"Where are you going?" Fitz inquired, as Kayla zipped up her suitcase.

"I just want to get away from all this for a few days, am I not allowed?" Kayla questioned.

"You're going to meet up with him, aren't you?" Fitz suggested.

"No" Kayla replied, taking her suitcase of the bed.

"Kayla…just be careful. He's not a good guy remember" Fitz told her.

"I know. You're the only good guy in my life" Kayla smiled at him, as she pulled him into a tight hug.

"You're coming back, right?" Fitz asked, hugging her just as tightly.

"Of course, I am. I can't leave you at the mercy of these guys" Kayla stated, pulling away.

"Call me every day, yeah?" Fitz insisted.

"Yes, mum" Kayla giggled, as she pulled the case out of the room.

True to her word she called Fitz the next day and found out loads of things had happened. They had found a map for some sort of ancient city that they were now searching for and Ward had given them a little present in the shape of a man named Sunil Bakshi. Speaking of Ward, she knew exactly where he would be…with his older brother. It wasn't hard to track him down to his family's house, and carefully started to walk through the woods. She was surprised when she saw a man running in the opposite direction and put two and two together, realising it was Ward's brother. She made a tugging hand motion, and watched with a smirk as he fell to the ground instantly. Ward soon came running past, confused to see his brother on the ground.

"You should really think about getting a tighter leash" Kayla announced, coming out of the woods.

"How…how did you find me?" Ward inquired.

"Used this little thing called my brain, you wouldn't know about it" Kayla shrugged.

"I have a little unfinished business and then I swear I'll put all my efforts into finding Skye's father" Ward explained.

"What are you going to do with him?" Kayla nodded, towards the man scrambling upright.

"I'm going to get the truth from him" Ward replied.

"And then?" Kayla asked.

"It all depends on what answer he gives me" Ward exclaimed.

"Does one of this options include killing him?" Kayla questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes…look, I know it's-" Ward started, but she cut him off.

"I'm not judging you. Hell, if I was in your position I'd probably kill him…just get searching for Skye's father as soon as possible" Kayla confessed.

"I will" Ward nodded.

She looked thoughtfully at Ward, taking in his shaven hair and beard, noting he had gone back to his normal stubble. It was strange just standing out in the open with him, not having anything between them. It made her feel...vulnerable.

"What happened to your hair?" Kayla inquired.

"I'm on the run...I figured people won't be looking for a man with a buzz cut" Ward shrugged.

"I don't like it" She told him, shaking her head.

"Is that really the thing you dislike the most about me?" Ward asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Trust is a lot like hair, you know. It takes time to grow back, but can be taken away again in a couple of minutes. Don't screw me over, Ward" Kayla warned him.

"I promised you, I'm going to find Skye's father. I'll keep to my word" He insisted, as she nodded in response.

As she walked away, she couldn't help but raise her hand again, this time throwing Ward's brother into a nearby tree.

"Couldn't resist" Kayla called over to him, as he smirked.

When Kayla got back to S.H.I.E.L.D everyone was on high alert about the city and they were now bringing Raina in after Hydra had tried to capture her. There had also been another run in with Skye's father and Kayla was guessing by now that Ward was closing in on him. On Coulson's orders Skye and Kayla were sent to interrogate Raina, but they both knew it was because Coulson didn't want Skye anywhere near her father and…well, he just didn't trust Kayla. Soon the team were leaving apart from them, May and Trip.

"Be careful" Kayla told Fitz, giving him a hug.

"You too, don't let Raina play any of her mind games" Fitz advised.

"I know, I know, she's a manipulative bitch" Kayla said, pulling away.

"Good luck" Fitz stated.

"You too" Kayla replied, with a reassuring smile, as they left to climb the stairs to the other jet.

"He's like a brother to you, isn't he?" Trip questioned, coming up from behind her.

"Yep, a dorky little brother" Kayla nodded.

"You know he's about 7 years older than you, right?" Trip laughed.

"Well he's about the same height, so" Kayla shrugged, making Trip laugh some more.

A little while alter, they were having to take out the Hydra soldiers who were trying to re-capture Raina, while Skye sneaked her out of the building and onto the BUS. However, Kayla realised something was wrong when Skye's comm's went offline. She quickly tracked her down to a room in the building, and was confused when she saw May attacking her. She quickly flung to women into a nearby wall, knocking her unconscious.

"Are you okay?" Kayla questioned, running over to Skye, whose nose was bleeding.

"I'll live" Skye panted.

"Why does that women look like May?" Kayla inquired.

"She's May's evil twin, formerly named Agent 33. Brainwashed" Skye replied.

"Wait, brainwashed?!" Kayla exclaimed.

"Come on, there will be more on the way soon" Hunter called out to him.

"We can't just leave her here!" Kayla suggested.

"Why bloody not?" Hunter retorted.

"She's been brainwashed, we need to help her" Kayla insisted.

"Kayla, we need to go" Skye told her.

"Just go, I'll catch up" Kayla dismissed, as the two reluctantly did so.

She put her hand to the girl's pulse and was thankful when she felt a strong heartbeat. This was probably going to be a massive mistake, but she couldn't just leave the woman here, not when she wasn't in control of herself. She sat her up right, and started patting her face lightly as she came to, the woman instantly panicking when she saw Kayla looming over her.

Also, next chapter Kayla will be meeting Kara...I wonder how that will turn out. I've had a very bad couple of weeks recently due to illness, that doesn't seem to be getting much better, so sorry in advance if updates become sporadic. Please leave a review:)
