to fly through one of the windows on the top floor and make her way down trying to see as much of the castle as she could. The castle was as beautiful on the inside as it was on the outside, along the frozen walls were an array of different sculptures that seemed to tell a story, on one side was a little girl, she seemed to be dancing and she was adorable. On the other side of the corridor was an older man, he wasn't as defined in features but in his frozen eyes you could see kindness, she followed the hall way watching the story unfold. The man seemed to be growing older and weaker as he was more hunched over, the girl on the other hand was growing taller and stronger. It was about this point she noticed that both of the sculptures were missing the happy smiles she saw at the beginning, she floated on hoping to find the reason why but there was only one more statue it showed the man and the girl hugging both smiling. She stared at the girls face and saw her own. Before she could get caught up in the meaning of all of this she saw something that caught her eye.

"Marcy's Room" she read. She pushed open the door and peered into the room.

It was a decent sized room in her opinion; she looked at the window and saw that it was black tinted Ice "to block out the sun?" She thought as her eyes continued to scan the room, the room itself was decorated with red tinted Ice, there was a drum kit, guitar and sound system on one side of the room on the other there was a wardrobe, shelf with assorted things from the time before the mushroom war and then there was the bed, it was decorated with a red and black blanket set with white skulls on it. Next to the pillow however was the one thing that really interested her in this room.

"…Hambo"

"Simon's back… They found a way to save him? How did they do it?" Betty flew through the sky on the magic carpet she had stolen so long ago. The wind whipped into her face and it honestly stung a bit due to the fact she hadn't wore her hooded cloak. Night had fallen since Finn had called her saying that Simon was cured and was expecting her.

"How is it possible? I did everything to save him? I went to the Grand Wizard to find a way, I travelled Ooo, I found demons, monsters and horrors so bad they do not even have a name and I couldn't save him?" She yelled at herself with tears flooding from her eyes.

"Was it Finn? No, he told me everything he could before I left. Maybe it was Marcy? No, she had a thousand years to take Si back from that horrid crown. Who saved him?"

Betty wasn't really sure why she cared who saved Simon; she just knew it was important. She had done everything to save him and after years had nothing to show for it. She'd left on her own as Finn had a life to live back home and seemed stuck in depression pining after a girl. Marcy on the other hand had begged to go with her but Betty needed stealth in her favor and when you can only move around during the day under a giant umbrella you couldn't have that. She had to go alone but now... Simon was back.

Her prince had returned to his princess.

Marcy flew as fast as she could to the bed and grabbed her Hambo. The last time she had seen her stuffed treasure she had given it to Simon to help him say goodbye to his Betty. She wrapped him tightly in her arms and began to cry. She wasn't sure of how long she stayed like that for but suddenly a light appeared in the room.

"Marceline? Is that you? My god how you've grown" A tearful voice said from the entrance of the room.

"I'm so sorry Marceline… I went crazy… I couldn't save you… I couldn't remember you… I lost myself to that damn crown… I ow-" Simon's apology was cut short by the hug he felt as Marcy wrapped her arms around him. For the longest time no one said anything, Simon could feel her tears dripping on his shoulder, feel her sobs against his body and began to stroke her raven coloured hair as he had done when she was little and still had nightmares of losing her mother.

"Marceline I'm sorry… I left you alone in the wreckage of that world and I know you needed me but I left"

"Simon stop! You didn't leave me the crown took you away from me, that horrid evil crown robbed you from me. That crow-" It was around this point when Marceline pulled back and noticed the crown still sitting on Simon's head, the light at this time come on in the room. Marceline stared at his shortened white hair, his white eyes and his smart graceful attire realizing this wasn't exactly the Simon she remembered.

"WHY? SIMON, WHY ARE YOU STILL WEARING IT?"

"Marceline let me explain?"

"EXPLAIN WHAT? GET IT OFF SIMON BEFORE I LOSE YOU AGAIN!" The Vampire lunged at the crown trying to knock it off his head but found herself unable to move.

"What? What's happened to me?"

"Marceline just relax I'll release you once you promise to calm down and let me explain?"

"Oka- Okay Simon"

"Thank you" Simon lifted the spell he had placed on Marceline and started to explain the spell itself first when Marcy started to look around trying to find the Ice that had frozen her.

"If you're looking for Ice you won't find it, now I have complete control over the crown my magic powers have become complete. The crowns true power is more than Ice and Snow; I can literally freeze you at a molecular level and also freeze the air around you, hence why you didn't fall to the ground when I froze you. It's just one of the new powers I have."

Simon carried on explaining the visit he had received from the Finn and his new friends and explained his escape from insanity.

"So who was this friend of Finn's? And how comes he saved you?"

"His name is Lumen; he is the Prince of the Shade kingdom and the lands of light and shadows. He himself used to go by a different name and lived in a different time and was ripped from that life by people in Ooo to take up the throne. Him and Prince Finn are-"

"Prince Finn? Since when has Finn been royalty?"

"I'll get round to that just be patient now Marceline. The boys are visiting monarchs around Ooo in order to build relationships with other kingdoms. Lumen wanted to visit me and pay respect to me as the Ice King but also felt he had a chance to save me, which he did. I thanked them for their aid and went about rebuilding my kingdom which I'm sure you noticed. I built a home for me and Betty to live in and when she comes back I hope she will be my queen, the Queen of Ice and Snow. I built this room so you had somewhere to stay when you visited and because I feel like I owed you this… a room to be safe in and where you can be the little girl I used to love and care for. I recovered Hambo from the spell I cast, it was always possible but I couldn't do it in my previous condition. Oh yes and Finn was made the next in line for the Shade Kingdom, his title is now Finn the Human Prince and he seems a lot happier now he's found another human like himself."

"Wait this Lumen is Human too?"

"Yes well mainly I believe when he was turned into the Prince of Shades he became some sort of human hybrid but yes he is mainly human."

"Wow… I owe him so much… he saved you, fixed Finny and gave the weenie a family. Do you know where he went I need to thank him?"

Simon chuckled to himself "Don't worry he will find you, I have a feeling he's wanting to see you a lot more than you realise?"

"What? Why would he want to meet me?"

"All in due time Marceline, All in due time."

"I've missed you Simon"

"I've missed you too Marceline and this time I will always remember you."

Lumen walked through the Kingdom of flames with a smile; the people here were very polite and interesting. Since being here he'd learned a lot about their culture and past from one of the castle aids. He learned that the Flame Princess brought the end of her father's horrible control of the kingdom and then brought in a time of complete honesty. This seemed to be around the same time Finn and she broke up. "Must have been what spurred the honest thing" Lumen summarized in his head. Since then though, she had changed the law to 'Individuals had to act in the best interests' which allowed for little white lies but kept everyone good. With taxes lowered and more freedom to do as they liked the people had warmed (excuse the pun) to their princess and had gone about rebuilding their kingdom. They even accepted refugees from the Rock Kingdom when there were massive natural disasters in the area. The flame kingdom had become allies with many others in Ooo (not the candy kingdom due to the conflict between the two princesses).

"I wonder if I should have left them there after all" he sighs to himself.

Meanwhile at the Flame Palace

Finn and Flame Princess had barley breathed since Lumen had closed the door leaving the passionate duo to themselves. He said he wanted to explore the kingdom but Finn had an idea that the Prince just wanted to give them time alone and for that he was grateful.

Finn felt his lips push against FP's and ran his hands down her spine, this was the feeling he had spent years longing for. FP felt likewise as she ran her hands through his hair, she felt his pony tail and opened an eye to peak at it. After a while the pair stood apart and really took in the others appearance. FP took in Finn's new body and his pierced ear and hair, he looked a lot more mature these days and extremely good looking. Finn stared at the princess, the years had been good to her and as well as growing taller other parts of her had grown in size too. "What am I thinking that for?" Finn shook the thought from his head before speaking to his Princess.

"FP-"

"Finn, why do you never call me by my first name? I'm your girlfriend… I think… so you should be able to?"

"Sorry… Phoebe I guess it just felt weird after calling you FP for so long and yes you are my girlfriend… for now"

"For now? Finn what do you mean? What do you mean by that?"

"Oh… well… we're adults now Phoebe… Yeah it's okay to be girlfriend and boyfriend but maybe sometime soon… we could...-"

"Go on Finn? We could what?"

"We- We could call each other Fiancé… not yet obviously we only just got back together but soon"

"Oh Finn" Phoebe exclaimed pulling her boyfriend into another embrace. "Fiancé… He wants to marry me… He actually said it… He said he'd want me to be his Fiancé"

"Fiancé? Why did I say that? Now she'll think I'm a total freak we only just got back together and I'm already dropping the M-bomb" Finn screamed to himself in his mind.

"Hmm, He doesn't seem to be kissing me like before… Oh Glob… How could I be so stupid its Finn I'm talking to if he thinks I don't like the idea he'll start to brood and think he's done something wrong!"

"Finn" The hero lifted his head to meet hers as she called his name. "I would love to be your Fiancé… Nothing would make me happier for you to be my King…" She blushed as she said it. "But your right, it's too soon so I will wait for you to ask me properly" Finn's grin spread from cheek to cheek and he was about to speak when Phoebe held a finger to his lip.

"And I expect the real deal, you better plan something totes algebraic if you want that yes" She winked at him and she finished her sentence then once again kissed her prince.

"This is perfect… what can possibly go wrong to ruin this perfect day" Phoebe thought to herself.

If you hadn't noticed yet XD the whole conversation with Simon and Marcy was based on 'I Remember You', i listened to the song when I wrote it and I think it really helped bring it out. Since i started reading fanfic's I've only seen a few that lets Simon and Betty be together properly so in mine I really wanted to bring out that relationship. Something I wanna do in these little comments is pay respect to the other Adventure Time things that give me inspiration or that i enjoy so if you wanna heres a few things i recommend:
