Been a while. This was fun to do.
Chapter 104
Kizana Abridged
Our trailer begins not with the usual Toei logo, but instead a scene of a bright blue sky. You can sort of see part of a bridge in it.
Tai: Talk to you later! I'm currently being recorded by someone!
While he speaks, we come to a scene with a butterfly - a blue japanese swallowtail butterfly to be exact. One of 327 different butterfly species. Yes, you read that right.
Then it's time for the Toei Animation logo. Followed by a shot of Tai running across a crosswalk. A close-up followed. Got to keep the paparazzi off your butt right now.
Then the logo for Digimon Adventure's 20th anniversary. Following that, we cut to a shot of Matt hunched over a restaurant. Looks like someone is trying to emulate the old days with that shirt and haircut.
Matt: Pass the salt, or I'll change on you!
Not even waiting for a response, we cut to Sora. Decked out in a kimono, she appears to be working on an arrangement.
Sora: Stupid twig. Just stay in!
The twig refuses to comply. Absolutely rude.
Joe is next, who appears to be taking notes on something with two other doctors.
Matt: I'm serious. I'm more willing to go off on my own and be my own one man party. You can't stop me, damn it.
Now onto Mimi, who's currently telling her grand plan on… something. All while Palmon is spinning about.
Palmon: Whee!
Mimi: This is not a pyramid scheme. You just give me a 100 yen and ask your friends for 200 yen…
And finally, Kari and TK's turn. Heck, even Gatomon and Patamon are here with Agumon and Gabumon.
TK: Can they hear us?
Kari: What do you think, my little cupcake.
Huh… Not sure whether I should be happy for them or not.
It's off to a black screen now.
Here we go again
The scene then turns to a shot of Agumon staring at something. Probably a big plate of meat that Tai decided to bring into his room.
Menoa: Do you wonder why that brunettesexual computer pervert give you these partners? There has to be a reason, right?
Then to a scene of Menoa entering Izzy's office. Looks kind of nice, bit smaller than his old one.
Menoa: Sup.
Black Screen next.
Then we have a scene of imposter So- I mean Menoa at a computer. Hey. There's another one of those butterflies.
Menoa: Just follow my orders and I won't die.
What looked to be a tunnel to the internet shows up. Then a close-up of her.
Menoa: Just kidding. I'm going to die anyhow! Silly me.
Then a shot of Tai looking down at something.
Tai: Oh for fuck sake.
Our camera flips around, revealing our intricate phone digivice. Which sadly won't be a product on the market. Boo.
Then we go to a pretty orange and white screen. 'Butterfly' begins playing. Fuck. You may be gone Kouji, but your legacy lives on.
Spooky scary digimon are coming for your doors
Onwards to Izzy, who's very confused.
Izzy: Oh no!
The scene shifts to his computer screen. Which has both the modern bar for Windows 8/10 and that of Windows 95. With Windows 8 architecture. So much for Mac. Followed by the opening of a couple of pictures of people who gotten their butts kicked.
Izzy: The phantom phone striker! This must be their work.
We're in the internet now, looking upon Kizuna from Persona 4 of all things. Except they are a warrior of some kind.
We zoom on in, revealing themselves as Eosmon of all things.
Eosmon: It's the dawn of a new day for all of you. May your deaths be quick in the face of the rising sun. He he…
Then we're back to Izzy's office. Here, Tai is storming off to do something.
Menoa: Oh no you don't!
Tai isn't in a listening sort of mood.
We then shift over to a scene of Angemon, Kabuterimon, Greymon and Gararumon. Heck, Tai and Matt are standing on their 'mons. Izzy's too. Which make TK standing off to the side like some kind of idiot.
TK: Come on Angemon, let me on!
Angemon: No.
TK: Boo.
We zoom out, only to cut into a shot of someone's digivice. Probably Matt's? Maybe Tai's. Except we then fade into a shot of Agumon with it raining.
Matt: I care so much with ya, Tai. I'll go with you no matter what. Doesn't matter the place or the time.
Zooming out, we come upon Agumon and Tai. But not for long, since we're off too a building near the Great Sky Wheel in Palette Town. Sounds like a perfect place to start one's journey.
Matt: I mean it. No matter what happens, we'll be together.
We cut to a shot of Tai on a platform of ice. Matt is off in the background.
Tai: I agree!
He then proceeds to slam his fist into the ice. Except the camera cuts the hit to him sitting for some reason.
Then another one of those cut aways.
Our choice has been made
We cut to a shot of Tai and Matt with their digimon partners. What looks to be the trolley car has been frozen. Guess some place froze over.
Agumon: We're ready for this wild ride!
Then a close-up of our digimon pair.
Agumon: Let's go be badasses!
Then we're on over to our heroes's heads. They give a nod as the scene shifts to a shot of Omnimon. Because we need him again. As the nice subtitles off in the corner tell that this is in fact Butterfly by Kouji Wada. Them, more shot of Omnimon doing stuff. Okay, there's a shot of Eosmon flying about.
Then it's over to the 02 group with most of their digivolved partners. And a whole load of spikes. You've got spikes on Ankylomon, Stingmon's spiked shoulder guards and even ExVeemon has little knuckle spikes. Not to be left out, even Hawkmon's neck plume is spiky. For some reason.
Davis: Dude, how the heck did you get even taller now?
ExVeemon just chuckles.
Then we have a pair of shots of Tai and Matt looking at each other. Then the world's loudest high five. Like seriously, it's louder than anything said in this entire trailer.
Now, another one of the weird orange and white screens.
This may or may not be the last abridged
Then to a shot of Ikkakumon shooting off his signature horn torpedo. Wait. Wouldn't this whole fight been far cooler if they had just had the megas. I guess we're going back to Champions for some reason.
Next is Togemon shooting off some needles.
Tai: Give me fate or give me death!
Then we cut to him and Tai actually speaking for the moment. Only to cut away to Aquilamon swooping down with Yolei sort of… there.
Matt: I give them death!
Onwards we go, to a shot of Agumon hold Tai's roughed up hand. Followed by a shot of Gabumon doing the same with Matt.
Tai & Matt: Let this be our finale! Super Ultra Maximum Plus Dyna Evolution!
We are then treated to a shot of light erupting forth from both their digivices, swirling up into the air and leading right into two silhouettes who are most definitely some kind of variation on the Greymon and Garurumon line. Then we're into the title.
But we're not quite done. One more scene. Agumon staring up.
Agumon: Tai, you're bigger now. How am I supposed to give you hugs now?
Then a shot of Tai's back. Congrats on ruining the moment. Finally, one more scene on an orange and white background.
