Ch3: Zangetsu's Night
It was night time when Lelouch got home after Nunnally has fallen asleep. He knows that he could make it up to his sister tomorrow for not telling her a bedtime story like he usually do...
It wasn't until he felt a cold metal at his throat after he entered the dining room. Lelouch knows it's the only one person who he trust the safety of his and his little sister's life.
"Sayoko." Lelouch greeted quietly.
The kunai knife slipped away from his throat and his assailant moved to regard him from the front. "You're home late." She noted simply. Sayoko Shinozaki was a beautiful woman with brown hair and dark amber eyes, wearing a maid outfit.
Lelouch shrugged, "Sorry for waking you, Sayoko."
Sayoko shakes her head. "It's not a problem, Lelouch-sama. Would you like something to eat?"
"Yes, I actually do want to eat something and I need someone to talk with." Lelouch answered.
After a few minutes, Sayoko brought meals for Lelouch who is waiting at the dining room table. Lelouch began to eating a little first before looking at Sayoko.
"Today, I got into the dangerous situation, Sayoko." Lelouch started. "I have to kill bunch of people today with my own hands."
Sayoko's face still has the calm expression as this conform Lelouch's nervous before asks another question.
"What made you do this way?" Sayoko asked.
"Because I saw Suzaku after many years… and they killed him just because he wouldn't go along with the order to kill me." Lelouch explains.
Sayoko just gives him a sad, supportive smile. She understands what it felt like to losing someone important to her. "It's must be tragedy to see someone you cared about being gone now." She said kindly.
Lelouch nodded.
"It wasn't long until I learns thing are escalated in Shinjuku, Sayoko. Its Clovis's doing." Lelouch explains to her about the massacred Clovis caused and he rounds up the rebels against the military. "When I enters the G1 base… I find out Clovis was a Rider and I had him killed."
"I see…" Sayoko didn't flinch as she still has her calm look on her face. She the only one person who knows Lelouch is Zangetsu.
"I know well that if Nunnally knows what I did to Clovis…" Lelouch said quietly. It's true if she finds out that he was doing this all for her, she might never forget him.
Rather to saying anything, Sayoko pulled Lelouch into a soft embrace. "I understand. So you're ready to go down this path, Lelouch-sama?"
Lelouch leans on Sayoko's shoulder, "I am ready. There is no going back from this. I will prove to the world that Britannia isn't undefeatable."
Sayoko have been the mother figure for Lelouch and Nunnally. She has been there for them since they had first come to stay with the Ashford, having firs worked as Milly's own personal maid. Of course, Milly had sent her to work for them not a work after the sibling had arrived.
"I will stand beside you, Lelouch-sama." Sayoko said.
Sayoko have been the one taught him how to fight due to his lack of physical resistance and helps him with researching into the fruits of Helheim. Lelouch knows Sayoko will protect Nunnally in his place after going down this path.
"I know… I'm truly grateful for everything you did for me and Nunnally," Lelouch said softly. He means it for everything she did for them.
"You're welcome, Lelouch-sama." Sayoko said.
(Next day)
After getting scold by Nunnally for stay late for poker games with nobles, Lelouch is resting on the table before a roll of paper smacked on his fore head by his childhood friend.
"Wake up! You were just asleep, weren't you? Your hands stopped!" Milly Ashford, the Student Council President exclaimed.
"Hah, serves you right for ditching me yesterday." Rivalz said with a grin.
"That's right, what was up with you anyway?" Shirley asked, glaring at Lelouch.
Lelouch looked at Rivalz and then Shirley before shook his head.
"Oh, I'm sorry about 'ditching' you, Rivalz." Lelouch said being sarcastic, "Instead of worry about the little old me, you should focused on her. I cannot believe you didn't tell us sooner that NONE of the budgeting was done, Milly." He glared at Milly.
"Or even a day later, so it would be too late to deal with this and we could give up." Rivalz offered, nervously, as he waved a pencil around.
"No more distractions! We gotta finish figuring out the budget for the year's club activities. We have to get this right." Milly announced.
Shirley began to speak up and said, "You know, it would be nice if you would have reminded us about this mess a day ago, Madam Pres."
"The Equestrian club will be pissed. We don't want them coming in here on the horseback." Rivalz chuckled, earning a rolled up newspaper to the head from Milly.
"Rivalz, can you take your student council duties a little more serious?"
"If that's the case we really should have started on this a few days ago." Lelouch said, looking over his stack of papers. "At this rate even your 'GUTS' spell won't do any good."
"Don't doubt in my power!" Milly chastised the former Prince. "With Guts, we can do anything!"
"Actually, it's got me going." Shirley argued.
Milly gave her a flirty look, "Supple and willing, that's what I like."
Shirley gave a look of pride, "I train hard in the gymnastic club." She proclaimed, flexing her arm.
Milly chuckled and respond, "That's not what I was getting at." She said before stares at Shirley's bust, "You're a ten."
"Huh?" Shirley gazed downwards and blushed immediately.
"From what I've seen in the girls' bathroom anyway, you've been filling out in all the right places, huh."
"Wh…What are you talking about, perv?!" Shirley exclaimed at the Madam President.
(Later)
Lelouch and others looks at the news. It was about the "poison gas" in Shinjuku. To Lelouch, however, it will be the first sight of his many actions as Zangetsu against the Britannia Empire. Later during the class Lelouch was daydream in his own world until…
"Kallen! It's been ages since we last saw you!" A female student remarked.
Lelouch quickly turns to saw Kallen with her hair down, mellow eyes, and spoke with a meek voice.
"Yeah, sorry about that but I really had to take care of my disease. But if I stay home too often then I'll never be able to catch up to you guys." Kallen replied.
Looks like I'm not the only one with a double life… Lelouch thought before Rivalz went up to him.
"Hey buddy, see something you like?" Rivalz notices Lelouch stares at Kallen.
"What can you tell me about her?" Lelouch asked.
Rivalz looks at the timid girl.
"Kallen Stadfield is an ace student but stay at home too much. She comes from the Stadfield family, a very rich and influential family. She is well-bred and rolling in the money. You do know how to pick a girl, huh?"
Lelouch shook his head.
"It's nothing like that, Rivalz." He said.
"Whatever you say, but she seems so sheltered."
If you mean by sheltered, you mean sheltered in a Knightmare then yes, I agree… Lelouch thought as he followed her all day to waiting for his opportunity to confront her.
His chance happened when a bee scared the girls away while Kallen stay outside. Kallen has this serious look on her face and smacked the bee dead. Lelouch decided to take this chance and approached her now.
"Dammit! I hate acting like this." Kallen complained before she notices Lelouch behind her.
Shit! He saw me! Kallen thought before going back into her composure back. "Is there something you need?" she asked quietly.
"I need answers!" Lelouch commanded as his Geass activated.
"Of course."
"Were you the pilot of the Glasgow in Shinjuku?" Lelouch started. He was ninety nine percent sure it was her, but one percent did not need to exist if he could eliminate it.
"I am." She replied with a small nod, eyes glazed over.
Nodded, Lelouch continued. "Why a Britannian like you resort to this?" Lelouch asked curious.
"Because I'm Japanese but technically I'm half Britannian." Kallen answered again.
Lelouch's eyebrow rose slightly. Half-blood Britannians were not exactly uncommon, but they were very rarely acknowledged or made Heirs to families, especially ones in prominent positions such as the Stadfield family.
"You must have a Japanese name then. What is it?"
"Kozuki."
"But why are you going so far?" Lelouch asked.
"I want to live as a Japanese person without Britannian oppression… and to avenge my brother, Naoto." Kallen response.
"What happened to him?" Lelouch asked.
"He was killed while escaping a Britannian facility with the information about the posion gas and we came too late as we only find his left arm while the rest of the body was missing. He managed to pass the information out of Britannia's control." Kallen explains emotionless.
"What happened to him?" Lelouch asked, fearing he knows the answered.
"Before he was killed, he warned us about being warn of an armor individual known as Baron…" This cause Lelouch to grit his teethes.
Clovis, you have done more harm than I anticipated… Lelouch thought angry. But Kallen no longer has a reason to fear Clovis now since he done the deed and get Baron's Driver out of Britannia's reach now.
He is looking for a potential user for Baron when he soon starts his revolution against Britannia which he vowed to himself.
"Very well then." He mumbled, deciding to erase her memory of their meeting entirely via command. If she felt sick act was compromised it could have unexpected result, possibly aggression.
"Forget any interactions between the two of us for the past five minutes." Lelouch said. He released his Geass, noticing that she'd begun blinking herself out of the stupor it had puts her up.
"Oh by the way, don't say anything about Shinjuku." This causes Kallen to look surprised.
"What about Shinjuku?" Kallen snarled angrily.
Huh? His Geass power doesn't work now? Does his power only work once per target? God damn it, he really needed to figure out how this ability work since it isn't like the Helheim fruits.
Lelouch was about to say something until Shirley called out to them.
"Hey Lulu! It's your turn to set up in the chem lab; you need to get to class!" Shirley said.
"I will be there!" Lelouch shouted, "I must have forgotten with all the commotion earlier!"
And he went off jogging fast enough that Kallen won't able to pursued him and blow her cover in front of Shirley.
He isn't an Olympic runner, but he has enough practices to outrun people if he find out he was pursued.
(Night)
Lelouch returned to his home, the Student Council Clubhouse. He was greeted by Nunnally and Sayoko. "Welcome home, brother."
"Welcome home, Lelouch-sama."
"Thank you, you two." Lelouch said.
It wasn't long until dinner starts as Lelouch and Nunnally were out of their uniforms and began eating dinner together.
"Sayoko was teaching me origami," Nunnally began. "I didn't think one could have a sheet of paper into so many things, like a bird or a boat. It can be anything!" Lelouch noticed some food on Nunnally's lip and wiped it off.
"You don't have to rush just tell me everything. I'm not going to leave you anytime soon." He said.
"Thank you, brother."
"You're welcome."
"Thank goodness. You seemed sort of tired last night." Nunnally said.
"Have I? I'm sorry it's just that I've got so many things on my mind." Lelouch answered.
Suddenly Nunnally got out an origami of a pink crane. "Look, brother. They say that if you fold a thousand of these, your wish will come true. If you have a wish, then…"
"Oh! I'm sorry, I don't." Lelouch answered. "But what about you, Nunnally? Is there something you want to wish for?" He asked to his little sister.
Nunnally thought about it for a few seconds before declaring one.
"I wish for the world to be a gentle and peaceful place." She answered with a smile.
"Maybe then you finally get your sight back, you'll see it. I'm definitely sure." Lelouch said.
"You mean it?" Nunnally asked.
"I promise." Lelouch said. But his thoughts ran through his head as he made it.
I've been given the powers to ensure there is a future for you and those I cared about, I will protect that world of yours, Nunnally… as the one Authorized by the Divine Providence
Nunnally grabbed Lelouch's hand and locked her pinkie with his. "Huh?" Lelouch looks confused.
"Sayoko taught me this the other day. Pinky promise!" Nunnally explains. "Cross my heart, hope to die, eat a thousand needles if I lie. Pinky promise song."
Lelouch blinks. "Well that's scary. I may have to eat a thousand needles someday."
Nunnally nodded.
"That's right." She exclaimed cheerfully. "So I better not catch you lying, okay Lelouch?"
Now Lelouch laughed, "Don't worry, I'll never lie, I swear."
'Not to you, anyway…' He mentally added.
Sometime later, Lelouch retired to his room after dinner with his little sister.
He sat on his chair and takes out the glass jar with the Helheim fruit within it.
Lelouch looks at the Helheim fruit in the glass jar.
He kept the strange fruit for studied after discovering the healing factor of the Helheim fruits and began to work on a way to using the healing factor to healed Nunnally's legs that Britannia doctors couldn't even healed.
He can't forget the day when he and Sayoko accomplished the impossible feat.
(Flashback)
Sayoko watches quietly as Lelouch helping his sibling up from the bed. They test the new medicine several times before using it on Nunnally's legs to heal them. Lelouch determines to help Nunnally being able to walk again.
Nunnally slowly puts her foot down firm on the floor and her other foot next as she standing on the floor.
"I-I can walk again…?" Nunnally asked in surprised.
"Yes, you are." Lelouch said, couldn't be happier.
"It's a miracle to see you being able to walk." Sayoko said.
Nunnally turns to her brother and trying to walk to him.
"Brother…?" Nunnally asked, trying to feel him.
Lelouch reach out his hands for his sister as she getting close to him. After his research, Lelouch could finally see Nunnally being able to walk again than being crippled.
She accidents stumble and was about to fall to the ground.
But Lelouch caught her in time before she falls to the ground.
"Don't worry, I got you." Lelouch said as he holds her in his arms.
Nunnally turns toward to her older brother.
"It looks like my legs aren't used to moving after using the wheelchair for so long, brother." Nunnally said.
"I know it won't be easy to walk again, but it will take more times and practices." Lelouch assured.
"I won't give up so easily, brother." Nunnally said.
"I know, Nunnally. That's something we share." Lelouch smiled.
"Do you think we should surprise Milly?" Lelouch asked.
Nunnally is in deep thinking.
"I suppose but I feel like we should keep this our little secret until I can see again." Nunnally said.
"Are you sure?"
"I want to give everyone the full package." Nunnally smiled.
"You're my little sister alright." Lelouch said, caress her hair.
"Brother..."
He then looks at Sayoko, "Sayoko, I count on you to keep this a surprise from Milly and her grandfather."
"Of course." Sayoko nodded.
(Present)
However, they can't fix Nunnally's sights… Lelouch thought serious, looking at the Helheim fruit quietly.
But the fruit is also a reminded to him as the source of destruction if power isn't used carefully...
Even if there is another way, I would have saved them… Lelouch thought as he shakes his head. After all, he can't forgive himself for what happens to on that day.
Lelouch sighed as he puts away the Helheim fruit as his computer suddenly has an alarmed system flashing in front of him. Lelouch soon hacked into the Ashford security system immediately and saw where problem is coming from.
It looks like I can't sleep now since there are works to be done… Lelouch thought as he gets out his jacket and leaving the room immediately.
(Next day)
Lelouch spent the morning trying to learn everything about his Geass and so far it can only be used once. He also decides to build a Sengoku Driver for Sayoko if she has to go out any eliminated any Inves threats from appearing in Ashford Academy while he was doing his own business. It didn't take him long since he has been studied the functions of his Driver for years and build some prototypes but the materials aren't cheap.
Later, he went up to Kallen.
"Hey Kallen, can I speak with you for a few minutes?" Lelouch asked.
Kallen nodded.
"Great, I was wondering what you would ask." Lelouch brought Kallen to the Student Council clubhouse. "I didn't think there was anything like this at school."
"It's the student council clubhouse; it has been used as a ballroom for several occasions." Lelouch explained.
"So we won't be bothered here, right?" Kallen asked.
"No." But they were soon interrupted by the rest of the student council, Milly came in with a cart filled with food and others helping Nina finding something. "Milly, what is all this?"
"Isn't this why you brought her here? We're inducting Kallen to the student council." This caught the two by surprise.
"Where did you get that idea?" Lelouch asked.
"Grandfather."
"The principle?" Milly nodded.
"Considering Kallen's health conditions, she can't really be able to join normal club activities. I'm Milly Ashford, president of the student council!" Milly announced.
"Uhh… pleasure to meet you." Kallen said.
"I'm Rivalz, the secretary, if there's anything you need I'm your man." Rivalz started.
I'd like one Japan, without the Britannians, if you please… Kallen thought dryly as she nodded back.
"I'm Shirley and I'm also a member of the swim team. Welcome!" Shirley said.
"I'm Nina."
"It's nice to meet you all." Just then Nunnally appeared in her wheelchair holding a couple boxes of pizzas and a tray of cupcakes.
"Nunnally, what are you doing here?" Lelouch asked. Kallen seemed surprised at the sight of the blind and crippled girl.
"This is Lelouch's little sister." Milly said.
"I'm in my second year in middle school, so I'm not on the council." Nunnally said.
"Who cares! The more the merrier!"
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Kallen." Nunnally said with a smile in which Kallen returned one as well.
"Thanks. You too." Kallen replied.
"Alright guys, shall we kick this induction off with a toast?" Rivalz pulled out a bottle of champagne but the rest of the student council was surprised.
"Champagne?" Shirley asked, examining the bottle.
"But we shouldn't drink it." Nina said with worried.
"Aw c'mon guys, loosen up, will ya?" As Rivalz tried to get the cork off, Shirley tried to get the bottle away. Rivalz was making sure the bottle didn't get to her and make a quick move.
"Lelouch, catch!" Lelouch caught it and Shirley went up to him.
"You're too young to drink!" Shirley pinned Lelouch down and the cork launched and the champagne itself landed on Kallen's head.
Kallen was in the shower room while waiting for someone fetched her new pair of clothes. She soon heard a knocked on the door.
"I'm sorry about this. They can be little like this… sometimes." Lelouch apologized from the door.
"Come in, I already have the curtain on." Kallen said.
Lelouch came in and tries to ignore Kallen's silhouette from the curtain.
"It's alright after all, everyone cuts loose now and again." Kallen said while she personally disliked the event.
"Right…" Lelouch agreed, chuckling lightly, "Oh, I brought you some of my clothes to wear for now… Milly's and Shirley's are too big and Nina…"
"It's alright." Kallen assured him, honestly not that concerned, as she'd worn her brother's clothes on more than one occasion. "That was fast, you went all the way to the boy's dorm?"
"Actually, I live here." Lelouch informed her, "It'd be pretty for my sister to live off in the dorms, the principle of the school lets us stay here as a favor."
"I see…" Kallen muttered. "Can you hand me that pouch over there real quickly?" she asked.
"Sure…" Lelouch grabbed the pouch and gave it to her. When he did, Kallen grabbed his hand really tight with the pouch. "This is a surprise…"
"Were you Zangetsu in Shinjuku?" Kallen asked strictly.
"Zangetsu? What kind of name is that? And what does this have to do with Shinjuku?"
"Don't play dumb with me. You brought up Shinjuku yesterday but why?"
"What's wrong with asking something about Shinjuku?" Lelouch asked.
"Just say yes or no… that's all I'm asking." Kallen said as she pressed the button on the pouch that revealed a concealed knife.
Then the phone starts ringing interrupted the staring contest between the two, who started at the ringing, Lelouch turns toward it, only to halt as Kallen tightened her grip, holding him in place.
"If I don't answer it, someone will come in." Lelouch informed.
Lelouch uses his free hand to bringing the wall phone to his ear, "Hello? Ashford Academy Student Council…" he frowned, "No, this is…oh…"
Kallen scowled, only to blink as Lelouch held the phone to her through the curtain, "It's for you." Lelouch said, "He says he knows you."
Could it be Ohgi? The redhead wondered, cursing the rebel's timing, wondering what the hell he was doing calling on a public line as she set the blade aside and accepted the phone from Lelouch's offered hand, "Hello?"
"Glad to see you're alive, Q1." Kallen's eyes widened at the voice.
Was I wrong in thinking its Lelouch? Kallen thought in shocked as the raven hair teen still in the bathroom with her.
Lelouch glad that he given Sayoko the plan this morning and he glad the ninja-maid came through for him or he will be forced to blown his covered.
"Sixteen hundred hours tomorrow, come to Tokyo Tower observation platform…alone." The voice said before hanging up.
"Who are you?!" Kallen demands, she glares at the phone. "How did you arrange that cease fire?! How the hell do you know where I am?!"
"Cease fire?" Lelouch asked curious, turning his head slightly in a bid to feign respect for the redhair's nudity, Kallen has thrown the curtain wide as the phone call ended.
"Huh?" Kallen almost forgot that Lelouch was next to her.
"It sounds like you into online games, Miss Stadfield?" Lelouch asked.
"Huh? Oh! Y-yeah…" Kallen stammered.
"You're talking about some interesting games, right?" Lelouch asked.
"Uh yeah, you caught me. Mr. Lamperouge." Kallen said, taking advantage of this and letting go of Lelouch's wrist. "I'm really bored when I spend most of the day at my house."
"That's why I brought up Shinjuku so you would know what's actually going on. There are people who can deceive you about it. Also you know I can see your whole body, right?" Lelouch asked.
Kallen blinked, gazing down to find that she'd pulled the curtain a little TOO far, and even standing with her back to Lelouch, she was standing in plain side.
"Well, I will be going now." Lelouch suggested, turning on his heel and walking towards the door, only for the doorway, "I promised that I won't tell anyone about this."
Lelouch walks out like nothing has happened while Kallen's face turns instantly red and trying to cover herself up.
She blushed as she silently raged at the snobbish vice-president and wishing she had stabbed him.
"I was wrong." She cursed herself.
After Kallen has changed, they returned to the ballroom as Lelouch explaining to Kallen what duties and jobs she should and would be expected to perform; they saw others watching the news.
"Brother, it is awful!" Nunnally cried as the two returned to the ballroom, the sound of the news on in the background.
"What is it?" Lelouch asked, sincerely worried about anything when it comes to his sister.
It was Milly that responded as the normal cheer that filled her voice is gone. "Prince Clovis has been found dead."
"They're saying that he was killed." Rivalz continued.
On the screen was Jeremiah Margrave, leader of the Pureblood fraction, was saying just how dreadful it was that Clovis was murdered. Then a female broadcaster went on. "We gave confirmation that the killer has been captured. The killer carried away by guards has caused Lelouch to look shocked.
No way… He survived, Lelouch thought.
Suzaku is alive but greatly injured.
"Honorary Britannian and Britannian soldier, Suzaku Kururugi."
For the whole broadcast, Lelouch has an aggravated look on his face and was grasping the Melon Lockseed in his pocket.
I will save you in returning the favor, Lelouch vowed silent.
Later at night, Lelouch was tucking Nunnally into bed. She knew Suzaku was on the news and was really worried about him. "Big brother?"
"Hm?"
"Suzaku would never do that, right?" Nunnally asked with worried.
"Over course he wouldn't. We both know he's better than that. I'm sure this is just a misunderstanding." Lelouch said, held Nunnally's hand.
"That's right." Lelouch hesitantly let go and placed the blanket over her.
"Goodnight, Nunnally." Lelouch said.
Kallen and a few of the other resistance fighters went to the Tokyo Tower observation deck, of course not together. "Kallen Stadfield of Ashford Academy, your personal effects have been delivered. Please come to the service counter to retrieve them. I repeat…"
A few minutes later, Kallen received a cell phone and in only a few minutes she got a call from Zangetsu. She immediately answered it with others in hearing distance. "Zangetsu?"
"It's me." Lelouch said while leaving the tower. He was wearing something Sayoko recommend if he wasn't in his transform form. "Get on the monorail loop line. You may bring whoever you want."
It wasn't long until Kallen and others arrives on the monorail as they were waiting for the call and soon they heard the ring. "Hello?"
"Looks to the right of the window. Tell me, what do you see?"
"The city of Britannia, a haven of scumbags built on our sacrifice."
"Good. And on the left." Kallen turned to see the remains of a city.
"Our city, what left of the ruins of a city that Britannia destroyed." Kallen answered.
"Another great answer. Now come to the leading car… I'm looking forward to seeing you and your comrades." Kallen's eyes widened just as Zangetsu hung up.
"He's here…" Kallen said.
Kallen moved to the leading car with Ohgi and the others just behind. When they got to the car except there was no one except a green hooded man with jinbaori like robes and black pants, and combat boots.
"Are you Zangetsu!? The same one at Shinjuku!?" The man turned and just as he turned the light went dark so she and others wouldn't see into his hood.
"I am. I apologize but there are reasons why I chose to hide my face. But, enough about that… allow me to introduce myself… " The hooded man said. This got them confused and surprised when he placed his Sengoku Driver on his waist which then formed a belt. He took out the Melon Lockseed from his pocket. He pressed on its button.
"MELON!"
Suddenly Kallen and others saw a metallic melon appeared on his head from the zipper portal.
He tossed into the air before caught and places in his Driver before locking it on. He then activates his Cutting Blade.
"Henshin!"
"SOIYA!"
The Melon Arms soon descend on his head and morphed into his white suit.
"MELON ARMS! TENKA GOMEN!"
The others became shocked while a Japanese horn playing in the background and the Melon Arms begins to form armor. When the light went back on, they got a good look at him now to say that they were surprised was monumental understatement.
"Kamen Rider Zangetsu, the one authority by the Divine Providence." Zangetsu introduced himself while the group was completely shock but Kallen stares intensely at him.
Could he be same as the one who killed my brother? Kallen thought.
Ohgi then approached him slowly. "So, the only reason you hide your face is because of that power?" Zangetsu nodded.
"There are something that Britannia should never lied their hands from me, it could causes endless chaos with powers they couldn't understand." Others were thinking of a worst case scenario while Zangetsu placed them back in reality. "But, that's for another time, we have more important things to discuss, am I correct?"
Ohgi nodded and slowly went forward.
"We have a beef with Britannia. A big one, so we fight back." Zangetsu shook his head.
"Britannia will not fall due to terrorist attacks."
"Fall?"
"Terrorism is nothing more than child's play to them." The other rebels would like to protest about that but after seeing his transformation; it will best to keep quiet. "Don't fool your true enemy are not the people but the empire's harsh rule: the strong devoured the weak. To truly fight an empire, the only solution is war. Fight for justice! The day… when Britannia will have their final judgment." Kallen then went up to him and ask.
"Were you the one who killed Clovis?" Zangetsu brought up the Musou Saber.
"There are advantages to my power such as getting him to order a ceasefire." Zangetsu answered. "And the fact, I save you guys from being annihilated by the new Knightmare. Remember?"
This causes them to jaw dropped immediately as they remembered hearing a massive explosion in Shinjuku while they were…
"That was YOU?!" Kallen asked in shocked as she and others were shocked that Zangetsu defeats the new Knightmare and penetrate a G1 Command Base by himself.
"We may have different methods but our goals are the same."
"But, you killed Clovis afterward, didn't you?" Ohgi asked.
"With my blade, but also Clovis got something I want to prevent from falling into Britannia's hand and I killed him for it." Zangetsu explains as he sliced a nearby couch nearby. "With his death, it let Britannia know that someone challenged their belief."
"What about Kururugi, did you set him up?" Zangetsu shook his head.
"That was the doing of the leader of Pureblood faction. No doubt he would use this scapegoat as a mean to end especially the 'Honorary Britannian' system." The resistances soon catch on what the White Rider says.
"But if that happens…" Kallen and the others stood shocked at the worst case scenario.
"Any Japanese who was fortunate to earn the right will be forcibly torn and will have to resort to living in the slum or executed for even TRYING to be an equal of a citizen of Britannia." Zangetsu continued as he stares at Kallen and her group behind his visor.
"Hey, boss." One of the rebels whispered to Ohgi. "What do you think? He's legit?"
"Given what happened here, I have hard time doubting you. We might be thankful to you for helping out last time, but we still can't trust you yet." Ohgi said.
"What kind of leader would you be if you trust me too fast? After all, we still strangers to each other." Zangetsu acknowledged and respected Ohgi's reasoning before he answered.
"However, if you want more proof, then let me show you the power… of a Kamen Rider." Zangetsu said with serious.
During the night, the Purebloods were parading through the street while escorting Suzaku towards his execution. This was humiliating enough, but they also kept accidentally on purpose dropping him on the floor every so often, which got sore after a while.
But they stopped as soon as they saw the car used by Prince Clovis heading towards them. Kallen was driving it. But she felt extreme nervous about this plan of his.
They're unsure about what Zangetsu's own plan for this.
"You're sure this will work?" Kallen asked.
"Of course." Zangetsu replied. "As long as you and Ohgi do your jobs, then we'll be ok."
Meanwhile Ohgi is watching the parade nearby on his Knightmare as he waits for Zangetsu's plan to work.
"But… the container-" Kallen hesitant, when Zangetsu shows them the old canister that they stole from Britannia and shocked he is using it.
Zangetsu sighed and explain, "Is nothing more than colored smoke. I already told Ohgi that I destroyed the poison gas. There is nothing to worry about. Once, we retrieve Kururugi, you and Ohgi will proceed to the rendezvous point."
"What about you?" Kallen asked confused.
"I'll distract the Knightmares and most of the security as best I can." Zangetsu responses calm. This causes them to look entirely shocked.
"How?"
"Let me worry about that." The white rider replied.
Kewell moved his Knightmare a little closer to the vehicle. "How dare you desecrate his Highness' transport?! Come out at once!" The Britannian flag on the vehicle burned up revealing a white armor samurai with a green shield.
"I am Kamen Rider Zangetsu." The cameras zoomed in and everyone around was surprised at the sight of the Kamen Rider.
(With Nunnally)
Nunnally and Sayoko were watching the news about Suzaku's execution. Nunnally was praying for hope that Suzaku be spared before Zangetsu's appearance.
"Zangetsu…?" Nunnally asked in confusion.
Sayoko has a calm look on her face while she watches Zangetsu's appearance.
I hope for your success, Lelouch-sama… Sayoko thought serious.
(The Student Council)
Milly drops her mouth immediately after watching the execution with Rivalz and Shirley.
"I-I-It can't be…" Milly Ashford gasped immediately when she saw Zangetsu. She felt like that she is seeing a ghost from the past.
"What is wrong?" Rivalz asked, never seen her acting shocked.
"Madam Presid?" Shirley asked curious.
The blonde bombshell couldn't believe her eyes as she spotted her mystery savior again after countless pursued toward him. The mystery white armored samurai saved the young Ashford from the strange monsters as this result capturing the young girl's heart.
"He is the one who saved me that day…" Milly muttered.
Now he is on the television.
Jeremiah looked at him unimpressed and said, "Alright, Zangetsu. Your show is over."
He shot his pistol in the air and four Sutherlands dropped from their VTOLs and surrounding the car. "Now, take off your helmet."
Zangetsu looked like he was about to until he steps on the roof of the truck. It opened and revealed a familiar container.
"What?" Jeremiah and other Purists gasped. The civilians didn't know what it was, but that was the container of posion gas the military has been ordered to find.
You never saw the contents of this container, so you think it's full of posion gas… Zangetsu thought smirking behind his helmet.
Unseen by everyone around, whose focus was on Zangetsu and the capsule, Suzaku tried to warn the people that it was a fake but the collar around his neck jolted him with a painful burst of electricity as his vocal chords move.
Damn it! Jeremiah thought serious. He managed to take every Britannian here hostage and they don't even know about it!
Jeremiah pointed his pistol and looks at Zangetsu.
"Trying to shoot me? Very well, just try it." Jeremiah shot his pistol as the bullet came closer to Zangetsu, but the white Rider quickly pulled out his Musou Saber and sliced it in half. "Good shot, but I doubted the next one will reach me."
Jeremiah grits his teethes before lowering his gun and asked a question about what he wants.
"What is it you want?"
"I wish to trade," Zangetsu stated. "This capsule for Suzaku Kururugi."
"Impossible!" Jeremiah declared. "This man killed his Highness Prince Clovis! I cannot simply hand him over to anyone!"
"But you got the wrong person." Zangetsu said.
"How would you know that?"
"Clovis was found with a stabbed wound in his head. Wouldn't looks like this?" Zangetsu said, bring up his Musou Saber.
"You mean-?" Jeremiah looks shocked before noticing Zangetsu's Driver. It's almost similar to Prince Clovis's belt and he connecting the dots. "It was you?!"
"I am the one who killed the despicable Prince Clovis." Zangetsu declared. Everyone was shocked except Diethard Reid, the head reporter of the news channel.
He has finally finds something interesting for a story.
I want to see more from you… Diethard thought as he moved the camera closer on Zangetsu.
But Zangetsu isn't finished yet. "In exchange for a single Eleven, you can save the lives of hundreds of Britannians."
"Why bother with this trade when I can execute you where you stand!" Jeremiah got his gun ready to fire at Zangetsu, but the white Rider immediately disappeared from the top of vehicle. This causes shocked to everyone before the legs of Sutherlands were cuts off immediately as Zangetsu reemerged on the ground with his Musou Saber.
This cause everyone who was watching as they were completed shocked by Zangetsu's lighting speed...
"Now you will handle him over… Orange," Zangetsu said cold.
"What did you call me?!" Jeremiah exclaimed.
Zangetsu soon got out the detonator in his hand, "If you won't let us have him, it will go public. Everyone will know the truth about you, Orange."
Jeremiah has no choice but to responds.
"Let… Kururugi go." Villetta and others were shocked.
"Lord Jeremiah, you're not considering-"
"He has the container and downed my Sutherland with a sword. What else does he have up his sleeve? Beside once the exchange is over, then we'll get him." Jeremiah explains to his fellow Pureblood factors.
Suzaku was soon untied and walked toward Zangetsu.
Zangetsu removed the collar.
"Who are you?" He asked weakly. But Zangetsu didn't reply until Kallen approach them.
"Zangetsu, it's time to go." Kallen said.
"Right, take care of him." Kallen grabbed Suzaku's arm and Zangetsu pressed the button. The container opened pink gas and everyone ran away.
Suzaku looks shock at this before he and Kallen jumped off the bridge where Ohgi's Knightmare launched a net which caught the two.
Zangetsu looks at the Pureblood factions and didn't response. Kewell looked at him.
"For Clovis." As the Sutherland fired at him and Zangetsu dodges the bullets immediately. He soon activates his Cutting Blade once.
"SOIYA! MELON SQUASH!"
Zangetsu throws his Melon Defender at the Sutherland's head and soon decapitated the head immediately.
Villetta charged next at Zangetsu in her Knightmare.
"Damn you!" She cursed angrily.
Zangetsu took out his Melon Lockseed and inserts to his Musou Saber's slot.
"LOCK ON!"
"It ends here." Zangetsu said as a green aura began to emerge over his sword.
"1, 10, 100!" The Musou Saber counted off.
Zangetsu charge forward at the Knightmares before jumping on the first one and stabbed the waist of the first Knightmare.
"MELON CHARGE!"
The Sutherland's waist starts to creak with energy and the cockpit is forced to eject before the Sutherland exploded. Zangetsu soon spend the minutes in order to disabling any Sutherlands he still see around.
"Zangetsu," Zangetsu turns around and saw Sagara who came out of nowhere.
"What are you doing here?" Zangetsu questioned slight curious.
"Here. You will need to get out of here." Sagara throws something to Zangetsu.
Zangetsu caught it and looks like a new Lockseed. But this one has white sakura petals with the code LV-01.
"Could this be…?" The white Rider clicks on the Lockseed and throw it into the air as it become a motorcycle immediately. He looks back at Sagara.
"Well, you're older enough now to ride a motorcycle." Sagara said.
"Very funny…" Zangetsu sarcastic said before getting on the Sakura Hurricane. He turns to see Sagara have disappeared to who knows where.
Zangetsu starts the bike and left. When reinforcements came and the smoke faded away, Zangetsu was already gone.
Zangetsu has arrived at the rendezvous point where he was greeted by the resistance members in an old abandoned theater on the edge of the ghetto. Kallen and others waited in the lobby as Zangetsu took Suzaku to the main theater room.
"How are you feeling, Private Kururugi?" Zangetsu asked. He was standing atop a pile of rubble that evidently originated from the hole in the ceiling above him.
Suzaku stood at the base of the pile, rubbing his neck where the shock once rested.
"I'm… fine." Suzaku replied tersely. The former Japanese looked at Zangetsu through narrowed eyes and asked, "Did you really kill Clovis?"
"This is war," Zangetsu replied evenly. "Why wouldn't I kill an enemy commander?"
"War?" Suzaku asked with disbelief, "What war? Japan was defeated in the Second Pacific War! Britannia won, we lost! Why can't you people understand that?!"
"You still naïve, aren't you?" Zangetsu asked rhetorically, "True, Japan is no more and the government falls. But, as long as there are those who still dream of a Japan free of the rule of Britannia, Japan still lives in the souls of those who never given up."
Zangetsu regarded Suzaku with a thoughtful air.
"It was the reason why I help them in battle of Shinjuku to prevent the massacred from continued." He answered. This causes alarmed look on Suzaku's face.
"What?!" Suzaku exclaimed. "That was you who throws those bombs at me?!"
"Wait, what?!" Zangetsu asked, looking at back at him.
"You're no mere terrorist! How can you think about involving so many innocent life like that?!" Zangetsu frozen as he knows what Suzaku is talking about.
Suzaku is the pilot for that monster white Knightmare?! What the hell have you been doing this past seven years, idiot?! Zangetsu thought in shocked.
"Dishonorable?!" Zangetsu parroted, "Private Kururugi, are you really a soldier?!"
"I am!" Suzaku replied, feeling offended.
They were unaware that Kallen and others overheard the bickers. There were shocked on their faces by what they learned.
"No way…" Ohgi muttered.
"He plots that white Knightframe…" Kallen said with disbelief.
"That little traitor… he was the one become their pet and attacked us…" Tamaki growls with angry. He wants to go and punished Suzaku, but Ohgi holds him back.
"What give, Ohgi?" Tamaki asked.
"We agree to let him deal with this." Ohgi said. He won't back down from his word with Zangetsu after seeing his power.
They could only watches as the two continued debates about Britannia's rule systems.
"I can change from the inside if I rise high enough!" Suzaku said.
"You're an idiot!" Zangetsu barked.
"A friend of mine used to call me that a lot. But the rules are meant to be followed. Regardless, thank you for saving me."
"Fool." Zangetsu looks coldly at his childhood best friend and said, "I see now that you are far too much coward to see the reality of this world to really do what to save lives. Go then, Kururugi. Do what you feel is right, but remember this: When your ideals betray you and there is no place in there world left for you, seek me out. Seek me out so we can save not only Japan, but the whole world."
Suzaku nodded curtly before he leaves in silence. Suddenly Zangetsu hears footsteps and saw Sagara.
"I see he declined your offer." Sagara said.
"No he didn't." Zangetsu replied, looking at the nomadic man. "I was hope he see Britannia the same way I did. But I wonder what the hell happens to him when my sister and I left?"
Sagara crossed his arms and sighed, "Who knows? But if you continued tries to reach out for him, you should investigate his father."
"Huh? His father?" Zangetsu suddenly look confused. What does Suzaku's father have involved in this matter?
"What does-?" Zangetsu looks around and saw Sagara has disappeared again.
Zangetsu sighed as he takes a last look at Britannia and left to meets up with the Resistances.
"I will demolish Britannia's rule of sacrifice and find out what really happens to you, Suzaku…" Zangetsu vowed quietly to himself.
AN: What do you think? It looks like Lelouch isn't just focused on destroying Britannia but given Nunnally a normal life. It looks like Lelouch might go looking into Suzaku's life and trying to find out what happens to him... If you notice some parts of the fics are based on other Code Geass fic.
