Chapter 78
His Story
I would like to tell you a story.
It will be a short one, I promise.
This particular one is about two men. They were probably in their thirties, possibly older or possibly younger. Doesn't really matter. One was a blonde, the other a redhead. They probably had some form of names or identifying factor, but that doesn't matter.
The story goes like this:
One day, the two men meet. It's in a park They get into an argument and the blonde pulls out a gun. He fires, ending the argument. Or so it seems.
Fast forward some time, the blonde has gotten married and now has a child - a girl. She does not ask why her father carries a gun in a place where guns are mostly forbidden.
One particular day, she met another girl. A hateful girl, a spiteful one. She spouted words that made no sense to her supposed friend, often confusing her even more than before.
But before anyone has a chance to get to the bottom of it, the story restarts. Time and time again, the same events play out with seemingly no end. Memories of what the argument that led to this whole mess seemed to slowly fade from the participants memories. Things began to seem hopeless, but then... things changed.
Maybe it was their creator getting bored and moving onto a new idea. Or perhaps something else had taken their place. It didn't matter. One by one, the pieces would find roles in other works. Works that would never see the light of day.
This went on for some time, until just the blonde and redhead remained. For some reason, these two had managed to hang on against all odds. The writing seemed to be on the wall, leaving them with little time.
So they made a promise.
That if they were to one day meet again, they would finish their argument. Whatever it was by the blonde's hand or the redhead. It didn't matter.
What is known, was that they did eventually finish. It took them quite a number of years and a near miss or two, but someone came out the victor.
.
Evil TK's eyes shot open.
Even amid the haze, he knew where he was.
"Really?" the former narrator whispered and picked himself up. It was going to be one of those 'days'.
Notes:
Truly, this is a twisted development. I wonder where it lead us '2'.
Sorry. That was an awful pun.
