hi guys! its been a minute, happy new year and all! Anyway I planned a few more chapters out for this fic. It just didn't feel right to rush the ending. nevertheless, enjoy my lovelies. please read & review!

There was a jarring moment of silence as Spiderman disappeared into the air vent, then—chaos. Deadpool surged forward with nearly inhuman speed, attempting to snag a red and blue boot to no avail. Simultaneously, Captain America and Black Widow encircled the mercenary with intent to assuage the situation.

Spiderman escaped.

In haste, Deadpool turned around to Captain America, swiveling his duel swords against the vibranium shield. Shiiink! Dissonance erupted into the static atmosphere, breaking the shock of Spiderman's disappearance.

"Deadpool, you are—" the American hero ducked to avoid the katana blades.

"—under arrest for trespassing into the Avenger's Tower—" Deadpool scrambled to pull out more weapons now calculating his circumstance. He was surrounded by three of the most physically powerful individuals in the hotdog state. This is going to be a walking cake in the park. Shit. Did I flip those? A parking in the cake walk? A piece of cake in the park? Eh, I'll figure them out later.

"—and interfering with SHEILD business. I order you to drop your weapons immediately." Captain America propelled his weight forward pushing Deadpool into the wall. The Merc landed with a grunt and proceeded to spurred a slur of curse words.

Iron Man held his gauntlet in aim of Deadpool. "Finally, some fun, booting the world's most psychotic idiot from my tower" The billionaire smirked in disdain at the erratic figure.

"OUR tower." Natasha gave Tony a scalding look as he returned her fire with a sheepish smile.

"Oh, come on guys! I thought we were friends; you know mutual want of the Spidey and all that jazz." The mercenary huffed as he lashed against Black Widow's frontward attack.

Black Widow eluded the katanas with ease and grace. The spy crouched to the floor to avoid the Merc's drawn pistol. "Is that the best you got?" She hissed in irritation shooting the red and black figure defiant sneer.

"No, not really cat-lady, but this is." Deadpool scarcely finished his words when he released a string of gun fire across the line of Avengers up, and across the ceiling. Laughing manically as they dodged the incoming bullet lines, the Merc sidestepped Iron Man's gauntlet fire and flung his body out the window. Glass scattered about the hallway as the remaining bullet riddled window creaked with instability.

"Leave him, he's a waste of our time. JARVIS, keep an eye on Deadpool and make sure he doesn't attempt to re-enter the tower." Tony paused to make eye contact with his team, both of which were strewn across the hallway after avoiding the gun fire.

Steve gave a slight nod from where he was crouched behind his shield, and Black Widow proceeded to pushed herself off the floor in displeasure.

Bruce's frantic voice flooded their coms, "Guys, is everybody alright? Deadpool's fire took out my visuals."

"Yeah, we're good Bruce." Steve confirmed.

"Any eyes on the target?" Natasha questioned in haste.

"No, not yet, I'm having JARVIS complete a perimeter scan of each floor. He will let us know when we get visuals back. Clint anything from your end?" The scientist's words were laced with concern.

"Negative." Clint's voice crackled into the coms. "I'll scope out my current floor. I suggest we complete a rapid floor by floor search upwards. If anything, Spiderman will be looking for elevation."

At the security control center, Bruce's eye flittered through the panel of live cameras throughout the tower. He sought out a familiar red and blue figure, hopefully most intact after Deadpool. He was still greatly opposed to how his team handled the situation, but understood the necessity of having Spiderman educated about SHEILD. It was their lives too now, whether they agreed to the conditions or not.

Nick Fury had been firm about his resolve on the Spiderman decision.

If the Avengers did not control the vigilante situation, he would, and he'd do it in the most transparent way possible. Bruce liked Spiderman—despite his faults—something all people had. He was about to pull his gaze to a separate screen, when he spotted a nimble figure exiting a ceiling vent. Spiderman dexterously landed at the top floor of the tower which led out to the balcony.

Bruce wasn't usually the type to rebel; he was a rule follower. He preferred to not stir up trouble or cause conflict, but stay true to the facts. He needed to be in full control of his actions and emotions every millisecond of the day.

Spiderman was young, his actions reflected panic and fear of the unknown—fairly reasonable considering circumstances. Rather than allowing Stark to confront the vigilante about SHIELD's compromise, despite his contrite nature towards his previous behavior, the scientist believed Spiderman would respond better to someone who had a semi-established connection over the last 24 hours. Guilt pooled in his stomach as he debated on what he was about to do.

"JARVIS, disable all elevators. I need to speak to Spiderman alone please."

"Dr. Banner, my statistics show this would not increase chances for a successful recapture of Spiderman. I advise against this course of action; I would also need to inform Mr. Stark about the change in protocol."

"Please JARVIS, I wholeheartedly believe this would better convince Spiderman we are on the same side. I just need a few minutes to get my point across to him before the others arrive. We owe it to him." Bruce pleaded with the AI. He was fairly certain there was at least some ethos capacity encoded within the system.

"I cannot override Mr. Stark's Emergency Protocol order." A monotone voice parroted Bruce's forefront assumption, but continued, "I will still alert Mr. Stark and others of Spiderman's location. Per your request, I will temporarily disable elevators. Mr. Banner, this allows you approximately four minutes and twenty-eight seconds to confront Spiderman alone, use it wisely."

Releasing a worried sigh, Bruce murmured thanks to JARVIS and proceeded up towards the vigilante's last location.

Various floor below, a handful of antsy Avengers started climbing stairs in order to get to the balcony. Tony Stark was baffled JARVIS decided at that very moment to disable the elevators for the "greater good" of the mission. He seriously needed to recode and update his AIs security system.

Steve and Natasha hustled up the steps two-fold, Clint followed at a slower pace while muttering profanities under his breath—something about robot world domination. Tony on the other hand attempted to open the elevator with his Iron Man suit while berating JARVIS' lack of protocol.

At the edge of the balcony, Bruce fixed his gaze on the spot where he last laid eyes on Spiderman. He cautiously peered over to see a fleeting glance of the figure disappearing around an adjacent building corner.

The scientist prayed his warning message on behalf of the Avengers was enough to convince the kid to come back to the tower. He knew he had no right to ask for Spiderman's trust after the team's reckless behavior—after his actions as an accomplice to the entire endeavor.

The silence was broken by a conglomeration of footsteps echoing closer to the balcony edge.

"Bruce," Natasha asked between pants of exertion, "where is he?" She looked around in exasperation.

Clint and Steve followed swiftly both turning to Bruce seeking an answer.

"He left." Bruce started to explain, "I was—"

Tony appeared in full Iron Man suit from the elevator shaft, "You let him LEAVE? Why on Earth would you do that!?" He opened his face plate to the scientist who shifted uncomfortably from the heat in his glare.

"We have spent so many weeks invested in obtaining information from the stupid kid, and when we finally have him in our hands, physically here at the tower, you just let him leave? Bruce what the hell were you thinking? Do you know what SHEILD would do if they get their hands on him?" Tony's anger was not unfounded, but a tad harsh in tone.

Clint stood up in defense against Stark's logic, "Well technically, Deadpool was the main reason Spiderman was able to escape the containment room, not Bruce."

Steve cleared his throat after catching his breath, "Tony, let Bruce explain himself. If we turn against each other now, SHIELD will make Spiderman their objective and we don't want that. Bruce, go ahead."

Shuffling his feet and pushing his glasses back up his nose, the scientist began cautiously with his reasoning.

"Well, we know Spiderman is an eighteen-year-old vigilante, unexperienced and ignorant of the SHEILD regulations—this is good and bad. He hasn't technically been of age to be tried as an adult, the presumption we'd previously made, and so I've told him to come back to the Avenger's Tower this week for a briefing and to possibly train with the team. He has been informed of the Accords, and how he is breaking the law by continuing his vigilantism." He briefly stopped to make sure all faces agreed with his words before continuing.

"In addition, from what I gather with our brief interaction earlier this morning, the kid was panicked at the situation—plus Deadpool certain threw us all in for a loop. Spiderman had no knowledge that what he was doing was wrong and our coordinated attack did nothing but sever his trust for us. I don't think a repeat of the confrontation from last night would have convinced the boy to stay or otherwise." An awkward silence damped the early afternoon.

Tony was the first to speak up. "Fine. But if he doesn't show up within a week, that's on you Bruce."

Meeting Tony's gaze, Bruce spoke softly, "I know."
