Dead Silent

Chapter 5

Sona was confused as she saw the giant armored warrior turn to the small child that she had saved and offered his hand to the confused girl who stared at him in a mixture of awe and fear, he was not from this world and neither was the girl apparently.

"Please don't hurt Sona she saved me!" Cithria pleaded to her ancestor to which the giant armored man replied with a deep chuckle that made Sona shiver as he turned towards her and she tensed, what was going through his head? She could not feel emotion from him and it deeply worried her.

"You saved my descendant for that your soul will be spared, you should feel honored to stand before me, the first mortal to do so since the days of my empire" the booming voice said and it finally dawned on Sona just who was standing in her room, Mordekaiser the conqueror and the monster. A legend from Noxus, a story of the brutal birth of the greatest empire on the world, its whispers reached both Ionia and Demacia, a folktale of how even before Noxus had its name its foundations where made from the bones of the tribes that Mordekaiser had grounded to dust in the immortal bastion.

"Ah so you know me, I had hoped to fade away from the memory of the rest of the regions but from what I see you're more educated than your common citizen." Mordekaiser said as Sona took a step back terrified, making the iron giant chuckle "Yes, I can hear you, what a powerful soul you have, I can hear how it echoes above the noise, go ahead grab your weapon and strike me with it I will allow you a fighting chance"

Sona gritted her teeth as her ethawl was summoned next to her, with a look at Cithria to get out of the way Sona unleashed a torrent of music, a loud and heavy melody filled with anger and passion. Most humans would have broken down in pieces, their bones cracking and their souls waning under such a powerful melody. Mordekaiser on the other hand shivered in delight as the cacophony of anger and raw emotion attacked his senses, for so long, he had was denied of the drums of war and now he hungered for more.

But now was not the time "You… have my attention" Mordekaiser said as he reached forward with his ghostly claws and grabbed the instrument making Sona cling to it for dear life. Mordekaiser studied the cords and tried to play something but no sound came out of it, with a flick of the wrist his armor disappeared and his ghostly hand reached for the cords. Sona gasped as a rumbling melody came from the instrument, a rumble ancient and deep.

"I don't understand this" Mordekaiser said as he gave the instrument back to Sona, his attention turned to the portal that had started to wain "This window is closing, I will not stay my descendant, but I highly advice that you leave this city of cowards, for now you reek of magic. My advice to you is that you go to Noxus, the birth of my empire" Mordekaiser said as he stepped into the portal "And as for you maiden, you will only difficult the escape of my descendant so for now… you're coming with me" Mordekaiser said as Sona was dragged by the ghostly hands, with a silent scream she turned for help but Cithria was not fast enough to catch her.

"Reach Noxus and she will be returned to the world of the living, for now it's too dangerous for her to remain" Mordekaiser said as the portal closed and Cithria could only stare in fear and confusion, with a nervous nod she started to walk towards the exit and that walk soon turned into a sprint.

Sona landed with a soft thud on an unknown surface startled, she tried to run but her feet refused to move as a huge headache blinded her view from the world, a mist of grey and green suffocated her as she felt her lungs being squeezed. A pointy finger carved something into her forehead and then everything stopped, the pain faded away and her vision cleared front of her stood the iron revenant.

"You lived, good I wasn't so sure that the spell would work but for now your soul will not fade" Mordekaiser said as he stared down at his new "guest" Sona felt the urge to run agai but thought better one swing from the giant maze and she was done for "As if I would grant you the honor of being killed by nightfall he is reserved for more than just killing you know"

Sona cursed in her head as she tried to claw out the rune from her forehead "Such language from the maiden, the rune changes nothing, you project to much into the realm of magic your feelings and thoughts palpable… you're lucky you lived in a town so ignorant towards magic" Mordekaiser said as he walked towards his throne motioning her to follow. Sona looked around and her skin crawled when she saw a shambling skeleton approach her. Knowing better she kept close to Mordekaiser as they walked the halls of his castle.
