"What was that thing?" Emma asked bewildered staring at the trees where the blue creature disappeared. No one had an answer.

The old man had been staring at the sky after the large creature. "The winged beast is called a griffin. It is a mythical beast from Camelotian legend."

"How do we defeat a griffin?" Regina questioned the man.

"I do not know. The griffin is believed to exist only in myth, I did not believe it was real until recently."

"Okay. Don't worry, we'll figure this out." Emma said taking charge. "Belle, take Henry and um," she looked over to the old man, "I'm sorry, who are you?"

"I am the Sorcerer's Apprentice," was the man's simple reply.

"Um, okay," figuring they didn't have time to press for more details, Emma turned to Belle, "Take Henry and the Apprentice and see what you can find out about griffins. The rest of us should track down those creatures before they destroy the town."

The griffin and unidentified creature had disappeared in the direction of town and who knows how much damage they could cause.

As Belle, Henry, and the Apprentice arrived at the library, they noticed the door was ajar. Since the library was open at this time, Belle figured someone had forgotten to close the door behind them. However, when she pushed the door open the rest of the way, she saw that there were books thrown all over the place. As Henry and the Apprentice followed a cautious Belle into the library, more books were being thrown to the floor by an unseen individual grumbling to itself.

Belle signaled for the two men to be quiet as she peeked around the bookshelf to see who was throwing her beloved books. She let out a small gasp as she discovered it was the blue creature from earlier. She ducked behind the desk motioning for Henry and the Apprentice to do the same.

"Henry," Belle whispered afraid she had alerted the creature of their presence, "call your mom and tell her we found the blue creature."

As Henry called Emma to inform her of their discovery, Belle and the Apprentice peeked over the counter to see why books had stopped flying. The little creature was sitting on the floor, starring at what appeared to be a children's book in his lap as if it was unaware it wasn't alone.

"My mom said to stay put, she'll be here in five minutes," Henry whispered.

The Apprentice nodded and sat on the floor with the boy to wait for the sheriff. Belle, however, was very interested in the creature. It was now carefully turning the pages of the book, treating this book like it was precious unlike the other books it had touched. She noticed the creature's features had softened, making it look cute instead of creepy. Belle recognized the expression on the little thing's face as it looked at the book. She could tell it possessed a sadness that could only come from being separated from your family.

As Emma quickly made her way to the library, she noticed something odd. The street signs all along Main Street had been reversed. That's weird, she thought to herself, whose childish prank is this? The reversed street signs would have to wait because Emma had arrived at the library where her son had run into the little creature from the forest.

Emma drew her gun as she approached the library ready for a fight. She slipped through the open door to see the mess of books, and the three people she sent to research behind the desk motioning for her to join them.

"Emma, I don't think this thing is dangerous," Belle whispered getting a suspicious look from the blonde. "Look at it."

Emma looked over the counter at the blue creature to see a sad, lonely expression on its face as it stared down at a picture book. The koala like creature looked up, "I'm lost"

"Who are you?" Belle asked as she stood up slowly as to not frighten the poor creature.

"My, name, Stitch." Stitch replied.

"Okay Stitch, how about you come with us and we'll help you" Emma said as she cautiously moved towards Stitch with her handcuffs ready.

"Does Stitch have to wear those?" He asked pointing at the cuffs in Emma's hand.

"Yes, but just until we get to the station," Emma assured him.

"Can Stitch take the book?" He asked clutching the book.

Emma was now close enough to read the title, "The Ugly Duckling?" the sheriff turned to look at Belle.

Belle, Henry, and the Apprentice had come around the desk to get a better look at Stitch. Belle nodded, "You can take the book to the station with you."

"Thank you," Stitch said and let Emma put the handcuffs on and lead him out of the library and into her yellow bug.

Henry and the Apprentice stayed at the library to help Belle clean up while Emma took Stitch to the station. Once at the station, the sheriff removed the handcuffs and had Stitch sit in one of the two cells assuring him that they would only be keeping him locked up until they figured everything out.

Emma leaned on the desk, "I have a few questions, do you think you could answer them for me?"

Stitch nodded, "ih."

"Does that mean yes?"

Stitch nodded again, "ih."

"Okay, what are you? Where are you from?"

"I am alien, made by Jumba. Home is in Hawaii with my family," Stitch held the book in his arms a little tighter. "It's little, and broken, but still good."

"Were you made from magic?" Sheriff Swan asked, trying to wrap her head around the existence of aliens and how it ended up in a hat meant for magical beings.

Stitch looked confused, "Jumba called it science."

This confused Emma more, "How did you get in the sorcerer's hat if you're not magical?"

"I save Lilo." Stitch climbed up on the bed and opened the book back to the page he had been looking at in the library. On one side it had the ugly duckling crying because he was lost, on the other a family of swans finds him and he's happy because he knows where he belongs. Emma knew this story, it reminded her of her life before coming to Storybrooke and breaking the curse.

Before Emma could ask who Lilo and Jumba were, her phone rang and Regina's name came up on the screen. "What's going on? Have you and Robin found the griffin?" She asked when she answered it.

"It's heading for the town! You guys had better figure out how to kill that thing and fast," Regina exclaimed.
