@Alynoe: Maybe~ Dunno. Haha.. But thanks God for having your phone repaired. I know how it feels to have a broken phone.
For any curiosity regarding the summoning circles and contract circles, please refer to Hermetic order of the golden dawn polygons and polygrams. Thank you.
Don't you think the progress is rather slow? Or I'm the only one worrying?
Anyway, onwards.
Chapter Twenty-Two
'Kyouya,
I need to stay here for a bit. My wounds aren't closing up. You know how I like them to be healed naturally. Be back the day after tomorrow, just in time for my first class. Keep Headmaster updated though. At least he won't be mad when I get there late. And Hana-chan too. She'll kill me if she doesn't know where I am.
Tsuna'
Byakuran couldn't move when they suddenly arrived. He was just eating his daily pack of marshmallows when a black warp suddenly appeared in the middle of the throne room and two people stepped out. Tsunayoshi Sawada and Reborn.
The human is pretty much in the best shape even though the bandage around his neck can't be hidden by the collar of his shirt. Reborn is still neat and well-dressed as always with his black fedora hiding his eyes. The two looked around the throne room as if it's a tourists' attraction. Well, he can't deny that because it is one of the exquisite castles here in Fiant.
And before he knew it, chaos broke out. His demons, be it low, semi and high, are being flung to any directions after attacking the summoner and the contractor. In instant, two of his funeral wreaths are in front of him, shielding him from the possible attacks. He felt chills went down his spine as he listened to the human's merry laugh, as if he is enjoying what he is doing. When he saw a glimpse of the said summoner, he saw an excited expression with a touch of smirk. Kikyo, the neon green haired demon, asked him if he is alright after seeing how he visibly paled.
It's like the human himself is the demon in here and not any of them.
"I was going to compliment your castle if your demons didn't attack us immediately." Tsunayoshi said with a sigh, as if he didn't brought down one of his funeral wreaths. "We should've knocked on the door, Reborn."
"I wanted it to be a surprise." Reborn shrugs, uncaring.
"We could've scaled the interior if we did. It looks interesting."
"I know. I can feel your excitement."
The human only smiled a little before looking at him without any expression. Byakuran wonders what it feels to be the receiving end of those smiles. "I'd love to attack you, but my time is up. But I hope the message was delivered though. I hate doing things like this. It takes up my reading time. Anyways, if you mess with me, you're declaring a war against the whole Arcobaleno."
Byakuran could only stare. 'Are the Arcobaleno his summons now?!'
"Viper is literally saying that in my head. But we don't really wanna piss off this guy here, would we?" And the brunet patted the hitman's shoulder. "Add seven more, I don't think you can stop them even if you have all the demons in Fiant. They are the Arcobaleno after all."
"Fuck." Zakuro cursed as a wave of powerful sky aura flowed inside the room. Before they could even imprint it in their minds, it went away.
"Should we go, Reborn?" The brunet asked.
"Yeah." The strongest demon answered coolly.
A black portal opened again and Tsunayoshi went in. All of the conscious demons in the vicinity tensed up when the hitman just stood there, not moving an inch to follow his summoner.
Regardless of how the brunet phrased it, that the Arcobaleno will not touch them if they do not lay a finger on him, the hitman is still different. He does things for the heck of everything and he just doesn't follow the rules, except his own rules. And even though they almost beat him on the day of their attack, it doesn't mean he won't seek revenge. Even if he is in a contract right now, or his activities paused in almost a year, that doesn't mean Fiant is safe from the chaos bringer.
Reborn, the demon hitman, can slaughter them if he wants to in just seconds with or without his guns.
"Be at ease. My summoner doesn't like seeing any demons dying regardless of regeneration." The hitman assured, only to make them more tensed than they already are. The reaction made him chuckle. "I advice you not to underestimate Tsuna. You felt the powerful aura, didn't you? That will only get more stronger. The more you belittle him, the greater he grows."
Byakuran gave a grin, regardless of his uneasiness. "Understood."
"Tell that to The Giglio Nero and Kawahira also." And a red light gleamed under the shadow of the hat covering the hitman's eyes. "Tsuna might not want me to take hits, but that doesn't mean I can't incapacitate people on my list. This isn't a warning. It's a suggestion."
And the hitman entered the portal that closed itself after.
Byakuran groaned as he popped a marshmallow in his mouth. He looked around and saw Zakuro helping Daisy, Bluebell and Tarakabuto to their feet. Tarakabuto was knocked off by Tsunayoshi while Reborn pushed Bluebell to Daisy when the Rain attacked the demon. Of how Bluebell was able to find such courage to attack the hitman, he needs to figure out.
"It was just a simple test." Byakuran sighed.
"What did I tell you?" Zakuro sneered as he sat on the steps before the throne chair.
The albino groaned. "I know. But I wanted to test him out. I didn't know he is 'that' powerful."
"I can still feel the restriction on my skin." Kikyo sighed as he give his king a water to drink. "I've encountered a lot of restrictions in that kind of incantation, but that one is pretty powerful. Inescapable. Add on the shots I got from the hitman, of course I was almost forced to submit and get exorcised by the human."
"Just what did I got myself into?" Their king grunted after drinking the water.
"An end of a gunpoint." Zakuro deadpanned before yawning.
Kikyo laughed. "If you will apologize to Tsunayoshi, he will probably forgive you and be at the good side of the Arcobaleno."
"But..." Byakuran pouted. "Just get out of here."
The two wreaths bowed with teasing grins in their lips before turning away to help the others. The albino just sighed before closing his eyes as he thought of how can he inform Kawahira and Aria about what happened without getting scolded.
Tsuna stepped in the academy perimeter by the portal. He sighed im relief before walking towards the exit of the Blood tower. No students were present within the area of the tower nor in the corridor since it is time for class. The first batch to enter Fiant today though will be here by ten in the morning.
The groups of students that go to the demon world varies. It's always on the last day of the second week. though. It doesn't depend on what class you are in, or who's the teacher you're under. The groups are decided by the disciplinary committee and posted on the chancellor's office. It is made by the time the final list of students were given to Kyouya, and the committee will do a raffle draw to group the students. The maximum of students in a group is thirty, and the teachers are assigned.
So yes. Their group had to change teachers every six months because they can't force Tsuna to go to Fiant. They gave up. Even Madam Cara can't find him when he hides (he's either in the CR, the DC office, in the rooftop, the library or just in the stairs of the other towers). The only one who was successful in getting him there was Nezu-sensei. God bless that teacher for searching him all over the school before the time to go comes and forcing him out of the bed to go there some months ago.
Tsuna wonders if Kyouya ever suspected him hiding inside his office though. Oh well.
Tsuna opened the door by the back of his class and entered as silently as possible. He sat at the end of the room and idly looked at the board for any sign of what was their topic for the day. More of what they are doing today. He stared at the teacher who is counting papers by the table. He almost laughed out loud. It was their exam day.
"How kind of you to grace us your presence, Tsunayoshi." The teacher sarcastically said as she handed him a test paper.
"It's an honour to give you my company, Miss Frankfurt." Tsuna casually responded as he took the paper and wrote his name on the provided space.
"How was the week?" The teacher asked lowly, just for the two of them to hear.
Tsuna almost smiled. There are some teachers that are very fond of him. He doesn't know why though. Maybe because he gave hell to bullying, or just because he jests Madam Cara who was pretty hard on some professor who she does not like. Some of them help him with his wounds when the infirmary won't accommodate him. They'll fuzz over him and make him eat plenty of food so he'll heal quickly. Even when he doesn't go to some of his class, his class teachers will beckon him to come when the exam day arrives, and make him take the tests. One of those teachers is Miss Frankfurt, a German exorcist woman who acts like a youngster despite her age of fifty-eight.
"It was great." Tsuna replied with a positive cheer in his voice regardless of his expressionless face as his hand wrote the answers to the questions. "It wasn't as boring as the last two years, or as infuriating. Ganauche-"
"Sir Ganauche." She corrected.
He scrunched his nose. "-and I were able to talk in a civil way."
"Good." The teacher commented.
"And I was able to take on a summon."
"What?!" The woman exclaimed, getting the other's attention.
"Shhh!" He chided as his hand continues to move.
"Shh..." The woman imitated silently. "Really?"
"Yes."
"Is he that gorgeous debonair who is sometimes with you?"
Tsuna looked at the teacher and blinked. "Reborn?"
"Oh. His name is Reborn? Ah. Yes yes. He is."
"Yeah. He is the one."
"Who asked first?"
"He did."
Miss Frankfurt's mouth made an 'o' shape. "My..."
"And then I asked back after we completed the first deal we had."
The exorcist let out a happy smile. "You never cease to amaze me, Tsunayoshi."
"Don't I always?" He rhetorically queried as he handed the paper back. "My awesomeness never fails to shine anywhere."
"I wonder about that." The teacher teased back before going back to her table. "Meinerding! I saw you!"
Tsuna sighed and stretched. After the exam was over in that subject, he went to his next class quietly to finish the next exam and the succeeding ones. Of course he aces them. It was one of the things that baffles the whole academy populace, and led them to the question of how can he answer the tests without attending the classes.
Some students even tried to accuse him of cheating. And even if he denies the accusation, no one will believe him. Who would if you're a delinquent? A bad child? So he proposed probable solutions: a retest with everyone watching and an oral recitation. He was checked for any cheating materials, summons (he almost spat 'stupid' to those who suggested that, but he reigned himself. He saved that for the end of the show), and spells he could use (is there even a spell for cheating?).
The tests were easy as blinking. He made them watch him answer every remade tests in just minutes, and answered all questions thrown to him from the easiest questions to the hardest. Even those stuffs they have yet to tackle (actually the class has to tackle, excluding him) were asked and he answered them with confidence. When he was declared not guilty, he insulted every single person who suspected him and entertained that kind of thought (Yes. Even the higher ups, but in the most respectable way since he was told to be polite to elders as much as possible).
They forgot that he was able to enter the academy because of his brain. Stupid people.
So far, he's the most intelligent student in the academy. But because of his reputation and behavior, he was reduced to average. He doesn't care. He was there for his family, not for them. He was there to fulfill his promise regardless of how much he doesn't want go to his classes, not to please people.
One time, Hana asked him why don't he take on every tests he needs to take and answer them in one sitting? If he did, he will get the degree he will need to get home. To be honest, he did entertain that thought. But Madam Cara didn't like it. He was told to complete the curriculum because it is compulsory. Compulsory his ass. She just doesn't want him to graduate because he will outdone the higher level students and she was underestimating him. Oh how he itched to persuade Headmaster Angelo and the teachers to overrun Madam Cara's decision.
But if he was permitted, will he ever be this close to Kyouya and Hana? Or Nezu-sensei? Or be able to come up with his own incantations, circles, antics, and be as experienced as he is? In a way, he can be (a little) grateful to the guidance for being so... Frustrating in any ways. (He's honest to himself. Trully and sincerely honest. But he can't still accept the thought of being thankful to Madam Cara.)
"Hana-chan!" Tsuna called out when he saw the noirette walking meters away from him.
The lady looked back to him and frowned at him.
He pouted as he approaches her. "What's wrong?"
"What happened to you? You're full of bandages." The lady pointed out as they continued to talk.
"Oh. Injuries."
"I know that, idiot. That's why I'm asking how did you got those." He could already imagine the lady trying her hardest not to smack his head upside.
He chuckled. "We were attacked by demons on the way here. We fought them."
"We?"
"My bodyguards, Reborn and I." He replied. "They went for me because I was able to tame the strongest demon or some things related to that."
"You got a contract?" Hana blinked.
"Y-Yeah." He said quietly.
"Why are you sheepish? You should be proud that you got one!" The lady huffed.
"I'm not shy about it. It's just that I don't want those people around us fuzz like bees about it. Just imagine Madam Cara mocking me for being able to finally take on a summon. Or Kyouya persisting me to call on Reborn so they can fight."
"That's normal, Tsuna. People will react because you got a demon as strong as you. They thought a delinquent like you won't get a summon because you don't deserve it as much as they thought they do. Both of us knew that's stupid because every one can have a summon. Your books can justify to that."
"I do." Tsuna affirms.
"It just needs a proper procedure and such. Even those people who are deemed colorless or normal. Maybe even those who were sucked out of their auras can have demons. No one can tell you that you don't deserve a demon. You just have to find the right one."
"But do you think Reborn will appreciate being boasted?" He asked nervously.
Hana looked at him at the corner of her eyes. "What do you think? You spent over six months with him."
Tsuna thought of the hitman's personality. Reborn is not the type to be subtle. He was known as the strongest demon in Fiant and the greatest hitman (well, not everyone because he doesn't know about those two titles). No one will know he is those two if he didn't show off his skills with confidence and preciseness. In a sense, Reborn is the personification of a sun. So active and boastful. Proud even if the clouds cover him, shining persistently until the Storm disappears because of his stubbornness.
So yes. He will appreciate it.
"But I think he will. Demons are proud in nature. Like how humans are." Hana inputs.
Tsuna nodded. "You're right."
"So the paper you made me check was for him, I suppose?"
"Yeah."
The lady glared at him, making him squirm at the scrutiny and laugh a little. "Tell me everything."
Tsuna was forced (he never likes telling others his misadventures) to tell her everything. Hana was clearly amazed after he finished. He was also questioned about his incantation and the kind of polygon he used for it. That topic is what he gladly shared.
The two of them are kindred spirits. They thrive for knowledge (other than insulting others for being monkeys (Hana) and being idiots (Tsuna)), although his can't be satiated until he's satisfied of what he had discovered. Hana, though, will be okay with whatever she has, as long as her questions were answered with A-Ok response. Once Tsuna read a good book he'll know the lady will like, he shares the literature. Hana doesn't do that though. She just informs him, and he'll find it (both of them knew that he will always be a gentleman through and through).
"So what happened when I was gone from this little prison?" He asked, hands on his nape.
"Bullies rejoiced." Hana snickered.
"Of course." He rolled his eyes.
"The guidance was able to sigh in relief." Tsuna tattered on that. "The DC got in trouble for being unable to protect the students from the all around assaults. Especially the weak ones."
"Hmm..."
"Of course, your 'little brother' got stressed out and lashed at every single student he comes forth with. Bully or not." Tsuna grimaced. "Kusakabe did ready the files for you, though. He told me because he knew you'll go hunting."
"Thoughtful."
"I know. Master Angelo announced that he is expecting a good comeback from you after all the ordeal because he can't control the situation proficiently as you do. Peace talks and violence are pretty different from each other."
He chortled as they entered the dining area. "Oh, they're the same, Hana-chan."
"If you say so, I believe so." Hana smirked. "And-"
"Oi losers!" A booming shout resounded, followed by mocking laughs and snorts.
"-the cafeteria is the best place to jeer at the victims." She continued on.
Tsuna's eyes gleamed in ecstacy and said in a girly voice, "Oh my! My very first preys!"
"Ah. Yes." The lady chuckled. "Quench your thirst then."
Tsuna nodded with morbid glee before stalking towards his first snacks of the day. The bullies were feasting on the group of students. Enma was there and got picked up by one from the other group. The brunet was about to say something as a good surprise comeback when the bully asked the redhead something.
"Now where's that Sawada who you have faith so much of saving you?" The bully asked.
Enma didn't answer immediately, just staring at the bully.
"You're so hanged up on him that you never cried when we beat you up. We saw him last two days ago, but he didn't come back since then. What will happen to you now, Loser Enma? You're giving up?" And the group of bullies laughed.
Tsuna tapped his shoe on the floor and waited for the redhead's response. His intuition did say wait and he will because he knows that victims say the best lines after finding their courage to bite back.
"Tsuna will be here. And when he says he'll be back, he will be. He never breaks promises. So when he comes back and asks me who bullied who, and who made Hibari so angry, expect your name Joe Rul."
"Oh." Tsuna blurted just as his intuition hummed in delight. "His name is Joe Rul?"
The people inside the silent cafeteria looked at his way. The victims brightened while the bullies paled visibly. Tsuna jumped and clapped his hands in delight with his intuition mentally while he gave a devious smirk physically. Oh how he loves dramatic effects and how he can bring fright to those he scares.
He patted Joe Rul's shoulder. The latter's grip on Enma slackened and the redhead was able to back away.
"Enma." Tsuna called.
"Yes." The redhead responded quickly, like a soldier to his commander.
"Are they here?" He asked with a very innocent look in his face.
The redhead chuckled. "Other than us, Hana, and the staffs, yes. They're all here."
"Ah. Nice nice." And he punched Joe Rul with vigor. The receiver caught the fist with his face and flew back to his companions. "Let's start this hunting week today, shall we?"
The cafeteria was filled with screams of pain, fear and threats. Hana and the group of victims only watched as bullies kept on being flung at every directions. If possible for Tsuna to open the ground, he might have put a lot of people inside there. Of course, he can't get out of a big scuffle without getting injuries. With that number of people? Nope. So Hana already had a first aid kit in her hands and ready to call Kyoko anytime.
The door of the cafeteria opened and Kyouya went in. One female bully tried to escape using the opened door but another female bully was thrown to her direction. Both trampled down just by the feet of the DC president. The noiret didn't even looked at the girls who were sporting big lumps on their heads and unconscious because of what they had done.
"Kyouya! Good morning!" Tsuna called with a big smile and a big wave before he dodged a flying punch and punched back accurately.
"Hn."
"Can you help me with the girls?" The brunet pleaded as he armed throw someone and the latter hit another.
The girls' eyes widened in surprise and fear.
Kyouya brandished his tonfas. "Hn."
The girls cried.
"Oh. And help me with the others too- For fuck's sake! I told you I have an injury there, you motherfucker!" Tsuna cursed before he popped the bully's arm, earning a good scream of pain. "As I was saying before someone tried to break my spinal cord, help me with the others too after you beat them up. Don't touch the group with Hana-chan in it. You'll receive a good beating from her if you do."
"Why thank you for the kind compliment." Hana retorted while sitting pretty on a chair.
"Hn." Hibari only grunted before he started to attack the girls.
"For someone who is considered as a gentleman, Tsunayoshi is pretty vicious." A female from their group whistled.
"It's the reason why he tossed Kyouya to them. He knows when to respect and disrespect women." Hana simply responded as she signed Kusakabe to come in. The DC right hand man did and closed the door behind him. "Tell the infirmary of all floors and wings to get ready. Enma here is already listing down the names of all the bullies. And inform the three ups that he's back."
"And the hunting week began." Kusakabe nodded before he pulled out his radiogram.
"Now that I think about it, that was the first time Tsunayoshi gave a serious injury." Another from their group pointed out.
"Because it's hunting week." Enma answers as he put the pen down. "Tsuna only give light injuries because he will hunt them everyday to scare them shitless- Excuse my word. The injuries will rise up from light to heavy in a week. So after a week, there will be a week break of classes."
"I assume you didn't know this because you weren't there when he does it." Hana added on. "He did this after a week of his absence two years ago. In his absence, what you experience was just like this one. When he arrived, he got so angry about the news he received. He even included Kyouya in it for three straight days. When Headmaster Angelo got the reports, he suspended the following week for the students' recovery. With that, it became his little tradition."
"But that doesn't mean it only happens after his one week absence right?" A male with glasses asked, curious.
"Yup. When he felt like it, he'll do it." Hana answered with a shrug.
The others shuddered as another cry of pain was heard and a laughter of joy followed. They're so thankful that they weren't one of the bullies.
