"I was meaning to ask, how many of us are here?" She questioned.

"Including you? Seven now. Hopefully more will come in time. At first I don't think they knew what to do with me, I was so…different. Mr. Ward vouched for me. He said he had known some Inhumans, and they were good people. He said that everyone deserves a chance…I think it was mainly because he felt guilty about sleeping with my ex-wife" Dr. Garner explained, as Kayla chuckled.

"People were still uneasy of course, so it was easier to put me into one part of the base" He exclaimed.

"But you can come and go as you please now?" She persisted.

"Things are better now. People know me and I know them. There's still some conflict at times, but we all pretty much live together now" He smiled.

"Then why do you all live in one block?" She asked, as they came to a large door.

"Well we do like having a place to call our own. And when new recruits come, it's usually best for them not be around most people, we help them to adjust…Ah, here we are. Home sweet home" He grinned, pushing a few buttons as the door in front of them began to open.

Kayla's eyes widened as she took in the view before her. It was completely different to the rest of the base, it was much more homely. Not to mention massive.

"Woah…" Kayla trailed off, walking inside.

"Hi" A small voice from beside her squeaked.

"Damn, kid. You almost gave me a heart attack" Kayla chuckled, as she looked down at a small boy who couldn't be older than 12.

"Is it true that you have telekinesis?" He questioned, excitedly.

He really gets to the point, huh, she thought to herself. Before she could reply, he cut in.

"I know" He grinned.

"What? I didn't say anything?" Kayla questioned, with a frown.

"Yes, you did. You said I really get to the point. My mum's always saying I'm blunt" He explained.

"You… can read minds?" She realised.

"Yep. It's so cool" He exclaimed, hopping up and down.

"Ben, don't scare the new girl. Sorry about him, I'm Maggie" A pretty blonde walked over to her.

"Its fine" Kayla replied, with a smile.

"…Is it really true that you have telekinesis? It's just I've always wanted to meet someone like that, ever since I was a little girl and…" Maggie trailed off.

"I can see a demonstration is in order" Kayla smirked, as she raised her hand and grabbed a can of coke on the counter with her telekinesis.

"Oh my God, that's so cool!" Ben gasped, reminding her a bit of Skye.

"Pft, I've seen better" A voice said, from the corner.

"Oh, really?" Kayla asked, raising an eyebrow at a young women with ginger hair.

"I'm Sarah. Sarah Scissorhands, this one calls me" She glared at Ben.

"I'm not sure if I want to ask why?" Kayla frowned.

Before she could say anything else, the girls hands suddenly morphed into rows of long daggers, as Kayla stepped back.

"Wow" Kayla said, both eyebrows raised.

"Alright Sarah, stop showing off" Maggie groaned.

"Oh, I'm sorry did you want to show you powers off? I'm sure she'll be amazed" Sarah retorted, walking off.

"What are your powers?" Kayla queried, out of curiosity.

"I can control water" She shrugged.

"That sounds pretty impressive" Kayla assumed.

"It would be if I could get the hang of it, I'm pretty useless to be honest" Maggie sighed.

"Don't worry, it took me ages to get this good at my telekinesis, you'll get the hang of it" Kara told her, getting a smile in return.

"Good to see you again, Kayla. Hey, David! Come over here and meet the new girl!" Pete exclaimed, at a boy sitting on a stool in the corner.

"Um…hello" He mumbled, stumbling over to her.

"Hey, what's your power?" Kayla asked, intrigued.

"Uh…it's…I can't really show you…so…" He stuttered.

"How come? I'm not going to judge, I swear" She insisted.

"I can't really do it…on tap, if you know what I mean" He shrugged.

"Or like at all" Sarah smirked, from the corner.

"Leave him alone, S. This guy right here, has the power…to become invisible" Pete grinned.

"What?! No way, that's one of the coolest powers I've ever heard of" Kayla admitted.

"It would be if he would ever show us. I mean how do we really know its true if he's never showed us?" Sarah queried, raising an eyebrow.

"You've seen the footage" Pete said, shaking his head.

"I only seem to be able to do it when I'm sleeping…" David confessed.

"You'll get the hang of it. Look, don't put too much pressure on yourself, okay? You can take your time" Kayla explained, as the door to the area opened, and Ward walked through.

"Hey boss" Pete announced, saluting to him.

"Pete. We've got a meeting in ten minutes. Its urgent" Ward informed them.

"Always a buzzkill this one" Pete chuckled, slapping him on the back as he walked out the area.

"Benny, don't you have something to say to Mr. Ward?" Maggie prompted her child.

"Oh, yeah. Thank you for the toy, Mr Ward. I really love it" Ben beamed at him, showing off his Captain America action figure.

"I'm glad" Ward replied, ruffling his hair.

The others soon went off to get ready, as Kayla walked over to Ward's side.

"You bought him a Captain America figure?" Kayla questioned, raising an eyebrow.

"No, it was mine when I was younger. Guess it never rubbed off on me" Ward shrugged.

"Well, who got it for you?" Kayla queried, surprised.

"My Grams" Ward answered.

"You never really talked about her on the Bus…" Kayla trailed off, expecting what the answer was going to be.

"She died when I was 6…she only gave that to me a few weeks before" Ward exclaimed.

"I'm sorry, sounds like you cared about her a lot" Kayla stated.

"Yeah, I did" Ward admitted, with a sigh.

"Um, I should be getting to the meeting" Ward coughed, a moment later.

"Sure, see you there…I guess" Kayla replied, with a shrug, as Ward walked away.

How can I still be so awkward around him after all this time? I don't even like him anymore…I think. Well, maybe just a little, she thought to herself.

"You're right, you guys are pretty awkward" Ben stated, from behind her.

"You're not repeating any of that…like ever, right?" Kayla asked him.

"Don't worry, my lips are sealed…If you ever wanted to know what he was thinking, I could always help…for a small fee" Ben grinned.

"I have been here for like 5 minutes and I can tell that Sarah girl is already rubbing off on you" Kayla chuckled.

"Is that a maybe?" Ben inquired, as she walked away.

"I'm not answering" Kayla retorted, with a laugh, as she walked away.

Author's Notes: I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! I've re-started my Doctor Who fanfiction, so if you've ever watched the show, you can go to my profile and check the story out. I hope you guys like the look of these new inhumans, we won't be seeing them for a bit, but they will play an important role later on. Please leave a review:)

Koos: You might have to wait a while, but I'll make it worth the wait!

Secret-Writer91: Thank you! Don't worry, they're going to get closer, there's going to be a certain situation that pushes them together;) I'm not sure if my version of how S.H.I.E.L.D treats Inhumans is the same as what happens on the show, but from what I saw before I stopped watching, I can see why they'd have a problem.
