A/N:

@Alynoe: I don't really know what came over with Reborn (or me to right such a chapter) at that time. He is becoming an ass. Maybe it's what love makes people do? Hahaha! And thanks. I'm still fidgety about the 70 (or more) chapters. I'm not used to it. The block though is slowly getting lifted.

@Nina-Chan202: There's a kind of mentality here. It's rationalization, where we kinda think that the mistakes we made were because of other people. Like pinning the blame on other people to make ourselves feel good. That's why Reborn thinks Tsuna is at fault or Viper is.

@To the guest who gave a lengthy review: It's actually understandable to antagonize Luce in such stories because yes, she followed the fate and didn't bother changing them. But don't worry, Luce isn't someone to hate in this story. She's pretty much understood by Tsuna because the latter knew what she sacrificed. Tsuna cried because he realized that he was being compared to Luce. But it's not really Luce's fault. It's more on Reborn. My country also have a 'mammon' bread you know. Sweetened and delish to eat. And yes, Ira will get a wind of what Lust did but it will show in much later chapters.

@16Sakura21: Don't worry. Reborn will taste something better than a beating.

@MichiruLeIdiota: Thank you. Really. I appreciate your tears. I just thought that Colonnello suited to be the one who will see Tsuna like that because he's like Takeshi, naive but observant enough. And Tsuna was brought to the dorm. Colonnello knew it will be a bad idea to put the Sky and the Sun in one room after that kind of argument. Nah. I was only apologizing for giving such a lengthy reply cause I really blabber much. Thank you though.

@Michiko-chan27: I don't really know. Maybe because Reborn was fed up with Tsuna blocking him since Tsuna doesn't want him to experience all the lewd feelings? Somewhere there is the reason. Thanks for your tears too. I appreciate them. And I do look for Haikyuu!! Djs! They're my favorites (why can't they make R27 djs? Argh). Thanks for always waiting for an update. And I don't mind replying. I just blabber most of the time that's why I apologize.

So... Thanks for all your reviews. Sorry if some were kinda complicated cause I can't really answer all the questions. Another sorry for not replying to all of them. Peace.

Hope you like this chapter though, even if not edited. We're going to see one protective Mist get mad.

Anyway, go. Onwards.

Chapter Thirty

Viper's eyes widened under his hood. He stood up immediately and scanned the field, but nothing. The others stared at him in worry and confusion, but none dared to ask what's happening to him.

The Mist cursed under his breath before disappearing to where he can feel the Sky. He arrived back to Tsuna's bedroom. What he come at surprised him. Colonnello is sitting on the chair beside the bed while the brunet is sleeping under the covers. He can sense the depression from the human and calm from the blond.

When the attack happened, Colonnello, Fon and Reborn went outside to deal with the intruders. Just then, he felt the Mist-rain and Sky auras approaching. He admittedly sighed in relief and listened to Skull rambled about Science. When Verde was explaining the fact about the Cloud's question, he sensed that the Sky and the Sun are near each other. But when Skull and Verde were already talking about something, he sensed the Sky missing.

If Tsuna ran here, then Reborn must have done something again.

"What happened?" He asked.

Colonnello shook his head.

Viper exhaled. "How is he?"

"He's asleep. I dozed him a good amount of rain."

"That won't knock him out." The Mist informed, just as Tsuna shifted. "See."

"Mammon...?" A broken voice called out.

Mammon scowled. "What did he do?"

The brunet sat up and wiped away the tears with his hands before smiling brokenly. "Can you teach me how to block without straining my mind?"

The Arcobaleno looked at each other. Colonnello's eyes widened in realization while Viper's lips went for a straight line.

"Sure."

Reborn stared hard at the black hat in his hand. It looks fine, like a brand new and clearly cared hat. It doesn't look like this last time. His hat was old. He gripped it hard. Did Tsuna change it?

"Where's Tsuna?" Onyx eyes gazed at Lal who's running towards him. "Ah. You received it already?" Reborn watched the woman take the hat and flip it over to examine. "Tsuna did a good job. He even patched up the band."

The hitman's attention piqued. "What do you mean?"

"You forgot this on our last site. I took it since I know it's yours. Then I thought of Tsuna since that kid knows a lot even though he doesn't specialize anything, certainly he must have known how to sew. So I gave it a shot. He fixed it in three days. I don't know how he did it, but it looks brand new."

Reborn stared at the hat. 'Tsuna fixed it? But why did he say Lal give it to him so he can hand it to me?'

"He was reluctant to fix it because you might not want him to touch it. Did you two had a fight? Anyway, I even mentioned to him that you should just buy a new one, but he admonished the idea and told me that it has a sentimental value. Probably right. I mean I do have my own precious things." And the lady tapped her visor.

"You're getting talkative, Lal." The demon in suit pointed out as he took the hat from the mist-rain arcobaleno and put it on his head.

"Ah. Tsuna was pretty silent awhile ago, so I had to talk a little to get him out of his room. Where is he anyway?" The military woman asked while looking around.

"He went-"

The Sun winced visibly when his chest started to burn, specifically Tsuna's symbol. It gave him a continuous amount of pain for seconds or so before it slowly decreased. Slowly, he flexed his body before smoothing out his expression. Only to fall again.

He put a hand on his chest and blinked as he tried to locate Tsuna's line of connection to his aura. He couldn't get a whiff of the sky. His brows furrowed in concentration, but nothing. Releasing his search, he flared his aura to check on the kid, and he felt him in the castle. His brain started to ask questions.

Why can't he feel Tsuna's line? It's like... He was cut off completely.

"Ah never mind. Viper already contacted me." Lal dismissed as she turned around and walked for their house. "Tsuna is with him and Colonnello."

"I should check on him." The hitman said to himself as he started to walk towards the camp.

"I think you shouldn't." Reborn looked back to Skull who has an expressionless face on. The Cloud just stood there, passive and felt cold. Like the old time.

"What are you saying? He's my summoner-"

"Tsuna doesn't feel well right now. Colonnello is with him because he's easing Tsuna's discomfort."

"Then what about Viper?!" He snarled.

"Viper is helping Tsuna with his mental state." The Cloud answered before his eyes hardened, threatening for defiance. "You should know that among us, Viper is the only one who can do mental manipulation. Tsuna just got out from an incubus' grasp after one month and a week of captivity."

Reborn kept quiet.

"Just leave him alone for now, Reborn." Skull advised before going past him. "He needs his time, just like you wanted him to give yours."

Reborn stayed there even after Skull entered the forest. He looked at the camp tent from afar before shaking his head and walked towards their house. He feels contented that he has his hat back. It's a momento from Luce anyway. And besides, Tsuna is with Viper. He doesn't care if the brunet take on the contract offer. It's Tsuna. He's a summoner. He can't restrict the human.

His brows furrowed again. He admits that he feels jealous. He felt jealous of that guy in Tsuna's dream and Viper. Even if it's an incubus, it doesn't mean that the demon didn't transform into the guy the brunet is in love with. He was even shooed away just not to know the name of that guy.

And then there's Viper. That Mist. Why can't he just find his own sky and has to butt himself in Tsuna's life? He came first. He got Tsuna first. Why does Viper's contract proposal has to be considered? Why was his got rejected at first, got almost erased and reformed in the end? Damn it. Why can't their relationship be like his and Luce was?

Should he apologize? Nah. Tsuna will get over it. That human is resilient. He will even apologize first. Will he take on Viper's contract though? He hope not. He'll visit him the day after tomorrow. They did have a fight. But didn't they promised to each other that they'll talk about the issue first before the day ends? No. Skull did say the brunet needs his time.

But why can't he remove this gnawing feeling in his chest?

Shaking his head again, he reached out for the doorknob. He was about to twist it open when the piece of wood got yanked open and a hand gripped his collar tightly. It was too late for him to register what was happening and found himself flying towards the field. His back hit the ground and it hurts a little. Well, a little.

He stared at Viper's stalking form before standing like nothing happened. Before he can ask what was happening, a big rock materialized from the sky, intending to smash him. His guns materialized in his hands and he started to shot the rock until it shattered, only to see another one descending. He didn't have a choice but to run away from his spot to avoid getting squished.

He looked at the boulders before eyeing the Mist who looked livid at him. "What do you want Viper?"

Viper only gritted his teeth and tried to froze him. The hitman let his aura flare, causing the ice to melt. Wrong move, the esper turned it to a big whirlpool under his feet. Reborn cluck his tongue before jumping away and cocked his guns to the Mist's direction and fired with accurate aim. Viper dodged. The hitman continued to pull the triggers as he ran to avoid incoming attacks.

The shooting continued until the esper snapped. The gravity zeroed, causing Reborn to fly and his bullets to slowdown. Then a second later, the gravity went back with full force, causing the hitman to fall unceremoniously on the dirt. He cursed when the ground tried to bury him, before forcing himself to move but Reborn suddenly found his body buried in the ground, except for his head. Even his guns weren't spared. Viper floated towards him. He cursed. He can't believe he didn't notice how he fell on the Mist's trap.

"How..."

Reborn glared intensely at the demon who stood in front of him.

"How does it feel being blocked by your own summoner, Reborn?" Viper said between gritted teeth. He is obviously furious.

"What do you know about it?" The hitman challenged.

"You questioned him, right? Now you got what you wanted. He'll never bother you again."

His brows furrowed. "What are you talking about? And how the hell did you know that?"

"I'm reading your mind. Tsuna blocked you out completely. Just like what you wanted. He also accepted my contract like you told him." The Mist answered. This caused the onyx eyes to widen in shock. "Not until he calls for you or remove the barrier willingly, you won't have a good access with your full aura. Of course he doesn't know that."

Reborn's jaw clenched. "How did you know?!"

"Reborn, it took you twenty bullets to destroy one big rock. You used to destroy it with two bullets, including the next one. You spent five seconds of escaping the boulders. Your sun aura coated bullets lack power and you're tricked by my illusions." The Mist grinned sadistically. "It's a payment for making Tsuna do anything you want. Have you ever considered his words, or even listened to them? Nah. I bet not."

Reborn growled.

"Once Tsuna wishes for it, I'll personally make him disappear in your sight only. Until he announces his presence to you, you won't find him nor sense him anywhere. Because that's what you want right?"

"Bastard!"

"Like they said, be careful of what you wish for." And Viper punched the hitman in face, enough power to knock him out. "You might be the strongest demon of Fiant, but you just hurt the purest sky of this millennium."

In reality, Mammon is just standing on Reborn's right, the latter's body is just laying on the ground, untouched. The Mist let out a chuckle just as the others went out of the house. Their eyes flickered from him to Reborn. He scoffed. Just because the hitman was famed to be the strongest doesn't mean Viper is not the strongest in terms of mist aura manipulation. He is an esper. And the greatest too.

But what he said was true. It took Tsuna ten minutes to construct the barrier between their lines. When he was done, Tsuna said he felt weak, like his energy was drained. Viper knew it will be the same with Reborn, so he tested it out. Well, he tested out with a sprinkle of vindictiveness. And his theory was right. What the summoner feels will be felt by the contractor, it was one of the contract spell's features.

"Good job." Verde praised.

Viper nodded.

"Where is Tsuna?" Fon asked, worry evident in his calm features.

"Castle. This bastard here told him to get a life and block him out. Tsuna did, just ten minutes ago. I'm not taking sides, but he deserves it."

The Storm sighed. "What happened to him again?"

"I'm itching to put a spell around Tsuna and never let him be seen by this jerk." Mammon informed before rolling his unseen eyes. "But I can't do that without his permission. I'm not as stupid as Reborn."

"Viper. He was just overthinking." Fon admonished.

"Right. Then tell him to keep his shits in check. And don't compare Tsuna to Luce." The other Arcobaleno stared at him. "Cause I know one thing for sure, Luce is dead and Tsuna is alive. Luce is a demon and my sky is human. And my Sky is suffering because he is being compared."

"I'll..." Lal swallowed, feeling sympathetic for the human who helped her. "I'll tell Reborn. Send my apology to Tsuna. I should've known that this will happen. He already declined but I persisted."

"No." Viper rejects. "I was the one who told you to pull him here. I should be the one apologizing. I'm sorry Lal."

The Arcobaleno looked at the chuckling Bermuda who was walking towards them. "Well, Tsuna is a good influencer."

"What do you mean?" Lal questioned with her arms crossed.

"No offense. But if you didn't meet him, you won't be apologizing to each other now. And probably blaming one another." The demons looked at each other as they let the realization sink into them. The Night opened a portal to his right and entered with a wave. "Tell him I'll visit later."

"Mou." Mammon groaned. "Tell him yourself."

The other Arcobaleno laughed at his displeasure.

Tsuna put his pen on his pocket, took the book and stood up with the test paper in hand. The students didn't look up when he walked towards the front, they're already used with his habits anyway. He put his test down to the teacher's table where Nezu-sensei was sitting.

Tsuna yawned as the teacher inspected his answers. He's feeling weak since yesterday, just after he put up the barrier he doesn't sense being maintained by his mind. Viper said it was probably a feature of the contract, and he accepted the theory. Colonnello was reluctant to let him go, but he was good even though he felt sleepy. Not like he wasn't asleep for the rest of the day yesterday.

He just wanna get out of the room that held memories of him and Reborn together. And he doesn't want to see another memory of Reborn with the use of dreams or just plain idling. Idle mind is a devil's workshop after all.

"Tsunayoshi." Nezu-sensei called.

"Yes." He responded as he rubbed his eye with a free hand.

"Don't rub it. It will get irritated." The brunet put his hand up as if complying. "As I was going to tell you, you can have one more subject and you'll be entitled as a summoner."

Tsuna blinked. "Really?"

The teacher nodded. "Yes."

The brunet started to think. If he is one step away from being a summoner, won't he want to take a chance and get it? He can be free already. He can go back home and have a certificate that indicates he has a title to uphold. He can leave this place and never look back-

Tsuna looked back to see the students, especially Hana who is answering her test. Then he returned his attention to Nezu-sensei who is patiently waiting for his response. He also has Kyouya to take care of since that guy hasn't been on a rampage. There's also the bullying and the demons who will miss eating with him.

Hmm... He has a lot of unwritten responsibility. More like he got attach to this prison. He can't just leave unannounced. It will make those people he cares sad. Just what can he do to compromise?

"Is Headmaster Angelo in?" Tsuna asked.

Nezu-sensei nodded slowly, unsure of what the young man in front of him is thinking. "Yes. He's in his office at this moment."

"Great. Thanks Nezu-sensei." The brunet bid with a wave as he walked towards the door.

"Wait, Tsunayoshi!"

The young man looked back and threw a small smile. "You'll be one of the first to know."

The prof can't help himself from sighing in defeat as the brunet went out of the room. The young man walked through the hallways and ascended the stairs. Tsuna hummed as he thought of ways to have a compromise with Headmaster Angelo. Surely, the headmaster will have something in mind.

He stopped in front of the Head's door and knocked softly. He heard a faint 'come in', so he twisted the doorknob and opened the door. The headmaster looked up to see him entering the room. Tsuna just nodded and closed the door softly.

"Take a sit, Tsunayoshi." The headmaster offered, and the child took it. "What can I do for you?"

"Nezu-sensei said I only need a subject to become a summoner." The brunet stated.

'Straight to the point as ever.' The headmaster mused before nodding. "That is true."

"Can I take the subject now? So I can go home?"

Angelo smiled. "Well, we can arrange that."

"But I also want to come back." Headmaster gave him a questioning gaze. "I just can't leave. Hana-chan and Kyouya will kill me in separate ways."

"You want to take more subjects to be a hunter or an exorcist even if you're already a summoner?"

The child shrugged as he started to device a plan. "I can be the first to attain all titles. No one has done it yet. And since I talked to you first, Madam Cara won't have any complains. Better yet, you can accompany me to my proctor. You talk and show the paper, problem solved. The only thing lacking is the certificate you'll give me."

"Hmmm." Headmaster hummed as he took a paper from a drawer and put it on the table. "I've seen this coming, however I did not expect you wanting to come back here."

"Responsibilities are weigh downs." Tsuna reasoned out. "They aren't really chores in my eyes."

"But why so eager to go home? I thought you're okay now. You've not done bad things that made Madam Cara angry for awhile." The headmaster asked, eyeing him while a hand is still writing something on the paper.

Tsuna thought back to Reborn. "I'm just trying to get away from my own prison." Then he gave a cheeky smile that the headmaster fondly shook his head at. "No offense, Headmaster. But I know you know how I hate this school."

"I know." And the headmaster stood up with two papers at hand. "Come, Tsunayoshi. We'll go to Madam Cara to get your test."

Tsuna stood up with a groan. "Why her?"

"You wanted no complains right? Then she's the right person to approach since I'm here to accompany you."

The brunet made a small 'o' with his lips. "I like what you're thinking, Headmaster. If only you've been that bad, we could've gotten along pretty well."

The headmaster chuckled. "I won't be a good example if I do that."

Tsuna only laughed.

He followed Headmaster Angelo. He let the man do the talking when they entered Madam Cara's room. After a minute or so, Headmaster Angelo signed him to sit on one of the empty tables. Madam Cara put a stack of papers on the table and smirked at him. He smirked back, making the professor growl in distaste before stalking towards the front.

Not minding the stares or the conversation between the two school heads, Tsuna skimmed the papers before taking the pen out of his pocket and started to answer the questions. He honestly found it a little hard since he had read the syllabus of the subject a few years back. He was what? Fouteen? Fifteen? But he can answer them still. His brain never fails him.

The test took two hours in total. In those duration, he heard Madam Cara protesting, Headmaster Angelo scolding the teacher, the students groaning and chattering about answers and then some angry shouts from the proctor (probably pissed because Tsuna is getting out of there). He sighed after he put the last answer. Capping his pen, he stood up with the papers in hand and handed it to the lady professor who glared at him. He only smirked smugly before looking at the headmaster expectantly.

"Here is your certificate." Headmaster Angelo said as he handed a fine paper to the brunet with a big proud smile. "Congratulations, Tsunayoshi."

Tsuna stared at the certificate.

"We may not be able to hold a ceremony for you, but once you get back, you'll be awarded accordingly."

"I'll be back in three months." The brunet said with certainty before he met the man's eyes. "By then, I expect the school be bully free. You don't want me to put three weeks worth of three months bullying, do you?"

The students, who heard the challenge, shuddered, remembering the delinquent suddenly popping in front of them and attacking them with a vicious grin like a wild animal on a hunting season. Being bitten by the demon prefect by just standing in the hallway is okay, but being played by the demon delinquent is not fine. It's hell.

"I'll attest to that." The headmaster promised.

Tsuna raised the certificate. "I'll go to Kyouya to get his signature, and probably entrust him all the work." He went for the open door. "My poor little brother. I wonder if he'll be able to keep his temper at bay once I get out of here."

Humming a little tune as he stared at the certificate in hand, Tsuna walked through the corridors again, this time to Kyouya's office. Some DC members stared at him then to the paper in his hands. It took them seconds to figure out what happened, but the brunet was already out of their sights before they can even say their own congratulations to him.

He didn't knock when he got to in front of the Disciplinary office. He opened the door and avoided a tonfa that would've bursted his head in time. His foot hooked on Kyouya's ankle and tugged it, almost causing the raven to trip if someone hadn't caught him. Tsuna stood straighter and closed the door behind him with a sheepish smile. His body moved on his own like it usually does, and not that he's embarrassed but his instincts always go for tripping his opponent.

"Sorry, Kyouya." Tsuna apologized. Kyouya growled. "Hey! You attacked first. You could've avoided it if you remembered how I work." He defended.

"Kufufufu... He's just stressed, Tsunayoshi." A male voice chimed, making the skylark growl louder.

"Kyouya-san." A female voice chided.

Tsuna chuckled before opening the door and placing his things outside. "We can just finish this up before I talk to you about something important."

"What something?" The male voice asked for his summoner.

The brunet closed the door with an innocent smile. "I'm going home."
