Soon Skye's father was waking up, from where he had been dropped on the floor, as Whitehall walked into the room.
"Did he hurt you?" Cal questioned Skye, as she shook her head.
"Oh, good. You're awake" Whitehall stated, walking towards them.
"I've waited years for this" Cal cried, as he lunged towards Whitehall, but suddenly fell to the ground in pain. He had some sort of device on his neck which Whitehall seemed to be able to control.
"Do you know what your mother's special gift was?" Whitehall asked Skye.
"No" Skye replied.
"She didn't age. At least, not like the rest of us. I wonder if that's your gift, as well, or if you're special in another way. Discovery requires experimentation" Whitehall smirked, tapping her leg, making Kayla tense.
"I killed your wife. And before I kill you, I want you to watch what I do to your daughter" Whitehall told Cal, as Kayla was having a hard time controlling her anger.
Suddenly gunshots could be heard in the distant, leading Whitehall to investigate, leaving only one solider.
"Hey. Hear that? They're coming for us. I saw how many guys you have on your side. You are sorely outnumbered, my friend. Tell you what. Let me go now. I'll tell them take it easy on you. Maybe cut off an ear, pop an eye" Ward distracted the soldier, as Cal stood up.
"Shut up" The soldier bit back.
"Just trying to be helpful. I'm a lot nicer than he's gonna be" Ward informed him, as Cal ran up behind him breaking his neck.
Everyone in the room raised an eyebrow at this action, and Kayla couldn't help but be kind of impressed.
"You're welcome. Now, let's get out of here" Ward exclaimed.
"Yeah, me, too! Come on!" Skye insisted.
"I wouldn't mind getting out too" Kayla added.
"It's safer here. And I'm about to do something to Whitehall. I don't want you to see me like that" Cal grimaced.
"I don't mind...Seeing. Hell, I'm happy to help" Ward confessed.
"No. I get to do this myself" Cal retorted, running off.
"What? Hey!" Skye grunted, trying to break free.
"Guess it's up to me then" Kayla sighed, as she spotted the knife the guard had.
Focusing on the knife, it slowly started to move in the air, as she pushed it towards the ropes keeping her to the chair and started to cut into them.
"Any chance you could hurry up, Kayla?" Skye inquired.
"I'm going as fast as I can…cutting motions…not easy" Kayla gritted out, as her concentration slipped as she accidently cut herself.
"Ow" She moaned, finally cutting herself free and untying the rest of the ropes around her.
She then untied Ward, and stood up to go untie Skye, when Ward grabbed onto her arm stopping her. She twisted around ready to attack, when she saw him tearing some of his shirt away and started tying it around her wound.
"It'll heal in a minute. We don't have time" Kayla insisted.
"Well I do" Ward retorted, finishing up.
"I'll go check the other exit, you untie her. No funny business" Kayla warned him, as she walked out of the room.
"I'm sorry your little family reunion didn't go as planned. The least I can do is get you out of here. Sit down while I check the door" Ward explained to Skye, as he untied her and walked over to check the door.
He turned around when he heard a noise and suddenly saw Skye holding a gun in her hand, the next second he had four bullets in him. He fell to the floor, blood splattered everywhere.
"I'm doing Kayla a favor in the long run" Skye spat at him, as she ran past.
Kayla's eyes widened when she heard gunshots coming from the other room, and rushed back in.
"Skye? Skye?!" Calling out for her friend, as she spotted Ward on the floor.
"Ward?!" Kayla ran over to him, falling to her knees.
"No! No, Ward, wake up, wake up!" She cried, patting his face as he came too.
"Kayla…" He stuttered, his eyes fluttering.
"Hey, hey! Stay awake. What happened?" Kayla questioned, but got no reply.
"Did Skye…did she…?" Kayla trailed off, as Ward nodded.
"Okay, hold on. I'm going to try something" Kayla said, as she touched Ward's bleeding wounds.
She felt around until she felt the familiar tugging motion and slightly pulled back, as she felt his wounds stop bleeding.
"I…I think I stopped the bleeding" Kayla told him, smiling a little in amazement, as Ward smiled back.
"I…I need to say something. I…I'm proud of you. Of all you've done, I want…you to remember that" Ward panted.
"I know, just hold on okay? I'm going to get you out of here" Kayla exclaimed, as she went to pick him up.
"No…Skye…she'll have gone down there…you won't forgive yourself is something happens to her…go" Ward explained.
"If I leave you're going to die" Kayla informed him.
"It's just a flesh wound" Ward shrugged, deliriously.
"No, I'm not leaving you" Kayla insisted, placing her hand on his face.
"Skye deserves to be saved. I don't…you know that. Go save your best friend" Ward stated.
"I'll…I'll get help" Kayla said, trying to keep down her tears, as Ward nodded.
"Ward…please don't die. Please" Kayla begged, as she took her hands away, the bleeding starting again, as she ran.
She ran as fast as she could down the corridor until she came to a woman, standing by the wall.
"Kara?" She asked, startling the woman.
"Whitehall…is dead" Kara cried.
"Kara, please listen to me. You need to run down that corridor okay? There's a guy down there, he's been shot. He'll get you out of here, he can help you. Tell him Kayla sent you" She told the woman, grabbing her by the shoulders, as she nodded.
"Save him, please" Kayla pleaded, as she started running again.
Author's Notes: I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! How can these idiots even deny their feelings for each other anymore? Unfortunately, I have a feeling Kara is going to severely regret going after Skye in the long run. Please leave a review:)
