Ward had quickly ran down the stairs and dropped to Kayla's side, who Deathlok had dropped to the ground.

"Why the hell did you do that?!" Ward yelled angrily.

"I was told to. She's alive, anyway" He retorted, and walked away.

Ward lifted Kayla up to lay her head on his lap, and waited until she woke up. It was only a minute later when her eyes slowly opened and she started to make a horrible, groaning, gasping sound. She quickly clutched her neck, tears welling in her eyes. Ward realised that her neck must still be snapped, so she couldn't breathe properly.

"Hey, hey, it's okay" Ward tried to soothe, but she was freaking out.

"I'm going to have to snap it back into positon okay…it's going to hurt" Ward informed her.

He then slowly brought her neck in between his elbow, as Kayla clutched onto his arm.

"It's okay, shh" He exclaimed.

A moment later, he pulled his elbow inwards, and heard a small snap, accompanied by a harsh cry from Kayla. She then started to cough up blood, while Ward rubbed her back, obviously still in a lot of pain. Once she had brought everything up, she slumped back into his arms, too weak to even try to move and blacked out.

When she woke up she was back in the interrogation room, her head on the table. She tried to push herself up, but groaned in pain instead.

"Hey, let me" A voice said from her side, as hands helped push her back to the chair.

She looked up to see it was Ward, who was looking at her with worry clear on his face.

"W-water" She stuttered, her throat felt terrible.

"Here" He said, handing her a bottle which she quickly drank from.

It didn't make her feel a lot better, but it did quench her thirst.

"Are you alright?" He questioned.

"Of course I'm not alright" She retorted, as he went to sit in the seat opposite her.

"The color's started to go back to normal on your neck…it turned blue before" He explained.

"How long have I been out?" She inquired.

"A few hours" Ward replied.

"I'm going to kill that guy" Kayla spat out, as she tried to move her neck.

"No, you won't" He stated.

"Why'd you do it?" He continued, a moment later.

"Why'd I do what?" She asked.

"Save me…why?" He requested.

"…I didn't want you to die…I really need to beat your ass into the ground before that" Kayla explained, making Ward chuckle.

"When did you meet Garrett? It sounded like you've known him for a long time" Kayla queried.

"When I was 15" He told her.

"That's why you're loyal to him? Because he's looked after you since you were a teenager?" Kayla inquired.

"I wouldn't be here without him" Ward stated.

"Can't you see how evil he is?" Kayla asked.

"He's been like a father to me" Ward explained.

"A pretty crap one. Is he the one who did that?" She questioned, indicating to the wounds he got before coming to the base.

"I-I asked him to do that. It was for the cover" Ward told her.

"Even you don't believe that" She exclaimed.

"Kayla, it's-" Ward started, but was quickly cut off by Kayla.

"Just don't, Ward. You had a choice before, him or me. And we both know who you chose" Kayla announced, turning her head away from him.

Ward reluctantly stood up and walked out of the room, trying to remember that Kayla was a weakness. He didn't want to be weak did he?

It was an hour later and they had finally landed. Ward escorted Kayla off the Bus, his hands on her arms to keep her from running. When they got off the Bus, they could see Garrett and around 10 Hydra soldiers standing by a smaller plane. Kayla was trying not to freak out, but she knew this was the end. There was no way out now, it was too late. While Kayla was thinking this, Ward's hands had dropped to her own and were now holding them tightly.

"I don't care about being weak…I choose you" He whispered in her ear, as he unlocked the handcuffs.

"Make it look good" He stated.

Kayla quickly head butted him, making him fall backwards. The Hydra soldiers charged towards her, and aimed their guns on her. Before she could make a run for it they quickly fired, and she put her hands up to shield her from the onslaught. She slowly looked up when she realised she hadn't been hit, and now saw that the bullets were hovering in the air close to her. On instinct, she moved her hands, the bullets doing the same, and then outstretched them, making the bullets fly into the Hydra soldiers. With them down, she spared a glance at Ward once last time, before she ran and found cover in a nearby forest.

It didn't take long for Kayla to track down the team on CCTV, and quickly made her way to the motel that they were staying in. When she walked through the gates, the sun had already started to set. Everyone looked up at her in shock, not understanding how she could have escaped. Before anyone could say anything, however, Kayla had marched up to Coulson, and punched him so hard that he fell backwards.

"Kayla?! What the hell?" Skye exclaimed, as she dropped to Coulson's side.

"You deserve that" Kayla retorted.

"What's going on?" Simmons questioned, as she and Fitz came running over.

"He left me to die" Kayla explained.

"We would all have been captured, it was for the greater good" Coulson insisted.

"Did you actually just say that? The greater good?! Um, who's the one with freaky healing powers and telekinesis? Oh yeah, me. If Hydra got their hands on me, it would be game over for everyone" Kayla spat out.

"I couldn't let Skye get captured" Coulson told her.

"That's the last time I ever take a bullet for you" Kayla said to him, before angrily walking away.

A few minutes later, FitzSimmons came to sit with her by the pool, obviously worried.

"Can I have a look at your neck?" Simmons asked, as Kayla nodded.

"…The bruising looks like it's going down nicely, can you rotate it?" Simmons questioned.

"It's fine" Kayla stated.

"Let me just-" Simmons said, as she reached out to touch Kayla's neck, but she quickly flinched away.

"I'm sorry Kayla…I can't imagine what you must be feeling" Simmons exclaimed, as Kayla put her head into her hands.

"Did Ward…did he…" Fitz trailed off.

"No, it was Deathlok" Kayla replied.

"I knew Ward wouldn't hurt you" Fitz announced.

"He did hurt me, Fitz" Kayla retorted.

"Can I get a room?" Kayla inquired.

"Oh, of course, I'll go do that" Simmons told them, as she got up.

"Do you think Ward's been brainwashed?" Fitz asked.

"No, he's just…messed up" Kayla exclaimed.

"Then we should help him" Fitz stated.

"Some people are too far gone to be saved" Kayla explained.

Author's Notes: I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! This couple are going to be the death of me I swear. Also, what do you think Ward's twist next episode is going to be? Praying for either Hellfire or he's trying to take down Hydra, but it'll probably just be something stupid to destroy his character tbh. Please leave a review:)
