Dead Silent

Chapter 3

Children of the Grave

Mordekaiser stared at the portal before him and grinned in self-congratulatory satisfaction, a Gateway to the realm of the living that would propel his descendant back into her body. Mordekaiser looked back at Cithria and saw her approach him cautiously, his descendant had never seen magic up close he realized if only she knew of how the world was before of his voluntary exile into his domain.

"The time has come child your body lies waiting for you spirit, I do not request much of you but I do want you to contact me from time to time and for that you need a spell" Cithria looked at her shoes nervously.

"Magic is forbidden in Demacia, I have never even seen magic until today I don't know if I would be able…

"Hmmm" Mordekaiser said in fake ponder, he knew that. He just wanted and excuse for what was to come next "I could plant myself in your brain, only manifesting when I deem it necessary I would only be able to see what you see and talk to you"

"You can do that!? I didn't know magic was that powerful" Cithria said in amazement making Mordekaiser chuckle in amusement "Not everyone can do it child, there is power beyond your comprehension on the blood that runs through your veins and it all starts with me" Mordekaiser said making Cithria looked down at her hands and nodded "I would bring honor to you ancestor, I am ready you can call the spell on me" Mordekaiser nodded and placed a finger on her forehead carving a mark on her soul.

"Your destiny awaits Cithria, walk through the portal and walk among the living once again" Cithria opened her eyes and nodded, but before she left she wrapped her arms around the leg of her giant ancestor.

"Thank you!" and with that she jumped into the portal, Mordekaiser nodded and closed it. "Slain once, born twice" he said to no one in particular and walked back to supervise the realm of the dead he would give Cithria time and is no really like he needed her to do his bidding right now, all he desired was to hear that melody again… it left him longing for something he did not have and if he didn't have it…

"I will take it" Mordekaiser said as the army of the dead roared in reverence at the sight of their master.

Sona felt nothing as she entered her room, her life had fallen into a monotonous routine, the stress had been mounting up for gods knew and she decided that today was the day she would sneak out. She let out a giggle at how childish it sounded but she really needed to get away from everyone. Maintaining her façade was tiring and what better way to get rid of it than a nice day outside, discarding her usual dress she changed into something more normal for Demacia. Brown boots, a loose shirt and hood that covered all of her features where more than enough for Sona to disappear into a crowd, the image that she had built for herself had its perks. No one expected THE Sona to walk around like this.

She silently made her way outside her house, avoiding all the maids and guards. This thrill always made her hearth race and it made her feel different than when she was performing, like a mischievous girl, back when she had been a child in Ionia.

She brought a basket with her and decided that today was a day to pick flowers, she had spotted a nearby valley when she passed in her carriage and so she went unnoticed and unbothered by people who loved her for her superficial image but no doubt would hate her for who she really was but such was life in Demacia, a life of people hiding their true self for the good of not just them but their families as well. Sona shook her head out of those dark thought, she was trying to get away from everything not depress herself. She looked at the path near the valley and frowned, it looked kind of dark and scary. But she had already come all the way over here so it was too late to back down, she steeled herself and walked towards the dark passage of trees, making sure to walk as quickly as she could, but something caught her ear. Coughing and groaning, someone was there, curiously she walked quietly to that part of the wood and the she gasped at the sight.

A young female soldier, was slumped over in a tree, bleeding and looking almost dead, but to her immense surprise she pushed herself of the ground and quickly stumbled back to it. Sona ran towards her a kneeled before her, the girl was too weak barely managing to look up to her and then her eyes flashed green as if consumed by a mist. Sona raised her eyebrows in shock, a mage.

She couldn't take her to the guards, they would imprison her and in this weakened state she would surely die. Placing the girl over her shoulder and making sure that no one could see either of their faces she started to make her way back home. She felt the girl stir next to her "T-thank…you" was all she could mutter before her head slumped back down, she wondered who had done this to her she looked as if she had been mauled by a giant monster, what bothered her the most was how pale she was, if she wasn't talking Sona would have thought that she was actually dead not to mention how cold she was. People stared at her and her new companion, but no one bothered them making Sona frown. Heartless, all of them, but on the other hand she was grateful none came to them after all she was trying to keep a secret, she reached the entrance and basically kicked the door in. she placed the girl on the sofa and placed a hand on her cheeks, murmurs reached her ears.

"Fiddlesticks… ancestor… hurts" was all Sona managed to decipher, but in the end she guessed it didn't matter, Fiddlesticks was just a story and the girl needed her help.

Sona left to get her etwahl so that she could help soothe the soul of Cithria, so she didn't notice how Cithria's eyes opened and a ghostly figure rose out of the body of the girl, Mordekaiser looked around and nodded. His ancestor was safe and that was all that mattered but even better the girl had reached the music. Chuckling at the recent turn of events Mordekaiser descended back towards the body of the girl.
