Su Li

Harry Potter could honestly say he knew pretty much nothing about Su Li. Nobody seemed to know anything about her including her dormmates. Most of the time people simply forgot she was there. She never spoke and was never picked on in class to answer questions as evidently even the teachers seemed to forget about her. When she was noticed or talked about, it was just to speculate if she even knew English or not. It was quite likely that Su would have lived a life of total obscurity without Harry or her ever truly crossing paths with one another were it not for one unlikely event. Well, not particularly unlikely, it kind of happened on a regular basis nowadays.

Once again, 6th year Gryffindor Harry Potter was being chased by fangirls. Whoever said being chased by girls was every boy's dream clearly had never had it happen to him. Those girls could be downright vicious in their attempts to get to him. He'd been poked and prodded by them, had his butt grabbed twice so far, been pressed with love potion spiked beverages 3 times, and even had a couple offers of marriage. So you could forgive him in his haste to get away as he ran down the hallway.

He knew there was a secret room just ahead behind a statue of a Franciscan monk; he just needed to get in there unseen. Quickly saying the password, the statue moved aside and he slipped inside, the hole closing just as the mob of girls all passed by.

Finally, he allowed himself to breathe deeply and rest for a moment, grateful to have managed to escape.

"You really need to stop getting so much attention," Came a female voice right next to him, causing him to jump in panic.

He turned to look at whoever had spoken. The secret room where he was now was lit up so he could see, but he still somehow managed to fail to notice her until she spoke up. Looking her up and down, he was surprised to find that it was Su Li, surprised to find that she was right there next to him, and surprised even that she had spoken at all.

"Yeah, I keep trying to," He insisted back, "it doesn't seem to work very well for me."

"It's an art," She argued.

"You seem to be pretty good at it yourself," He noted, hoping that what he said wouldn't be considered offensive.

However she seemed quite pleased at the compliment as she agreed, "I try to be."

After that, she turned and started walking back to a desk with what appeared to be her homework on it.

"Do you use this room to study?" He asked her.

"Yes," She answered simply as she sat down. He noticed even as she did so, she seemed to become almost unnoticeable again. He felt the urge to simply leave and let her do her homework in peace and just forget about her, but then that caused him to only grow more curious.

"So what is your secret in going unnoticed?" He asked her.

She looked up at him, as if surprised he was still talking to her, before answering simply, "I'm afraid I couldn't teach you."

"Yeah, I'm probably beyond help anyway," He noted, "I've only tried to become invisible my whole life without success."

Even when he had been with the Dursleys growing up he'd wanted to be invisible as attention from them only meant trouble.

"I'm afraid that would only draw attention to myself which of course would only defeat the purpose," She answered.

Harry looked her up and down, suddenly curious just why she would want to go unnoticed so much anyways. He hadn't noticed before but she seemed actually rather pretty, not at all curvy or any of the usual standards of beauty but still he found himself looking just the same. Most of all he concentrated on her hair, piled up in a bun as usual on top of her head. It seemed she had a lot of it and it caused him to wonder just how long it was. As far as he knew he'd never actually seen her wear it down.

She saw him looking at her and then asked as if confused, "Why do you stare?"

"Since I couldn't help but think you were pretty," He admitted simply.

He actually got the satisfaction of seeing her blush before she claimed, "I don't think things would work out between us."

"Why not?" He asked.

Of course he wasn't intending to like date her or anything, but he was now curious just why she didn't think it would work out if they did.

She sighed and said, "That is my business as to why I feel the need not to be noticed. The more attention you give me the more in danger I become."

"Of course naturally the more you resist the more curious I become," Harry pointed out. It was an interesting thing about trying not to be noticed, eventually if you do it well enough, some people are bound to become curious about you like he was right now.

She thought that over before saying, "very well, if you must know me and my family are currently in hiding from some not so wonderful people."

"Like refugees under asylum?" He asked.

"Yes, something like that," She confirmed.

As interesting as such a story might be, he opted to leave it at that.

"I won't bother you any further," He promised her, deciding to finally allow her the privacy she wanted. He went to go turn around but then she unexpectedly grabbed his arm and spun him around and the next thing he knew her lips were on his and he was suddenly kissing back. It was heavenly and amazing and his hands then ended up in her hair and into her bun. Her hair felt sleek and nice as was the feel of her body as it pressed into him.

"Sorry, I don't know what came over me," She apologized after she pulled away.

"Absolutely no need to apologize," He insisted.

Su then admitted, "I still couldn't resist doing that before you left and we never spoke again."

That last part was meant to convey her intentions concerning them, but he could tell that wasn't what she really wanted…and in truth it wasn't what he wanted either.

"I'm not sure I can avoid that after a kiss like that," He argued.

He noticed that during the time he had his hand in her hair it had caused her bun to become a bit disheveled with some strands of hair starting to come loose.

She noticed and decided to let it out of its bun and redo it and as she did so her hair turned out to be even longer than he thought it was going to be, dropping past her waist, butt, and finally stopping just below her knees. It was truly a glorious sight.

"Your hair's so beautiful," He told her honestly, unable to avoid staring.

She blushed before confessing, "I've actually never let it down before for anyone other than my family."

"Never?" He asked in shock, "why would you hide-"

Then he realized it was again to prevent her getting noticed and risking putting herself and her family in danger. Whoever her family had crossed clearly was quite powerful.

"I love my hair," She answered, "but I also know that it would attract attention considering how long it is which means I have to keep it in this bun."

"Why show me then?" He asked her.

"Since I wanted you to see it," Su told him honestly.

He felt he understood her a bit better, her mind clearly focused on keeping herself safe but her heart acting totally different which is what caused him to finally say, "your hair and the rest of you is very beautiful Su."

She blushed again at the compliment and then suddenly they were kissing again, with his hands now back in her hair, although free to run his fingers through it, loving every bit of whatever this was. He didn't really know Su very well still, but he suddenly felt the desire to know all about her, the mystery of who she was only causing him to be even more interested.

As they broke apart however her war between her focus on safety and her obvious attraction for him found a clear winner as she insisted, "I think that's enough. Goodbye Harry."

At that she put her hair back into its bun and gathered up her things before leaving, leaving him feeling like he had lost something he had only had for just a moment but now knew he couldn't live without.

##############################

Over the next week, he tried to get Su Li out of his head, but he just couldn't, the thought of their kisses and her hair and her body and her lips…all of that he craved more. He was partially angry in fact that she had kissed him in the first place as it only caused him to want her even more, but the other part of him just wanted to relive it over and over.

During the classes they had together he tried to catch her attention, but she didn't seem to react at all not even so much as a nod.

After passing by the statue they had met behind however, he was unable to resist saying the password and walking into the secret room behind it. He found her there, previously studying at the desk she had in it, but she immediately stood up when she saw him.

"What are you doing here again?" She asked accusingly.

"I wanted to see you," He was forced to admit, feeling sort of guilty, "I'm sorry if I-"

She interrupted him however and admitted, "I'm glad you did."

At that she smiled, causing her whole face to light up and make her look even more beautiful. That turned out to be what did it as he rushed forward and started kissing her again which she eagerly accepted, acting like they hadn't seen each other in a year and not just a week.

That began the start of their wonderful and yet forced to be secret relationship. He kept wanting to know more and more about her and she finally began to open up and tell him. He could tell she had never done so before, but she also felt quite relieved and pleased to finally get a chance to share her life with him.

She even eventually opened up about just why her family was in hiding. Evidently back in China, her father had been responsible for coming forward and ensuring that several leaders of a wizard crime organization were arrested and put behind bars. In response, the crime organization threatened and made a couple attempts on his and his family's life, forcing them to leave the country and go into hiding.

Of course Harry Potter and going unnoticed simply was a bad combination. With him being such a highly well-known public figure in the wizard world even outside of Britain, he understood how being with him represented such a risk and he didn't want to jeopardize that.

However they also couldn't resist being together and the more time he spent with her, the more he liked her and the more she apparently liked him and that was what the problem was. Their relationship was bound to get out eventually but they did manage to keep it a secret. For 5 wonderful months anyway.

Five months after first getting together, they currently lay on the bed they had put into their secret room where they now usually met, resting after a long session of lovemaking. Su was just absolutely insatiable in bed he'd found and he just couldn't get enough of her.

"I think people might be getting suspicious that you still don't have a girlfriend yet," Su pointed out to him as she lay her head against his chest.

"Maybe I just got fed up with girls after so many keep chasing after me," Harry argued.

She laughed a bit at that before saying, "well maybe you could try to be at least outwardly in a relationship with one of them."

"Are you actually suggesting I try to date another girl?" He asked her, surprised at such a suggestion, "You that sick of me or do you just really want to share me?"

"It would just be for show to keep anyone getting suspicious," Su explained, " and obviously neither to answer your question, I can't get enough of you, and you can't get enough of me," She replied.

"Is that so?" He decided to tease her a bit.

"Of course you want me way more than I want you," She teased right back.

"Is that a challenge?" He asked her.

"Do you accept such a challenge?" She countered.

"Oh I do, I'll even have you screaming my name by the end of it," He insisted.

"More like you'll be screaming mine," Su replied.

A few things he'd learned about Su: she could be rather playful, but also eager for a challenge…especially ones involving sex which led to many very different but enjoyable ways of doing it. Finally 15 minutes later after another long bout of lovemaking they rested again as he opted to just kiss her gently before reassuring her about her suggestion of him dating another girl, "you're the only girl I want Su."

She smiled widely before telling him, "It was just a thought. Just wanting to try and play it safe."

"Well you don't need to worry about me at least," He argued, "with Voldemort around, I'd say I couldn't be in anymore danger than I am now."

Su nodded before saying, "of course that only makes me look weak, you're clearly in more danger than me or my family ever was."

"I don't think you're weak," He insisted. Su he felt was the exact opposite of weak in a lot of ways.

"I know, but I still want to help you as much as I can," She insisted.

He'd already told her everything, all about the horcruxes, everything. He trusted her completely as she trusted him completely.

"If it weren't for my parents, I'd have already just came out with it and told the whole world you're my boyfriend," Su said.

He took her hand and squeezed it gently and said, "and I would have told you not to in order to keep you safe. I wouldn't want to lose you."

"I wouldn't want to lose you either though Harry," Su answered before they kissed again, "that's why I want to protect you."

"Even if it means me dating some other girl?" He teased, "I hear Ginny Weasley just broke up with Dean."

"Oh I definitely think I could beat out Ginny if that is the best you could come up with," She answered.

"Ginny's rather nice," He argued.

"Well all right, if that is how you feel, go ahead and get together with Ginny or some other girl then," Su countered back, not in the least bit worried that might actually happen.

"Did you miss the part about you being the only girl for me?" He answered.

"Oh no, I just wanted to hear you say it again," She replied teasingly.

He grinned, loving the playful side of Su that he had managed to eventually coax out. Frankly he loved everything about her.

However as he looked into her beautiful eyes he couldn't help but get more serious as he then asked her, "do you really want me to say it?"

She stared back at him, looking equally serious as she said, "only if you want to and really mean it."

"I love you," He told her easily.

"I love you too," She said without hesitation.

Their relationship might be a secret one, but it was no less real for either of them. However just as they leaned in for another kiss, they heard the doorway to the room open.

Immediately out of fear, they both rushed to try and do something but it was already too late. What was worse was that it was one of the girls that had been stalking him for pretty much the whole year.

"I finally managed to figure out how to get into where you've been hiding," Romilda Vane said triumphantly. However when she looked them both over, both of them only covered up by a blanket, she exclaimed in total shock, "Su Li! That's who you've been snuggling up to this whole time!"

Romilda didn't get a chance to say anything more because suddenly a spell hit her, causing her to fall down onto the floor unconscious.

He looked over at Su who was still clutching her wand who apologized and said, "I didn't know what else to do."

"It's going to get out anyways when she wakes up," Harry pointed out, "not unless we could modify her memory or something if you happen to know how."

Su shook her head and said, "I wouldn't know how to do it and without really knowing how there is a better chance we'd only cause either brain damage or memory loss in other areas we don't want her losing."

He sighed and said, "I'm not really sure what else we could do. I mean if we were to break up-"

"We aren't doing that," Su interrupted him firmly before putting her hand into his, "I think it's time we went public."

He looked back at her and asked, "Are you sure? I mean the risks would…"

"I don't care about the risks, I'll take them all," She answered bravely, "all I know is I'm not leaving you."

Finally he nodded and said, "All right then, how do you want to announce it?"

She smiled and said, "I have a few ideas."

Just a half an hour later, he anxiously awaited her arrival at the Great Hall for dinner. When she finally arrived, he caught his breath at just how beautiful she looked.

She was wearing an absolutely gorgeous red Chinese silk dress that hugged her admittedly very modest curves well. What was more was that she had finally let her hair down, showing it off in all its glory. To complete the outfit, she had even worn just the right amount of makeup.

When she saw him and their eyes locked she smiled widely as they walked towards one another and closed the distance between them, finally moving forward and kissing each other with a long passionate kiss. There were plenty of audible gasps of surprise and by the time they finally broke apart pretty much the whole hall was staring at them in total shock.

They both however just smiled and waved as if it was nothing, ignoring the many angry glares at Su from a large portion of the female population of the school.

"Well its out," He told her.

"Yes," She agreed, "want to kiss again for anybody who might have missed it?"

"Absolutely," He replied, as he leaned in and did just that and as he did so, he couldn't help but think that no matter what might happen, he knew he'd always have Su to face it with him. He could help her parents go into hiding or face the many angry fangirls or any other sort of dangers, or anything else that might be a result, but he knew above all he'd made the right choice.
