Chapter 109
Mimi of Psi
Mimi Tachikawa wasn't really someone who got confused. When faced with a problem and/or obstacle, she would look for some kind of solution or ask someone for help. If that didn't work, then she would take some time to think the problem over.
But this was on a whole different level for the young girl. Her room was still here, sure. Decorated in light pinks and violets, it's a paradise for every little girl. Okay, maybe little girls who live in Japan and maybe not anywhere else. But that was probably just the result of the things available here in this country and her parents wallets. Sure, she didn't need a giant teddy bear. but for some reason her parents thought it was a necessary purchase. Something about the baby's kicking led them to get it or something dumb along those lines. Not that Mimi really
That didn't explain why there was a weird-looking plant dinosaur flower creature staring back towards her at the moment. They could at least blink once while staring towards their face.
"Why hello there, Mimi." the weird amalgamation announced, stepping closer to the young girl. Hand reaching out, their grip is met by a magical girl wand of all things. Nothing too fancy, it's the sort you find in one of those Precure shows. "I'm Aruraumon, your wonderful, amazing, splendid and amazing digital monster!"
Mimi stared at the weird plant creature, 'magic wand' still pointed at Aruraumon. She had to be absolutely certain that this 'Aruraumon' thing wasn't going to cause her any harm. Though, it was likely that they had already incapacitated her parents in order to get into her room. That or drugged them. Either option was entirely possible at this ungodly hour. Like seriously, what was the deal of waking someone up at 5:59 of all times. Couldn't this wait till 7 am? That seemed like a regular time for people to deal with weird and strange occurrences such as this one.
"Uh… thanks?" Mimi whispered, Aruraumon pushing the wand away and heading straight towards her. "Help! I'm being kid-"
Sadly, her cry for help fell on deaf ears. Mostly because this digital monster put their hand to Mimi's mouth to prevent any screaming. Maybe this actually was a kidnapping attempt. Though, was she really worth that much to her parents. Sure, her father had a high profile doing… something while her mother stayed at home. How much could this 'digital monster' get for her on the black market. A couple thousand Yen? Tens of thousands? Maybe a hundred thousand? That last
"Shh... " Aruraumon whispered and pulled her hand away. What was with this kid? Sure, maybe leaving the lights off at the moment might have not been the best idea. Though, that would've probably given herself away in the first place. Even then, what sort of kid leaves the web page to the Suite Pretty Cure open in this day and age? At least try and go for something recent, like say Healin' Good Pretty Cure. But that wasn't her problem for the moment. "We're partners now. This is a team effort, whether you like it or not."
Mimi looked away, debating her options. On one hand, there was no way she was going to be able to jump out of her window. The bedroom door wasn't usable either. Aruraumon would probably just grab her and then do unspeakable things that only adults talk about. Well, that's what one of her friends claimed at least. They were probably making stuff up. Sort of like how there was somehow two Las Vegases in the United States. One in Nevada and one in some place called 'New Mexico'. Why would a place such as that need two for some reason.
"Uh… you're alright?" Aruraumon inquired, getting a look from her partner. Sure, she had gone through the orientation on how to deal with humans. But there was nothing on the amount of pink held within this room currently. If she didn't know any better, this was the room of a princess of some foreign land. That bear alone had to be as big as a monzaemon at least. Though, those were the small ones. The big ones were as big as some of the buildings here in Japan. Not that this was really an accurate way to measure the height of a digimon. No, you use stuff like inches and feet. Because some idiot on that side of the world was the first to get there and decided that was how things were going to work around there. Given the choice, Araraumon would use the other system of measurement. Mostly because it was a hell of a lot easier for all parties involved.
"No, I'm not alright!" Mimi screeched, going for Aruraumon's face. She's not very successful in this endeavor. Mostly because Aruraumon wrapped her hand tendrils around her body. The grip isn't very tight, but more than enough to dissuade Mimi from really struggling. "Let go of me, you monster! What did you do with my parents?!"
Aruraumon rolled her eyes. While this was the farthest away from the ideal way she had thought this was going to go, maybe there was still a small chance to get all of this to rebound in her favor.
"They are currently sound asleep." the plant digimon explained, grip shifting slightly on Mimi. Still wasn't enough for the brat to break free and book it to parts unknown. "But right now, your destiny requires you to come with me."
The words roll out, Mimi's gaze split between the door and Aruraumon for the moment. On one hand, this had to be some kind of bizarre practical joke. There was no possible way on this earth that this thing could play some part in her destiny… right? At some point, someone was bound to pop out and shout 'Surprise' for a cheap laugh. But what if this was somehow not the case? By some strange chance, this was what life wanted her to do. It sounded crazy, almost contradictory to everything she knew. A mystery with no clear answer.
"What do I need to do then?" Mimi remarked, a strange ovaloid device appearing before the chosen. Gazing towards their partner, all they get is a shrug. Which is truly absolutely helpful in this situation. Especially as Araraumon's arms still hung around Mimi's waist.
"I don't know. Think of somewhere to go?" Aruraumon answered and her partner closed their eyes. A portal formed under their feet, pulling the pair through.
Notes:
The end is in sight. I wonder what Ken we'll be getting?
