Once they got back to the Bus, Ward immediately went to the bar to pull himself a drink, and to help bring the swelling on his face down.

"I'll pour you a Scotch" Ward said, as May walked towards him.

"Don't ever do that again" May told him, angrily.

"Brandy, then?" Ward questioned.

"When we're out in the field, your head needs to be on the op, not on me" May explained.

"Time-out. Still playing catch-up here. What are you talking about?" Ward inquired.

"You taking a punch for me? I don't need your protection" May stated.

"You think I don't know that? I took that punch 'cause you're faster than me. You could do more good on your feet. It was tactical, not personal" Ward replied.

"My mistake" May admitted.

"Besides, after it took you and me down, it was going to come after Kayla. I was giving her the best fighting chance" Ward exclaimed, as he walked out of the room.

Meanwhile, Kayla was lying in her bunk, contemplating the day, when she heard soft crying from the bunk next door. She slowly lifted herself off the bed, and knocked on Skye's door.

"Hey? You okay?" Kayla asked, softly.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine" Skye stuttered.

"Sure you are. Let me in Skye" Kayla retorted.

"Honestly, I'm fine!" Skye exclaimed.

"You want me to use telekinesis on this door? Because you know-" Kayla was cut off when the door opened.

"Oh Skye, come here" Kayla said, as she took in Skye's crumpled appearance.

Skye instantly rushed into her arms, crying on her shoulder, as Kayla closed the door.

"What's wrong, sweetheart?" Kayla asked, as she lowered them onto the bed.

"M-May explained, that I needed to forget about…searching for my family…put aside family attachments" Skye sniffled.

"Well I know more than anyone that finding family doesn't always work well…but Skye, you need to figure out what's best for you" Kayla explained, hugging the girl tighter.

"I missed our chats" Skye admitted.

"So do I" Kayla replied.

It was late that night when Mike got the call from Raina, stating that she wanted to trade Mike for his son. The whole team went along with it, knowing that a child's life was in their hands. Coulson would make the transfer, while the others would stay in the car, ready to transmit a tracking device. Meanwhile, Ward and Kayla were directed to one of the roofs nearby so they could shoot if things went wrong.

"I'm not happy about this" Ward stated, as he set up the equipment.

"It'll be fine" Kayla insisted.

"This is dangerous, we could easily be shot-" Ward was quickly cut off by Kayla.

"Well then I suppose it's a good thing I have my healing abilities" Kayla explained.

"Damn it" Ward said, as the transfer went on behind a truck.

"Do you think they know we're here?" Kayla inquired.

"Possibly" Ward replied.

"What happened?! They took Coulson! Alright, call it in, we need back up" Ward exclaimed, as they let Mike and his son go.

"I have a shot" Ward said, as he followed Raina.

"Do not engage, they'll kill Coulson. I'll radio HQ" May explained.

"Oh my God!" Kayla cried, as suddenly the bridge exploded, as Mike ran back.

"Where's Coulson?" Ward asked, as the car exploded.

Out of nowhere, a helicopter emerged, and as it flew past it started firing out Ward and Kayla. She quickly pushed Ward out of the way, taking the first hits. She then fell to the ground, as they continued firing, hitting Ward as well.

Two days later, and the team had been sent on a mission to find information about where Coulson was, but when Kayla asked to go, Agent Hand shot her down straight away, saying that she wasn't fit for the field. She had taken quite a few shots from protecting Ward, but he still managed to get shot in the shoulder. When the team arrived back, she wasn't happy to find Ward had re-opened all of his stiches from where he was shot.

"Seriously!" Kayla exclaimed, flicking his head, when she entered the room.

"Hey! What was that for?" Ward asked.

"Did you purposely try to re-open all of your stiches?" Kayla retorted.

"I'm fine" Ward replied.

"Says the guy who got shot two days ago" Kayla mumbled.

"Says the girl who got shot multiple times two days ago" Ward insisted.

"Just stop getting hurt alright? God" Kayla sighed, as she walked away to go to Hand's newest meeting.

"The burnt remains recovered at the site are believed to be those of Agent trainee Michael Peterson. Other physical evidence has proven scarce. Nothing relating to Mr. Po, his Centipede associates, or their location has been found" Hand announced.

"Any progress with Vanchat?" Ward inquired, as he went to stand next to Kayla.

"Nothing actionable, Agent Ward, but I have my best interrogator in there right now. Vanchat will talk, and rest assured, when he does, not a single stone will be left unturned until we take down Centipede" Hand explained.

"And get Coulson back" FitzSimmons added.

"We have a security breach. Someone's hacking the system" Hand stated, as alarm bells started ringing.

"I wonder who that could be…" Kayla trailed off.

"Just in time. Can you override this?" Skye questioned, as they opened the door to her bunk.

"What do you think you're doing?" Hand questioned.

"The money trail's our key to finding Coulson. I just need to gain access to Vanchat's financials, and from there, I should be able to trace Centipede's payments and then hack into their account" Skye told her.

"You're the consultant...the one who shot Agent Sitwell" Hand realised.

"Technically, that wasn't me..." Skye trailed off.

"I want you off this plane immediately" Hand announced.

"What?!" Kayla asked.

"Wait. I know I'm not some badass field agent like May or Ward, but this is what I do. You can't just kick me off this mission. Listen, I will do whatever you say. All this protocol crap doesn't matter to me. All that matters to me is Coulson" Skye insisted.

"Well, "all this protocol crap" matters to me. You're a distraction, and you're gone" Hand explained.

"You can't do this!" Kayla exclaimed, as she looked at Ward, wanting him to step in.

"Agent Hand, I know Skye's methods are unorthodox, but she's a member of this team. She can help" Ward told her.

"Agent May, your professional opinion...Will this girl be of any use to us on this plane?" Hand inquired.

"No" May replied.

"Increase her restriction level. Confiscate her laptop and phone, then have her delivered to debrief" Hand announced.

"If Skye goes, then I go with her" Kayla insisted.

"No, you will stay on this plane where we can all keep an eye on you and your powers" Hand told her.

"That wasn't part of the deal!" Kayla said, angrily.

"I suggest you calm yourself, or you'll have to be restrained" Hand retorted, as Ward put a hand on Kayla's solder.

"I'll do it. I'm her S.O" May exclaimed.

"No, I don't want anything from you" Skye spat, walking away, with Kayla quickly following behind.

Author's Notes: I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! Thought I should put some more interactions in between Skye and Kayla in, because I noticed they've been lacking. Please leave a review:)
