I've started replying to reviews, so if you left on last chapter, just go to the bottom of the page and you'll find your reply! I will be continuing with this from now on:)

Kayla woke with a start, as if she was waking from a nightmare, but couldn't remember what she had dreamt about. She realised that she wasn't in her own bed, and jumped upright, looking at her surroundings.

"Kayla?" She heard a feminine voice call out.

"Skye?...What's going on?" Kayla queried, seeing they were trapped behind thick glass in two different rooms.

"We're in quarantine…what do you remember?" Skye inquired.

"You're father…he told me…and then we got tied up…I…I'm not sure…did something bad happen?" Kayla inquired, as Skye nodded with tears.

"Trip…he's gone" Skye cried.

"What…gone where?" Kayla asked.

"He's dead, when we went down into the chamber he…he turned to stone" Skye explained.

"No…no, that didn't happen" Kayla insisted.

"If he was alive don't you think he'd be right outside?" Skye suggested, as Kayla started to cry.

"Why? Why are we still alive?" Kayla questioned.

"I don't know" Skye sighed.

"Did something else happen?" Kayla started.

"We both got trapped in this cocoon…when you come out, it was like you were some sort of smoke…he touched you and then…he's dead…this soldier…he died" Skye stuttered.

"What? What are you even talking about?" Kayla inquired, in complete denial.

Suddenly the door to Kayla's room was yanked open, and an angry looking soldier burst through.

"You killed him! He was my best friend!" He screamed, pointing his gun at her.

"I…I don't know what you're talking about…" Kayla trailed off, putting her hands up.

"You bitch! You know what you did" He spat out, shooting her in the chest.

A moment later, Kayla felt something start to happen. Usually when she was shot, there was an intense pain and then a cooling sensation as she started to heal, but this time it was like her whole body was on fire. She gasped as suddenly she felt a black smoke consume her. She looked down at her body to see it was the smoke, as four bullets whizzed through her transparent body. She felt an intense anger rush through her, seeing red.

"Kayla!" She heard someone shout.

She turned to her right to see someone else…Skye. The anger slowly seeped out of her as she felt herself start to calm down, and all of a sudden the black smoke was leaving her, and she was back to herself. She looked forward to see that Coulson had entered the scene, an angry look on her face, as she felt a pain in her head and realised he had shot her, falling into the black.

Her eyes shot open again for the second time that day, as she looked at the grey ceiling above her, realising she had been moved again. She put a hand to her head, feeling instant pain, when she looked back at her hand she now saw it had blood on it.

"We had to do that for your own protection" Coulson announced.

She looked to her side to see that she was in one the vaults, and from where Coulson was standing, behind the screen.

"What…the hell?" Kayla stuttered.

"You've killed one of our agents and almost killed another. You're a danger to yourself and others" Coulson went on.

"Wait, you're locking me up?" Kayla asked.

"It may only be temporary" Coulson suggested.

"Don't do this. I…I won't hurt anyone…I don't even remember…" Kayla trailed off.

"We can't be sure of that. Get some rest" Coulson replied, as he started to walk up the stairs.

"No. No! Wait, Coulson! Wait! Don't leave me here!" Kayla shouted at him, as he stopped at the top of the stairs.

She looked down to see a patch of red on the floor, and with a gasp realised which vault she was in.

"You put me in his vault?!" Kayla said, angrily.

"It was the closest one" Coulson retorted.

"I'm not a monster!" She screamed at him.

"Well you're sure acting like it" Coulson replied, coldly leaving the room.

"No! No! Coulson!" Kayla yelled, banging her fists, hard against the invisible wall.

"How long has she been doing that?" May questioned looking at the live feed from Kayla's cell.

"The last two hours" Coulson informed her, as they watched Kayla run repeatedly into the invisible wall.

"She'll get tired eventually, I guess" May sighed, looking away.

"How could you?!" A voice boomed in the room.

Coulson and May were both surprised to see Fitz rushing towards, his face flushed with anger.

"Kayla is going through some sort of scary transformation and you decide to bloody lock her up? In Ward's cell of all places?" Fitz argued.

"You know what she did to that agent" Coulson told Fitz.

"She didn't mean it" Fitz insisted.

"It doesn't matter. She killed someone. She's dangerous. She has to be detained" May theorized.

"I want to see her" Fitz exclaimed.

"Fitz, I don't know if-" Coulson was suddenly cut off.

"Right now!" Fitz shouted.

Kayla's head shot up from when she was slumped on the ground, when she heard the door open.

"Fitz…" Kayla trailed off, with a small smile.

She wasn't sure how long she had been down there, but she reckoned it was about a day from the two meals she had been given.

"I'm so sorry I couldn't get down here faster. I had to get Coulson's permission" Fitz apologized, kneeling on the other side of the wall.

"What's happening to me?" Kayla cried, as she put her head in her hands.

"I…I don't know. But we'll figure it out, yeah? You'll be okay" Fitz told her.

"They're never going to let me out" Kayla stated.

"I'll be fighting for you every day, Kayla. I'll get you out. Somehow" Fitz went on.

"Have you eaten anything?" Fitz said, a moment later.

"Not hungry" Kayla shrugged.

"Not hungry? You're always hungry" Fitz declared, trying to lighten the mood.

"Not anymore…where's Skye?" Kayla mumbled.

"She's…um, she's still in quarantine" Fitz stuttered.

"You're a terrible liar. She doesn't want to see me, does she?" Kayla suggested.

"She'll come round. Everything is just a bit much for her right now" Fitz informed her.

"Will you come back to see me?" Kayla asked, quickly.

"Of course. I'll come every day. For as long as I can. I'll get you out of here" Fitz insisted.

Author's Notes: I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! Poor Kayla, she really doesn't deserve all of this. Putting her in Ward's cell was just too much of a good opportunity to miss though. Please leave a review:)

Unstoppably-demonic: Thank you so much, I'm so happy you like this story:) Don't worry, Kayla and Ward will find each other again, but Kayla's going to have her hand's full with her own problems for a while.

Secret-writer91: Poor Kayla indeed. I will say Skye definitely feels guilty for what happened to Trip, but things between her relationship with Kayla is certainly going to go down a rocky path in the future.

LeopardFeather: More exciting things to come soon!

Guest: I'm really glad you like this story. More to come soon:)
