Ch11: Narita Hiking! Berserker Invasions!
Tired, violet eyes open as Lelouch getting up from his bed. He has quite busy days after getting Ayano enrolled into Ashford Academy and deal with Idunn.
He wasn't surprised when Rivalz told him that Shirley didn't remember who gives her the Driver and Ringo Lockseed as the culprit try to cover his track.
Speaking of Shirley, she promised not to talk about it. But she and Lelouch haven't talk with each other for a while. Though Rivalz promised to look after her made Lelouch feel sort of relief that his best friend will help her. Maybe he could put Rivalz and Shirley together even though it a weird idea.
Though he was surprised to hear from Kallen that Rai becomes Yami Gaim and they encounter with the Rider that killed Ayano's friends. But he could swear that they aren't tell him something for some reason.
But it might be something related to Rai's Rider power… Lelouch thought before he gone to his working table.
On the table, there is a new Sengoku Driver along with a Lockseed that have a picture of blueberry.
Suddenly the door opens to reveal Ayano in her school uniform. "Hey Lelouch, it's time-" Before her eyes lie on the thing on the table.
"Is that…?" Lelouch nodded before Ayano take them into her hands.
"It make a few days to adjust things but I look for something that would suit you, Ayano." Lelouch said with a smile.
"Thank you, Lelouch." Ayano said. "Anyway, I came here since Sayoko start making breakfast and Nunna-chan ask me to get you." She added.
"We can't keep her waiting for us." Lelouch said in agreement.
(Cue X.U by Sawano Hiroyuki)
(Instrumental) The screen opens up to show Lelouch and Zangetsu back-to-back as light covered the screen before changing to show Kallen, Suzaku, Orpheus, Rai, Euphemia and Nunnally before the screen was covered with vines and purple fruits.
(I don't want nobody to get killed) Lelouch was sitting on his Lancelot Club with his hands supporting his chin as rain heavily cascaded around him
(I'll come and get, I am always ready to fight) The screen changed to show Zangetsu sinking into a lake while another screen shows Ayano with a hand over her chest.
(Instrumental) Lockseeds appeared before they were seen scattering across the world.
(So don't take all of the blame) The scene showed the Black Knights in their headquarters.
(We're all as bad) The Britannian Military came into focus.
(Ah wait, don't take all of it away) Now different factions from across Earth flashed by.
(You always do) Armored figures showed up in the darkness, the only lights being their visors.
(We'll always be something you cannot control) In the shadows, a flame-shaped head was flanked by two Riders with unique bows.
(We will overcome – Your salvation has begun) Deep in the forest of Helheim, a white creature wielding a Zanbato was leading an army of Inves.
(No suns, no lights) Lelouch was looking to the side before changing to Ayano doing the same thing.
(Such a mess all over) The screen changed to show Lelouch and Ayano holding their hands out to each other.
(Don't kill your hopes) Now CC was standing on an embedded Musou Saber as wind blew through her hair and clothes.
(You make me realize who I need) The screen changes to show Lelouch looking up with a determined glare before he is encased in his Zangetsu armor.
(I'll be there, hold on) Zangetsu charged forward slashing the Shika Inves with his sword
(But it changes somehow) Ryugen fired at Inves and Britannian soldiers alike.
(So where are you now) Zangetsu and Ryugen jumped into the air and performed their Rider Kicks.
(I'll reach you, my darling) Baron pierced an Inves with the Banaspear before cutting two more in half.
(The shadows of the earth) Gaim slashed an Inves with his dual blades before combining both in a wide, area-clearing sweep.
(Illusions so bright) Baron and Gaim charged into a mixed army of Britannia soldiers and Inves.
(They're falling just to run – let them know-) Now the Riders watched as both the Black Knights and Britannia launched all-out Knightmare Frame attacks
(When it's the pain that makes us so human after all) Leila was watching the battle as the rest of her force joins in the battle.
(Toward city, a border patrol) Lelouch kept walking alone in the city, strange plants growing behind his trail.
(1000 precious words, just to start with a spark) The camera turned to Zangetsu and others helping each other fighting the Inves before Zangetsu charged forward and clashed with the white figure swords-first, sparks blinding the screen for a bit.
(To the core) Soon Zangetsu, Baron, Ryugen, and Gaim appeared as the title page appeared.
(Warehouse)
Lelouch began showing the rest of the Black Knights the new equipment that they received from Kyoto and to say that they were surprised was an understatement.
They were all looking around with huge eyes and opened mouths. The Resistance in Kyoto had sent over several customized Burai units, the modified Glasgow adding to the Black Knight's existing unit of pilfered Sutherlands. Some even started calling dibs on some of the Knightmare. Of course there were restrictions.
When they saw the Club, Lelouch told them that this Knightmares was stolen out of Britannian hands and cleaned off all tracking devices.
"I have to admit that is quite an impressive Knightmare." Kallen comment.
"Why thank you, Kallen Kozuki." Club said. This causes Kallen and others' eyes wide in shocked.
"D-Did that Knightmare just talk?" Ohgi asked to Lelouch.
"Of course." Lelouch answered. "The Club is actually sentinel."
"Ehhhh!?" Tamaki exclaimed. "A sentinel Knightmare!?"
"He is right, you're loud mouth…" Club said. "Maybe this is why you still single."
"Whoa… he just take the words out of my mouth." Kallen said. This cause others to chuckle immediately.
"That take back!" Tamaki barked at Club.
Kallen soon focused on the red, silver, and gold Knightmare standing before her.
"The Guren MKII…" she wonder, looking over the tall, aptly named frame, which was the first original Japanese Knightmare to ever be produced. Just going over the manual for it had been breathtaking, the whole thing was completely different from the Britannian Frames she'd piloted before.
"I can hardly believe that the others are treating this like a party. Kyoto is backing multiple resistance groups, correct?" Lelouch asked as he stepped out of the shadow.
"Well, yeah…" Kallen agreed. "But the fact that we ARE receiving aid from them means that we're…"
"At the starting line." Lelouch cut in, the masked revolutionary walking up beside her and standing before the Guren, looking up at the crimson mech. "This is all an elaborate test, Kallen, Kyoto wishes to our resolve for themselves."
"So what if it is? It's still incredible." Kallen answered.
"You're an optimist." Lelouch then tossed her the key for the Guren.
"What's this?"
"The Guren MK 2 is yours now, Kallen." Lelouch said.
This made the redhead looks surprised at Lelouch. "Mine!? But we have a lot more people now and we can't afford to lose you. The Guren should be your-"
"You're the best pilot that we've got. I'm a commander. I'll take my Club, it's just as good as good as your Guren. Besides like most of us Riders, you have a personal reason to fight." Lelouch said.
"But I am a Rider, how can I balanced out on being one and pilot a Knightmare?" Kallen asked to the hooded leader. Being a Rider is okay, but balancing it out with pilot a Knightmare is going to be a problem.
"Don't worry…" Lelouch said. "I came up with something that will helped with the situation."
"What is it?" Kallen asked, raised an eyebrow.
"Let's just say that the time you transform when using the Guren, you will be in for a surprise." Lelouch answered.
"Speak in riddle as usually…" Kallen said before looking at the Guren. "But I won't mind challenged your Club with the Guren." She said with a smirk.
"Hey Zangetsu!" Lelouch turn around to see Ohgi and Orpheus coming toward him.
"We have some Intel that you might want to see. There's a Britannian who wants to join our ranks." Ohgi said.
"This does seem like interesting information but this is a little too risky to trust this guy. For all we know this could be trap to draw us out." Orpheus stated with Ohgi nodding in agreement.
"I see… then who is this individual?" Lelouch asked before Orpheus give him the dossier. He looks at picture and surprised it was none other than Diethard Ried the well-known news reporter who own the van he 'stole' from. He then looks at his fellow Riders before making a decision.
"This weekend, we're going hiking." Zangetsu announced. "To the Narita Mountains!" This cause everyone to look surprised at him.
"Hiking?"
(Elsewhere in Shinjuku)
"The Narita Mountain, huh?" Ayano asked in surprised. "The same goes for my informant." Lelouch answered. "Anyway, are you up for trying your belt?"
Ayano nodded before they heard a familiar voice.
"So this is where you are…" A familiar voice said as both Lelouch and Ayano turn to see Kallen by the front yard.
"Kallen, what are you doing here?" Lelouch asked.
"I noticed you went a different direction route than usually and the fact you were meeting up with her brings some questions I want to ask but I didn't get the chance to." Kallen questioned, stares at Ayano. "I know you're Japanese. Who exactly are you?" she asked to Ayano.
"I guess there is no point of hiding. But my real name is Ayano Kosaka and I'm Lelouch's childhood friend." Ayano said.
"C-Childhood friend?" Kallen asked, looking surprised at Lelouch. "Really?"
"That is true. We know each other before the Britannia invaded Japan." Lelouch said.
"I see…" Kallen said. "Are you joining the Black Knights?" she asked.
Ayano nodded. "It's better than joining the JLF since they are a disappointment." She said.
"Why is the JLF a disappointment?" Kallen asked, can't help feeling curious.
"They just have no choice but to die out," Ayano replied. "I wasn't just sitting around in France, I had some access to some books that some people tossed and my grandfather homeschooled me. Even if they managed to get back Japan from Britannia, what will they do afterward?" she asked.
"Nothing…" Kallen said. Ayano nodded.
"They will ends up facing retaliation from Britannia with lack of numbers to fight back." Lelouch added.
"Even if you have a Driver, you don't-" Kallen said.
"I already seen the truth about the Forest and it take me some time to get used it." Ayano finished as the redhead looks dumbfounded.
"Since when?" Kallen asked.
"That a secret… maybe I can sparring with you instead?" Ayano asked, taking out the Sengoku Driver.
"Do you really think you can handle the belt?" Kallen asked before taking out her Banana Lockseed.
"BANANA!"
"Henshin…" Kallen said.
"COME ON! BANANA ARMS! KNIGHT OF SPEAR!"
The Banana Arms descend down on her shoulders and head before she becomes Kamen Rider Baron. She got out her Banaspear into her hand.
"I know I can." Ayano said before placing the Driver onto her waist and the yellow belt wrapped around her waist. Suddenly the faceplate lit up with helmet of dark blue armored samurai with clear visor and the mouth guard is yellow and silver. Blue winds blowing in the background.
Ayano takes out her Blueberry Lockseed and pressed it.
"BLUEBERRY!"
Suddenly a Crack appears above Ayano and a metallic blueberry emerged above her head. Ayano then placed the Lockseed into the Driver then locked it inside.
"LOCK ON!"
Suddenly war-horn similar to Zangetsu and Yami Gaim's start playing in the background now. Ayano stares at Kallen before pushing down her Cutting Blade.
"SOIYA!"
Soon the Blueberry Arms land on her shoulders before morphing her body into her bodysuit. Her bodysuit resembled that of Zangetsu except the color is gray. The gauntlets and greaves gleamed dark blue, but there are green crystals embedding in the middle of the greaves.
"BLUEBERRY ARMS! AMENO GOMEN!"
The Blueberry Arms soon disassembled and began to becoming armors for her. The front section coming together in blue plating with white lines. Her shoulder armors resembled that of Kamuro and Zangetsu, but much bulkier. But what surprising about them that they have two katana resting on them. Both of them have blueberry-shaped hilt with green ribbon on the tied to the hilt. Her helmet looks the same as her faceplate, but gain new attachments in form of dark blue V-fin that made her looks like a samurai as her visor glowing dark blue colors.
"So what is your name?" Baron asked.
"Kamen Rider… Habakiri." The new armored warrior said, before taking out both of her blades from her shoulder armors.
Both of them stared at each other intensely before they charged at another as Habakiri blocked Baron's Banaspear with both of her swords as sparks flying in the air. Habakiri then flung Baron backward before charged forward with several slashing on her chest.
"Not bad… you seem to be good with those swords…" Baron said, stares at Habakiri.
"I learned from my grandfather." Habakiri said.
But Baron charged forward and dodge an incoming slash from Habakiri before Habakiri dodged an attack that scratch her shoulder armor.
"You mention that your grandfather in France… were you in the E.U.?" Baron asked.
"I was… because of them, I lost both my grandfather and my friends." Habakiri said.
This made Baron looks quiet at Habakiri. "I am sorry about your loss… It must been hard." she said.
"It's no different from what Lelouch told me about you." Habakiri said. "Though… I am confused about how can you fake being sick to others especially Suzaku baka fell for it."
"What…?" Baron looks confused at Habakiri.
"Lelouch told me that you're avoiding swimming class, but even your uniform cannot hide the fact you have the muscle tone of an athlete and the curves of a model. And he is right. I bet that I can bounce a rock on your abs." Habakiri said before noticed a dark aura coming from Baron. "What's wrong?" she asked with confused expression.
"You…" Baron growl with animal-like sound. "Take that back!"
This made Habakiri sweatdropped immediately before Baron charged her and the two continued clashing with another as sparks flying in the air.
"Oh boy… Ayano shouldn't mention that." Lelouch facepalmed.
Habakiri did her best to dodge the countless attacks from Baron's Banaspear before landing on the fences with ease.
"Get back here and fight me!" Baron roared before pushing down her Cutting Blade once.
"COME ON! BANANA SQUASH!"
"Ayano! Quickly use your Cutting Blade!" Lelouch shout.
Habakiri looks down at the Cutting Blade and pushed it down once.
"SOIYA! BLUEBERRY SQUASH!"
Energy surrounded both blades as Habakiri jumps into the sky. Suddenly small projections of blueberry surrounding her before turning into sword shaped and she shoot them at Baron.
Baron uses her Banaspear to knock away the incoming attack before three swords like attacks knock on the ground around her then a projection of a blueberry encased Baron. Habakiri crossed her blades into an X-shape and then she swung them apart, slicing the blueberry with Baron inside. The fruit projection exploded, taking Baron with it as she screamed out loud.
Baron's form suddenly revert before transforming back to Kallen on the ground as she looks up at Habakiri who approached her with a hand.
"Need a hand?" Habakiri asked.
Kallen sighed before she takes her hand and got up. "You were holding back…" she said with a hint of angry.
"Well, I can't have you become injury to using your new Knightmare." Habakiri said.
"Next time we fight, I expecting you take it serious, newbie." Kallen said before glancing at Lelouch then back at Habakiri. "Make sure he does go to PE often." She said before leaving.
"I heard that, you two!" Lelouch snapped. This causes Habakiri giggle before revert her transformation back to her original form.
"How do you feel?" Lelouch asked.
"You definitely outdone yourself for the suit, Lelouch." Ayano said.
"It was nothing. Anyway, let's head back now." Lelouch said. But he know Ayano will be upset if she didn't get to use a katana and he did do some research.
(With Suzaku)
Suzaku is reading the newspaper after ran another update test for Lloyd. The papers is current about the Black Knight stopping another drug mafia and more of the creatures known as Inves crawling on the street.
What exactly is the Black Knights getting it at? Most of all, what are these Inves? Suzaku thought to himself. He think back to when he asks Bujin Gaim this question.
(Flashback)
"But why are you doing this…? Why is Zangetsu doing this?" Suzaku asked. "All of you are causing destruction!" he exclaimed.
"You claimed that you don't want to see pain and suffering, but you forget there is always prices to pay after you enter a battlefield. Your hands are already covered in the blood of innocent people who perished in the Shinjuku Ghetto." He said.
This causes Suzaku to flinch at Bujin Gaim's statement and have no means to fight back as he falls to his knee.
"Don't blame others for their crimes when your hands too stained in blood." Bujin Gaim pointed out.
Seeing Suzaku's painful expression, Euphy decided to enter the conversation.
"There should be another way to resolved this…" Euphie said.
"Like what?" Bujin Gaim asked.
"Like I could become the Knight of One where I would be given the ability to govern any area of my choice." Suzaku jumped in.
"Even if you claimed to reach Knight of One and claimed Japan for yourselves, then what about those other Zones being oppressed by Britannia? Are you going to let them suffered as well?" Bujin Gaim questioned.
(Present)
Suzaku had once asks Lloyd this question and he brought up the same point. Even if he only protected Japan, suffering and discrimination will continued in other Areas.
'But I only want to do what is right for them after what happened-' Suzaku thought before a voice interrupted him.
"But are you really happy with the path that you're going?" A voice asked.
Suzaku turn and seeing a strange man with headband sitting next to him on the couch. This made Suzaku's eyes wide and jump back immediately.
"W-Whoa! Where did you come from!?" Suzaku exclaimed in shocked. Why didn't he sense him earlier!?
"I've been here since you were so paying attention to the paper… Suzaku Kururugi, son of the Previous Japan Prime Minister." The headband man said with a smirk.
"H-How do you know my name?" Suzaku questioned.
"I have my ways, but I am asking you again, Suzaku. Are you really happy with the path that you're going?" He asked.
"Happy…?" Suzaku asked. "Of course… I am."
"I doubted you allow yourself feel that way after what you did back then." The man said. This causes Suzaku's eyes wide and face turn paled.
"Y-You know what I did…?" Suzaku asked in shocked.
"Of course. Even though the adults covered it up to protect you." The man said. "Though what if he did listen to you…?"
"It won't matter since he is too stubborn to even listen to me." Suzaku said with hint of bitter tone, thinking about his own father. "There was no other way…" he muttered.
"But why did you join the military?" The man asked.
"It the only way I can get Japan back and stop all fighting." Suzaku answered.
"That is quite contradictive to your idea of stop the conflict. Do you really think that could be the only way to get Japan back?" The headband man asked. "What about the Black Knights?"
"They are nothing more than terrorists. If they want to fight for justice, they should do under the eye of the law." Suzaku countered, glares at the man.
"Oh really? You think that the law could help people after those soldiers try to force you to kill your friend when you two discovered that capsule contain the girl, not the posion gas?" The headband man chuckled at Suzaku's speechless expression.
"… No, it can't be." Suzaku said.
"Did you even find the last Viceroy's goal of capturing the girl strange or something? Like human experimentation…" The headband man said.
Suzaku want to counter against it, but he can't help think back to the incident with the discovery of the lime hair girl. He finds there are somethings doesn't making any senses or offical made any report of it.
Then what is the point of—Suzaku thought, shaking.
"Suzaku, are you alright?" Suzaku looks up to see Cecile looking at him.
"Cecile?"
"I noticed you were ponding on something. Is there anything wrong?" Cecile asked.
"Umm…" Suzaku looks around and doesn't see the headband man anywhere in the room. "Cecile, did you see anyone in the room beside me?" he asked.
"No. I only saw you." Cecile answered.
What is going on? Could it be that I was imagining that guy up? Suzaku thought confused to himself.
Unknown to him, the headband man or Sagara watched him through the hallway.
"… I hope you show potential soon." Sagara said before he vanished into thin air.
(With Rai)
Rai is currently resting on his bed and looking at the Black Orange Lockseed in his hand. He was current think back to those ruins that Kallen just show him.
He was shocked at first to learn about Helheim is actually another world perished after abusing the power of Helheim and the Inves were once the civilization live there.
But he starting to understand why Zangetsu would stake a rebellion against Britannia. If Britannia know about what they could do- It will be a disaster! Because he can see they will only abused the power of Helheim for their own conquest and repeated the same thing happening.
"This is why the Black Knights must take down Britannia before Helheim invade. Are you with us, Rai?" Kallen asked, looking back at him.
If that is going to happens to our world then I will make sure it won't happened! Rai thought to himself. He also planned on find that Rider who seem to know about him.
Then Rai got another shocking surprised in form of Lelouch who was really Zangetsu.
(Flashback)
Rai was looking at his Sengoku Driver as he try to find any clues about his past surrounding this type of Driver.
Suddenly Lelouch came into his room and Rai hide his Driver.
"Lelouch, do you need something?" Rai asked curious.
"Rai, there is something I need to tell you. But not here." Lelouch said as he gestured the white hair teen to follow him.
"Okay…" Rai followed him out of the hallway and Lelouch lead him to the garage with the Sakura Hurricane, this brings up questions.
"Lelouch, are you-" Lelouch brought out his Melon Lockseed.
"Zangetsu." He said.
Suddenly Orpheus and C.C. came to join them.
"Rai… we have much to talk about."
(Present)
He was shocked that Lelouch is Zangetsu the whole time the same one Milly have been trying to hunt since he didn't fit the ideal person as Zangetsu. But he also learned about Orpheus and Lelouch have Geass especially the information about the Geass and the Geass Order before revealing his own Geass to them.
Rai also promised to keep their identities a secret since they're fellow Riders and he might find out a clue in the Geass Order about his own identity.
"Thought what is this hiking about…?" Rai muttered confused to himself.
(With Lelouch)
After eating dinner with Nunnally and Sayoko, Lelouch is currently in his lab as he running through a virtual simulator focused for the plan on Marita since the plan focused on Kallen's new Knightframe Guren.
"This is what I got after analyzing Guren's weapon. I have to admit that Guren's Radiation Surge is powerful." Club said.
In another world, Lelouch would made a miscalculation to how powerful the Guren's main weapon and ruined the lives of many innocent lives especially a certain friend's father. But being a Rider for nearly 7 years have matured the mind of Lelouch himself so he could be ready to rebel against Britannia.
There have to be another way to get the civilian out… Lelouch thought before his eyes wide immediately. "Of course… Euphy." He chuckled.
Though the idea of making contact his half-sister might be a little risky, but knowing she will have no choice and accept his idea when innocent lives are involved.
Lelouch soon picks up the phone and dialed Jeremiah's numbers.
"Jeremiah, it's me." Lelouch said.
"Do you need something?" Jeremiah asked.
"I need your help with something." Lelouch said with a smile.
(Next morning)
"This is nice." Nunnally smiled, the blind angel sitting at the breakfast table with Lelouch, a humming Sayoko moving in the background, tiding up after them. "We haven't had breakfast together for a while."
"I didn't want to leave on my trip without seeing you." Lelouch explained, smiling at the girl as he helped slice up her pancakes for her, "Here, open wide."
Nunnally giggled, but nonetheless complied, allowing her brother to feed her whilst Sayoko looked on in bemused approval, deciding to let the siblings have their moments together as she slipped out stealthily, like the ninja she was.
After all, I give her a chance to live a normal life… Lelouch thought as he watched her chewing her pancakes peacefully.
"It's nice to spend time with you again, brother." Nunnally spoke up, interrupting Lelouch's thoughts. "I was worried that I have to ask Sayoko to buy some needles…"
Not the Needles… Lelouch thought shivering, recalling how Sayoko does during his training with her to get a little better.
"Lelouch-sama? It's time." Lelouch turn to Sayoko's voice and looks up at the clock. I need to be ready… he thought.
"Thank you, Sayoko." Lelouch offered, the elder Lamperouge finishing off his breakfast in due order, before kissing Nunnally on the head and ruffling her hair, "I'll be back in three days, take care until then, alright?"
"Okay…" Nunnally sighed, internally sad that her brother was leaving, but understanding that, as an elder brother, there were times he needed to get out on his own—
That reminds me, Ayano-chan says that she will be gone for a few days to see what changes in Japan, but it can't be a coincidence that Big brother and Ayano-chan went out at different time… Nunnally thought to herself.
"Could they secretly be on a date?" Nunnally wonder out loud.
Sayoko heard a sneezed sound and she could swear that sound like her master. But shouldn't he be already left for the mission now?
"We're certain that the Japan Liberation Front's headquarters are in this Area." Dalton reported, standing before Cornelia as the command center drew close to the mountains. "We've already split up four battalions and hidden them in the vicinity, all we need is the Vicerory's signal and we'll surround them in one fell swoop and wipe them out."
"Sister…" Euphemia voiced, the pink haired princess looking up at her elder sibling, who was seated once more on her command chair. "Are you confident that the enemy won't show up outside the encirclement line?"
"You mean Zangetsu?" Cornelia asked, one leg crossed over the other as she sat in her chair, Guilford at her side as Dalton reassured her sibling. "If Zangetsu does show up, we can call up the reserve units to finish him off."
Euphemia frowned, honestly uncertain as she felt about that statement. On one hand, bringing Clovis's murderer to justice seemed like the right thing to do. On other hand, her encounter with Zangetsu the second time during the hostage incident. She can't help feeling something familiar about him.
That feeling in my chest… Euphemia thought, looking back at the memory of the encounter, even as Cornelia rose from her seat to board her Knightframe.
Suddenly her eyes widened, recall memory of a smiling, purple eyed boy who used to play with her in the royal gardens.
Could it be…? The pink haired princess thought.
"Milady?" a voice called out, Euphemia looking up to find a concerned looking guard with a phone in his hands, "A message for you…"
Euphemia blinked, accepting the receiver from the man and holding it to her ear with a confused expression, "Hello?" she asked. "Who is this?"
"It's me, Euphemia…" A familiar, modulated voice greeted warmly, Euphemia's eyes widening as she fought the urge to shout the man's name aloud, looking around in concern to see if she'd drawn undue attention. "I have information for you…"
"Why should I listen?" Euphemia asked, calming herself as Cornelia had taught her, a small frown marring her features as she reminded herself that this was Clovis's murderer she was talking to and her possible suspicious, "Why should I trust a word you say?"
"I merely thought to warn you that there's a plausible chance that civilians will be caught up in the battle today."
Euphemia's eyes widened, gaping in shock as the white samurai's words as she gripped the receiver tightly in her gloved hands.
"Only you can prevent loss of innocent life, Euphemia." Zangetsu intoned, warmly, "Euphemia, I know you will not allow a single drop of innocent blood spilled."
Euphemia exhaled, closing her eyes to steady herself, wishing she could ask the question in her heart, but smothered the urge, as there were too many witness, and always a possibility that the line was being tapped.
"W-what do I have to do?" she asked.
Rai and Orpheus waiting with others in their Burais until Ohgi confirmed the signal that they got from Zangetsu. Meanwhile they were overhearing the rest of the Black Knights talking as they moving up the trail.
"Why doesn't Zangetsu just use the radio in his Knightmare?" a voice on the radio asked.
"Uh, military training, right? Only with Zangetsu in another location."
"Maybe we'll dig a hot spring. Is that why we brought all these excavators? If so then I'm all for it? Kallen, you hear anything about this?" Tamaki asked.
"Hmm… I think it possible that he is trying to confirm the information that Ohgi and Orpheus received the other day about the JLF." Kallen suggested to others.
"You might bring up a point, Kallen." Orpheus said.
But are we really helping the JLF, Lelouch? Ohgi thought to himself.
(Outpost)
"It appears that the day I've waited for has finally come, Cornelia." Lelouch said to himself as he looked over the dossier.
The raven hair teen then looks out the window before noticed C.C. in her prison outfit, outside doing nothing.
He soon went outside to meet with her.
"What are you doing out here, C.C.?" Lelouch asked. "I thought you were lazily eating pizza at home." He said.
C.C. didn't move an inch. "I'm curious, why are you still Lelouch?" The lime hair girl asked. Lelouch just shook his head.
"I don't have time for discussing philosophy." He said.
"I meant your name. You've change your last name to Lamperouge but you chose to keep the first name that you were given at birth. How sentimental. You just can't let go of the past."
"Well, C.C. does seem a bit extreme doesn't? It's not a human name." When C.C. turned around and looked at him. It soon started to snow a little bit.
"Lelouch, do you know why snow is white?"
"Hmm?"
"Snow is white because it's forgotten what color it's supposed to be." C.C. answered.
"Hey, are you sure about this?" Ohgi asked, looking on in confusion, and a little concern, as the excavators they brought with them burrowed into the soil of the mountain, several other members of the Black Knights sharing his concern.
"Our opponent is Cornelia Li Britannia." Zangetsu informed to the former resistance leader, "Whose forces are among the best Britannia has to offer." He nodded towards the excavators, "With these, we can level the playing field in our favor."
"If that's the case, shouldn't we help out the JLF?" Ohgi asked.
"Todoh and the Four Holy Swords are already on their way." Zangetsu informed the man, earning gasps of shock from the Black Knights.
The five warriors were the most famous Knightmare pilots in the JLF, even from before the war with Britannia.
"However, they won't be working with us, but neither will they fight against us."
"The enemy of my enemy is my friend huh?" Ohgi reasoned, nodding his head in understanding, as it certainly made a lot of sense, "Right, I can see how that works…" he trailed off as aircraft flew in from all sides.
"It's begun." Zangetsu said before stepping forward even. "Everyone," he called out, drawing the Knights' attention to himself with a raised hand, "Prepare to move out."
"Are you insane?!" Tamaki yelp, pointing down the mountain with his firearm, where Cornelia's troops were amassing, like fire ants storming a downed kill, "We can't fight all those troops head on!"
"We won't have to." Zangetsu assured, earning the looks of confusion from all of the members. "Tell me, Knuckle, what's one of the most common causes of death in the mountains?" he asked.
"Uh landslides I think…" the former leader of the resistance cell muttered, looking at the vigilante in confusion, "But Zangetsu… what does that have to do with-" Suddenly his eyes widening, the Black Knights, as a whole, turned to gape at the excavators that were even now drilling into the mountainside.
"No freaking way…" Tamaki gasped in stunned disbelief. "You planned this far ahead…?"
"A sword can kill one person," Zangetsu intoned, his voice carrying to the assembled Black Knights as if on the wind, "Tactics, however, can slay an army." He turned to face the Guren. "Kallen?"
"Before we do, I have one question to ask. What about the civilian down there?" Kallen asked, pointed the Guren's claw at the cliff.
"Yeah… don't they live down there?" Ohgi asked.
"Already accounted for." Zangetsu assured him before take out a cellphone. "Bloody Orange… escort the herd."
"Yes, my lord." Ohgi blinking in confusion as Zangetsu take away his phone and going to the Club.
"Who… was that?" a member asked.
"Someone I trust with my life." Zangetsu answered, advanced toward his Knightframe. "He'll get the civilians out."
(With Jeremiah)
"Lord Jeremiah, are you certain of these orders?" Villetta asked as she looking over at the former margrave's Knightframe as they oversaw the evacuation of the civilian area.
"Princess Euphemia was concerned for the safety of the civilians so close to the battlefield." Jeremiah answered over the radio, using his Sutherland to help direct the evacuation of said civilians with a distant drive. "Would you question the Sub-Viceroy?"
"They probably didn't want ORANGE getting near Zangetsu…" Kewell muttered, earning a glare from Villetta, but from the same target, causing him to scoff, "See, even ORANGE understands it."
"If you have time to be blowing hot air, Kewell, then use it to direct the civilians." Jeremiah countered, not even turning to face the sputtering pilot, "Frankly, I don't have time to deal with your idiocy."
"IDIOCY?!" Kewell repeated, leveling his Sutherland's rifle at the back of the former Margrave's own Knightmare, face a mask of rage over the radio, "You dare mock me, after ruining the name of the Purists?!"
"To think I recruit an idiot…" Jeremiah taunted. "If you're going to shoot me Kewell, then at least have courtesy to do it where people won't be caught in crossfire."
"Why you-!" the purist snarled, only to be cut off as Jeremiah's frame whipped round, closing the distance between them in record time. Jeremiah's Knightmare kicked out, snapping the purist's Sutherland's leg off at the knee, before shooting off the arm holding the rifle, ripping it off the frame while Kewell screamed in fear.
"Be grateful that, unlike you, I'm not the type of man that kills his comrades." Jeremiah stated, standing over the ruined Sutherland, his rifle aimed at the Knightframe's head. "Continue with the evacuation! We must have the civilians out of the danger zone before-!"
Suddenly the sound of gunfire echoed through the mountain, Jeremiah's eyes narrowing, cursing under his breath as he turned to face his men, "They've started! All forces, continue to evacuate the civilians!"
"What about Kewell?" Villetta asked.
Jeremiah turned his attention towards their former friend who just finished clambering out of his ruined Knightmare and flee into the forest. "He drew a gun on you." She said.
"That's for the military tribunal to resolve." Jeremiah informed her, earning a look of shocked from the dark skinned woman, "Villetta, take the rest of the men and accompany the civilians to safety."
"What about you?" Villetta asked, in concern. After all, that landslide looked like it could wipe out a small settlement if it hit.
"First, I'm going to take Kewell into custody." Jeremiah informed her and going into the forest. "I'll catch up later."
Villetta said nothing before saluting and heading off with the rest, leaving him alone.
Whoa…. Ayano thought as she looks surprised through her Burai at what just happened along with many Black Knights.
The growing tidal wave of earth, rocks, and trees that swept down the mountainside, steadily increasing in size and speed as it went. The mass of debris cutting a path into the heart of Britannia's encirclement, effectively dividing it in two smaller forces.
The Britannians in the G1 command vehicle could only watch in shock and worry, helpless to do anything, as over 80% of their military might was annihilated in the blink of an eye.
"I can't imagined the looks those JLF's faces if they're watching right now…" Ayano smirked before Zangetsu's voice could be heard through all Burai's radio.
"Black Knights, the Britannians are in disarray, their force is crippled." Zangetsu announced as he uploaded their battle layout and plan. "The time to attack is now! All forces move out! The Guren and Lancelot Club will cut a path!"
Soon the force charged while some of them break off to secure other points. Rai and a few of the Burais broke off to the left while Orpheus led the force to right. Ayano and Kallen stayed with Zangetsu as they progressed down the middle.
They emerged out of the crack. Something so large, that no man, have ever dared saw before.
The first was the dragon wrapped around itself with a reptilian hiss. It looked everything like it's mystic namesake, save for the fact its skin looked like tarnished copper, a dark rusted green. Copper flame decorations rose up from its shoulder and hind legs. It even had a ring of those flames on its back like a decoration.
The second beast was a large tiger. Although its legs were white with black strikes, most of its body was covered in thick armor that looked like jade, decorating it like the Chinese would their tiger statues. Large spines rose from its back and its claws looked especially sharp as they glinted in the light.
On top of the group was a shrieking bird. Although it had red feathers coming from its wings and long crimson tail feathers, the majority of its body was covered in tarnished red copper. It shared a distinct similarity with a phoenix, complete with the crimson cinders which fell from its feather with each flap of its wing.
Lastly coming out of the group bunch was a massive turtle which looked to be made entirely of jade which was lined with black obsidian, making it harder to tell where the creature ended and its shell began. Its neck extended from its body as it let out a deep rumbling call, stomping the floor and causing the trees to bend and groan under its weight.
They sniffed the air as they smell mature Lockseeds before they let out a roar before going after them.
Kewell continued ran for his life through the woods as the Purist cursing his misfortune right now.
"Damn him… Damn them all!" Kewell shout before hearing a bestial growl and he turned to see a furious the massive tiger stares down at him.
"WHAT THE HELL—" Before the creature devoured him completely.
Suddenly a rapid bullets shot at the Inves and made the beast stared at Jeremiah's Knightframe.
"You monster…" Jeremiah growl with angrily.
He'd known Kewell for years, the man had served under him since landing in Area Eleven… Japan rather, and had been one of the largest supporters of the now defunct purists. But the man's loyalty had already been proven to be questionable, as he'd actually plotted to kill Jeremiah, or simply discredit him further, since the Orange incident.
I'm sorry Kewell… but it was for the sake of Lord Lelouch and Lady Nunnally's future! Jeremiah thought to himself.
"Raaahhh!" Jeremiah roared as the Knightframe charged into battle against the Advanced Byakko Inves.
"SOIYA! MELON SQUASH!"
The Club throws his Melon Defender and sliced down several of Cornelia's Knightframe forces with ease. He turns around to see Ayano's Burai slash away three more Knightframes.
"How are you doing, Habakiri?" Zangetsu asked.
"To be honest, I haven't this much Knightframe actions since the E.U." Ayano answered with amusing smile.
"AAAAAHHHH! Get that thing away from me!" Tamaki's voice screamed very girlish.
"Tamaki, what just happened?" Zangetsu asked, slight sweatdropped.
"I-I don't know! But my group been attacked by a giant fucking turtle and I saw another nearby!" Tamaki exclaimed. "What the hell are they!?"
Zangetsu frowned when he heard that. 'Damn, I never would guess Berserker Inves got involved!' he thought to himself.
"There is no about it… a Berserker Inves." Zangetsu said.
"You mean those you and Orpheus taught in your Inves class?" Ohgi asked in surprised. He and Kallen were the ones paid attention to their lecture about Inves have three different stages.
"Orpheus. Are you there?" Zangetsu asked.
"I am a little busy right now." Orpheus said before Zangetsu heard a growling sound in the background from his radio. "A Seiryu Inves chasing me."
"I'm checking on the one looks like a phoenix!" Rai said.
"There is more?" Kallen asked in shocked.
"I won't be surprised if there is a tiger, then there will be all four Sovereigns." Ayano said.
"All units! It seem we have some unwanted guests on the field. Keep your eyes out and stay caution of them. Ohgi, I want you and your force to assist Tamaki against the Genbu Inves immediately." Zangetsu said.
"I will do!" Ohgi said.
Ohgi and a couple of Burai arrives to the last location where Tamaki and others was.
"Tamaki, are you here?" Ohgi asked.
"Help us!" a voice cried out.
They soon spotted a giant turtle which looked to be made entirely of jade which was lined with black obsidian, making it harder to tell where the creature ended and its shell began. The Genbu Inves is currently in a chased after the Tamaki and three Burai right now.
There isn't much of a choice… Ohgi thought before equipping his Sengoku Driver on his waist and getting out of his Burai.
"One of you watched over my Burai while the rest help them get out of there!" Ohgi said before getting out his Suika Lockseed.
"SUIKA!"
The massive Suika Arms appeared over Ohgi immediately as he locked the Lockseed into the Driver.
"LOCK ON!"
"What are you doing, sir? Are you going to kill yourself!?" One of the Burai asked panic at the size of the watermelon.
"I will be fine!" Ohgi said. "Henshin!" he shout before pushing down the Cutting Blade.
"SUIKA ARMS! ODAMA BIG BANG!"
The Suika Arms crashed down on Ohgi immediately before transforming into Yoroi Mode as Knuckle is armed with watermelon like boxing gloves.
"Ikuze…" Knuckle said before charging forward.
(With Orpheus)
Orpheus did his best by firing Burai's gun at the flying Seiryu Inves to keep it away from the JLF Knightframes.
"So that demon known as Inves." Todoh said with a serious expression.
"Are you sure that you don't need help?" Asashina asked to Orpheus.
"Sorry… But it my job to fight against Inves." Orpheus said before a smirk form on his face. He knows that a normal Knightframe can't keep up with something powerful as a Berserker Inves, but he has something that could work.
The Seiryu Inves looks angry at Orpheus's Burai before firing powerful blue flame directly at him and engulfed the Knightframe immediately.
"Henshin…" Orpheus said before opening his Budou Lockseed.
But suddenly a bright green flame covered the Burai immediately and the Burai's appearance made a change before the flame vanished.
In Burai's place is a new Knightframe and looks almost humanoid like Club except for partial draconic like appearance. Its armor color is mostly white and dark green. The right shoulder armor resembled the head of a Chinese dragon and other one have draconic like wing. The Knightframe's visor have two different colors as one is red and other is green.
"About time… I was waiting for some actions, Orpheus." A deep voice grunted from the Knightframe at Ryugen who is sitting on the chair.
"It time to flight, Draco!" Ryugen shout as Draco raised up his wing before it starts glowing and the Knightframe began to fly.
The Advanced Inves let out a roar before send another fiery flame at Draco, but Draco dodged the shot before slamming into the Inves to knock it back. The Seiryu Inves lashed out with its tail and send Draco sprawling into the woods before causing him to crashed.
The Seiryu Inves soon ready to make a charge at the Knightframe before it got struck by several purple shoots from the say target himself!
"I won't go down easy, motherfucker!" Draco roared before charging into the air before unleashed a powerful fist at the Seiryu Inves's face.
"Time to ends this!" Ryugen said before hit the Cutting Blade down.
"HAI~! BUDOU AU LAIT!"
Draco's eyes glow immediately before he firing a purple orb into the sky which resembled a grape then he fired at it again. This causes the grapes to burst into multiply shots and they came at the Seiryu Inves's stomach.
Cornelia soon find the Guren MK II and the two begun their fight. Cornelia's Knightframe tried to jab it with her lance but the Guren grabbed it with the Radiant Wave Surge and starting surging it along with her right arm.
Cornelia launched her right arm, but her Knightframe's left arm was sliced off by a familiar shield. The Witch of Britannia turns and look where the shot comes from, she spotted the Lancelot Club, along with other Burais including Ayano's, with a Revolving Blade.
"Coward! Attacking from the rear!" Cornelia argued.
"You're one to talk, Cornelia. This time, I won't show the same kind of mercy I did back at Saitama." Zangetsu said.
Cornelia gritting her teethes before told Guilford and Darlton to take care of Euphie before charging forward.
"Lelouch, my scanner says something coming at a fast pace to this direction." Club said as this made Zangetsu's eyes wide.
Suddenly the Lancelot came out through with a VARIS in its hand and landed in front of Cornelia.
"Viceroy, are you ok? I came to help." Suzaku said.
"Special Corps? Who authorized you?" Cornelia questioned.
"Hey, isn't that Knightmare-?"
"Yeah, the same one from Shinjuku and Lake Kawaguchi." Another Burai said.
"Suzaku…" Zangetsu/ Ayano/Kallen muttered under their breath.
Club's eyes narrowed at the Lancelot, gripping his blade tightly. "So this is what I was replaced for…" Club said.
"No matter, he could still be taken down just as I did before." Zangetsu stated to himself but then he just remembered his goal was Cornelia not the Lancelot. "But our goal is Cornelia, Club." He said to his Knightframe.
"Very well…" The Knightframe grunted before blocking several shots with his Melon Defender.
Now I got a better look at him, why does his Knightframe resembled Lancelot? Suzaku thought as he looks at the Club's structure.
"MK II, take care of this trash, since you might want to even the score for what happened in Shinjuku." Zangetsu ordered. This isn't just an order, but also a test for a special function that Club created in the Guren to help Kallen. But to see if the Guren can compete against the Lancelot.
Suzaku, I may consider you're a good person at school… but I won't let you get away with this! Kallen thought with serious expression.
The Lancelot started firing the VARIS rifle but the Guren dodged all of its shots. When the Guren was close enough, the Lancelot tried doing a kick but the Guren grabbed it with its gauntlet and started the surging process. Suzaku detached the Sand Panel on that leg and got away before it was destroyed.
The Lancelot pushed the Guren to the side while it grabbed an MVS out before firing again.
"You take care of that thing, I'm heading for Zangetsu!" Cornelia said as she fired her slash harkens.
The Club blocked the attack with the Melon Defender before shooting at the purple Knightframe and Cornelia made her machine dodged the attack.
Before they could continue fighting, they got hit by an incoming fireball from the sky and it's from none other than the phoenix like Inves.
"Another of those pesky monsters…" Cornelia grunted.
"I will take care of this one!" Ayano said before pushing her Burai to charge at the Suzaku Inves. The Suzaku Inves let out a fiery cried before send flames at Ayano's Burai, but Burai dodged the attack and strike the Inves in the chest with the revolving blade.
The Suzaku grunted in pain before unleashed another flame at the Burai immediately before the Knightframe dodged into the trees.
"SOIYA! BLUEBERRY ARMS! AMENO GOMEN!"
Suddenly jumping out from the tree cover is none other than Habakiri as she heading for the phoenix Inves and stabbed her blades on the chest.
"Got you!" Habakiri exclaimed before the Suzaku Inves try to take off with her.
The Guren charged with its knife in other hand. The Lancelot soon launched its other sand panel which the Guren soon destroyed. The Guren and Lancelot were now in a close range fight. Attacks and dodges were made.
Then the Lancelot tried to strike at it with the MVS, but the Guren caught it and broke it. It tried to fire again, but the Guren tried to block it with the Radiant Wave Surge. It worked but the Guren got pushed to the edge of the cliff with its gauntlet sparking meaning that it won't work right now. The Lancelot then tried to charge in with its other MVS.
I won't let it end like this! Kallen thought with seriousness.
"Let's just say that the time you transform when using the Guren, you will be in for a surprise." Lelouch's voice started to rang in her head making Kallen's eyes wide.
She got out her Banana Lockseed immediately before unlocking it.
"BANANA!"
Before the Lancelot could attacked the Guren, the Guren start giving off yellow light to blind him immediately. The Guren's orange color replaced with yellow color and knight like visor as the gauntlet is replaced with a new weapon similar to the Banaspear.
"She did it…" Zangetsu said as he and others witness this.
"H-How is that possible?" Suzaku asked, looking dumbfounded.
"Very interesting…" Baron commented, "It time for round two, numbskull."
(Back with Knuckle)
Knuckle managed to punch the Genbu Inves back from the others as the Inves growl in pain. Suddenly the Genbu Inves soon goes hiding in its shell before start spinning rapidly before Knuckle can laid a hand on the Inves.
"Damn… I never thought it could do something like that." Knuckle comment. What could he do to stop its spinning?
Knuckle heard a bestial growl before he turn to see the Byakko Inves coming toward his direction and pounced on him immediately.
"A Phoenix… Turtle… Tiger… and Dragon. We're dealing with the Sovereign Berserkers." Knuckle said with a grim expression, trying to hold back against the Byakko Inves.
Before the Byakko Inves could even attack him, it got hit by seed bullets from out of nowhere and Knuckle turns to see another Rider in Suika Arms.
"Thanks…" Knuckle said.
"Never thought I will get one. But can you still fight, Knuckle?" Bujin Gaim questioned.
Knuckle doesn't know how he knows his title or how strange his voice, but he nodded as the two riders in Suika Arms look back at their respective enemies.
The two Riders let out a war cry before charging at the Inves. Bujin Gaim let out a powerful slash on the Byakko Inves before Knuckle followed up with several brutally punches at the Inves to causes sparks in the air. The Genbu Inves let out a growl before firing a torrent of water from its mouth at Knuckle. Bujin Gaim stand in the way and spins his weapon to protect both of them.
"Let's finished this!" Knuckle said before pushing down his Cutting Blade twice.
"Time to send you back where you came!" Bujin Gaim roared before pushing down his Cutting Blades.
"SUIKA AU LAIT!"
Both of their weapons began to glow with emerald green lights as Knuckle charge forward first and send both of his Suika Bombers at the Advanced Inves as sparks flying off of them. Bujin Gaim then came up next and draw a watermelon like sphere then a projection of watermelon trapped both Inves.
The two Riders charge forward as they unleashed their respective attacks at them before they exploded into nothing as the virtual watermelon exploded.
Knuckle was about to turn to look at Bujin Gaim before noticed him already transform his Suika Arms into Gyro Mode and flied off.
"I wonder who he was…." Knuckle wonder out loud. But he can't help get this weird feeling that he know Bujin Gaim from somewhere.
Habakiri is hanging on for her life as the Phoenix like Inves is trying to shaking her off of it by flying in the air. If she doesn't do something fast about the Inves, then she is going to have a rough landing.
"AAAAHHHH!" Habakiri screamed as she holding on for her live while trying to hold on against the Inves who trying to shaking the unwanted passenger before successes did it.
Before Habakiri fall to the ground, a yellow blur caught her immediately and find herself on a hover bike.
"Are you alright?" Yami Gaim asked to Habakiri who landed on his ride.
"I-I think so…" Habakiri said, feeling slight dizzy. "What is this bike?"
"The Dandelion bike. Neat, huh?" Yami Gaim said, looking at Habakiri. "But what you did was really crazy…" he added.
"Sorry, I am still new to this." Habakiri said before seeing the Suzaku Inves coming back at them, "Watch out!"
"What- Whoa!" Yami Gaim exclaimed before turning his hover bike aside to dodge the charge of the phoenix Inves.
"We need to stop that thing quick!" Habakiri said.
"Hang on tight!" Yami Gaim said before he accelerated his hover bike immediately after the Inves. "This is our stage now!"
Habakiri soon pushed down her Cutting Blade immediately.
"SOIYA! BLUEBERRY SPARKING!"
Habakiri jumps into the air before taking her Katana together as her body glowing in blue aura made her looks like a dragon before striking the Inves from the side immediately as a massive blue wound appears on the Inves's body…
"SOIYA! BLACK ORANGE SPARKING!"
Yami Gaim jump off of his bike before delivering a powerful Rider Kick direct above the Suzaku Inves and went through it immediately before landing on the ground.
The Inves screamed before exploded with the blueberry and black orange colors.
"We did it!" Yami Gaim said before noticed Habakiri behind the bushes. "Are you alright?"
Ayano already unscrew her helmet before said weakly, "I am fine…" She soon have to throws up in the bushes.
"I didn't know you have motion sickness…" Yami Gaim sweatdropped.
(Back with Zangetsu)
"You're too predictable, Cornelia." Zangetsu comment as the Club blocked the attack of the one armed Knightframe.
Soon the Club delivered a powerful slash and slice down the remaining arm of Cornelia's Knightframe immediately.
"I call this finished, Cornelia…" Zangetsu said before the Club moved his VARIS blade at the armless Knightframe.
"Zangetsu, Lancelot is coming at you!" Baron's voice from the radio caused the Club to turn around and protecting himself from the attack of Lancelot's VARIS as he was being pushed back further from Cornelia.
"Hang on, I will-" Baron said but the white Rider interrupted her immediately.
"Baron, I will take care of Lancelot. You head back with others immediately…!" Zangetsu said, gritting his teethes at Lancelot who piloted by his longtime friend.
We may be friends, doesn't mean I won't put your Knightframe out of commission for good! Zangetsu thought with serious.
The Lancelot charged forward with his VARIS blade, but the Club dodge before grabbing the white Knightframe's other arm as he send him flying backward.
"Time to send you packing!" Club growl.
But the Lancelot got up immediately before ran at the Club. The Club throws his Melon Defender at the Lancelot who swings it aside with the MVS blade before advancing toward Club and deliver a scar toward Club's face before Club punched the Lancelot's face.
But the Lancelot dodged and kicked Club away and charged in with its MVS when Zangetsu got his bearing, he sees the Lancelot's MVS through something else… Code.
"Code!? What the hell are you doing here!?" Zangetsu looks surprised at Code.
"I won't let this man interfered with our contract!" Code said. Suzaku was shocked that he killed someone who just protected Zangetsu and removed his MVS.
Code's armor vanished to revealed C.C. with a damaged Sengoku Driver. C.C. limped towards the Lancelot's leg and touched it.
Zangetsu seemed confused until he noticed the Lancelot wasn't doing anything.
He got out of the Club and went towards C.C.
"C.C.! We have to get you out of here!" Zangetsu said as he grabbed C.C.'s shoulder. Soon he began to witness many images, most of which that he couldn't understand but he saw his mother and Genbu Kururugi, Suzaku's father. It wasn't until C.C. collapsed into Zangetsu's arms and the Lancelot started swinging its sword like a maniac.
Zangetsu carried C.C. into the cockpit of his Club and decided to leave.
Lelouch without his helmet, stopped at a nearby cave to check on C.C.'s wound. While checking on her, he looked at the damaged Sengoku Driver which still contact the Lime Lockseed. He pulled it out and continued checking on the lime hair immortal. He placed a spare jacket on her.
This girl… she can't be human. She recovers from wounds that are way beyond normal. She was shot in the head in Shinjuku and yet… Clovis confined her for his project Code-R…. Lelouch thought as he checked on her temperature and looked at the tissue with her blood on it.
Her vital signs are at human levels. But I should analyze a blood sample and photograph the wounds… Lelouch thought before he noticed C.C. muttered something and Lelouch listened in.
"What?"
"…." Lelouch looked at her with a surprised face, "You finally called me… by my real name." C.C. said in her sleep.
I see… so that is what C.C. stands for… Lelouch thought and he soon threw the tissue into the water.
A few minutes later, C.C. woke up.
"I removed the shrapnel and cleaned the wound." Lelouch said with his back facing C.C.
"That wasn't necessary."
"Apparently not." Lelouch answered.
"There was no point in protecting me at all. Your pride always get in the way of the most ridiculous moment." Then Lelouch faced her with a smirk on his face.
"But then I learned something from it… Cera." C.C. had a surprised face on. "That's your real name, isn't it?" she then have an expression that was mixed with anger and somewhat annoyed.
"You have a bad habit of eavesdropping."
"Well, it's a good name. A lot more human than C.C." Lelouch said as he faced away again.
"That's a joke. As if I want to be more human. After all, I-I…" Lelouch looked back at her.
"Hm?"
"I've forgotten everything. Every single thing. So what's the use of it?" C.C. asked, sorrowfully. "A name? But why?" C.C. then shed a couple of tears.
Lelouch turned and faced her completely.
"It's a good time to say this. Yes, you saved me today." Lelouch admitted even though he still a little skeptical about her real motive, but that doesn't mean he doesn't acknowledge what C.C. did for him. C.C. looked at him. "You did that before and later gave me Geass. That's why… I'll only say this once." Lelouch then turned away. "Thank you."
C.C. looked at him with a completely surprised expression with some tears still in her eyes.
"No one's ever… thank me before." She said as she brought her jacket against her face and then looked at Lelouch. "Well then, can you show your appreciation?" Lelouch faced C.C. "Say it again. Like you did before."
"You mean the name?"
"Just this once, with tenderness, like you cherish it with your heart." C.C. requested.
"Very well then." C.C. looked anticipated as he said her real name.
"Cera." Lelouch said. "How was that?"
"It was bad. It was completely bad. It wasn't tender, there was no honesty or sympathy in it. You spoke it oddly and worse of all, it was cold." C.C. complained.
"You're a picky girl." Lelouch said with a smile.
A few second have passed before C.C. looks at the damaged Sengoku Driver and looks at Lelouch who picks up his helmet.
"Don't worry about it, I can always repair it." He said. "C.C., I don't know why the snow is white but I think it's beautiful. I don't hate it." He added. C.C. looked at him with a somewhat surprised expression.
"I see…"
Suddenly Ayano came into the cave after using her Burai to track Lelouch's signal.
"Lelouch, are you okay-?"
Ayano saw Lelouch with CC, who had nothing but Lelouch's hooded jacket to cover her.
"What happened?" Ayano asked.
"It a long story, Ayano." Lelouch said before placing his helmet back on his head. "What happened to Cornelia?"
"Some of her forces take her away before I arrived." Ayano said with a down expression.
Zangetsu sighed. "It's alright, Ayano." Zangetsu assured. "The good thing is we came out alive today."
Euphemia couldn't believe what she just witness as the reports of the fallen forces continued to increasing.
Just as Zangetsu predicted… we've lost almost half our combat strength in that first assault… Euphemia thought as she looks at the dark trail on the map screen that represented the mudflow, He predicated exactly what civilian areas would be affected…
"This is Lord Jeremiah, reporting in." came a voice over the speakers, the pink haired princess and sub-viceroy looking up to find the disgraced former Margrave onscreen. "Evacuation of civilian areas successful, your highness."
"Well done, Lord Jeremiah." Euphemia smiled gratefully up at the man that had, in his own way, tried to bring justice to Clovis's murder, and if her sister's reports were accurate, may have been covering up a scandal that her sibling had created. "Did you and your men suffer any harm?"
"Lord Kewell attempted to assault Lord Jeremiah." Villetta Nu reported. "Lord Jeremiah apprehended him, but…"
"He escaped into the woods." Jeremiah sighed, the disgraced former margrave appearing stricken at the words, down cast as he shook his head, "He could very well have been caught up in the mudflow."
"We'll send a search team to investigate afterward." Euphemia offered, "If he is still alive, he'll face a military tribunal for assaulting an officer."
"With all due respect your Highness, I am no longer an officer." Jeremiah informed her. Villetta, who'd been silent this entire time, flinched slightly, a look of concern on her face as she regarded her friend and commanding officer.
"I'll have a word with my sister… I mean the Viceroy." Euphemia assured the former Margrave, smiling at the green haired noble as she spoke, her hands held before her, "Such service should not be ignored."
"Thank you, milady." Jeremiah bowed, his features reverent and humbled as he held one gloved hand over his breast, a stunned Villetta blinking, before doing the same on her own end, "I will not let you down."

"That's the way, Mao!"
"Be careful, Mao!"
"I love you, Mao!"
"Mao!"
"Just hold on, C.C…" The foreign man said, uttering the name with tenderness and reverence. His sunglasses fell from his face slightly, revealing a deranged look in his orbs, revealing the sigils of Geass.
Mao couldn't help but giggle in delight, he got a feeling that he will be reunited with his beloved once again.
"Soon… soon, we can be together! Forever!" Mao said before playing with a Lockseed have picture of cherry with a clear casing and marked E.L.S.-02.
"CHERRY ENERGY!"
