It was a while later, and Kayla was trying to get her hand out of the handcuffs, but it was no use. She heard the door open and looked away, hoping whoever it was would go away. She wasn't that lucky, and could see Ward start to approach her, but she wouldn't look up at him. He soon crouched down so that he was right in front of her, and reached out, a cloth in his hand. She instantly backed up, in fear.

"Your wound will heal quicker if we clean it" He announced.

She had completely forgotten about the head wound she had got in the car accident, but could now start to feel the throbbing from the top of her head. He reached out again and gently pressed the wet cloth against Kayla's forehead, she flinched away, scrunching her eyes shut. Ward knew it wasn't from the pain. Not being able to put much pressure onto the cut, Ward placed his other hand on her neck, but she shrugged him off.

"I can do it myself" She told him, ripping the cloth away from him and placing it onto her cut.

"I'm sorry" He sighed, sitting on the step below her.

"For what? Lying to us? Betraying us? Or how about all the people you've killed?" Kayla spat out.

"For everything…it wasn't supposed to be this way" He exclaimed.

"You were just going to run weren't you? We'd never know what happened to you" She suggested.

"It would have been for the best" He stated.

"For you…you're a damn coward" She retorted.

"I know" He mumbled.

"Why?" Kayla inquired.

"Why what?" He asked.

"Why have you stuck with Garrett through all of this?" She questioned.

"I owe him everything…I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him" Ward explained.

"Well I don't owe him anything, why can't you let me go?" She inquired.

"He's…sick…" Ward trailed off.

"…And he wants to use my healing powers to help him. Great, so that means a whole lot of experimenting" Kayla sighed.

"That's why we need to hard drive as well...the teams work on the GH 325 formula" Ward told her.

"So this whole time you've been Garrett's little lap dog" Kayla said, shaking her head.

"He's going to die without this…I can't let that happen" Ward stated.

"I get it now…it's me or the hard drive isn't it?" Kayla asked.

"If you open it, I'm sure Garrett would let you go" Ward exclaimed.

"No, I won't open it. I know what Hydra will do with all those secrets. I'd rather I die than hundreds of others" Kayla admitted.

"You're not going to have a choice. At some point Deathlok is going to force you to open it. Even if I try to fight against him, the guys got freaking rockets in his arms…I won't be able to stop him" Ward insisted.

"The answers still no" Kayla stated.

"Time's up. Garrett's done waiting" Deathlok announced, walking into the room, as Ward instantly got up and walked towards him.

"I'll die before I'll tell you" Kayla informed him, standing up.

"You will tell us" Deathlok insisted.

"Listen, I know you don't want to do this. You don't have to, you have a choice" Kayla told him.

"It's not up to me" Deathlok retorted.

"Yes, it is. I don't care what they did to you. If you do this, so many people are going to die" Kayla proclaimed.

"Hydra can hurt my son anytime they want, and if I get any funny ideas about rescuing him, they push a little button and blow a hole in my skull. So no, I don't have a choice" Deathlok exclaimed.

"There's no way out of this, Kayla. Tell us...how to unlock...the drive" Deathlok said menacingly.

"No" Kayla replied.

"Damn it, Kayla…" Ward trailed off.

"Do your worst. I won't talk" Kayla remarked.

"Fine" Deathlok stated, as he raised his arm, as a small device hit Ward in the chest, making him gasp and slowly fall to the ground.

"What...what did you do to him?" Kayla asked, as Ward clutched his chest.

"Stopped his heart…He's having a heart attack. I can restart it or not. It's your choice" Deathlok explained.

"Kayla" Ward panted out, and then a moment later seemed to stop breathing.

"Stop it" Kayla told him.

"Where do you unlock the drive?" Deathlok questioned.

"Bring him back!" Kayla insisted.

"Where?" Deathlok asked.

"35,000 feet. It's not based on longitude and latitude. It's altitude" Kayla admitted.

"You're lying" Deathlok sneered.

I'm not! I put the password in and I...I start the hack. And once we reach altitude, it unlocks. Now bring him back! Quickly!" She shouted, as Deathlok restarted Ward's heart.

"Put the password in. Start the hack. No tricks" Deathlok exclaimed, as he unlocked one of the cuffs that was tied to the railing and marched her other to her laptop.

"Now" He insisted, when he saw she was still looking at Ward though the door.

"You...you son of a bitch" Ward stuttered, as Deathlok pulled him up.

"Now get the plane in the air" Deathlok ordered him.

"I can't. I can barely stand" He panted, as Deathlok extended his hand, making Ward's heartbeat faster.

"That should help" Deathlok stated, patting him on his cheek and walking away.

Kayla had been sitting in one of the interrogation rooms for the last 10 minutes, trying to squeeze her hands out of the handcuffs which were now attached the both her hands. Suddenly the door burst open, revealing Skye and Coulson.

"Oh thank God" Kayla cried, as Skye hugged her tightly.

"Are you okay? Did Ward hurt you?" Skye questioned, as Kayla shook her head.

"I'm sorry, the encryption hard drive…I unlocked it" Kayla told them.

"Forget that, we need to move. We need to take the cockpit" Coulson informed them.

"Wait, it's only you two?" Kayla asked, as they walked out the room.

"It's okay, we can take Ward" Skye exclaimed.

"Uh, even if you could…I'm pretty sure you couldn't take Deathlok as well" Kayla explained.

"Deathlok's here?" Coulson questioned, as he came into view behind them.

"New plan. Run" Coulson announced, as he saw Deathlok approaching.

"What about you?" Skye questioned.

"Get to the cargo hold. Now" Coulson insisted.

"But-" Skye started, but was quickly cut off by Kayla.

"Go, Skye. I've got this" Kayla said, as Skye ran out the room.

"I can't let you leave with her Agent Coulson" Deathlok stated.

"It's still my plane. I don't need your permission" Coulson retorted, opening the cargo hold.

He then revealed a gun and started shooting at them, Kayla quickly shielded Coulson, taking a few hits.

"Go, go" Kayla exclaimed, as Deathlok started to run after them.

Just before they went down the stairs, Deathlok made a grab for Coulson, which Kayla quickly intercepted by pushing him over. Coulson was already down the stairs as Skye was getting into Lola.

"C'mon Kayla!" Skye announced, as Kayla quickly ran down the stairs.

Just before she could reach the car, Deathlok jumped down the stairs and grabbed her from behind, lifting her off the ground.

"Get off of me!" Kayla told him, trying to wriggle free.

Ward entered the scene, unsure of how he should proceed. Meanwhile, Kayla heat butted Deathlok, making them both stumble back, but he didn't release his grip on her. Instantly, he grabbed her by the neck, and twisted, as a sickening snap could be heard.

"Kayla!" Ward and Skye shouted at the same time.

Coulson then reversed back, seeing it as their best opportunity to escape unscathed.

"Wait, no-" Skye was cut off as they reversed off the Bus and into the air.
