Chapter ?

Sora of Ebyssia

"Sora!"

No answer.

"Sora!"

Still no answer.

"Sora!"

This time, a succubus slowly rouses from her slumber. Her attention turns to the nearby window, where a pink wyvern of all things awaits.

"Yes, Lady Biyo?" she inquires and get a groan in return. "Let me get dressed for today, then I'll be out."
That response gets her a sigh, but it goes ignored for the moment. Mostly because our heroine has just pushed away the covers and is now trying to decide on which armored dress she wants to wear that complements her lily petal-shaped wings. Yes, you read that right. These aren't your regular succubi and stuff.

"Who are you talking too, narrator?" Sora inquires, silence serving as the answer for the moment. "Oh. Sounds good?"

Whatever the case, she continued her search for her clothes. Which seemed to take the form of a muted sleeve dress with the necessary holes to fit her wings. Then it was just a matter of slipping into her boots and heading outside. While there might have been time for breakfast, she nor Lady Biyo were that hungry. But was entirely debatable and stuff.

Outside, we find ourselves surrounded by a variety of flowers and flower succubi going about their days in relative harmony. But this didn't change the fact that a large pink 'wyvern' was just standing outside of the cavalier's home. While lacking much in the way of armor or even a saddle, it was not what most would expect. Just barely, a heart-shaped mark could be made out on the neck. While a possible tattoo, I doubt it. Especially since Sora looks to have a similar spot around the same area.

"You're late. Again." Lady Biyo greets, watching her companion sigh and hitch herself on. "Didn't we agree that you would make an effort at getting up with me for once?"

Sora nods, giving Lady Biyo a slight tap. But all that gets her is a look.

"You forgot your spear, didn't you?"

There wasn't really a response, just the cavalier getting off her mount and rushing back into her home. Hopefully, this doesn't become a theme of this misadventure.

A few minutes later, Sora returns with her spear. While quite plain at first glance, you gotta appreciate the flame patterning on the rod and the bird-like beak for a spear head.

"Now I'm ready." Sora announces as she got back onto her partner. "Where are we patrolling today, my lady?"

Lady Biyo just chuckles and dashes forward, wings flapping as best they could. By the time they had reached the next house (just a couple yards away), the wyvern's feet were touching air rather than dirt.

From up above, the various creatures inhabiting Luxor were just mere specks on the ground. Not that either wyvern or rider seemed to mind in this moment.

"What's the destination that you had in mind?" Sora inquires, getting a look from Lady Biyo. After, the wyvern's focus shifts off into the distance. There, one could just make our what looked to be a group of figures dressed in lab coats getting ready to strike down a group of travelers. "Should we perhaps help them, my Lady?"

Lady Biyo nods and 'gracefully' descend. And by gracefully, I mean she went into a full-on swan dive at high speed. Which wasn't enough to buck Sora off, somehow. If anything, it forces the cavalier to lean forward and carefully get her feet on the wyvern's back. What followed, was our heroine jumping from her mount and towards the grunts below.

"Die in the name of my Lady!" she screeched as she got within hearing range, swinging her spear into these possible opponents. Her weapon connects, launching at least one of their heads with little trouble. Said head proceeded to smash into another grunt and knock them too the ground.

"Hey!"

Sora doesn't answer. Instead, her spear erupts into flames and she points it towards what remains of her opponents.

"We surrender." one of the grunts announces, his grip tightening on his loot. In turn, that hand quickly found its way onto the ground. "Or not. Now just die, wil-"

Before that truly wonderful sentence could even be finished, a squawk followed. The fire turned into an inferno and shot forth from the spear. Which had the unintentional consequence of burning everyone here. Even Sora. In the flames, neither traveler or grunt waas

"Ow." the cavalier muttered as her mount made their true descent. She doesn't let the tears flow, instead just staring towards the bodies whose fates she just snuffed from this world. "I'm sorry, Lady Biyo."

Yet, Lady Biyo shakes her head and just sighs.

"It's alright, my kith." the wyvern mutters and uses her wings to turn Sora around. After, she just lets it sit on the cavalier's shoulder. "If nothing else, can I see you in your natural form? and help with the burial of all these bodies?"

Sora complied and puts a hand to her face, removing a translucent mask. Gone was her outfit from before, getting replaced with a pink sari decorated with a flower petal pattern. Unlike most sari's, this one appears to be layered with a couple petticoats underneath. Opera gloves covered both arms and hands, leading up to a pair of puffed up shoulder pads. Just barely visible, a pair of heels hugged her feet with a pair of long white stockings to boot. And to finish it all off, a small tiara settled in Sora's hair.

"Better, my little cavalier?"

She gets a nod for that.

as her kith begins to dig. But as gloved hands touched dirt, they seem to hit something hard. Sora grabs hold, only to feel her body get sucked towards it. So she uses her free hand to latch onto Lady Biyo.
"I got you." the wyvern coos as she uses her wings to hold on. The ground around them pushes away and reveals… a portal of sorts. Before with mount or rider had a chance to decide on the next step, they found themselves getting sucked in.

On the other side, the pair found themselves staring down a group of assorted people.

"Where are we?" Sora whispered as what looked to be Tai walked up. He cracks a smile, only for Lady Biyo to step in between them.

"She's my wife, by the way." Lady Biyo explained and let her heart mark be on full display. "So could you kindly back away from her, please?"

Tai complied and walked over to his seat. After, Sora and her 'wife' did something similar.

Been a while.

I know I keep promising that I'll finish this off. But between D&D and editing Cho & Me on top of having a part-time job and starting college.
