Episode 55: Marabounta

School was as school is Boring, Mrs Hertz had moved her class onto a new topic and on her desk sat a glass tank, inside the tank was a metre of dirt and some leaves and a small log, however there was something moving, it was a fair large colony of ants,
"Ants are social insects like termites or bees, a single individual is incapable of any personal initiative" said Mrs Hertz, Jeremie watched with utter fascination at the small insects, Dallas sat on a desk behind him, Ulrich and Odd stood next to Mrs Hertz whilst Aelita next to Dallas, "all of the decisions are made by the colony" added Mrs Hertz, Jeremie leaned in for a closer inspection, "Ant's receive a few simple orders such as search for food, make the path leading to food and follow the path, as a result we have an impression that each ant is clever, but in fact this is more of a collective intelligence" finished Mrs Hertz, Odd smiled and said "so you mean an army of Sissi's could be intelligent, I don't believe it" causing everyone but Mrs Hertz and Sissi to laugh, "shut up bird brain" she fired back but no one noticed, "settle down" said Mrs Hertz the class slowly stopped laughing, "as I was saying the Ants are able to complete difficult tasks such as finding food or defending themselves against an attacker, which it would seem that Ants wage full scale war's between different Colonies" added Mrs Hertz this only served to intrigue Jeremie, "what about Killer ants do they exist" asked Ulrich taking an interest, "Yes maybe in fiction Ulrich, but there are infact army ants that destroy everything in their path, so it's true you best stay out of there way" said Mrs Hertz, Sissi became creped out by the small insects, "do any of those nasty bugs live around here" she asked in disgust, "no this specific breed of ants are from south America, there the phenomenon is called Marabounta" answered Mrs Hertz, Sissi sighed and said "few I'm glad I live in a country where there's no danger" causing Aelita to roll her eyes, then the bell rang and everyone started leaving, except Jeremie who was still fixated on the Ants.

Most of the border students went to the cafeteria for lunch, Odd as usual grabbed as many servings as he could, Ulrich and Yumi were sitting next to each other, whilst Jeremie was at one end of the table sitting next to Aelita, Dallas was at the other with Odd across from him, Jeremie who'd been day dreaming noticed Odd had started to eat his food, Dallas smiled and grabbed his bowl of slice able off his tray before spinning it around and passing it to Odd who began to dig into the extra portion,
"Saturdays my favourite day, no school in the afternoon" said Odd as he finished a mouthful, "I like Sundays better, no school at all" said Ulrich as he finished his food, "You seem worried Jeremie whats on your mind" asked Aelita as she noticed him sitting absent minded, "he's been like this for the past two days" said Dallas as he swallowed a bit of his able, "Franz hoppers notes Aelita, Last night I decoded a multi agent system a computer application that follows the principal of an ant hill, it was strange it was codded differently, what happens is…" said Jeremie but Odd cut him off covering his ears, "oh no, Mrs Hertz has already bored us to tears with all that Ant stuff, don't you start now" he said causing the others to laugh, "seriously this time I might have found a way to weaken XANA, lets meet up at the factory after Lunch, I'll explain everything" said Jeremie, but everyone stood up "normally I'd love to but I have to finish my Italian homework, see ya" said Aelita as she took her tray away, Jeremie looked at Odd who quickly said "I have to practice for a skateboard competition", Jeremie rolled his eyes and looked at Yumi, "Yumi" he asked but she stood up "sorry but I've got a doctor's appointment, the little fellow is about 8 weeks along now" said Yumi, Jeremie looked at Ulrich, "I'm going with her, I missed one appointment but I don't intend to miss another" said Ulrich as he stood up with her, "Dallas" he asked but Dallas replied "sorry Einstein I got some training to take care off" as he grabbed the last of his apple and scoffed it down, Jeremie rolled his eyes knowing he was alone, however unbeknownst to them Sissi was watching them, "can you believe them" she said to her group, Adam looked towards her and said "I can't believe you most of the time whats your point", Sissi ignored him, "that slut Yumi, she's whats stopping me and Ulrich being together" she said, Herb spoke up for once "you know she's got an ultra sound and Ulrich's going today" he said, then Sissi had a bright idea, "looks like I'm making a hospital trip today" she said, Evelyn rolled her eyes as Sissi stood up and started following Ulrich and Yumi, "yet another wasted afternoon" said Evelyn, Nicholas was just left dumbfounded "why does she need the hospital" he asked scratching his head, Herb smacked him round the head hurting his own hand in the process, "you idiot" he said as he grabbed his hand.

The Gym was mostly empty apart from a few people, Dallas had roped William into helping him as he knew that the later needed to get over Yumi,
"You sure you wanna do this" asked William as he looked at Dallas's chest scar, "yeah I'm good" said Dallas as he looked at his MMA gloves, William was wearing boxing gloves, "now remember you job is to try and hit me, whilst my job is to dodge" said Dallas, William nodded and took a stance before stopping and noticing something "what the hell is that" he said as he pointed his arm towards Dallas's tracksuit Bottoms, "Enso, or a variation of it, found it wrapped up in a cloth and placed under my door, I liked it so I sowed it onto my tracksuit bottoms" said Dallas as he pointed towards what looked like a Q but with a dash on both sides, "let's go" said Dallas as William knocked his gloves together and moved towards Dallas, he quickly threw several punches aiming for either the head or the shoulders, but Dallas side stepped each of them, William turned and faced him as he William threw another punch, Dallas quickly turned his body and dodged, during the turn Dallas turned his whole body in a 360 motion, "too slow" he said as William smiled as he quickly threw another punch, Dallas leant backwards, each of Williams punches were getting closer and closer, but as he straightened himself out William threw another punch, this one caught Dallas in the chin knocking him backwards, William was shocked thinking he'd hurt Dallas but instead as Dallas landed on his back he quickly flipped back onto his feet, "that all you got" said Dallas, he quickly side stepped as more punches were thrown, William was becoming more exhausted as he couldn't keep up, "Can we take five" asked William as he began to breath heavily, Dallas nodded as he exited the ring grabbing his water, downing as much as he could, "Now that should have hurt" said a familiar voice, Dallas put down his bottle as he noticed Abbie standing at the side of the ring, she was dressed for the Gym and had a matte black sports bra on, with grey jogging bottoms with her hair tied back, "you see now I think you're stalking me" joked Dallas, Abbie laughed at the comment "can we talk in private" she said, Dallas was confussed as to why, "William I'll be back in a few" he said, William shouted back "OKAY" as he took a massive gulp of his drink, Abbie and Dallas walked out of the main room, "okay what did I do" asked Dallas, Abbie smiled "you earned my Dads respect for starts" she said as she sat down on a plastic chair, "Your dad, I don't think I've meet him" said Dallas confussed, Abbie shook her head, "Benjamin Clarke" she said, Dallas's eyes shot open, "he's your dad" he asked causing her to laugh.

At the factory Jeremie was at the computer screen he put down his note book and clicked his fingers,
"Okay here we go" he said as he began typing at a slow pace to make sure he didn't mess anything up, to his side were numerous books checked out from the library about ants and ant hives, meanwhile at the hospital Yumi checked in at the front desk, she looked at the youth working it his name tag J.P
"the nurse should be with you shortly" he said as he moved away from the computer, Yumi smiled as she moved over to Ulrich, he was clearly nervous, "why are you nervous" she asked as she sat down next to him, "like I said to Jeremie, I missed one and I feel bad about it, but seeing our child it just makes me nervous" said Ulrich, Yumi smiled and kissed him on the cheek, "you know that's annoyed Sissi" whispered Yumi, Ulrich was confussed "Sissi?" he asked, Yumi smiled and said "she followed us here", Ulrich rolled his eyes "you better not let her in" he joked when a nurse came over "Are you Miss Ishiyama-Stern" asked the nurse, Ulrich's eyes shot open "yes I am" replied Yumi, the Nurse smiled as she said "please follow me", Yumi and Ulrich stood up, "Ishiyama-Stern?" he asked quietly, Yumi smiled and said "well I thought it best, considering the two of us could have gone to jail", Ulrich smiled and said "has a nice ring to it", meanwhile behind them Sissi was slowly walking trying not to be spotted as Ulrich placed his arm around Yumi which only served to frustrate her, "that whore" she said under her breath.

"Now for the moment of truth" said Jeremie as he looked at the screen quickly double checking everything, he hit enter and a new window opened showing several small spheres that quickly multiplied, "everything seems to be working" he said as he watched the progress on the screen, "transfer prototype" said Jeremie as he hit enter, "scanner" he said with his fingers crossed as he began to virtualize it in the forest sector, out of thin air an unstable black sphere appeared, suddenly it began to warp out shape and began to bubble as it began to drop to the ground below "Come on" said Jeremie as he watched the stats, it then began to multiply rapidly and spread across a small section of ground, "yes, Franz Hopper you're a genius, and so am I" said Jeremie to himself, he grinned as he said "XANA and his monsters better watch out now", he quickly pulled up the Phone tab on the screen and dialled Odd's number leaving a message "Odd when you and Aelita are free head over to the factory I've got something amazing to show you both" he said with utter joy.

"so aside from telling me that you're dad now respects me, what is you wanted to talk about" asked Dallas, Abbie was nervous she hadn't thought anything through, suddenly Dallas started to get a small headache again, he didn't let it show as the girl appeared again "not again" he thought as he watched her walk behind Abbie "well you already know whats she trying to say" said the girl, Dallas turned his head slightly "don't screw this one up" she added, Dallas smacked himself in the head and she was gone, "you okay" asked Abbie, Dallas looked at her "yeah fine" he said not believing himself, "well you see I asked my dad to represent you" said Abbie trying to think of what to say, "explains what he meant by he was doing someone a favour" said Dallas, Abbie smiled "well I asked him to do it because…" she said but was struggling to think of what to say, "listen I'm grateful for what you did, you helped me and my friends, and I'm in your debt" said Dallas, Abbie turned around "I know that" she said, "but what I want to say is" she said nervously, "say what you want you're unlikely to piss me off"" said Dallas, this didn't reassure her, "oh this is gonna be weird" she said, Dallas tilted his head "what is…" he started but before he could finish Abbie had planted her lips on his, whilst her eyes were closed with nervousness, Dallas's were open with shock, she pulled away to see his shocked looked "I shouldn't have done that" she said as she turned away, "believe me that's not the weirdest thing that's ever happened to me" said Dallas, she didn't turn back "I shouldn't have done that" she said, "I like you yeah, but forcing myself on you…" she added almost crying, she turned back to face him, "I thought repaying you for saving me would get rid of these feelings" she said, Dallas moved towards her "but it just made me feel like this more" she said as she looked up at him, Dallas didn't know what to say, "listen can you just forget that we just…" she started but Dallas grabbed her and pulled her close kissing her, she pulled away "now we're even neither of us knew why did that" he said, Abbie laughed and said "I think your friend is waiting for you", Dallas looked back at the door "good point" he said as he started walking away, "hey listen, do you wanna grab a drink at some point" said Dallas, Abbie smiled and too Dallas's surprise she looked to make sure the area was clear and lifted her sports bra, Dallas's eyes shot open, he turned away and said "I'll take that as a yes".

The elevator doors opened and Odd and Aelita stepped out,
"Well whats all the joy about" said Odd as the two stepped towards him, Aelita looked at the screen with intrigue "whats this program" she asked not recognising it, "Its Marabounta, my own creation" said Jeremie, Odd looked at him confussed "and what does it do exactly" asked Odd, Jeremie was all too happy to explain "it's a multi agent system that functions to the same principals as an ant hill, but instead of ants we have these little spheres whose functions is to search and destroy XANA's monsters" said Jeremie, Odd smiled and warmed up to the idea "oh I get it whilst the monsters are getting wiped by your ants XANA leaves us alone on Lyoko is that it" said Odd, Jeremie smiled and crossed his arms saying "you guessed it", Odd was amazed at the idea of an easier work load, however Aelita wasn't so convinced by the idea, "but what if there's a real bug in the program" she asked nervously, but Jeremie was how Dallas would describe 'so far up his own arse' to think of that outcome, "impossible Franz Hopper was a genius" he said, Odd however didn't have any doubts "if this thing really works we should go to Lyoko to check it out" said Odd, Jeremie smiled and leant forward "you read my mind" he said, Aelita decided to voice her concern further, "I'm not so sure, we've learnt that tinkering with the supercomputer has had numerous negative effects" said Aelita as she looked away, "if there's the slightest problem, I'll pull the plug, Promise" said Jeremie, it wasn't much but it convinced Aelita to at least go to Lyoko, she and Odd entered the elevator and descended to the scanner room, the door opened and they walked to a scanner each, "here we go" said Jeremie as they stepped inside, "Transfer Aelita, Transfer Odd" said Jeremie as he selected their ID cards shutting the scanners in the process, "Scanner Aelita, Scanner Odd" added Jeremie as the two began to spin and rise inside the scanners, "virtualization" said Jeremie as the two felt the blast of air, their blue squared outlines appeared and gained detail before dropping to the ground, "you guys are south of the Marabounta take the path to your right, sorry but you'll have to go without vehicles, I don't have enough machine resources to bring them up, and watch out for the bad guys" said Jeremie, Odd laughed and said "roger general" before he and Aelita started sprinting along the path "Krab at 2o'clock, follow it, it's heading in the right direction" said Jeremie as the two stopped, they quickly waited for the monster to pass before following it at a safe distance.

Back at the hospital Ulrich and Yumi were nervous, the nurse was kind even though they were young,
"please lie down" she said with a smile, Yumi laid down on the bench as the nurse applied the gel, Yumi shivered at the cold nature of it, the nurse couldn't help but laugh slightly "sorry" she said as she grabbed the wand, Yumi grabbed Ulrich's hand as they looked towards the screen and as the wand touched the Gel and Yumi's belly she felt weird as the wand moved around, suddenly there was an image, Ulrich looked at his hand as Yumi's grip tightened, "well there he or she is" said the nurse, she looked confussed slightly "seems to be developing healthily, possibly a bit quickly" said the nurse, Yumi was scared "is that bad" she asked the nurse looked back at her and said "no of course not, I'd say its fine", Yumi sighed as she was handed a tissue and wiping the gel of her belly, "I'll be back in a moment" said the nurse as she looked at the clock, she closed the door behind her, "oh Ulrich" said Yumi hugging him, "I can't believe it, seeing our childlike that" said Ulrich, he was amazed and still nervous, he was starting to doubt his own abilities, whilst outside Sissi had been listening in on what she could and was disgusted by it, "if anyone should be having Ulrich's child it should be me" she said to herself under her breath, "what does she have that I don't" said Sissi as she stormed off, back inside the room Yumi noticed Ulrich looking down, "I know you're scared about this" she said, Ulrich looked at her as she pointed to the paused image on the screen "I'm scared as well, but we're going to do this" she said, Ulrich smiled and kissed her feeling her belly.

"Target dead ahead" said Jeremie as Odd and Aelita came upon the sight of a massacre, "Jeremie I see it" said Odd as he and Aelita stopped at a distance, "well whats it like" asked Jeremie, the small Black bubble had expanded across the ground and was absorbing every creature that it came into contact with, it wormed it's way up a Krab that was unfortunate enough to have been caught, slowly working its way up its legs, as it reached the top the creature began to sink into the collective before being swallowed leaving no trace that it ever existed, Aelita was close to screaming upon seeing this, "scary, very scary" was all Odd could describe it as, Jeremie smiled at his creation, the Marabounta wormed it's way towards a Tarantula as it fired at the advancing slime, but it was too late, as soon as it the creatures leg it began to be consumed, four hornets circled a rising section firing a barrage of lasers at it unable to stop it, suddenly a massive burst similar to a volcano erupted and consumed the hornets leaving no trace of their existence, a Mega Tank opened up and fired its destructive beam but before it could close again, the slime moved in and began to consume the unfortunate creature from inside out, "I never thought I'd say it" said Odd looking at Aelita, "I feel real sorry for XANA" he added as he looked back at the chaos, "I'll uplink you a visual Jeremie" said Aelita, then on the computer monitor Jeremie got a clear image of his creation in action, "it's working even better than I thought it would" said Jeremie, the window closed before it caused too much stress on Aelita, "if you ask me Einstein, you've invented yourself a nasty piece of work" said Odd as he shook his head at the numerous monsters being consumed, there screams becoming unbearable, "Jeremie I've seen enough, I want to come in" said Aelita turning away and getting a shiver as she was scared of the Marabounta, "okay Aelita, I'll bring you back, head south west, there's a tower nearby" said Jeremie as he adjusted his ear piece, "got it" said Odd as he started running ahead of Aelita, but as she turned the Marabounta slid in front of her, she screamed "ODD", he turned back as the slime moved towards her "Odd, Aelita whats going on" asked Jeremie as Odd ran back and fired numerous laser arrows into the slime destroying it temporally giving Aelita enough time to escape, "answer me" said Jeremie as the two quickly ran as fast as they could, but the Marabounta was made angry by its escaped prey, "Laser Arrow" said Odd as he fired back at it, only causing the smallest of holes which quickly sealed up, "Odd say something" said Jeremie as he looked at the radar, "your Marabounta seems to have it in for us" replied Odd as he continued to fire back at the creature, "this is no time for jokes, I programed it to attack XANA's monster's only" said Jeremie, "WELL COULD YOU PROGRAM IT SOME FUCKING EYE GLASSES FOR IT THEN" screamed Odd as he fired more arrows, "This can't be right, did you do something special" asked Jeremie, Odd quickly realised his hand was empty and turned and began to fire with the other, "That wasn't the smartest thing to do" said Jeremie thinking that was the problem, "Jeremie, Odd didn't have a choice, the Marabounta was coming after me" said Aelita, Jeremie was shocked by this "how can that be" he asked, he quickly searched through the coding before looking at the original coding, "oh no, oh fuck no" said Jeremie as he noticed something, "it's my fault, its XANA's virus it must think she's one of its monsters" said Jeremie, Odd rolled his eyes as he ran out of arrows "Great work Frankenstein I thought you bloody said we had nothing to worry about" said Odd, Jeremie looked down and said "well I was wrong, head for the tower, I'll kill the program", he pressed enter on the end button, but a new screen with the warning icon appeared and beeped "oh no, oh no" he cried as he franticly typed "when you're ready Jeremie" said Odd, "I can't deactivate the program it seems the Marabounta doesn't want to die" said Jeremie, the Marabounta was nearly lunging at Odd and Aelita as it tried to get them, "it's become autonomous it'll consume everyone and everything it's path" said Jeremie, Aelita became worried at the news that her home was being destroyed, "I'll call the others" said Jeremie trying to get a hold of himself.

Dallas ducked from another of Williams swings, again he was getting closer and closer towards him, and William then threw a right hook, Dallas crouched and turned, suddenly Abbie ran towards him,
"time out" said Dallas to William as he moved towards her "yeah" he said to Abbie "your phones vibrating" she said as she handed it to him "Jeremie whats up" said Dallas as he answered and stepped out of the ring towards his stuff, "my programs gone hay wire, I need you at the factory now" said Jeremie, Dallas quickly responded "on my way" before hanging up, he slipped on his boots and pulled his tags over his head before grabbing his jacket "William we'll have to continue this another time" said Dallas as he rushed out the door, and towards the man hole, he jumped down having moved the hatch, he grabbed his skate board and quickly rushed off down the tunnel, whilst at the hospital Ulrich and Yumi walked out of the room, when Ulrich heard his phone ring, he quickly pulled it out and answered it,
"Jeremie" he said as he held it to his ear, "I know you and Yumi might be busy but you're needed at the factory right away" said Jeremie before hanging up, "what was that about" asked Yumi, Ulrich placed his phone in his pocket and said "Einstein's in a panic again", Yumi rolled her eyes, as they exited the building avoiding Sissi but she was following them, "hang on this could get rough" said Ulrich as he held her by the back of the neck, they turned into an empty alley, Sissi followed them and jumped to see the alley empty, "huh" she said in disbelief.

"Hey Jeremie I think we lost your monster but now we're kind 'a lost ourselves" said Odd as he and Aelita looked around, "I uh sorry guys, take the path due North West" replied Jeremie as he looked at the radar, "the Marabounta hasn't hit that section yet, meanwhile I'll find a way to stop it" he added, Odd was nervous and as he and Aelita started running he said "don't blow it okay, I don't want to end up as chewing gum, they were quick to get to the tower, but the Marabounta had been quicker as it arrived and had covered the ground surrounding the tower, "Jeremie bad news the Marabounta got here first, the tower's unreachable" said Odd as Aelita began to back away scared "this won't take me long I promise, the others are on their way" said Jeremie as he reloaded Odd's arrows, but it wasn't enough as it still advanced on them Aelita turned to run but she found that another section of the creature was behind her, "if this goes on any longer, All of Lyoko will be consumed" said Jeremie beginning to panic again, Aelita and Odd became separated as it focused its attention on Aelita, "oh no" she said as she was about to be consumed, she closed her eyes awaiting her demise, but suddenly a loud engine noise closed towards her "what the" said Jeremie in disbelief as Adam rode past grabbing her on his bike and moving her to a safe point, "you're crazy" said Odd as Adam stopped and dropped Aelita off, "I'm crazy Jeremie made this mess" said Adam as he pulled his musket and opened fire onto the creature, Evelyn ran over doing the same, she was followed by numerous monsters who passed Aelita and laid down suppressing fire onto the Marabounta, "I think I understand XANA can't afford to lose Aelita, he needs her memory" said Jeremie, Adam looked up shouting "NO SHIT SHERLOCK" as he extended his hand firing a lightning bolt into the creature, although it had little effect, whilst outside the factory Dallas emerged onto the bridge at the same moment Ulrich and Yumi arrived, "you okay" asked Ulrich as he let go of Yumi, she was a bit dizzy but she gave the thumbs up, "come on Einstein's probably done it this time" said Dallas as he the three headed towards the elevator, he pressed the button as it descended to the scanner room, "we're here Jeremie please tell us you haven't fucked anything up" said Yumi as they walked towards the vacant scanners, "long story, Dallas be warned you're not gonna like something" said Jeremie as he started the program, "Transfer Ulrich, Transfer Yumi, Transfer Dallas" said Jeremie as the scanners closed and he selected their ID cards, "Scanner Ulrich, Scanner Yumi, Scanner Dallas" he added as they began to spin and rise "virtualization" said Jeremie as they felt the blast of air, their blue square outlines appeared and gained detail before dropping to the ground.

The three quickly ran towards the others, Dallas threw his tomahawk at one of the Blocks,
"No not them" said Aelita before pointing at the Marabounta "that" she said with fear, Yumi was disgusted by the sight of it, "what is that horrible thing" she asked not wanting an answer, "one of Jeremie's bright ideas, Luckily XANA's giving us a hand" said Odd as he stood alongside some Blocks, "this couldn't get any worse" said Ulrich as he drew his sword and began to slash at the advancing sections, "oh yes it could" said Dallas as he moved towards Adam, "believe me I'm not happy about this either" said the latter, Dallas looked at him then noticed his bike, "Yumi take over for Adam" he said as he dragged Adam away, Yumi quickly took his place and threw her fans barely slicing into the Marabounta before it sealed itself, "what're you doing" asked Adam as Dallas let go, "what does your bike use for power" asked Dallas as he tore of a side panel with his left wrist blade, he threw it away at the Marabounta but it was absorbed, "atomic kinetic I think why" he said, Dallas smiled before pulling wires away as fast as possible, "how're you doing Jeremie" asked Aelita, Jeremie was yet to come up with a solution "I'm an idiot for doing this" he said placing his head in his hands, "it's not your fault, you couldn't have known that the virus would have caused this" said Aelita, Then it came to Jeremie, "virus… A virus of course" he said as he franticly began typing, "that might work, I'm gonna need some time" said Jeremie, Dallas moved from the inside of Adam's bike, "we'll get you time" said Dallas as he pulled a circuit board from the bike, "what're you doing" asked Adam, but Dallas stood up as the bike began to vibrate "EVERYONE FALL BACK" he shouted, as he began to run Adam looked at the back before shouting at the monsters "DO AS HE SAYS", Evelyn looked at him as the warriors ran away to another section, "whats going on" she asked, Dallas grabbed her and said "best you run" as he dragged her away, the numerous monsters moved away as fast as possible, the Marabounta began to advance, "whats the point of this" asked Ulrich as the Marabounta neared Adam's bike, Dallas counted down on his fingers before shouting "GET DOWN" as he dropped, suddenly Adam's bike exploded in a huge fireball, a massive section of the Marabounta was destroyed whilst the rest was knocked back like a massive wave, the knocked back wave sent some Kankrelots flying, "son of a bitch" said Odd as he stood up, "That enough time Einstein" said Dallas as he and the creatures began to move forward.

Adam and Evelyn lead the charge of the Monsters as they began their first assault on the Marabounta but the creature was moving them back again,
"Let's hope Jeremie knows what he's doing" said Ulrich as he and Odd moved forward to help, "we can't let it get any more headway" said Odd as he fired numerous laser arrows at the slime, "you're a good general Odd" said Yumi as she moved up helping, Odd smiled, Dallas crouched and fired his crossbow and rapidly reloaded as fast as he could, "Jeremie better hurry up" said Yumi, Jeremie looked at the screen and wiped his brow "I'm doing my best" he said, suddenly the Marabounta lunged and consumed a Kankrelot, "fall back" said Odd as they began to put some distance between them out of fear, "I think I've found the answer, Odd I inserted a code for a deadly virus into one of your arrows, if you hit a sphere with it the whole colony will be infected" said Jeremie, Odd smiled and said "no sweet" and aimed at the blob, "no wait, it'll only work if you hit the first sphere" said Jeremie, Odd lowered his arm, "it's at the heart of the Marabounta" he added, Dallas huffed and said "needle in a fucking hay stack" he noticed that he was out of bolts, "how am I meant to reach it on a camel's back" asked Odd sarcastically then he turned as a Krab kneelt down towards him, "Odd it's the only way" said Jeremie, Odd clambered aboard the creature saying "you gotta be shitting me", the Krab then began charging towards the Blob and began to move quickly throw it barely giving it enough time to consume it, "Jeremie any idea how we find the first sphere" asked Odd, Jeremie quickly replied "I'll guide you", back at the main party Aelita stepped away but unbeknownst to any of them a small chunk of the Marabounta moved behind and worked its way up her leg, Aelita screamed, but Evelyn ran up and pulled her free, Aelita ran as fast as she could, Evelyn went to as well, but she was grabbed by the leg, she screamed "HELP ME" but Adam ran away not thinking there was anything to be done, but Dallas ran over and using the butt of his crossbow began smashing into the Marabounta, "RUN" he growl as he cleared her leg, but he tripped as he was running but before he could be consumed he began fighting back either by smashing it with his crossbow or with his fists, whilst deeper in on the Marabounta the creature was finally beginning to consume the Krab, but this wasn't stopping it, "you're almost there Odd, I'll give you the exact location of the first sphere" said Jeremie as the Krab began to rock as it shook off the slime, "it's okay I see it" said odd as he noticed the lone floating sphere that dropped over spheres adding the mass below it, the Krab began to sink into the ground as the Marabounta consumed it, "you've only got one shot" said Jeremie as the Marabounta climbed up Odd's leg, whilst back at the main party they were being encircled, "oh no" said Yumi as she and Aelita stood back to back as the others did their best to fight off the blob, Odd fired his arrow, it struck the sphere "yeah" said Odd but there was no effect, "Jeremie it didn't…" started Odd but suddenly there was a massive blinding flash as a massive Orange fireball erupted and consumed the entire sector.

Odd rushed back towards the Other as they looked around the now clear landscape,
"You did it Odd" said Yumi, then they noticed the Elephant in the room, Aelita stood back as Odd raised his arm and the others drew there weapons and stood at Adam and Evelyn ready to fight, the creatures behind them however bowed to them, "what the hell" said Ulrich, Dallas stepped forward sheathing his Tomahawk, he raised his hand signalling for the others to stay back, "there shall be no war today, you've earned XANA's respect" said Adam as he extended his hand out to Dallas, the later took it and shook it, "you fought well" said Dallas, Evelyn smiled as the XANA agents and it's monster's walked away without incident, "be careful, the Marabounta may be gone, but XANA still wants your memory at all costs" said Jeremie.

The warriors having all returned to the factory stood around the computer screen,
"I don't know what happened" said Jeremie as he and Dallas went through the code, "I told you don't play god" said the latter, whilst over at the wall Ulrich and Yumi sat next to each other exhausted, Yumi had her head on his shoulder, "so how was the ultrasound" asked Aelita with intrigue, Yumi smiled and said "the baby's healthy, and growing a bit quickly although that's nothing to be worried about", "we hope" said Ulrich wanting a small punch from Yumi, Odd couldn't help but laugh, "Yumi this might sound weird" said Aelita scratching the back of her head, "yes Aelita" said Yumi with a smile on her face which only made Aelita more nervous, "is it possible if I can feel the baby" said Aelita, Yumi smiled and said "of course", Ulrich smiled at the gesture, Aelita got on her knees and placed her hand on Yumi's stomach, "it's not developed enough for kicking yet I'm afraid" said Yumi, Aelita smiled and said "I know I just wanted to feel", suddenly they heard Jeremie shout "YOU'RE SHITTING ME, HOW THE FUCK IS THAT POSSIBLE", the others walked towards him and Dallas, "I don't know, but this code wasn't written by Hopper" replied Dallas as he pointed towards the file, "you found it not in Hoppers notes, but elsewhere, but when you installed the notes, it manifested itself" said Dallas, the others were confussed "you think XANA was responsible" asked Odd, Jeremie shook his head, "no there's no point, I mean threaten his existence and Aelita's even if it was to gain our trust why do it if it's gonna be temporary" replied Jeremie wiping his glasses, "so what does that mean" asked Aelita, Dallas moved away from the screen, "someone not hopper has had a program dormant on this device for years" he said, a silence fell on the room, "someone knew that Jeremie was going to be tempted by the program, and created it" said Dallas breaking the silence, but it became that once again until Odd spoke up asking "but who?"
