A/N:
@michiko-chan27: Hahaha. It's already done. The omake is already written. I'm just waiting for the book to reach epilogue. Demons can regenerate. Like remember when Reborn consoled Tsuna when he cried over the Siberian tiger Reborn had to kill? When Tsuna cooked for him? It's the same with the demons. It's either get accepted in heaven or get regenerated again in Fiant. So in a sense, Pride didn't die. He's recovering. Thank you for waiting too. I did read those KHRxSnS crossovers. They're the reason why I want to make one. Peace! Haha.
@ShadowEmperor2031: You ship them? Pride and Tsuna? Woah!! Hahaha! I like that! Thank you for shipping them. Although I envisioned Pride as much nastier than Reborn. Like he's more on brag while Reborn has this arrogance. Ah. The crossover will be posted after I post two KHR stories, I think? I want to establish my foundation in FF first that I can write KHR stories as a whole or something.
@LavaLilly: Haha. Sorry. My Gmail gave me a late notif of your review. There is a draw back on Tsuna's body after sleeping two months, not that excessive though since he can move by himself in that state, unlike those usual people who fell in coma. And it's good you had a jump when Tsuna suddenly woke up and saved Hana. HAHAHA.
Thank you for the reviews! And the positive replies about the crossover. Hoo. I was thinking twice about it since cooking is not my forte. I don't cook. Hahaha. But I'm enjoying myself on researching nice recipes. Hahaha.
So I'm just gonna drop this second update of the week. No worries, I'll update two more later. Just spoiling you guys cause you deserve this, although this chapter is a filler with the next one. A calm before the final battle.
Anyway, go on. Enjoy (I think?). Hahaha!
Chapter Fifty-Eight
Tsuna clenched his hands then stared at how his fists were formed before uncurling them. He looked up when Byakuran sat down in front of him with a female semi-demon. Tsuna reached out for his cup of chocolate drink as the ruler of Mios put a hand lit with sky aura on top of the demon and closed his eyes, face frowning a little in concentration. The brunet just watched while waiting.
Today was the day Tizia will talk to him. He was informed by Viper that Byakuran invited him for a tea (more of chocolate drink) to talk with the late Mios queen. Of course, Bermuda did the honors of teleporting him in front of the castle with his usual uniform. He was welcomed by Kikyo and Zakuro, the ones he remembered shielding Byakuran from him and Reborn when they 'visited'. The two were hospitable, although Zakuro is a little salty but still nice. They did ask where were his elements. He assured him that they're around. Oh how the Arcobaleno snickered their asses off from their house.
Byakuran received him with a warm welcome. The lilted smile was still there, the crinkled eyes of pleasure and the happy aura too. His intuition told him that the intention of the king is clear and pleasant and the happiness is genuine. He still didn't give his smile. Byakuran didn't apologize okay? But he wondered where the wings were.
He was ushered to a living room with a nice set of furniture and served with chocolate drink. He was also offered with marshmallows that he put five on his own mug. He was informed that Byakuran and Tizia argued about the latter possessing the former. Of course Byakuran wants to talk to her too, so they compromised on letting her possess another demon, which is the female semi-demon beside the king.
Tsuna chewed on a marshmallow as Byakuran removed his hand from the semi-demon who opened her eyes. The brunet smiled as peanut brown eyes zeroed on him.
"Welcome to our era, Queen Tizia." Tsuna greeted in a pleasant tone.
"Oh please. I'm not a queen anymore." Tizia lightly denied before looking around. It doesn't change the fact that she blushed at her title though. "I deemed it the transition is successful."
"Yes." Byakuran answered in a little polite tone. "It was a little exhausting though."
"You'll live." The late queen dismissed before resting her back to the rest of the sofa, elbow on the nearest arm beside her and hands on her crossed legs. With a raise of her brow, she asked, "So what are we going to talk about?"
"Hm." The brunet hummed as he sipped on his drink. "Since you're the most knowledgeable one among us, I would like to ask questions."
Tizia nodded with an approval. "Go on."
"Can you tell me about the world? Of what you discovered?"
"You need to be specific, child." The late queen advised as she reached out for the mug of chocolate drink Byakuran offered. "There are too many worlds in this universe. For you, you have billions."
Tsuna took a deep breath when he understood that.
"What do you mean?" Byakuran questioned, probably lost at the sudden shift of the topic.
"She means possibilities." The young man informed. "There are million billions of possibilities that can branch off from future to future. For example, right now you served a chocolate to Tizia and that made her admire your hospitality. At one point, if you didn't serve her the drink, she could've cursed you in her head. One simple decision results to a lot of possibilities."
"Then why do you have billions?"
"Because he needs to ask the right things to finalize the future he wants." Tizia responded for him. "If Kawahira's information about you is true, then I believe you already finished your research."
Tsuna felt his gut churn to displeasure as he remembers what he did the past days. "It's not enough. I can't find the right solution. Verde and Viper are already helping me, even Skull is giving me his inputs. But nothing still."
"Maybe we should start with what these worlds are made up?" Byakuran suggested as he put marshmallows on his mug.
"Byakuran," Tsuna sighed in exasperation and a hint of mirth, as he snatched the marshmallow packet from the albino. "That's not a drink anymore."
The king pouted as he stared at his little mountain longingly. "But it's marshmallows."
"I'm so glad you're not human." The brunet said as he took some of the fluffy treat and put them on his and Tizia's cups. "You'll be diagnosed with diabetes if you kept eating this sugary stuffs."
Tizia giggled while Byakuran only stared at him.
"So let's start with Byakuran's suggestion." The late queen said as her eyes glazed with knowledge. "The world is composed of chemical elements, as human philosophers have pegged. But, in terms of energy, it was created by eight auras that we also acquired. It will take another eight auras to create another world."
His intuition spiked. The brunet immediately took a paper and a pen from his pockets and started to write what Tizia had said.
"If you're one of the greatest, it will be possible that you can contribute in making a new world."
"Is it possible for the Sins to do it?" Tsuna questioned.
Tizia shook her head. "Sins have taints in there auras."
"But what about us demons? And yes, I consider myself one because I have a demon blood in me." Tsuna asked with elaboration to keep Byakuran from asking. He does not want to explain how messed up his bloodline is.
"The auras of demons can be cleansed in peculiar ways. It's the reason why they get reincarnated or regenerated when they die. They can be saved. The Sins cannot. They've done too much that it will take millions of years for them to be accepted again, or worse, nothing at all."
"And the sealing?"
"You have to ask Kawahira about that." The late queen smiled sympathetically. "I could only offer you the knowledge I found about the world to help you with your goal. In the art of sealing, Kawahira and Giotto will be there."
"How will his ancestor help him?" Byakuran asked with child-like curiosity. "Does he have to possess someone too?"
"No." Tsuna responded, mind turning of how he can explain things for Byakuran. The other doesn't know that much about him so he has to at least tell him a pinch or something. "Our line has this mental ability that was passed from him. We call it hyper intuition or just intuition. It's a kind of alien in the head that alerts me of what will happen, be it danger or something I'll be pleased about. So in a sense, he's already helping. But Tizia, how did you know all of this?"
Tizia sipped on her drink before smiling. "It's a power bestowed to me after acquiring another five auras in my system."
"That can be possible?" Byakuran questioned, surprised and unbelieving. "But you need to gain such from willing creatures."
"And if they're dying." Tizia added. "They were willing to give it to me because they want me to survive. At first, it made me crazy. All the things I could see were so overwhelming that I had troubles identifying myself from those I'm really seeing."
"You mean-"
"Parallel worlds." Byakuran answered to Tsuna with a grave smile. "I've experienced that when I was still a child. It was done when you weren't born yet. My counterpart wanted to destroy our world, but you weren't existing yet and I'm stronger since I'm a demon. So I regained my sanity."
"Huh." The brunet mumbled, sounding not even surprised. "So in a sense, you already know what this is?"
"Maybe. But these worlds always have things common in them, and the eight auras are the center of everything. It's what keeps the world alive. In a sense, I got these knowledge because I attained the impossible. And it is not recommended, children." The late queen advised.
Tsuna snorted. "My hands are already full with all this load of sky aura in my body. Not even the pacifier can keep it from growing. So nope. I won't want to wish something stupid. Thank you very much."
"I'll think about it." Byakuran joked, earning a scathing glare from the late queen while the brunet snickered. "I'm kidding."
"Anyway, more questions?" Tizia queried.
Tsuna and Byakuran didn't hesitate asking anything to her.
"You found the solution?"
Tsuna looked up to see Kawahira floating in front him. His eyes went to Reborn who was still sleeping soundly on the space he vacated an hour ago (probably to get more of the warmth he left). If his demon didn't wake up on the immortal's presence, it means they're under a veil of illusion.
"Kind of. Still tinkering it. Why you ask?" He answered softly before looking down at the notes he had taken from his little conference with Tizia and Byakuran.
"Just checking."
"Hm."
They basked in silence. Kawahira observed the child in front of him. Technically, he's a young man. But with an immortal's age, he cannot help labelling everyone as children, all except for the Arcobaleno of course. But well, Tsuna looked stressed. Tizia had informed him about the brunet's question on the sealing. Giotto had informed him about 'doubts'. And he can't blame the child for thinking like that.
To have such burden on his shoulders, it was a good thing Tsuna has this good mentality of rolling with the punches. But the pressure will get to the brunet somehow. He didn't expect it to get to the child that fast though. Even if Tsuna could comprehend the situation, the reason why he had to do it is not specified. The reason why he has to be the center of everything isn't explained to him clearly. Oh how he wished Ietsuna Sawada was alive. That human will apprehend the info, and will make the child understand everything.
"What will you want to do, Kawahira-oji?" Tsuna questioned out of the blue. He stared at the child in askance of what he means. "Once I change the world?"
Kawahira stared at the human in front of him before humming in thoughts. "I want to be human again and be with my love at long last."
"Was it unrequited?" The child questioned, eyes lit with attentiveness.
The immortal chuckled. "I wonder."
Tsuna looked back to Reborn before smiling sadly. "I wonder too."
"It's okay, Tsunayoshi." Kawahira assured. "Your love is requited."
"But I cannot enjoy it." The brunet lamented sadly. "I wonder why I have to do this... thing if my happiness will always be the sacrifice for it."
"Why indeed." Kawahira mumbled before clearing his throat. "So you've been asking about the essence of the sealing."
"Ah yes. Well, I already have a hunch on what is it for, so I need your verification."
"What is it then?"
"Since we can purify them, it means they'll get accepted by heaven?"
"That's the thought, child." Kawahira honestly replied. "I also have doubts in this solution. But it's the only thing I can see and the most effective one at this moment."
"Well, if we're talking about purifying the sins, it means we're not really sealing them. Like you've said, it's a kind of exorcism." The brunet mused with worry. "The thing I'm really worried about is what will happen if the sins were purified. Won't the balance of the world tip? Or get destroyed? Or will my demons be their replacements?"
"Well, that's the reason why you're searching for your own solution right?"
A big silence.
"God." The young man groaned as he ruffled his hair in frustration. "Why me, Kawahira-oji? Why can't just Giotto reincarnate himself and do this stuffs? I'm not even a sorcerer to begin with! I only modified some of his incantations! I'm just applying what I learned and read in here! I'm not an expert!"
"Kurokawa used an original spell of yours."
The child glowered at him. "Not counted."
Kawahira chuckled before leveling a look on the child. "You still don't understand, do you?"
"I really don't. I don't understand why I'm doing this when I'm much of a hypocrite. Why I'm a sky when I hate the majority of human population. Why I'm Giotto's descendant. Why I have to think of a solution for the whole world to survive. Why I have to plan something to at least subdue the Sins. Heck! I'm even thinking of exempting Ira because he doesn't deserve the exorcism! He has justified reasons! I won't even mind becoming like him if this world had done me so much wrong!"
"Tsunayoshi, that's what makes you a sky." Kawahira said with a small smile, clearly amused with the young man's ranting.. "A hypocrite who wants to leave the world alone yet does his best to save it. You want the better good of those people you met and the people they met. Because you still believe that there is good in this world regardless of all the things they have done to you. And I believe your mother had reminded you your reason right?"
"It's still doesn't explain to me how I became a sky."
"Hmm... Maybe because you know what pain feels. How it hurts to lose someone, to be alone, to be blamed, to be hated of something you didn't do. To be discriminated of something you're clearly not. You sympathize. You empathize. If you didn't know how painful it is to have no one, you won't be Kyouya Hibari's older brother. If you didn't know how painful it is to be friendless, you won't be Hana Kurokawa's friend. Of how painful it is for Enma to be bullied almost all the time. How hurtful it is to be unrecognized with all your efforts like Douhachiro Nezu. Or the way Kensuke Mochida lives up to his name as a bully in the past and you know how hard it is to have someone with you when you have hurt a lot.
"I know at some point, you questioned your purpose in life. You still do right now. But when you had this dream of wanting to change the world and wishing you could after you saved Reborn, your fate had been sealed. You're the factor that always have the power to change everything for better or for worse, Tsunayoshi. Remember, a sky can bring out the best or the worst of his elements. Maybe you're just thinking too much, my child."
Tsuna made a face of defiance before he sighed in defeat. "It's just my brain. It's working overtime."
"Have you been sleeping nicely these days?"
"I honestly don't." The brunet responded with exasperation before a yawn went out of his lips. "I just can't seem to sleep. I've tried drinking milk, but still nothing."
"Maybe you don't cuddle that much with Reborn." Kawahira smiled as red crept on the child's face. "Do you have anything you want to say more?"
"My mind went blank just now."
"Maybe that's a sign that you need sleep."
Brown eyes blinked before understanding passed through them. "Perhaps. Thanks Kawahira-ji. Wait. Why do I call you uncle when you're five millennia and some years old? Shouldn't I call you grandpa or something?"
"Just sleep." The immortal dismissed with a snap of his finger.
Tsuna fell back as his eyes closed and his breathing evened. Kawahira watched as Reborn opened his own, reached out for the notes and arranged them in a neat pile before putting them away to the night stand. The hitman draped half of the shared blanket on the human and hauled him to his chest. When their eyes met, Reborn nodded a thanks. Kawahira only smiled pleasantly before he disappeared.
Belial stared at the Seven Sins assembled in front of him. They're on their knees, except for Wrath, who's sitting crossed legs as if he's not in a meeting. They're obviously going to talk about the human sky who outwitted four Sins with the help of his summons. The demon's mind wandered to what happened the last time. He looked at the part where the burn of pure sky aura was still visible. He sighed.
With all honesty, he wants to let go of the Sins. He had too much humiliation already that the supreme demons have made fun of his injury and pride. They have been praising the human out loud. Right within his hearing perimeter. What's more insulting was the fact that they want to meet the human.
Well, yes. It was a feat to be able to get out of his hold. He was so sure that he can kill the creature with just a choke. It was fun seeing that face go twisted with pain and lack of air. He didn't even suspect the power blast. He was almost charred. In conclusion, it was truly amazing. But it wasn't worth all the singing praises his fellow demons can come up with.
Hmm. Now. How to get rid of the Sins?
His eyes twitched when Wrath let out a yawn. The disrespectful demon. He and that human are all disrespectful. They don't give enough regards to power and its holder. All they do is make a conversation and do dismissing motions after. The Sin even has a small amount of sky aura in his system. That human is too sneaky for his own good.
Oh he wonders...
Belial cackled evilly as he slowly cut off Wrath's connection from all the demon in the world. He watched as the Sin slowly makes a frowning face, as if he's having a trouble figuring something out. Good good. That will kill him immediately. Not even that human can help him.
"What did you do?" Wrath questioned out loud, garnering his fellow Sins' attentions.
"I cut off your sources." Belial answered simply, eyes twinkling in happiness. "You've been rather peculiar, Wrath. I cannot take such attitude for long. So I'm giving you your punishment."
"Huh." The Sin breathed out before storm aura went out of his body as he stood. "I should probably get going then."
"You should-"
Belial found himself staring at a rubble of the old palace that had been Wrath's victim for over the years. They were blasted off by the Sin's storm aura, disintegrating three-fourth of the castle. Good thing he unconsciously redirected the blast that was meant for him to the other part of the castle. It could've been troublesome to his still healing burns, just why the heck sky aura are so hard to heal?
The other Sins merged from their hiding places, scowls on some of them (Envy, Lust and Pride) and few were indifferent. Belial tried to see if Wrath is anywhere. Certainly, he can feel the Storm Sin moving to Fiant in a fast motion, aura slowly depleting at what he's doing. He shrugged. Not that he cared. One Sin out, six more to go.
"What do you plan, my lord?" Pride questioned from his position.
Belial rested his elbow on the arm of his throne, chin propped on his hand and quirked a brow on the Sin. "What have you planned? Aren't you recovered enough? Wrath did give you a number last time."
"I'm alright. I'm ready to take my revenge." Pride answered with confidence.
Belial almost snorted but he kept his face smooth. Revenge he says when he can't even touch the sun arcobaleno. "What about the others?"
"I want to eat the sky." Gluttony expressed as he threw the torso he was eating just a second ago. "He was really nice. Right, Envy?"
"Yes. He will look good with my vines." The aforementioned Sin nodded with determined kill in her eyes.
"Then race for the sky again?" Greed queried, a little excited.
"Sure sure." Sloth slurred, eyes squinting a little in sleepiness. "I'll win again anyway."
"Not if I find him first." Lust bragged.
Belial nodded. "Understood. Set out tomorrow. I expect positive results." 'Such as your deaths.'
"We will not fail this time, my lord." Pride promised.
The supreme demon nodded, mind wondering. "We'll see."
When he felt the connection he cut off from Wrath growing and building fast. He knew he screwed up. So it was no brainer that he went back to the depths of hell with a chuckle and an amused glint in his eyes.
"I underestimated that little human sky again." He mused to himself as he went inside his own castle.
