Later on Simmons and Kayla were waiting anxiously for Skye to inform them what was happening with the boy's mission and ran over to her once they saw her approaching.

"Skye! What did you find out? Are they okay?" Kayla asked.

"There are, but they won't be for long" Skye replied.

"What do you mean?" Simmons questioned.

"There's no extraction plan…they've been left there to die" Skye explained.

"What?! We have to help them!" Kayla exclaimed.

"I know! I just don't know how. Coulson won't help" Skye told them.

"Maybe May will" Kayla suggested.

"It's at least worth a try" Skye agreed.

"You got the information. Now we react" May explained, once they had informed her on what was happening.

"We're gonna get our guys" Skye exclaimed.

"Somebody has to" May sighed.

"What about the S.H.I.E.L.D. assault?" Simmons asked.

"We won't interfere. You don't need a battalion for an extraction. Three can pull it off" May told them.

"Four's better" Coulson said suddenly from above them.

"You're in? I thought we all had to be level 8 to discuss this" Skye questioned.

"We're not discussing anything" Coulson smirked.

"Well c'mon on then, let's save those damsels in distress" Kayla grinned.

They had quickly got the Bus in the air and flew to where they boys were and managed to save them just in time. They all came to down to check everyone was alright, and were happy to find neither of them were injured.

"You know for a second there I thought I'd have to find a new supervising office" Kayla said, as she playfully hit Ward on the shoulder.

"Sorry to disappoint" Ward replied, a small smile on his face.

"The truth is I was in good hands" Ward explained, as he gave Fitz a nod.

"Look at you two getting along. This might be the newest bromance on the bus" Kayla grinned.

"What the hell is a bromance?" Ward questioned.

"Dear God, you've got a lot of catching up to do" Kayla exclaimed.

A few weeks later they were checking through alien objects in London.

"Don't say I never gave you anything" Ward exclaimed, as he unloaded a load of debris near Fitz.

"Checking for alien spectrographic signatures one teeny rock at a time" Fitz sighed.

"Necessary precaution. We don't want anything alien getting in the wrong hands" Ward explained.

"Still, this is definitely the type of work a monkey could easily do" Fitz insisted.

"You're our little monkey" Ward said fondly.

"Adorable" Kayla commented as she walked past him, earning an eye roll.

"Don't give me that look. I'll talk to them when I talk to them" Simmons stated, as Fitz stared at her.

"Talk to who?" Ward questioned.

"Mum and Dad. They want explanations and answers for...well, all this. But I don't have any answers. And, more importantly, I haven't talked to them since I was ill. And if they knew that, they'd be even more terrified. So, you know…why waste any of our time, really?" Simmons explained.

"Simmons, if you're parents are really so worried about you that the feel the need to call you every minute, I think you better pick up for your sake" Kayla suggested, as she walked off towards Skye and the others.

"You guys may think its old news, but it's new...news to everybody else. So, Asgardians are aliens from another planet that visited us thousands of years ago?" Skye questioned.

"Or more" Coulson added.

"And because we couldn't understand aliens, we thought they were gods?" Skye inquired.

"That's where our Norse mythology comes from" Coulson explained.

"That's too crazy. Do you think other deities are aliens, too? Vishnu for sure, right?" Skye asked.

"You know, it'd be nice if, for once, Thor and his people sent down the god of cleaning up after yourself. They probably have a magic broom for this kind of thing" Coulson sighed.

"I just wish they'd left their alien ship behind" Skye exclaimed.

"So we can clean that up, too?" May questioned.

"So we could go inside, take a peek under the hood, maybe take it for a spin. Come on, you're telling me piloting an alien ship isn't on your bucket list?" Skye asked.

"I can't think of a single time when anything alien in human hands ended well" Coulson told them.

"Wouldn't mind getting my human hands on Thor. He's so dreamy" Skye admitted.

"Sure, he's handsome, but-" Coulson was cut off.

"No. He's dreamy" May stated, with a small smile.

"I don't know, I think some humans are pretty dreamy as well" Kayla added.

"I wonder who's she talking about" Skye teased, earning a glare from Kayla.

"Fitz, is that, um..." Simmons trailed off, when Fitz's device bleeped.

"Definitely not from here. Another piece from the ship-what are you doing?" Fitz replied, holding up the piece of metal.

"Out of sight...out of mind. That's why we're here. Keep everything under control" Ward explained, to a rather disappointed FitzSimmons.

Kayla couldn't help but smile as she watched Ward try to persuade Simmons into climbing a fallen tree branch and for once he was showing his softer side.

"Kayla, I wanted to ask how you telekinesis training with Ward has been going?" Coulson questioned.

"Um, well that's a very good question…to which the answer is…" Kayla trailed off, obviously disappointed.

"Not going to well?" Coulson guessed.

"Well the last time I actually managed to use it, I pretty much fainted" Kayla admitted.

"You know if it feels too risky we aren't going to make you continue" Coulson explained.

"I want to. There must be some reason why I can't seem to get it going, we just need to figure it out" Kayla exclaimed.

"Alright" Coulson replied, as he called Skye and May back at the bus to see if they had any news.

They soon found out that the two people who had stolen the Asgardian Rod, had already started to attack a city and had engrained the words 'We are Gods' into the ground with fire.

"Subtle" Kayla said sarcastically.

"C'mon, we need to get back to the Bus and figure out who these guys are" Coulson ordered.

"Jakob Nystrom, 30. Girlfriend, Petra Larsen. Leaders of a Norse Paganist hate group" Ward told them all, as he brought up pictures of the couple on the screen.

"And their numbers are growing, thanks to what happened in Greenwich and thanks to the internet. Yay, internet, she said sarcastically" Skye sighed.

"Norse Paganist?" Simmons questioned.

"Obsessed with anything derived from Norse mythology...stories of Asgard" Skye explained.

"And now a weapon" Ward stated, picking up the 3D model.

"The scan only accounted for one side. Too much damage to the tree for complete see here...it's clearly broken on both ends" Fitz explained.

"So there are more pieces?" Ward questioned.

"Yeah. Two at least" Fitz replied.

"Great" Kayla sighed.

"Which means Sid and Nancy may be looking for a complete set. And markings?" Ward inquired.

"The Asgardian symbolism. Hard to translate with our limited knowledge" Coulson told them.

"You should give your buddy the god of thunder a shout. He gets his power from his hammer, right? What if this is his nail to the hammer?" Skye questioned.

"I already did. Director Fury told me he's off the grid. And if he has a cellphone, we don't have the number. S.H.I.E.L.D.'s investigations are on the trail of Nystrom and his followers. We're charged with identifying the object and finding any other pieces before they do" Coulson explained.

"They seem to have some advantage. They found this thing in 150 square kilometers of Norwegian forest" Ward stated.

"Guys. What if it called to them with magic?" Skye asked, looking hopeful.

"Called to them?" May said, raising an eyebrow.

"We know it's Asgardian, so the rules are a little bendy here" Skye insisted, as Ward gave her an unimpressed look.

"Just because we don't understand something yet doesn't mean we should regress back to the dark ages, talking of magic and fairy tales" Simmons told her.

"Actually, that's exactly what we're going to do" Coulson announced.

"Excuse me?" Simmons asked.

"When we first found the hammer in New Mexico, I consulted one of the world's leading experts on Norse mythology...Elliot Randolph, a Professor at a university in Seville. We'll leave immediately. FitzSimmons, you're with me" Coulson told them, before leaving the room.

"Did you know there's mount Thor on Baffin island?" Coulson asked Ward, after they had returned back to the Bus.

"I did not" Ward replied.

"Do you know what's not on mount Thor? Anything Asgardian at all. Our agents on the ground haven't found a thing. What about you?" Coulson questioned Skye.

"Nystrom's deep-web message boards are just abuzz with psychos. They believe they're gonna ascend to be the gods of destruction and death. People suck, sir" Skye announced.

"That's your progress? 'People suck'?" Ward asked, unimpressed, as Kayla nudged him, hinting to stop giving Skye a hard time.

"These people do. And there's also chatter about going underground" Skye added.

"Could mean searching for the next piece" Coulson stated.

"Randolph said to check Viking routes. Find any others?" He continued.

"There's some sites along the Volga river in Russia, some in Kiev, and weirdly, here. In Seville, Spain? It's a long shot, but Vikings sacked Seville twice" Skye told them.

"We found one promising location with Viking relics...El Divino Niño. A church built on the ruins of an 8th-century crypt built on Roman ruins from 206 B.C. East of a river. And lots of bones" May explained.

"Let's see what we can dig up. See what I did there?" Coulson joked, making Skye and Kayla roll their eyes.

"Isn't it a bit weird that there's a site here?" Kayla questioned.

"What do you mean?" Ward asked.

"I'm just saying it's a bit too much of a coincidence" Kayla replied.
