*Trigger warnings for self harm and suicide!*

She found Skye in her room shortly after, scaring the girl as she barged in.

"What the hell, Kayla?!" Skye shouted, jumping from her bed.

"Tell me" Kayla said, shutting the door.

"Tell you what?" Skye inquired.

"I want to know about every time you went down there…word for word" Kayla explained.

"Coulson told you he's down there" Skye realised.

"When did it start?" Kayla queried.

"The first time I went down there was when Fitz woke up and we found out about his brain damaged" Skye announced.

"And he tried to kill himself" Kayla exclaimed.

"You're not seriously believing all that are you? It's an act" Skye retorted.

"An act? How can running into a wall because you want to die be an act?" Kayla shouted, making Skye jump.

Kayla took a deep breath to stop herself from doing anything stupid and marched away to her own room, hacking into the system. She quickly found the feed for the last six months from Vault D. She then found Skye's first log into the cell and pressed play.

"…Skye…what are you doing here?" Ward inquired, from where he was sitting on his bed.

"I thought I should tell you the news. It's about Fitz" She started, as Ward instantly got up from his bed, and walked towards her.

"He's awake? Is her okay?" He questioned.

"No, he's not. He's got brain damage. They're not sure how bad yet" Skye told him, as Ward's face turned into a look of horror.

"I went to see him today and all he could do was slur a few words. They're not sure if he'll ever be able to do more than that" Skye announced.

"No…he'll get better" Ward insisted.

"No, he won't. Fitz relied on his brain, it was what made him special. And you took that away from him. He'll probably not want to even live anymore" Skye explained.

"No…" Ward trailed off, shaking his head.

"You destroyed his life. He looked up to you, he trusted you. You all but murdered him" Skye spat out, as Ward turned away from her.

"It should be you in his place. Everyone would be better off if you were dead" She stated, before she angrily walked out of the room.

A few minutes later, Ward had frantically pulled a button away from his trousers and cut a long strip down his wrist, blood pouring out. Kayla let out a gasp, as she saw him try to cut deeper and deeper until the medics rushed in a sedated him. They then carted him off and stitched him up. Skye came about once a week after that and would tell Ward about all the bad things that had happened to the team that week. When she heard Simmons cry herself to sleep, how Fitz would become so angry when he couldn't remember a word, how she hadn't even seen Kayla for a week because she was locked up in her room. She soon found that feed for the day that Simmons left, and watched as Skye entered the room. Ward turned his back to her as soon as she approached, knowing she would only bring bad news.

"Simmons has gone" Skye announced.

Ward quickly turned around at this, and Kayla could see on his face for a moment he thought she might be dead.

"She left to go undercover. She can't face being around Fitz anymore" Skye continued.

"Undercover where?" Ward asked.

"Hydra…how long do you think sweet little Simmons is going to last there, huh? You've sent her off to her death!" Skye exclaimed, as Ward turned away again.

"There's no FitzSimmons anymore. In fact, I don't even think there's a Fitz. There's just a shell" Skye told him, as Ward started to shake his head.

"And you know what's worse? Simmons blames Kayla for what happened to Fitz. These past three months she's made Kayla's life a living hell. I think even Kayla has started to think that it's her fault" Skye explained.

"No, no" Ward repeated.

"You've destroyed everything" She shouted, before she abruptly left the room.

A moment later, Ward grabbed the paper that he had been given to write information on and started folding it obsessively. Once again he started to cut a long line down his other wrist. He let out a scream of frustration as it didn't seem to cut as deep. He started to zig-zag over the cut, to try to make it deeper, but soon the medics came, and once again hauled him off. Kayla had to pause the video for a moment, trying to regain her composure. Seeing Ward try to commit suicide was so painful to watch. She remembered that the last time Ward had tried to kill himself was after the incident in Iowa, and thought back to that day.

*Flashback*

They had just saved a group of people from a burning building after a powered person had gone crazy and started to tear up their work place. They had already been put down, and Kayla was ushering the last survivor down the steps when she stopped. She turned around to look at the dead man on the ground. He looked peaceful, maybe even happy. She wondered if fire would be able to kill her. She figured that as long as it burnt her enough, it should. Slowly, as if in a dream, she walked towards the flames, and was about to reach out, when she felt someone violently pull her back.

"What the hell are you doing?" Skye cried, in horror.

"I…I just want it to end" Kayla replied, pulling her arm away.

"You were trying to kill yourself?! Kayla, why?" Skye questioned.

"Because I want to be dead. It kills me having to see Fitz like he is every day, knowing it's my fault. Simmons knew it, you know it. I should be dead, I deserve it" Kayla explained.

"No! Kayla, Fitz needs you. You're the only person who seems to be able to get through to him. Now Simmons has left…if you died, I don't know what he'd do" Skye insisted.

"What would you do if I died?" Kayla asked.

"I…I'd be devastated" Skye replied.

"…You used to say that you wouldn't know how to live without me" Kayla said, giving Skye a sad look before she walked down the stairs.

*End of Flashback*

Had she told Ward what had happened in that building? Kayla quickly found the feed for that day and started to watch it. Skye had dirt on her face, and singed clothes when she ran down the stairs, a terrifying look on her face.

"You bastard!" Skye shouted, shocking Ward.

"What's happened?!" Ward inquired, taking in Skye's appearance.

"She wanted to die, and it's all your fault!" Skye screamed.

"W…who?" Ward stuttered.

"Kayla! She was going to get herself burnt alive because she felt so guilty about what happened to Fitz. Because of what you did!" Skye explained.

"No…she wouldn't…" Ward trailed off.

"She tried to kill herself, if I wasn't there she'd be dead" Skye insisted, as Ward sat down on his bed and put his head into his hands.

"She hates herself and it's your fault" Skye spat, as Ward started rocking his head.

"Her memories of you still haunt her…and you're too weak to even do anything about it" Skye announced, Ward's head shooting up at the word 'weak'.

Skye then ran out of the room, tears in her eyes. Kayla looked back to Ward and saw that he was now mumbling things to himself as he started to shake. She could only make out certain words like 'killing' and 'weak'. He slowly lifted his head up and looked at the opposite wall. A moment later he had stood up and charged into the wall, his head banging on impact. Kayla let out a low sob as she saw him do this multiple times until his head was a bloody mess and he could no longer stand. The medics quickly rushed in and started to patch him up. He didn't stop however, and now started violently banging his head against the floor. They soon sedated him and rushed him out of the room, leaving a pool of blood behind. Kayla only realised that she had been crying when she saw a few teardrops hit the screen. The next log wasn't until a few days later, when Ward was thrown onto his bed, a large bandage around his head. He didn't move from his position on his bed that night. Suspicious, Kayla zoomed in to see what was happening. He was turned away from the camera, but she could see that he was holding some sort of paper in his hands. She was worried that he might use it to cut himself, so she quickly zoomed in more and this time got a better picture. She let out a small gasp when she saw it was a picture of them both, probably not from long before his betrayal was revealed. They were both smiling at the camera, which was a rarity for Ward. He had his arm around her waist, and they both had their heads squished together. Kayla then shut her laptop lid and allowed herself to cry for the first time in months. Meanwhile, down in the vault Ward was laying on his side, careful to stay out of the view of the cameras. Kayla had worried him earlier, and he was praying that she hadn't done anything stupid. It was so good to see her after months of having to remember her face from a small photo. He got the said picture out and stared at it for a minute. He hoped someday she would smile at him like that again.

Author's Notes: I hope you enjoyed this really long chapter! This was a really sad chapter, but I hope it gives a bit more detail on everything that happened. Also I know Skye might seem a little OOC, but she's so angry at Ward for hurting her best friend, but unfortunately her anger seems to be pushing them even further apart. I am continuing with my Teen Wolf story next week, so if you used to read that, just go on my profile for updates:) Please leave a review!
