A/N:
@kaigirl16: Tell me about it.
@michiko-chan27: Got hold back a little by sleep that's why I couldn't update early. Sorry for scaring you like that. Oh. The demon blood? HAHAHA! You'll understand how that works. Especially with his oozing sky aura. Like if you're a demon, you'll get more you have aura in your body. I also feel the same thing! Like kill Tsuna already! Especially those reincarnation stories? Being transferred to another world or just going back to time. Poor guy.
@ShadowEmperor2030: Thank you. Hahaha. I hope you stay until the end.
@16Sakura21: HAHAHA! I like your thoughts! I love to make them suffer a little or something too... Let's see~
@Hina-cchi: *receives all the hearts you threw* Thank you. Hahaha! Thank you for your suggestion too! I just thought that you'll get pissed with those Arcobaleno who went for Aria, so yeah. Hahaha! Reborn just knew what will come that's why he didn't tell them about Aria going for them as her elements. I just can't have Tsuna not save the world, it's kind of his role. I was really reluctant on putting Gokudera on that part. I thought it wasn't right but it worked will as a trigger. Oh. I don't think I have Yuni, Byakuran and Tsuna interaction in here. I'll see. Hahaha!
@acertainpasserby: I know. Skull is great. Really great. But I don't think Reborn is shy about the kiss. He just doesn't want them to joke around with him as a topic (Shit. Reborn? Shy? I didn't see that. Hahaha!). There will be a time Bakadera will apologize. And Tsuna has to sacrifice a lot of things for the sake of humanity and demons. He generally does all the sacrifices in the world. Hahaha! Poor guy.
I just wanna explain why Lal, Fon and Verde went to Aria. It's obviously because they were one of those who nurtured her as she grew up. Remember? Aria spent half a millennia with her mother, alongside with the Arcobaleno. So in a sense, the three 'insists' that they know her more than Tsuna, that she's rational enough to not anger Tsuna because she's old and wise and everything nice while Tsuna is still a child. Besides, Noerim's leader with a beautiful castle and good facilities, Aria has everything to offer to them. Who won't be attracted with her offer to them to stay in her castle?
Skull didn't really care about Aria because imagine it, why would the Arcobaleno entrust Aria to some clumsy Skull? It means he doesn't know her that much or interacted with her (another reason why he dumps all invitation letters the house receives on the trash bin for four millennia). Viper likes Tsuna's sky aura, and he's a esper. So of course he thought of what Aria was thinking. He just wanna check the place (statement to that is he didn't wear the cloak Luce gave him as a gift like Reborn's fedora). Bermuda doesn't care about Giglio Nero skies, he's Tsuna's from the very start. Lastly, if Colonnello didn't hear how selfish Aria was and how Tsuna went so possessive over them, he will go with the three. But he didn't because he knew what was right.
In conclusion, Lal, Verde and Fon do not know that they blocked Tsuna out of anger to 'what he had done'. Let's make them feel what Reborn felt. They deserve it.
So that's it. Hahaha! I put them in one explanation because I don't want to confuse you of why the three went for Aria. Anyway, thank you for all the reviews. It's good you love the chapter. Hope you'll like this new update too, regardless of grammar mistakes and spelling errors.
Anyway, don't mind me and my blubbering. Onwards!
Chapter Fifty-Two
Belial slowly stood up from his throne and looked up to the hazy grey sky of Hell. He stared a little before smirking with murderous intent and deviousness.
"It's time."
Lal crinkled her nose as she stared at her targets in disdain. Not one was hit on the center. Her aim was off. She has been coming back there for three days and they're still off. She kept on practicing but nothing's happening. Just what's wrong with her?
"Maybe you should go back to him."
She swirled around to see Aria leaning by the doorjamb. Midnight blue eyes bore on her like she knew something Lal doesn't.
Aria has been hospitable when she, Fon, Bermuda and Verde came. They were provided with their own rooms, necessities and permission to roam around. There was so much trust on them to not do anything damaging. Well, they really didn't since they only stay at one place or two. Verde is with the scientists and sometimes at the library. Fon is usually in the training room or in the garden to meditate. Bermuda is usually by his room and roaming around, or in the garden too. And she's always at the shooting range, trying to perfect her messed up aiming.
The only thing she's worried now is the hollow feeling in her being. Tsuna's sky aura is missing within her. The steady warmth she got used to feel was gone with half of her aura. And when she tried to see the line, there's a barrier in there and it looked grey. Even Tsuna's contract tattoo was grey. She had asked the others, however, Bermuda is the only one who has a good line. And when she tried to contact Viper, the Mist couldn't answer. It feels weird not hearing any conversation inside her head, or Tsuna's voice saying facts and things at the most random times (even at two am in the middle of the night).
"Your aura is missing your Sky." Aria stated. "It seems fair. I heard Tsunayoshi isn't faring good too."
"Reborn is there." Lal clipped as she focused on her task. She changed magazines. "Skull, Colonnello and Viper stayed too. I don't even know why they have to stay when Tsuna did something bad to you."
"Tsunayoshi did something bad to me? What kind?" The other queried, confused.
Lal looked back to Aria with a raised brow. "He declared war on you."
The family boss frowned. "When? I don't remember such a thing happening."
"At the party. I heard Tsuna tried to intimidate you with his aura. I don't even know what brought that up. He's a reasonable kid. He will not do something that will endanger him in an unknown territory for him." The Mist-rain reminded, a little irritated at the fact.
"I think you misunderstood, Lal." Aria calmly stated. "I was the one who declared war on him."
"What?!" Lal exclaimed, eyes widening at the information. "But they said you kneeled in front of him."
"I did got on my knees because I couldn't take on his aura. It was too powerful. I approached him first in the balcony and asked him things. I even called him bad names that he didn't mind. I was the one who got angry first. He got mad when he felt like I insulted the reason why my mother died."
"What reason?"
"That her sacrifice was to weaken the Sins to make them fall asleep and also keep them like that in a short while once they wake up. He didn't tell you?" Lal shook her head. It made Aria's brows furrow a little. "That's odd."
"But Wrath was pretty much as himself. And Pride too."
"Then they must have woken up by a long time now." Aria concluded as she eyed her with reprimand. "You should've never doubted your Sky, Lal. Tsunayoshi might have got into my nerves and I hate him for taking the Arcobaleno from me, I still see him as a respectable person. And like you said, he's a reasonable human. He will never declare a war. And if he did, I would've hunted him already regardless of how powerful he is."
"You're right." She nodded, convinced with what the boss of Giglio Nero said. She almost scowled though as a memory of Reborn asking her for verification crossed her mind. 'That prick. He could've said something.'
"Mom!"
Both women looked at the incoming Yuni. The child is running like her life depends on it. What tensed them was the fact that the child looked panicked and in complete distress. When the kid skidded to stop, she looked straight at Lal and uttered the words that made her froze in horror and fear.
"Belial has Tsunayoshi Sawada!"
When Tsuna opened his eyes, he was greeted by darkness. He blinked and stayed still while keeping his breath even. He silently checked for pain. He mentally sighed in relief when he felt none. Now, where is he?
"You are an intelligent one." A honeyed voice said somewhere in the darkness.
"Busted." Tsuna muttered to himself as he tried to get up.
It felt surreal for him to sit up since he can't see anything. He can feel the smooth floor he's sitting on, but he can't hear anything nor hear things like the wind or water, but he can hear his breathing and his mind is too loud. Even his nose can't pick up anything. It feels like all his senses were blocked except his ability to feel. He doesn't even know if the voice he heard was from outside of his brain or inside his mind.
Tsuna tried to recall what happened before he got in his situation. He remembered saying goodbye to the Arcobaleno who were lounging on his room. He even recalls Skull saying that he'll search for him after his second class. He did got to his first class and greeted Hana who was there already. But when he was walking for his second class where he'll meet up with Mochida, he found himself sinking before black ate his vision and lost his consciousness.
He cautiously tested the mind link, trying to hear any voices. Unfortunately, he heard nothing. He didn't try to contact anyone since no voices mean no line. He checked his lines, and like he suspected, they're all grey. He cleared his mind, thinking of the darkness while tugging his intuition for any guidelines. It silently hummed, prompting him to keep quiet and play along.
"What are you thinking perhaps? Hmm... This is troublesome. I cannot read your mind." The voice mused. "Or is it empty?"
Tsuna kept his mouth shut, mentally celebrating at that fact. It means he can think of all possible strategies.
"You do look like that human who visited Hell five millenniums ago. His hair was blond and eyes were blue. Such a shame he died sealing us. If he was only alive, I could've killed him myself."
Silence.
"You aren't one to talk, are you?" Tsuna kept himself from tensing when he felt a cold air by the back of his right ear. "I wonder who you really are."
"You sure give a novice vibe." The brunet pointed out as he kept himself calm. "You took me without any information. Byakuran Gesso is much competent than you are. Some demons aren't that smart then."
"You're insulting your captor, human."
Tsuna rolled his eyes (or so he thought since he doesn't know if he really did cause he can't see anything). "You might as well be informed that this kind of tactics do not scare me."
A silence before a honeyed laughter was heard. "No wonder you were able to give Pride such a scare. You even got away from Lust who was very set on killing you."
Tsuna immediately closed his eyes when the place erupted with fire. He braced his face with a hand to shield himself from the unwelcome blaze that never ceased to dim to the point that his eyes teared up a bit. It felt a little hot and his breathing suddenly went short. He can sense the large amount of miasma in the air that slowly giving him the cold feeling of dread and death.
Trying to regulate his breathing as his eyes adjusted to the light from behind their lids, he brought his hand down then opened his eyes to see where he is. He's in a throne room with pillars on the sides that keep the ceiling from caving in. The part where he is was the pathway for the chair. It's pretty spacey and can swallow him whole for he's on the very center. The source of light though was from the boiling magma on both sides of the pathway. They splash even with their high viscosity. And at the chair is a massive demon he had never seen for once in his life time.
The demon ranges from Reborn's to Skull's demon forms without the wings. It has a charred ripped body with narrowed crimson red eyes. The horns are on both sides of his head and are pretty thick, almost like a buffalo's horns. The only thing that covers the demon is the red skirt that he usually read on gladiators that has a gold belt.
The demon looked ready to kill him after toying him. And with all honesty, Tsuna feels like he's getting murdered already from the aura itself. Too intense, too murderous, too dark. There's greater power from the demon that makes him want to back away, perhaps cower somewhere for the first time in his life. If he was stupid, he won't say this is one of the rulers of Hell. Cause he obviously is one of the rulers. This demon is way out of his league.
"Welcome to my abode, young great sky." The demon greeted with a shit-eating smirk. "You have worked your rank on my list and I personally praise you for that."
Tsuna kept his silence.
"I have been actively knowing your moves to know what you're going to do with your power and guardians-"
"Elements." Tsuna rectified. Inside his mind, he's wondering if the demon took pleasure of 'actively knowing' what he's doing in the bathroom. There's no such privacy with this one.
"-by your side." The demon continued on. "You're rather good at interacting with demons. You're not scared of me. You even caught Wrath's attention who is very aloof. Or is it Ira?"
The human nodded. "But I won't call him that if I were you. He didn't give you permission."
"I have the authority." The demon replied, making Tsuna raise a brow.
"Even if you have the authority, you cannot call him with his name. He didn't give you the permission nor tell you his name personally. You know him as Wrath and not Ira," Then the young man smirked. "Belial."
The demon's brows perked up before a smile bloomed his face. "Oho. How did you know?"
"Authority." Tsuna sat prettily with his legs in a pretzel while facing the demon. He braced his elbow on a leg and cupped his cheek with the hand. "You have the authority over the Sins. You also mentioned Pride and Lust. It means you're their leader, the mastered by none, Belial."
"Incredible!" Belial praised with a nod, eyes gleaming with something Tsuna can't read. "Such intelligence. You are worthy of your title, young great sky. You can almost pass on as a demon yourself."
"There is a demon blood in me." The brunet informed, eyes looking around the area for possible escape. Apparently, none is visible. "About ten to the negative power of fifty? And probably really active."
"Fascinating."
The human rolled his eyes with a fake grin. "You've been praising me like I'm a child. It's frankly irritating. Won't you grant me the honor of knowing your reason of holding me captive for a change of subject?"
"Now now, little one. Do not be hasty." The demon joked.
Tsuna scoffed but didn't respond.
"Cat got your tongue?"
"Why? You want me to talk more?"
The demon cackled. "Yes since you're the reason why you're here. You have been thinking of how you became a murderer. Your mind is full of negative thoughts that resulted for your negative feelings and desire. Such notions shall drive a demon like me to have you in my chamber."
Tsuna mummed. He was that negative? He did questioned himself, and kind of went depressed without Reborn or the others knowing. His memories and feeling about what happened in Namimori ate him again while pressing himself as the reason why a lot of town's people died. But he didn't know it was that... Severe.
"Your yearn for salvation is tasty, human. The way you think of death and blaming yourself for such circumstances, have you thought of how you make every demon in all level crave for your soul? So bright yet so dark. You have the brightest aura yet you have the darkest thoughts. You haven't done any self-harm but the record of you thinking of dying is so lengthy. Much longer than those times you want to live. Now, I want to know why you still want to die. Is it because Pride murdered a lot of your people? Or because your grandpa died?"
"Are you a psychologist then?" The brunet questioned with a brow raised before shaking his head as if dismayed. Although he is a little surprised. "No. You're just letting me talk my regrets out before you kill me."
"You really are a smart one for your kind."
"Should I say thank you then?"
Tsuna watched the demon sat straighter and fluidly got up from his throne. "Perhaps. I am the one holding your life at this moment. You should be cowering under my gaze and my aura. You should be dying already with the miasma in this room. But you're rather adept to surviving. Was it your grandfather who taught you of such thing?"
In a blink of an eye, Tsuna got caught in the neck by a large hand and was lifted off the ground. The brunet had to close his eyes in pain when the hold tightened. He dangled in the air as the demon guffawed at his misery. His intuition alerted him, and he took a big breathe to hold as Belial began to choke him.
"Such a beautiful expression! You are truly fascinating! If you were only obedient and took one summon instead of eight, you won't be in this situation! Ah. Regardless, you'll still be punished for taking on the greatest demon of Fiant. That demon can erase the Sins with just his power. Of course, if you took any of the others, they'll be as powerful as that Sun and-"
'Tsuna.' The pertained brunet perked up at the call in his head. 'Listen to me, Child. You need to alert your summons.'
Tsuna tried to speak in his mind, but air was limited and he's already feeling weak.
'Save your breath for your last words. You were taught to always have the last laugh, weren't you? To inform you, your aura is building up to a dangerous level. You need to let them out. You need to think of a way to do such a thing and alert your summons in the process.'
The brunet tried his hardest to think of a way. What was the possible way? He can't just compress it and let it explode and burn Belial in the- Oh.
The voice chuckled. 'Clever. Clever, Child. But be warned, your aura will be very low if you do it.'
He remembered his promise to Viper.
'Very well. We will meet again, my Child.'
Tsuna let himself go to his usual trance. He imagined himself reading a book and breathing normally. It was a trick he formulated whenever he and Iemitsu play hide and seek in the house. His father always commented on the irregularity of his breathing that it can be heard whenever he's hiding. With this, he will trick his mind while holding his breath.
Reaching inside him, he can feel his aura running rampage in his veins, surging everywhere in his body. Slowly, he tried to pull them back all together in the center of his body. It wasn't a hard job, but it wasn't easy too. He isn't as good as Reborn in controlling nor compressing his aura, nor had time to practice how to do it.
Trusting his intuition, he opened his eyes and stared at Belial who was grinning at him like he was succeeding on killing him. He smirked when the demon's smile faltered at the sight of him.
"Sorry, Belial." He whispered with his last breathe. "Killing me won't happen."
And he let go of his rampaging aura.
All of them looked at Skull who punched the wall beside him. The concrete caved in and some cements have fallen with the impact. Surely, it made a small crater. The Cloud is out of his usual character, but with Tsuna missing, it can't be helped.
What really makes them worried was Reborn. The sun arcobaleno has been quiet since Lal had entered with the others and the two Giglio Nero skies, and informed them of what was happening. It wasn't because his silence was unusual. The hitman went back to his quiet self, but the amount of input he gave was what they're concern about. He said nothing at all. No hum, no grunt, no groan, no 'hn'. Nada. They know that if Tsuna isn't found within the next few hours, Reborn will personally open the portal of Hell to attack. And with how Skull is acting, they know he'll gladly tag along. Unlikely pair but for the sake of the Sky? They'll pair up.
Since their bonds were cut off by Belial (Colonnello had cursed the demon like a sailor in all language he knew for cutting them off), they went for an all out search. They even had Viper search the whole academy for any possible detection of the familiar sky aura. Yuni tried to use her premonition, but she has been coming out empty. However, they couldn't loss hope. They even had put Bermuda on stand by if any case that they sense Tsuna.
"Where could he be?" Verde questioned.
"All we could do is wait." Fon sighed. He looked so calm outside, but they knew (even without the connection) that he's very worried inside.
"Once I get a hand of that fucking leader of Sins, I will rip him apart." Lal spat, eyes glowing in mixture of blue and indigo.
"Tsuna will give a signal." Viper stated as he floated.
"If he's not..." Verde trailed off.
"No." Viper negated, red eyes becoming visible under the shadow of his hood. "He promised me he will do any possible means to come back to us. He will come back. He will give a signal."
"And he never breaks a promise." Colonnello added on softly.
"Luce." They all looked at Yuni who said that. The child is looking at her left in a daze, hands gripping her mother's. "She said Giotto had aided his child."
"Bermuda." Reborn called, unexpectedly becoming agitated. "Basement-"
All of them almost fell when a burst of sky aura was suddenly felt. They can hear low demons chirping and howling at the sheer power. It came in powerful waves. The Arcobaleno stood their ground. Bermuda didn't need to be told twice by Reborn to open a portal to where the source of aura is. The first to enter was Reborn and Skull. When they went in, they noticed it's a basement.
"Phoenix." Yuni said in a daze.
Viper levitated towards the child. "What did you see?"
"Tsunayoshi..." The Sky started. "He's burning like a phoenix from the hold of Belial. He's reaping a portal from Belial's world to here. He's burning the sin leader."
"Tsuna!" Viper heard Colonnello and Skull shouted.
"They're borrowing him..."
"Who?" Aria asked, talking for the first time. "Who are they?"
"Luce... Giotto... Tizia..." Yuni responded before looking at the still open portal. "They're borrowing him..."
"What for?" Viper questioned, eyes widening at the word 'borrow'.
"Kawahira..." The child continued on. "She said... She'll guide me... She said I'll receive it..."
"What it?" The mother questioned, slowly paling.
"Something..." Yuni shook her head. "To help... Tsunayoshi..." Then the daze look vanished and gazed straight to Viper. "They said stay by his side always."
The Mist pondered at what he discovered as he flew inside the portal. What do they mean by 'borrowing' Tsuna?
Reborn flared his aura, trying to search that source of sky he can feel. It was so close but too small to distinguish where it's coming from. Like a hole of a small needle that is too hard to find. But with his senses and aura, nothing will by pass him. Even if that hole is the tiniest.
When he found it, he charged up his gun with sun aura and pointed it at the hole. Then he pulled the trigger. The sun bullet whizzed to the small opening and made it big enough for all his fingers to latch on. He grinned as he gained connection to the his Sky. He let his gun fall, put all his finger on either side of the hole and tried to rip it apart.
Skull almost tripped when he ran towards Reborn to help. He can feel the connection clipping in as his colleague tries to open the small portal wider. To help, he went for his hulk mode and replaced Reborn's left hand with his. With a small count, he pulled open. The moment the portal reaped like a paper, Lal and Colonnello started to shoot with their guns. Fon entered the portal. Skull could only watch as the Storm caught Tsuna in the air while Belial retreated with a nasty burn on the right side of his body and some bullet holes on his shoulders and arms.
"Tsuna!" All of them shouted as Fon ran towards them.
"We need to close the portal." The Chinese demon said in panic as he ran for the portal leading to Tsuna's portal. "It's full of miasma."
"On it." Viper caught in. "Bermuda, I need you here."
Verde ran too, wanting to check on Tsuna since he's the scientist among them.
"Come on, Reborn." Lal said as she pulled the hitman to Tsuna's room. "You're a sun. Tsuna will need your aura to fix damaged things."
Skull went back to his original body and pushed Reborn by his back. "Come on, Sempai."
"Skull." He looked back to Viper who is slowly sealing the portal. "Yuni said they're borrowing him."
"Borrow...?"
"I don't think Tsuna will wake up anytime soon." The Mist opined.
"What?!" Bermuda blurted.
Skull's jaw slackened in surprise as his mind clicked with what the esper had said. "Well, shit."
The connection suddenly disappeared.
