Later that night, Kayla was trying to sleep in the uncomfortable motel bed, but it was no good. She had been tossing and turning for hours. She had been moved into Skye's room, who had an extra bed and could hear her soft breathing.

"Skye, are you awake?" Kayla whispered, but go no reply.

"Skye?" She repeated, but still got nothing.

She turned to face the other side, and let out a loud sigh. A weird thing she had picked up over the years was being able to tell if someone was awake or not, and right now, she knew without a doubt that Skye was awake.

Across the room, Skye let out her own sigh. It wasn't that she didn't want to comfort Kayla, but more that she didn't know what to say. She was angry as hell right now, and she knew that wouldn't make Kayla feel any better.

Kayla started to toss and turn in her sleep, mumbling incoherently.

"Kayla? Kayla, wake up" A voice announced, nudging her.

"Hm? What's going on?" She mumbled, rubbing her eyes.

"I need your help" The voice stated.

She looked up to see her best friend Emma, standing over her bed, with a scared expression on her face.

"What's wrong?" Kayla questioned.

"I screwed up…bad. I didn't mean for it all to get so out of hand" She exclaimed, showing Kayla a small gold necklace.

"You stole it? Emma, you said you stopped" She accused.

"I know, I'm sorry" She sighed.

"Where did you get it from?" Kayla inquired.

"A few doors down…but Kayla, they saw me" She told her.

"What?!" She inquired.

"Well not my face, but they could see I was a teenager with brown hair. They're already downstairs!" She explained.

"Oh God…" Kayla trailed off.

"What do I do?" She questioned.

"You'll have to own up, it will look better if you do that" Kayla suggested.

"No, no…" She said, freaking out.

"Hey, it's alright. They can't connect you to another of the other times" Kayla explained.

"You don't get it…the women she saw me…I…I pushed her down the stairs" Emma told her.

"What? Was she alright?" Kayla inquired.

"I don't know…I just ran. Oh God, I'm going to go down for this. I'm only 13" She exclaimed.

"Okay…maybe we should hide it?" Kayla questioned.

"Yeah, okay…we could put it under the wardrobe. Hold it" She suggested, as she walked over.

Suddenly the head care worker and two policemen burst into the room.

"…It was her! She just jumped in through the window!" Emma announced, pointing to Kayla.

"What? I-" Kayla started, but was quickly cut off.

"Look, she's even holding the necklace" Emma stated.

"You're under arrest for robbery and actual bodily harm. You have the right to remain silent anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to be speak to an attorney, and to have an attorney present during any questioning. If you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be provided for you" One of the policemen explained, handcuffing her.

"It wasn't me! I didn't…Emma, tell them!" Kayla shouted, as she started to get dragged away.

"Let go of me!" She exclaimed.

"Kayla? Kayla!" She felt some shaking her from her sleep.

"Skye…what's…" She trailed off, disorientated.

"You were shouting in your sleep" She stated.

"Oh…sorry" She sighed, rubbing a hand down her face.

"It's four in the morning…let's just go back to sleep, okay?" Skye announced.

"Yeah…okay" Kayla replied, as she laid her head down onto the pillow.

It didn't take long for her to fall back asleep, but soon she was hit with another memory.

"Kayla, its okay, just calm down" The guy across from her stated.

"Calm down? There are crazy guys after me!" She exclaimed.

"Well you did want to start digging for your family" Her roommate, Craig, acknowledged.

"I just wanted to know where I came from…I didn't realise that they would send people after me" She explained.

"Look, we've gone two states over, there's no way they could have followed us" He told her.

"I guess…" She trailed off.

"God, could this week get any worse?" She questioned, with a sigh, placing her head in her hands.

When she looked back up, she spotted a man in a suit in the corner of her eye and gasped.

"Oh my God…that's one of the guys that was looking for me" She cried.

"Kayla, I'm sure you're just imagining things" He insisted.

"No, I'm not. We need to go, now" Kayla replied.

"…I'm sorry, it's too late" He exclaimed.

"What are you talking about?" Kayla asked.

With a sigh, he passed her his phone, which she saw had a GPS tracker on it.

"You're handing me over to them?" Kayla questioned.

"I…they offered me so much money. I couldn't say no" He admitted.

"I've known you for two years! How could you just sell me out for money?!" She retorted.

"It wasn't personal" He replied, as he got up from the table and left, as another man sat down in his place.

"Hey, sis" He smirked.

With a gasp, she shot up from her bed, wet tears on her face.

"Kayla, we've got something" Skye announced, opening the door to the room.

"…Okay…I'm coming" Kayla mumbled.

Kayla explained to them that she had uploaded a Trojan horse onto the hard drive, which when she plugged her USB stick in, would be able to map out all of Hydra's systems. They soon realised that Cybertek and Hydra had been using the same systems, so they could plug it onto one of Cybertek's computers. While the team went into one of Cybertek's bases to try and get the information, Kayla stayed at the motel, still too upset to go on a mission.

"Garrett started project Deathlok way back in 1990. Look at this. He was patient zero" Coulson announced, when they looked through Garrett's file they had found.

"This is what Ward must have meant when he said Garrett was dying" Kayla realised.

"We've been looking at all this backwards. Garrett doesn't just want GH-325 for his Centipede soldiers. He wants it for himself so he can become a real, live boy again. And if he happens to create an army of programmed super soldiers for Hydra along the way, triple bonus points" Skye explained.

"How do we know Garrett didn't do that to Ward, too? Maybe he's been programmed" Fitz suggested.

"Fitz, when are you going to stop clinging to the idea that Ward's the victim and not the perpetrator?" Simmons questioned.

"When I see something that tells me I shouldn't with my own two eyes. We don't know all the facts" Fitz retorted.

"Look guys, Ward's a victim and a perpetrator…but Fitz he's not who you thought he was" Kayla insisted.

"Wait, do you actually feel sorry for him? Is that why you saved him?" Skye inquired.

"I didn't save him, I just didn't sign his death warrant" Kayla stated.

"Well you should have. It was stupid" Skye told her.

"Can we just stop talking about Ward, for God's sake?" Kayla shouted, as she stormed off to their room.

"Pizza delivery for Pablo Jimenez?" A man called out, with a pizza in his hand.

"That's me" Coulson replied, as he went to pay the man.
