Ch24: The Illegitimate Heir!
It was late at night in the Lamperouge resident as Lelouch just finished reading a bedtime story for Nunnally.
"Big brother… do you think that Euphy and Suzaku are alright?" Nunnally asked with a worried tone.
"I'm sure they'll be found. You know that Nelly will searched high and low for them." Lelouch answered with an assured tone. There is still no words about whether or not Suzaku is find after what happens to Euphemia.
"Yeah... you're probably right. Anyway, good night… big brother." Nunnally said before going fast into sleep.
Lelouch soon slowly walk out of her room and gently close the door. He went into his room and closed his door.
The former prince soon felt a vibration from his cellphone and saw Jeremiah's caller ID before answered it.
"Jeremiah, is something the matter?" Lelouch asked.
"I have the result of the DNA test that you asks me to investigate." Jeremiah said. "Their DNA… really matched." He answered quietly. But Lelouch can be certain that Jeremiah must feel the same way about the shocking discovery as well.
"I see…" Lelouch think back to the conversation in the submarine.
(Flashback- A week ago)
"Rai isn't my real name… my original name is Wesley eu Britannia, son of… Odysseus eu Britannia and Shizuka Kururugi." Rai answered, making everyone looks shocked at him.
Lelouch's eyes went wide when hearing the name of Rai's real father. "O-Odysseus is your father!?" he exclaimed disbelief.
It wasn't just him who is flipped by the information as the members of Black Knights were uttered speechless.
"SAY WHAT!?"
"H-He is a prince too!?"
"What the hell!?" Kallen exclaimed in shock.
(Present)
Lelouch didn't want to believe this. He always know that Rai is someone that he have to keep an eye since he fall unconscious in front of Ashford Academy. Rai was made a member of Black Knights and he became a Rider of his choice. However, Lelouch wasn't expect that Rai did recovered his identity and keep hiding from them until now. Rai is the child of the brother who Lelouch least expected. The son of Odysseus eu Britannia. Hence, Lelouch wasn't sure what to think until he decide to entrust Jeremiah to confirm the truth than being fooled again. But after Jeremiah confirmed it real, Lelouch was reeling from the idea that he had a nephew from his older half-brother, the First Prince of Britannia. He wasn't sure what to make of this.
Not to mention how Nunnally will feel about this? She says that she didn't want to be an early aunt while still being in school.
"Send me the result… I will handle the rest from here." Lelouch said.
(Play GET MY FUTURE!)
(Instrument) The song begins with a full view of ruin building in Japan before the scene started with a ruined building with Zangetsu standing watching over the Tokyo settlement when the sun is set before the entire scene was replaced with the title.
Kodoku ni yureteru Emotion
The scene began with Lelouch yawning as he lying on the school yard as he thought about his past before Ayano appeared behind him which caused a scene of him being chased by Ayano around.
Itsu demo jidai no hadō ni nomikomarete
Unknown to them, Orpheus was chuckled at the scene with amusing before he and Akito spotted each other. The two stares at each other before they went on their separated paths with their Lockseeds in their hands.
Samayotteta setsunai kokoro
In his room, Rai holds tightly on the Orange Lockseed tightly as a memories of young girl flash in his mind. Soon the screen turns toward Gaim and he holds tightly on his Daidaimaru while looking at the viewers.
Just One Nation kizanderu I.D.
The scene changes to Helheim forest and shows Jam with dark aura.
Doko e mo ikenai jibun ga
Suddenly the scene changes to Japan starts being covered by Helheim forest and Inves began their invasion. This cause many civilian began to start run for their life, though Britannian soldiers try to fight against Inves, but they soon got overwhelm by the number of the creatures of in the forest.
Modokashikute kuyashikatta
Soon the scene changes to the Black Knight headquarter as the operative members monitor event going on.
Sore demo yume ni miteta
As the Inves got closed to them, Lelouch and his fellow Riders got out their Drivers. They soon locked their Lockseeds into their Drivers before they transformed and charge into battle.
Haruka tōku taiyō no shizumu oto ga suru
The Lancelot Club is seen race across the field while taking out large Inves and Britannia Knightframes at the same. Soon the scene focused on Zangetsu running at incredible speed slashing through Britannian soldiers and Inves alike while explosions occur around him.
Ano basho e yukō Sekai no hate made
Suddenly he becomes Zangetsu-Shin before getting out his Sonic Arrow and deliver a powerful slash to destroy an unknown Knightframe.
Dare yori tsuyoku naritai Jibun rashiku aru tame Dare ni mo yuzurenai Passion Ashita wo ikiru tame
Habakiri did a spin slash with her dual katanas; Ryugen firing several shots with his gun; Baron spins her Banaspear and thrust it forward; Kurokage spins his weapon; Knuckle pounced his Kurumi Bombers together.
GET MY FUTURE shinjitai michi wo Hitasura hashireba ii Mirai wo kirihiraku Action Tatakau yūki wo Kono mune ni daite
Soon a Britannia airship dropped bombs on the city and caused the Riders to struggle in pain until Zangetsu-Shin shows up and destroyed it with his Finisher. The scene changes when Zangetsu-Shin and Jam spotted each other before they clashed with each other as sparks flying everywhere.
To Be Free
The scene changes to Lelouch and Ayano were walking together, then they turned around facing the screen, then it zooms out revealing Rai, Kallen, Nunnally, Orpheus and Akito along with several members of Black Knights.
(Next day)
Ayano is looking at the DNA result that Lelouch shows to her when they were alone in Lelouch's garage. She let out a chuckled before looking at Lelouch.
"Hehe… I never thought the day that you would becoming an uncle, Lelouch." Ayano mused at Lelouch who seems to stare off into space with a blank expression.
"Becoming someone's uncle is the last thing on my list…" Lelouch grumbled annoyed.
"But still… I never expected he will be related to the Mediocre Prince. I mean Schneizel could've been his father." Ayano pointed out.
This made Lelouch chuckled at the thought. "If that work… but no women ever caught Schneizel's attention as far I remember, there was a betting table in the royal court that he could homosexual." He remarked.
This made Ayano laughed at the thought of the Second Prince being homosexual.
"So what are you going to do about your nephew?" Ayano asked.
"I'm not sure… but I am not really to call him my nephew or family. It still feeling wrong for some reason." Lelouch answered with deadpanned expression.
"I know you might resent the rest of your half-siblings… maybe you should least give Rai a chance." Ayano suggested. After all, Rai had done anything wrong to them up to the point of joining the Black Knights.
"True… Rai has no reason to be part of my grudge against them, but it will be still long before I even consider accepted him as family." Lelouch sighed tired. "But how are your friends doing?" Lelouch asked, want to know how Ayano's friends are doing.
Ayano soon calm down. "They still had not shown any signs of waking up… but the doctors did find some devices in their bodies that could be self-destructive devices." She replied.
"I remembered that they went up against the Overlord before they were nearly fried. The shock might go to the core of their bodies and struck the devices." Lelouch said. "Do you think they will wake up?" he asked.
"I hope… no, I think they will. They're tougher than this." Ayano said. "I'm going to kick them in the asses after they regain consciousness."
"Huh? Since when did we get back here?" A familiar voice asked as this caught their attention to a certain Lockseed on a table.
"I was wondering when you awaken, Club." Lelouch said. "You were completely out of consciousness through the mission."
"I was?" The sentinel Knightmare Lockseed asked.
"What is the last thing you recall?" Ayano asked curiously.
"We were running from the blast… but I felt something interfering with my system when the ejection was on." Club answered vaguely.
"Just like what happens to others…" Lelouch muttered.
"What happened to you guys?" Club asked.
"Well, we were sendoff straight to Helheim which we don't remember there were any Crack." Ayano explains.
"No Cracks? That is illogical. The only way is through Crack." Club said.
"Lelouch, what do you think?" Ayano asked as the raven haired young man remained quiet.
"Something tells me that whatever caused us to be in Helheim was not a simple coincidence… it like something forced us there." Lelouch said.
"How is that even possible?" Ayano asked, disbelief.
"I can't prove it yet but I'm going to get to bottom of this," Lelouch said. He thinks about his half-sister who was forced there by Demushu. 'That depends on what happened to Euphie… she got wrapped like us and transported as well.' He thought.
"What am I going to do about you?" Orpheus pondered as he looking at the strange relic with the Geass like symbol on it.
After the mission on Kamine Island, Orpheus try to figure out the mystery behind the relic's strange power. He can be certain that there is something valuable about it since it has the Geass insignia on it. So far… he didn't have any luck in discovering what in the world exactly this supposed to do. He hopes that he can use its ability to teleportation but he can't seem to get it working except ending up with bruises himself for few times.
Not to mention that it not made of minerals that others don't recognize… Orpheus thought. He went to check with some historian colleagues that he knows. But they all come up with the same respond of no answer to the grape theme Rider's dismay.
"Maybe you should try to hold it while using Geass?" Draco asked as his Lockseed was sitting on the table next to him.
"I don't know… my Geass is only for changing my appearance." Orpheus replied while looking at the strange relic. "Rai didn't have his Geass on due to wearing his armor." He pointed out.
"At least, you should try it than mopping around…" Draco complain as Orpheus let out a sighed.
"Fine… fine, I will give it a try." Orpheus said before taking up the relic and activated his Geass. His appearance changed that of Lelouch immediately.
"See, nothing-" Before 'Lelouch' can even finish his sentence, he noticed the geass symbol on it glows and show a bright light on him.
"Huh?" Orpheus regains his vision and he finds himself back in his original form already. "Why did my Geass canceled on its own?" The young man usually aware whenever his Geass turns off.
"And it hadn't passed five minutes…" Draco added. "Something tells me that the responsibility of the relic."
"It hard to believe this what it can do…." Orpheus said, still shocked. He thought that it would be impossible to canceled Geass effects that implant by someone. But he is also uncertain that if it really can truly cancel out Geass effects with his own.
Rai wasn't sure what to expect as he entered the private room of Black Knights' hideout since the raven hair teen instructed him to come there by himself. Though he wasn't sure if he was really confident after revealing the truth about his heritage. The other members of Black Knights were avoiding him by saying that they have other plans. But Rai have a feeling that his revealed heritage might be too much for their mind.
There he saw Lelouch who seem to be looking over something before the raven hair teen noticed his presence. Both teen stares at each other and wasn't sure what to say.
"Rai…" Lelouch said.
"Lelouch…" Rai began, "You says that you want to see me… right?"
"Yeah… It's about what you say and I tried to find out if it true," Lelouch said. "It… It looks you really telling the truth." He said, placing the file on the table.
Rai take the file and looks at result before looking back at Lelouch. "So...you really my father's half-brother?" He asked, hesitated.
Lelouch nodded.
"Which means I'm also your... uncle in a sense." He answered.
"I kinda of suspicious about you and Nunnally's connection... but I didn't want to believe this." Rai admit. "My uncle is the same age as me."
"Trust me, my...I mean, our family has weird relationships." Lelouch said. He knows the feeling of having hundreds of half-siblings that he can't remember half of their names.
"So...should I call you Uncle when we're alone or...?"
"Just stay with Lelouch or Zangetsu when we at work." Lelouch said. Though he still not used to the idea of being Rai's half-uncle yet.
"I see..." Rai said, looking a bit depressed.
"Rai... I'm sorry-"
"No, it's fine. I mean... that you would never expect us having this weird relationship." Rai assured to his teenage uncle. "Besides it… will make others think you showing favoritism." He added.
"Y-Yeah..." 'At least… Rai make a good point about that.' Lelouch mentally added.
"So...who else knows your real identity?" Rai asked.
Lelouch soon told Rai about those he trusts, though Mao knows only through his Geass.
"I see..." Rai muttered. "I'm surprised that you weren't discovered by Clovis."
"Yeah... I know, we were under his nose for a long time." Lelouch said. "But I am surprised that your existence never made back in Capital, then again, you will have a big target mark on your back if that happens."
It makes sense since Odysseus is the Crown Prince and any of his children will consider the heir of the throne. The news will cause a shift into battle for the Crown like the Blood Emblem from a long time ago.
"And considering how Japanese are viewed now...it would be quite the scandal for my father," Rai recalled. "Me and my younger sister Stella… are proofs of that. That is why my father decided to keep us hiding along with our mother in another nation due to Kururugi family banished her for having an affair with a Britannia Prince. Father always come in disguise and alone whenever he comes back to us." He said quietly.
"I see… that is something I can't imagine Odysseus do." Lelouch said. "But your life… it didn't last happily, right?"
Rai nodded as he thinks back to when it was started.
"One night, our home was attacked and ransacked… father tried to get us out of there, but he alone couldn't do anything as our mother was murdered after trying to fend off against the intruders. I tried my best to get Stella out of there… she was the only thing I have left but we were caught and taken to a very scary place where they experiment on children." He recalled. "There was one who taken interested in me and my sister... he was called Jam."
Lelouch shows a grim expression upon hearing the name of Jam.
"That is when we began our life as masked soldiers under his commands since there weren't any options for us to escape from that man." Rai said, take out his Sengoku Driver. "It was a hard life and the only way for us to live despite years went passed by. I promised myself that I will find a way to get us out of there. But it wasn't until things went too far… after what he did to Stella." He said with a bitter tone.
"What did he do…?" Lelouch asked.
"Jam was testing the Ringo Lockseed on her… but this one is different, its color is gold." Rai continued. "The power was too strong for Stella… and Stella lost control of that power before she dissolved into nothingness. That was the last straw for me…" he said as he still remembered Stella's disappearance in front of him.
(Flashback)
There were fires in the lab and the number of bodies were either wound or dead. Wesley was able to get Stella away from the Lockseed despite it hurt him, but he doesn't cared as his sister was barely conscious.
"Stella! Stella! Please stay with me!" Wesley pleaded desperation.
But he also noticed that his sister's body began to dissolve into gold dusts.
"Big brother… I'm sorry…" Stella whispered with tears rolling down her eyes.
"It's not all right…" Wesley said. "Please stay with me…"
"Just promised me… that you'll be strong, big brother…" Stella said before closing her eyes and dissolved in his arm. This made Wesley's eyes wide in shock.
"STELLA!"
"So she failed…" Jams said.
"You…" Wesley growls menacingly as his Geass glowing with red radiation.
(Present)
Lelouch can't help feeling sorry for Rai's losses since it identical to what happened to him. If someone who tried to do something like that to Nunnally, he won't forgive them for what happens either.
"That is right… and I was sealed straight on Kamine Island." Rai said.
"Sealed on that island?! How is that supposed to work?" Lelouch asked, surprised. It seems that Kamine Island needs to be further investigated later.
"I don't know… I'm not even sure how I was freed from there either." Rai said. "When you send us there, I was able to remember that place was where I was sealed off."
"However, your father… Odysseus is still alive and that he acts as nothing happened." Lelouch said. "You and I know what that would mean." He said.
"There is no doubt… the father I know is gone… because of Geass." Rai said with a sad tone. It makes sense to Rai that there is a chance his own father forget everything about him, Stella, and his mother.
Lelouch soon placed his hand on Rai's shoulder and made Rai looks at him. "Rai, I promised that I will do what I can do about your father…" He said.
"But why? I know that you resent your half-siblings for not standing up for you and Nunnally. My father is one of them." Rai said, confused. Lelouch won't get anything from helping his least favorite half-siblings.
"I won't deny that…" Lelouch began. "The father you know… that Odysseus is someone I never know. But don't you want to know… if your father still loved you?" he asked.
"I do…" Rai confessed hesitated. "I still missed him…"
"That is why you need another reason to live beside your revenge. Because if you live solo for your revenge, I can't let you continued onward as a member of Black Knights or a Kamen Rider. But most important… would your mother and sister want you live for that empty purpose?" Lelouch pointed out.
"But doesn't that same goes for you?" Rai asked.
"But the only difference is that I won't let it cost me of what matters to me like others... I make my choices and learn to be better than them." Lelouch said.
"Thank you, Unc— I mean sir." Rai feels slightly embarrassed when he accidentally calling Lelouch 'Uncle' again. "Sorry."
"… Just remember not to call me that again." Lelouch sighed before watching Rai left the room while the air is still awkward for them.
In the Vicerory's Palace in Area 11, Cornelia has an enraged expression upon her face after what Daltron told her.
"Are you certain of this?" Cornelia asked angry.
"One of squadrons discovered what looks like part of Euphemia's dress and Kururugi jacket. It shows that they were on the island." Daltron said.
"But they can't find them?!" Cornelia growl as her overprotective sibling instinct intensified. She wants to go on that island and find her sister and bring her back to the palace.
"I'm afraid not…" Daltron said.
"What about Zangetsu and the Black Knights?!" Cornelia growls.
"Unfortunately, they hadn't shown themselves after they stolen one of Camelot's new project: Gawain." Daltron answered.
The first thing that Euphemia see is white ceiling when she wakes up for quite some time. Where in the world is she? She tried to get herself up but it wasn't long until she felt pain on her arm. She looks at the source of the pain and saw what looks like a metallic case over her arm. It felt really hot for some reason…
"What in the world…?" She wondered confused before a voice interrupted her thought.
"I see that you're awake, Euphemia." A familiar voice said as the pink princess turns around and saw her savior in presence.
Zangetsu-Shin is leaning against the wall while stares at her.
"Lelouch… is that really you?" Euphemia asked the White Rider.
Zangetsu-Shin just stares back at Euphemia and not giving any motion to show how he reacts.
"I had told anyone of this! But please! Please, I just want to know if it really you!" Euphemia pleaded desperation to see one person who she longed to see.
Zangetsu-Shin closed his Energy Lockseed as his form shimmering and revealed Lelouch himself before Euphemia. Lelouch shows a smile upon his face.
Euphemia responds with a happy expression to see her brother for the first time in eight years since he and Nunnally were forced to leave Pendragon. She was happy and was starting to tear up seeing her brother.
"It's been a long time… Euphie," Lelouch said softly. He didn't need to worry about anyone overheard them since he made this room soundproof and the door is locked.
"Oh Lelouch," Euphemia said happily with tears, streaming from her eyes, "I'm so happy to see you again."
She soon got up and went to hug him, surprising Lelouch. "Lelouch, it really is you. Lelouch, my beloved brother! I'm so glad… I'm so glad! I missed you so much!"
Lelouch was still smiling and hugged Euphemia back.
"Yeah, I missed you too." He said.
It wasn't long until the two siblings calm down as Euphemia sat on the bed while Lelouch sat on a chair not far from her.
"Where am I exactly…?" she asked.
"Somewhere safe." Lelouch answered.
"W-Was Suzaku alright…?" She asked bluntly.
"Hadn't heard about what happens to him. But no doubt that he is alright." Lelouch lied. He might hate doing this to Euphemia… but it might be better off since Suzaku's fate is unknown to him as well.
"There is something I want to ask you," Lelouch began. "Do you remember where you ended up after that strange blast?" he asked.
"I think Suzaku says that it was… Kamine Island." Euphemia recalled. "Did you end up there as well?" she asked.
"We end up somewhere far from that island." Lelouch answered half-truthfully. But it's far from the truth since he and his allies end up in Helheim instead. But this made him feel confused at why they were there instead of Kamine Island in the first place?
"What were you guys doing before the monster showed up?" he asked.
"We were sleeping before I was dragged into a strange place by the red monster… and Suzaku… he got hurt when trying to following me in," Euphemia recalled sadly.
So Suzaku wasn't trapped in Helheim… but still, on Kamine Island, Lelouch thought. It's a good thing since Suzaku won't end up being drawn to the fruit of Helheim and turned into an Inves. But it still unknown about what befalls Suzaku and made Lelouch feel concerned about it.
"When did you figure out my identity?" Lelouch decided to change the topic of the discussion.
"It was back at the hotel jacking," Euphemia said.
"I see… I had wondered if I had said too much back then," Lelouch said, "it seems that I did. How embarrassing…"
"With the things, you said to me back then, I couldn't think of anyone but you." Euphemia responds, "It was just so… well, you."
"Heh, I see." Lelouch replied. "I'm surprised that you didn't tell anyone. Not even Cornelia or Nonette for that matter." Though he already knows that Nonette might suspect Euphemia figuring out his identity but never confront her.
"Even if I had told our sister, she would have never believed it." Euphemia said, "She would never believe that you would fight against Britannia or the fact that you wouldn't want to be found. Cornelia just doesn't understand."
"Sadly, I agree…" Lelouch said with a frown. "Cornelia has proven that time and time again."
Euphemia soon has a downcast expression. "Nunnally…" she began, "how is she?"
"She is alright," Lelouch answered truthfully.
"Lelouch… is it true that you don't want to go back because you and Nunnally be discriminated by others again?" Euphemia asked, remembered the theory by Jeremiah.
"Yes. That is why we never return." Lelouch answered. "But it also to protect Nunnally from father who is still going to used her for political marriage with that ally from another country." He added.
"I'm sorry…" Euphemia said, looking heartbroken. "And you still hated us for what happened…"
Lelouch thought about the night when he found his mother dead and Nunnally was under her, looking traumatized in the Aries Villa.
"It true I still have hatred for most of them and… father. For the one who responsible for what happened to mother." Lelouch answered. "but Euphie, you're not one of them."
"I see…" Euphemia said with a small smile. "I'm happy to hear that."
In the Kyoto hideout, Baron is currently in a sparring match with someone who might be out of her level. The one who she is sparing was someone who needs more time to be used with his Rider armor.
Baron was breathing tiredly before her opponent firing arrows at her and she barely has any time to dodge from them.
"Come, Kozuki… is this all you got?" Kensei asked. Yes, this was none other than the Genesis Rider form that Todoh Kyoshiro donned.
It looks like the situation might leave Baron with no opinions. First, Todoh is a fierce warrior and the only few who ever win close against Britannia. Second, the power of Genesis Rider made him more fearsome than before.
There is a thought about the Genesis Driver and Cherry Energy Lockseed that Lelouch give to her. But Baron didn't want to use that. It will only prove that Lelouch still has held on her mentality.
"Don't underestimate me…" Baron said before getting out her Suika Lockseed. 'There are other ways to win than upgrades…' she thought.
"SUIKA!"
Soon the crack above her was opened and revealed the Suika Arms. Baron removed her Banana Lockseed and replaced it with the Suika Lockseed before pressing down on her Cutting Blade.
"COME ON!"
Soon the Suika Arms land on Baron after Kensei firing his arrows at her.
"SUIKA ARMS! ODAMA BIG BANG!"
It wasn't long until Baron donned the Suika Arms in its Yoro Mode and armed with a watermelon like a spear.
Baron swings her Suika Spear at Kensei as the Genesis Rider blocked few before rolling across the floor to avoiding further attacks from Baron.
"Is that all you have to offered, Kozuki?" Kensei asked to the girl in watermelon like mecha.
"There is more…" Baron responds before pressing down on her Cutting Blade twice.
"COME ON! SUIKA AU LAIT!"
The Suika Spear glowing intensely as Baron soon thrusting her weapon at Kensei. But Kensei activated his wing mode and flew away from the blows.
"SODA~! BLACKBERRY ENERGY SQUASH!"
Kensei soon comes back and Baron swings her Suika Spear to counter the blows from his Sonic Arrow. But it wasn't until Kensei dodging one of her blow and advancing toward her before swings his Sonic Arrow at the Suika Arm. This result an explosion as Baron was seen rolling across the floor and her transformation was undo.
Kallen let out some cough before seeing Kensei approached her.
"Nice sparring with you, Kozuki." Todoh said after undoing his transformation and offered his hand.
"Yeah…" Kallen said before taking his hand and got up.
Meanwhile Lelouch and Euphemia still conversing with each other.
"There's one thing I want to ask you, Euphie." Lelouch said.
"Yes?" Euphemia replied.
"Do you know about anything on my mother's death?" Lelouch asked.
"Sorry… I don't know." Euphemia apologized. "My sister wasn't able to learn anything and she investigated it intently. But she didn't find anything."
"I see…" Lelouch said, "Thanks for telling me." 'But I know that Cornelia is still in the middle of what happens to my mother. Jeremiah says that she was the one who call off the guards and left mother alone with her murder.' Lelouch thought to himself.
"Now can I ask you something, Lelouch?" Euphemia asked.
"Yes?" Lelouch replied.
"How do you know about what happened to Suzaku in the matter of his father?" Euphemia asked.
"You can say that I met him in the past since we were sheltered by them before we were separated. As for how I find out, it was something that never been spoken to anyone." Lelouch answered. He has a feeling that he will come across this conversation soon.
"Why did you have to tell everyone about what Suzaku did? Don't you know that Suzaku has suffered enough after what you did from his guilty!? Can't you think of what to live under his shoes if you were stuck in his position?" Euphemia asked, wanting to know what on his mind when doing this.
Lelouch sighed. "Because Euphie, the people of Japan have a right to know exactly the reason why their government surrendered and why they end up in the horrible lifestyle that is Being a Number. A Slave of Britannia with nothing but death and despair in the future. And as for what I think Suzaku has suffered enough for what he did? Don't make me laugh," he answered nonchalantly, "I know the guilt of killing someone better than he ever would. As I said before, 'The only ones with the right to be killed are those prepared to be killed.' You think I haven't shed blood in my rebellion? Do you think I don't know what it's like to have the faces of those I've killed look back to me in my nightmares? And as for the last one. The biggest difference between me and him, is that he did his actions in a fit of childish temper, but not once has he learned from the death he caused. I know my sins and my crime, and I fully expect to atone for them once I die."
Euphemia can't help looks sad at her brother. "You choose the bloodier and faster path than that of Suzaku. Suzaku's path is less bloody... even though it will take longer to change Britannia."
"Bloodier? Faster Path? Suzaku's less bloody and even longer path?" Lelouch laughed. "Don't make me laugh, Euphie! The only difference between my path and his is that I fight and kill those prepared to be killed. He's an Honorary Britannian in service of the Military." He continued. "Our military infamous throughout the world for gunning civilians without a second thought. Do you honestly think an outsider like Suzaku will have any effect on the Imperial System? Our damned father made it so that the only that can change anything is him and him alone. He won't care, he wouldn't raise a finger to change anything. If that was the case, then why was my mother's murder case closed?! Why was I sent off to Japan with a still recovering Nunnally? Why would any decent parent do that?! I will tell you why it's because the Emperor is the worst kind of parent there is!" He stated bluntly.
Euphemia can't help but look somewhat afraid of Lelouch. She can see the fire in his eyes. But there is still a part of her held on hope to convince her brother to give up on his rebellion and work with them.
"Then how about work with us?" Euphemia asked, putting up a brave front to her brother. "You could've worked with us. Even if it was not it looks like. But it will lead to the right path. Despite being under the Empire, the people would get the chance to regain what they lost. Freedom, individuality, rights. Everyone is given a chance. If we make this work, could inspire the other Numbers to seek the same solution."
"Work with you? The enemy of my rebellion? Have you forgotten how many lives Britannia destroyed?! Have you forgotten how many so-called 'Numbers' have given up on that path and seek change through power?" Lelouch asked, "In an ideal world such a thing would not be necessary. But this isn't the ideal world, Euphie. Britannians are brainwashed from cradle to give to believe that all other people besides that of Britannians are equally inferior to them." He stated bluntly.
"But if giving them time, they could've change—" Euphemia said before Lelouch cuts her off.
"You think you can change the mindset of an ideal that has become firmly encroached for an entire generation? Do you think everyone that has influence wants to give the Numbers a chance? They don't!" Lelouch retorted angrily as this made Euphemia looks shocked. "Because they provide cheap, expendable resources to Britannia and that is something Britannia would never give up. We are parasites, Euphie! Plain and simple and if we don't have our Numbers then our nation will end up all the weaker for it. No... Britannia would sooner squash any chance of equality and declare it to be a rebellion before sweeping it under the carpet before changing anything." He finished with a finality tone.
"…" Euphemia didn't know what to say as she wasn't sure if there is anything to defend herself.
While Lelouch is taking a deep breath after finishing refuted with his sister who seems to be lost. But it wasn't long until both half-siblings heard a loud rumbling sound and Euphemia looks away in embarrassment.
"No doubt that you're hungry from what happened…" Lelouch said before getting up, "stay here. I will get you something to eat." He said before leaving for the door.
"Lelouch…" Euphemia began. "Does my sister… know I am here?" she asked.
"Not really…" Lelouch answered. The reason why he didn't since he want to hear from Euphemia about what happened.
"Can't you tell her for me?" Euphemia requested quietly.
"You know that she will have a heart attack, right?" Lelouch asked.
"It… better than not telling her especially knowing she will think you be responsible for my death." Euphemia said meekly.
"I will do it sometime later." Lelouch answered before leaving through the door and locked it.
"How is she doing?" A familiar voice asked as Lelouch turns to see C.C.
"She regained her sense," Lelouch said before he and C.C. walk down the path.
"So how long are you going to keep her away from knowing about the disease?" C.C. asked. She knows about it from overhearing Ohgi when he was slow it down from the princess, but not truly cured it.
"It's better off that she didn't know," Lelouch answered. He wasn't surprised that she knows since the immortal woman seems to have her way of learning things.
"I can see her as a valuable hostage against your older sister… but how long do you think you can keep it that way, melon boy?" C.C. asked.
"That is why I keeping her as a political hostage, have some benefits for me." Lelouch replied calmly. Not only he has the chance to get close in on Cornelia and finally know what happened that day.
C.C. stared at him intensely. "Very well. It's not my business about what you do with her, Melon boy." she said. "But you know that either the disease will eventually kill her or you killed her to end her suffering." She added in a chilly tone.
"If it will go down that path, I will do it." Lelouch said grimly. But he knows that C.C.'s words have some truth about what could happen to Euphemia.
It true that the method I used to hold back the disease, but there might be a chance that it might bypass it… Lelouch thought to himself. Even after what he says about Euphie as an enemy, she is still a precious sister like Nunnally. But unlike Nunnally whose crippled is heal except for her sight, Euphie needs a different method of treatment for her unique illness.
After the encounter with Demushu and forcing him to flee, Lelouch realized it is time that he needs to step up his game.
(A week later)
There was a rainstorm in Kyushu as a slim man in a suit stood in front of Gung Ru Knightmare Frames and it was Atsushi Sawasaki who led the invasion and occupation of Kyushu.
"We hereby declare the resurrection of Japan as a lawful independent and sovereign nation!" Sawasaki declared.
Within the mobile base of Black Knights, many core members of Black Knights along with Kaguya were watching the news on the large television about Kyushu being occupied by forces led by Sawasaki. Among them was also Rai who watching the news.
Though main core members were shocked by Rai's true heritage, he is allowed to stay with the Black Knights as protection against the Second Prince who has eyes on him and reminded them that he was much as a victim like Lelouch. But the Chinese Invasion is more important matter right now.
"Atsushi Sawasaki, the leader of the forces that have occupied the Fukuoka Military Base was chief cabinet minister of the Kururugi Administration in the former nation of Japan," The male news reporter stated, "After the war, he fled to the Chinese Federation but it apparently made his move now in response to the recent civil unrest caused by Zangetsu and Black Knights. Whether the Black Knights have played a part in these unfolding events is still under investigation."
"We aren't with him!" Tamaki shouts irritated that they were being named as being involved in some way with Sawasaki.
"So he did show up…" Lelouch said with a darkened expression at the picture of Sawasaki. He still remembered what C.C. told him about Sawasaki's plan of taking their Rider armor and stuff.
"What do we do?" Rai asked as everyone turned toward Lelouch for the plans.
"Here is what we're going to do…" Lelouch said before revealing his plan to them.
In Kyushu, Cornelia's forces fight against the Chinese forces. But the rainstorm is heavy and giving her forces several disadvantages for the enemies to exploit. Missiles are shot and they struck and destroyed Portman Knightmare Frames that were underwater. The storm has prevented Britannian forces to strike against the forces led by Sawasaki.
In one of the landing crafts, Cornelia looks on with his knight Guilford as Cornelia was upset that she was not making any progress. Not to mention the absence of her younger sister made Cornelia angry than before.
"Your Highness, we're taking too many hits and losses," Guilford said, "with this weapon, we're unable to take up in the air. We need to delay the landing operation until the weather changes."
Cornelia clenched her teeth in response as she was frustrated.
Meanwhile in the base that was occupied by Sawasaki and General Tsao, both men were pleased with what was going on.
"It's fortunate that this storm hit," Tsao said, "we must take advantage and tighten our grip on Kyushu."
"You see, General Tsao. The heavens are on our side," Sawasaki said with confidence, "we're going to win this campaign with ease."
(Kyoto hideout)
Kaguya is with Kirihara and other members of House Kyoto in a meeting about Sawasaki.
"So he wasn't lying about Sawasaki being in Chinese Federation…" one of House Kyoto members said.
"Sawasaki is nothing more than a pawn to Chinese Federation. He wasn't here for the independence of Japan." Kaguya said.
"Yes, figured as much," Kirihara said.
"Sadly that's obvious," Osakabe said.
"Wait, isn't that a just a bit short-sighted on their part?" Munakata asked.
"It is," Kubouin said, "Sawasaki says he's fighting for Japan."
"It'll be no different with how things are now for Japan," Kaguya said, "Japan will be called by its proper name as well as its people. However, it is not true independent as Japan will be controlled by Chinese Federation."
"There you have it. This is no different from Britannia's occupation." Kirihara said.
"That's right. Sawasaki's independence of Japan will be nothing but a sham." Kaguya said.
"Okay… so what are the Black Knights going to do in this situation?" Yoshino asked.
"Are they just going to ignore him and letting Britannia deal with him?" Osakabe asked.
Kaguya looked at the old men and smile.
It wasn't long until the rain was clear in the sky above the Fukuoka Base. Though the Britannian forces were still having difficulties of breaking through due to the missiles released on them to prevent them from being able to get through.
But out of nowhere two large red laser beams coming from the sky and decimated every missile launchers.
Both Chinese Federation and Britannian force were surprised and shocked by what just happen.
"Something just appeared on the radar," One of the Chinese Federation soldiers said. "We got visual!"
Appeared in the sky was none other than Gawain, the stolen Knightmare with flight capability.
(In Viceroy Building)
Schneizel, Kanon, and Daltron were surprised by the appearance of Gawain on the screen.
"Sir, that is the…"
"Yes… the one that was stolen on Kamine Island…" Schneizel said.
Within Fukuoka Base, both Sawasaki and Tsao were surprised at the sight of Gawain.
"A Knightmare?" Sawasaki asked.
"But it's not being transported…" Tsao said, "It's just flying on its own."
Suddenly there was unexpected beep sound on the computers of Fukuoka base as a voice can be heard through the entire building itself.
"Hello Sawasaki… and the Chinese Federation…" A voice said as this made Sawasaki's eyes widen in shocked upon recognized the voice.
"Zangetsu!?" Sawasaki exclaimed. But how is it possible for him to breach into the base!?
"As in the leader of the Black Knights?" Tsao asked in disbelief.
Lloyd and Cecile were shocked in what they saw the Gawain did.
"I thought the Hadron Cannon was still in development," Cecile said.
"They were able to make the beams converge?" Lloyd spoke as he was not happy and still shocked, "But I want to be the one who perfects that system!"
(In Black Knights' submarine)
In one of the rooms, Rakshata and her science team were looking over the schematics of Gawain.
"Looks like integrating the Gefjun Disturber worked," Rakshata said, "but that Float System… is still quite advance. Of course, this is the concludes ends that another Earl of Pudding's work. Oh, how distasteful."
"Did you come to surrender, Zangetsu?" Sawasaki questioned through the communicator.
In the cockpit of Gawain was C.C. and Lelouch who donned his uniform but without the hooded on.
"Why should I surrender to a lowly puppet of Chinese Federation?" Lelouch asked.
"You don't understand… this is for the independence of Japan!" Sawasaki said with growing angry. "There is no way for someone like you able to win against the number of our force!"
"Who says that I come alone?" Lelouch asked.
Before the Gung Ru Knightmare Frames could shoot the Gawain, they were attacked in the back by two Knightmares from out of nowhere.
The first Knightmare was none other than Club armed with dual blades. The second one did share some semblance to the Lancelot but looks more like a samurai with blue body colors and orange armor and donned two swords in its hands.
The Knightmares slashed down the number of Gung Ru Knightmares that were in the area.
"I-Is that the Lancelot!?" Tsao asked, remembering the report about the white knightmare pilot by an Honorary Britannia.
"No… that is the Musha Kishi." Lelouch corrected before switching the communication. "Habakiri. Gaim. We are the main smash ball for the Chinese Federation into their defensive. Don't hold back." he said.
"Roger that!" Both Riders replied in the Knightmares.
Soon the three Knightmares began to take on their respective enemies in the air and land. Gawain is flying in the air and dodging various missiles coming from the Chinese airships before countered them with the laser beams.
"How dared they did that to my Lancelot!?" Lloyd exclaimed in shock after seeing the Musha Kishi on the footage.
"There is no doubt that was none other than our Lancelot…" Cecile said, looking at the appearance of Musha Kishi.
Even though it was rebuilt to something different, who in the world did they used for the pilot?
"This is our stage now!" Gaim announced as he prowling through the Gung Ru Knightmares and tanks with dual blades action.
Habakiri soon having the Club rolling over his shoulder to avoiding the incoming shots from the Gung Ru Knightmares and countered with respective shots in advance.
"There are a lot of them…" Habakiri comments at seeing the number of Gung Ru Knightmares. But this doesn't bother her as she made the Club moved forward and slashing them.
"SOIYA! BLUEBERRY AU LAIT!"
Soon the Club combined both of his blades and creating a blue tornado of flame at the incoming Gung Ru Knightmares.
"SOIYA! ORANGE SQUASH!"
Musha Kishi released vary of orange slash at the incoming Gung Ru Frames and caused explosion appearing in the area.
But that alone didn't faze the incoming Gung Ru Frames who are still trying their hardest to get to the two ground Knightmares.
But there are extra turret gunners that trying to shots them down, the two Riders managed to evade them before noticing the increased reinforcement of Gung Ru Knightframe tried to advancing on them with guns.
Both Gaim and Habakiri saw the predicament that they were in. Luckily for them, they have a trump card to get themselves out of this odd-number mess and continued with their plans.
"SUIKA!"
Soon materialized above both Knightframe were the Suika Arms before landing on them respectively at the same time.
"SOIYA! SUIKA ARMS! ODAMA BIG BANG!"
After they pressed down their Cutting Blades, the Suika Arms land onto them and covered them completely as the bullets were firing them down hard.
"Now it's our turn!" Both Riders shouts as they started smashing down the numbers of the Chinese Knightframes.
Seeing their comrades being crushed by the massive watermelon made the rest of Chinese soldiers in their giant frames to run away from the massive metal watermelon.
But they didn't get the chance when they were taking down by energy shots from more Black Knights' knightmare. And the one who was leading them was none other than Todoh in his Knightmare.
"We won't bow down to the Chinese Federation!" Todoh shouts through his communicator.
"Down with the Chinese Federation!" The other Black Knights' Knightframe roared as they're beating down the Gung Ru Knightframe.
Gawain is watching from below after taking down a few more airships coming at its way.
"Now it's time for us to break in…" Lelouch said with an amusing grin.
Back in the Fukuoka base, Sawasaki's eyes widen in shock as he is familiar with that voice. It was none other than Kyoshiro Todoh!
"Todoh! Why are you doing this!?" Sawasaki demands angry. "We're on the same side, working together for the sake of Japan!"
"Don't you want me to believe that, Sawasaki? I already heard you sell your soul to the Chinese Federation." Todoh replied. "You're doing nothing more than putting Japan under the Chinese Federation's control! That is something that we won't allow!"
"Your so-called 'independent of Japan'…. is nothing more than a sham!" Lelouch added as the Gawain blasting away more aircrafts. "Not to mention that you're after our armors… it making you our enemies!"
In the command office, Sawasaki clenched his teeth after hearing their words.
"What are you saying?!" Sawasaki exclaimed, "What I'm doing is for the sake of Japan being free again. It's not a lie, not a sham!"
"If you were a true Japanese then you would've stayed to help than fleeing like a coward to the Chinese Federation!" Gaim added serious.
"You have no right to lectured me!" Sawasaki argued angrily, "You don't know how it takes me to—"
Before Sawasaki even finished, he and his associated felt a huge tremor as Gawain, Musha Kishi, and Club made their way breaking through the entire base on their own.
(Viceroy Palace)
"So that is what you're playing, Zangetsu…" Schneizel said while watching the events on the television.
"What? Zangetsu and the Black Knights were able to penetrate into the Fukoka Base!?" Cornelia exclaimed in shock at the report.
She and her forces were too busy with the terrorist group of Kyushu and Knightframe pilot of Chinese Federation.
"Yes, they somehow managed to make it through with only few members!" Guilford said.
"But why in the world did Zangetsu do that? What did he have to gain?" Cornelia wondered.
In the Black Knights' submarine, the core members including Ohgi, Kallen, and Diethard are watching the battle of Kyushu led by Gawain and few members of Black Knights wrecking the Chinese Federation force.
"I see…" Diethard said, "The plan was for the Gawain, Club, and Musha Kishi to smash a hole into the force in the base for Todoh and others to ambush them by surprise."
"They're certainly doing well," Ohgi said.
"Yeah…" Kallen sighed.
"Kallen, is everything alright?" Inoue asked.
"Yeah… yeah… I'm fine," Kallen said. Though there is a small part of her wished that she was out there with them. "After what happened on the island and about Rai… I'm certain that he is still our comrade. But he won't be able to have a normal life again."
"Kallen…" Ohgi said.
"This isn't about winning in the case, right?" Kallen asked.
"That's right," Diethard said, "The Black Knights' participation is an undeniable truth. Of course, it will never be officially reported but the rumors will spread and everyone will know what happened here."
(Back in Fukuoka Base)
Sawasaki and Tsao decide to make their escape as they are riding in a roofless vehicle.
"What's wrong with going to another country and then waiting for the right opportunity to strike?" Sawasaki asked annoyed, "It's a legitimate strategy."
"We should regroup our forces in Kagoshima." Tsao suggested.
"Right, I appreciate your help," Sawasaki said.
They got to the helipad where there was a helicopter for them to ride in order to escape. The helicopter was suddenly struck by a missile from Musha Kishi in the Suika Arm and exploded. The driver of the car as well as Sawasaki, and Tsao were shocked as Gawain showed up along with Musha Kishi and Club.
"It's over Sawasaki," Lelouch said, "This is the end of the line for you."
"T-This can't be!" Sawasaki said still shocked, "They were actually able to take down all the forces in Kyushu with very little effort?"
In the Club, Habakiri looks pleased along with Gaim as the three Knightmares pointed their weapons at Sawasaki and Tsao.
"It's over," Lelouch said.
Sawasaki couldn't believe what was happening and all he could do was clenched his teeth in frustration and glared at the Gawain. Not long afterward, the Battle in Kyushu was over and government that Atsushi Sawasaki and planned for would not come to pass.
V.V. and Bloody Saver watching the news regarding the Battle in Kyushu.
"They're certainly not bad…" Bloody Saver comment.
"Enjoying the victory while you can… Lelouch, but revenge will be mine soon enough," V.V. said as his eyes glowing darkly.
He then took out a new Lockseed and looks at it. It resembled the Budou Lockseed… but the color schemes are much different.
"With this… all of your hopes and dreams will draw to an end… Lelouch," V.V. then pressed on the button.
"YOMOTSUHEGURI!"

I assured you that the finale for the first season will be a lot different from the canon especially when the Yomotsuheguri Lockseed coming into play.
