'Thoughts'

"Talking"

Chapter 18

After all the drama was said and done. They made their way back. all of them could hear the creatures but with the light, they kept their distance from them thankfully. Fortunately, they hadn't run far from where they left the sled and with Riddick leading them it was taking less time to make their way back.

Not much was said between the survivors. Trailing through the darkness with their dim lights, most occurred in their own thoughts on the adverts that had taken place. Even though Johns wouldn't be missed by anyone of them it was the hard truth that some of them may end up as he did. A meal for the creatures.

Glancing towards his mate, Harry was glad Riddick was taking the lead from now on. Fry was in no way right for the job of protecting the group or leading them now or ever again. Plus only his Hunter even had a clue on where they are. Everything looked the same to them all, even he couldn't tell where they were.

He ignored the glare Fry was burning into the back of his head from the back of the group. He was too on edge to deal with her shit right now. He only hoped with Johns gone she'd soon follow him. Though he wanted to be the one to end her for fucking good. Harry let out a silent snort, he never used to be this cold about killing someone before but after so many years alone with no family around he just stop caring for those that he didn't know. He learned he couldn't protect everyone and that had been a hard lesson to accept. no more would he risked everything for those that just didn't want the help and in this group, there was only one he wouldn't piss on if she was on fire.

What his dad and papa would think of his coldness to killing people now but he knew that they would have ended her already for what she had done he liked to think.

The closer they got to where they left the cells the louder the screeches of the creatures grew. It sounded like a feeding frenzy with the creatures fighting and screeching at each other, it set the group even more on edge as they knew what those things were fighting over.

Their steps became quicker and soon they were by the sled. Everybody worked as fast as they could in grabbing every light from it.

"Take everything, were leaving the sled at the canyon. No point dragging it anymore." Riddick ordered as he, Imam and Suleiman moved to the cells. while Riddick seized two for himself. Imam and Suleiman pulled the last two collectively.

Shazza, Jack and Ali assembled what was left of the bottles and flares from the sled, handing around what little they had let to everyone bar Riddick. Shazza looked to Harry as she strapped a flare onto her belt and saw he was at the edge of their light looking out into the darkness.

He had such a worried expression on his face that it troubled her. making sure the kids were safely by Imam she walking over to him halting by his side.

"Are you alright there Harry?" Shazza asked facing towards him.

"Mm… yeah, just a feeling I've got." Harry hummed. He'd been on edge since they came back. The bad feeling he's got wasn't fading and for the life of him, he couldn't pinpoint why.

"Good feeling I hope. I don't think we could take another bashing right now." Shazza half-joked.

Harry turned to face her smiling to ease her worry. "Don't worry Shazza. We'll get through this hell. I didn't save your ass just so it can be eaten later now did I."

They both looked at each other before bursting into laughter, startling the others. The tension subsided from their hearts.

"Come on. Let's get the hell out of here." Shazza grinned nodded towards the group.

"Couldn't have said it better myself." Harry nodded and followed after her. but as he took a step to do so a shriek cause him to hesitate and half turn to look behind them. The grip on his light tightened so much he was at risk of breaking the bottle. Not that he cared, his main focus was on the beast flying just in the shadows wanting the meal that was just out of reach.

Eyes glued to its deadly form before it succumbs to its nerve and darting back into the darkness. Death was waiting in those shadows for the next unfortunate soul to be climbed and Harry was going to make damn sure it wasn't one of his group. Fry, he couldn't give two shits about if she was taken. She wasn't making it off this planet anyway. Be it by the creatures or his fangs. But the others he would make damn sure they saw the light of a new sunrise again.

He swore on Merlin, it will happen.

"Harry!" Imam called. "Its time to go!"

Harry turned away and walked back to the others. It was time to leave.

Riddick shoots a quick glance over at his mate, he could tell his mate was on edge and it took everything in him to not go over there and find out what had disturbed him so much. But again there was no time now to do what he desired. So, for now, he'd let it rest and discover out later what was bothering his Vixen. For now, they had to get out of this area before the creatures finished battling over Johns remains.

Turning to Imam Riddick nodded to him to get moving. The holy man nodded back to him before saying something to Suleiman and they began to haul their Cells as quickly as possible. The others following in a brisk walk towards the canyon.

It took them less time than Harry reasoned it would get to the start of the canyon, he hadn't realized it was just beyond the boneyard but with everything that had happened time wasn't something one kept track of when something is trying to consume you.

He noticed he wasn't the only one on edge now, this was the last leg and then it was Skiff city.

Stopping not far from the entrance to the rocky canyon Harry felt the dread rush through him as he stared down the dark path that laid before them.

He could feel death hanging around them, even closer than before and it was making his magic hum underneath his skin to the threat. he wanted to cast a Patronus to get rid of the feeling but he that it would be a waste of magic plus he just couldn't trust at the moment. He also acknowledged he had to save it for when they really needed it. he may not have the gifts of a seer but even he took notice when it was buzzing under his skin so much that danger was ahead of them. Peering over the group he knew it wouldn't be an easy escape. Especially with them all tired from what they faced so far. With all the sprinting and near death experiences, they were all at their breaking point.

His Riddick appeared to know what he was thinking as he put down his harness near some rocks and turned to the others. Looking at the wary faces looking to him, Riddick announced. "Rest all of you. This last bit isn't going to be a walk in the park and there isn't going to be any more breaks after this."

"Why can't we just go now. why wait! Those things could get us at any moment and rip us to pieces for a meal!" Fry bellowed in anger. She didn't want to stay in the open like this with their asses hanging out. she wasn't going to end up like Johns.

"You want to go? Then go." Riddick waved his arm towards the foreboding looking canyon.

Fry gazed at the dark path, the sounds of the beasts seem to heighten and made her blood turn to ice in her veins. She turned back to Riddick, saying nothing out loud but begged with her eyes for him to follow her.

"That's what I thought." Riddick rumble, dismissively before turning and walking away. he had no time for her bullshit right now.

He didn't like stopping here himself but understood if he wanted both him and his mate to make it through this alive with the tagalongs they needed to rest and plan.

The tried group did as Riddick ordered and found themselves sitting on rocks around a small fire Harry made. They all needed their energy to make it through this last run.

Harry sat with them after setting the fire and looking over to his mate who stayed away from the group. He wanted to go over to him but Riddick looked deep in thought and he didn't want to disturb him.

"Shall we pray together," Imam asked, both his sons beside him. With their head bowed in prayer.

Shazza hesitated for a moment before nodded in agreement. A prayer wouldn't hurt, not with everything that has happened already since falling onto this cursed planet. Even though prayers hadn't saved her Zeke and losing him had nearly killed her, they had been together for so long it was hard to image he wouldn't be beside any longer. If she had been a weak-willed woman she would have been angry at Harry for saving her life back at the cargo hold. But she wasn't a weak woman though and she will live on even if it meant without Zeke. He would have wanted her to keep fighting and making sure she got off this hell hole of a planet.

Bowing her head beside the children, Harry and Imam she listened to Imam prayer. It was soft and soothing words she felt a little at peace even if she couldn't understand his words or their meaning. She prayed to any god that she knew inside her mind. she prayed for the safety of the children. They shouldn't have to have to face such monsters in their lifetime. She prayed for Harry. If it wasn't for him a lot more of them would be dead. She knew in her heart she and Ail wouldn't be sitting here right now alive.

Finishing her little prayer she opened her eyes she hadn't known she even shut and looked up and straight at Fry who was in her line of view. She stood not far from them with her arms crossed over her chest and staring intently at Harry's back. The burning hate in those eyes worried Shazza. The way Fry had been acting towards him ever since they crashed was troubling.

Fry appeared to hate the young man and it had been growing, she first noticed hints of it when she forced Harry down the hole to find her Zeke. At the time she thought nothing of it as some people just disliked each other for no reason but this was different somehow. The hate and jealousy she noticed in those cold blue eyes every time they settled on Harry and Riddick together was intense and sent shivers down her spine.

Shazza knew petty jealousy, seen it enough when she let Zeke start courting her back home from a few males but what she was seeing in Fry's eyes was darker and more sinister than anything she had ever seen and she felt real fear for Harry's life.

Harry saved her life and had done nothing but help them get to this point. He was the glue that was holding them together and she knew that if anything happened to Harry before they got off this planet… Shazza swallowed the lump in her throat and looked over to where Riddick was.

She didn't think what Riddick would do if his mate was killed 'Stop it Shazza. It didn't bear thinking about.'

Shacking her head somewhat to clear her distressing thoughts she turned to Imam and listened to the rest of his prayer. Hoping it eased her troubled soul.

Harry was also praying alongside them, not to any Gods but to Mother Magic herself. He asked for her to watch over their small group. They didn't deserve to be trapped on this hellish planet with monster hunger for their flesh. He prayed for Imam and his last two boys. The poor family had already lost a son and brother to the darkness he will make sure they lost no one else.

He clearly had heard the sick plan Johns had come up with, he had wanted to use one of the kids as bait and it had pissed him royally off, so bad in fact he had to suppress his fangs. The sick bastard had been his mate kill so he held himself back. 'I'm glad that sick prick is gone, maybe when we get off this hellhole Imam and his sons can mourn their loss.' Harry thought having noticed that after the poor boys' death Imam kept Ali and Suleiman closer to his side or in his line of site at all times. Imams fear was clear. He dreaded losing his other sons to these creatures. Harry was going to do everything in his power to make sure the man's two sons made it out of this never-ending nightmare.

With that promise in his heart, Harry prayed to Mother Magic again. he wished his magic not to let him down in their hour of need. He needed the strength to do the spell over Jack one last time to cover her scent form those monsters the best he could. 'Though at this point I don't know how much help it's going to be.' He doubted. 'Those fucking things seem to be getting more intelligent by the minute, they won't be fooled for long. Hopefully, this can confuse them enough by losing the blood scent to throw them off their hunt. I hope.'

Mouthing his last prayer Harry opened his eyes and looked around for his way would Hunter. Locating him not far, walking to what looked like was some old skeleton remains of one of the adult creatures. Most likely killed by own kin.

Food was food for them even if it was their own kin on this meal.

Noticing Imam standing out the corner of his eyes, he watched as he walked over to Riddick. Curiosity getting the better of him he quietly rose and followed.

Riddick's eyes ran over the damaged sun-bleached bones, spotting part of its head on the ground he bent down he picked it up. Placing it back on the head accurately, he secured it in position. Reaching out he placed his other hand on the other side and stared directly into the creatures face, studying it. Seeking for any type of weakness, glancing at where his hands were and then turning his silver eyes to the bladed head. Something clicked inside his mind.

"Blindspot," Riddick whispered to himself. Finally, he had the bastards weakness to exploit, but it was a risky one for sure. He would have to be right in its face to not be seen. But at this point, anything benefits him.

"Shall we pray together?"

Riddick spans around and finds Imam standing not far from behind him. He was not happy he had let the man so close without notice. To distracted. Something he wouldn't let happen again. Dropping the bone to the ground he said nothing as he made his way back over to the cells and sat down on a rock. He had to make sure they were tied tightly together with the little rope they had. Planning to ignore the holy man. Maybe he would leave him be as he worked. He wasn't interested in what he had to say.

Neither of them noticed Harry hiding behind the bones listening in.

"I have already prayed with the others," Imam said gently, dropping to his knees beside Riddick. His exasperation calm. "It is painless."

"It's fucking pointless." Riddick coldly said. Not caring how his words came across to the holy man.

Imam didn't let them affected him, instead, he stared calm back at the angry man. Taking no offenses to his words. "Because you do not believe in God, does not mean God does not believe in you…"

Riddick had heard enough. The rage he kept under lock and key had reached its boiling point. This Holy man had no right to think he didn't have any acknowledge about bloody god and its so-called help. Face set as cold as ice, only his silver eyes gave away the burning rage within as he growled out. "Think someone can spend half their life in the slam with a horse bit in their mouth and not believe."

Tightening the rope tight around the top of the last Cell he saw out the corner of his eye, he had the holy man's full attention. Fasting an all onto the main rope he continued. "Think he could start out in some liquor stores trashbin with an umbilical cord wrapped around his neck and NOT Believe."

Letting out a sharp cold laugh that sent shivers down both Imam and the hidden Harry's backs. Resting his hand to his chest Harry's heart broke at hearing the hellish start Riddick had in life. All this time the fates had punished his mate till it made the man standing before him now. Strong and harden he may be but he never crossed the line like others, namely Johns, to keep surviving.

"Got it all wrong, Holy Man…. I absolutely believe in God." Riddick finished the last knot on the Cells and glanced up into Imams face. Eyes like liquid mercury. "And I absolutely hate the fucker."

"He is with us none the less." Imam gently spoke. He didn't let what he was thinking a show on his face. Not wanting Riddick to see the pity and sorrow in his heart for his tale. He did not wish to upset the man further. Riddick had a hard start in the universe but no matter what there was skill kindness inside him. Maybe deep inside but he wouldn't keep them all alive if there wasn't a better man inside trying to get out. No matter how touched by darkness, blacker then what was already surrounding them he was he still had light in his heart.

"One of your boys is already dead." Riddick bluntly said frowning. Not caring that his words hurt the man only that he left him alone. "How much faith do you have left, father."

Though the words cut into his heart and brought the image of his lost son in the front of his mind. he didn't rise to the bait, for he knew it was Riddick way of deflecting attention away from himself. Such a strong man would never show weakness. So Imam didn't answer. Just continued to look into those hard liquid eyes. Whatever he was looking for he must have found as he nodded to Riddick and stood up.

"Faith is with us always even in times of heartbreak." Imam parting words hung in the air as he walked back to the others.

Riddick watched him leave before looking down at the power Cells. His mind on his past as he finished up. Two people knew about his past now and he didn't know how he felt about that. He hadn't spoken a lot to Harry about his childhood yet. He didn't want pity for how he came into his world clouding his mate's mind.

"Riddick."

Turning his head he spotted Harry stepping out from behind some bones where hed been hiding. "Eavesdropping again Vixen. It's starting to become a habit for you."

"He was only trying to help. My hunter." Harry softly spoke. Coming closer.

"Praying to some useless God isn't going to do shit for us, Harry. Even with your gifts, we'd be lucky to not lose two or three in that canyon. There is no God here. Only Death." Riddick growled, pissed. He turned away to look at the monsters waiting beyond the light. Worried he was going to lose the one thing that made him feel something other than rage in his life.

Harry sighed and wandered across to Riddick's side. Laying a hand on his back he could feel the tension in those firm muscles. His mate's body was wound up tighter than a spring.

"I believe in one thing Riddick," Harry whispered making Riddick turn and face him. Staring into each other's eyes. Riddick would never get tired of eyes those green eyes. The first colour he had seen in years.

"That we will make it out of here." Harry moved his hand up and caressed Riddick's cheek, his fingertips ghosting over the outline of his cheekbone. "Together."

Riddick surged up and forward, claiming Harry's lips with brutal force. Harry didn't even have time to gasp as his mouth was devoured with such hunger. Riddick put all the emotions he was feeling into this one kiss. Love, worry, anger, care, and even fear. Harry took it all and gave everything in returned it, holding nothing back from his mate. The fear and concern he had felt when he to leave Riddick's side so he could fight Johns and the love and relief at his return to him.

The fire between them was like a supernova, it burned and set them alight with so much passion if they had been alone Riddick would have taken his Vixen right there in the sand. Sadly this wasn't the time nor place to let go as monsters screeches in the air pulled them back to reality.

Their lips parted and as they panted for breath they stared into each other's eyes. Breath mingling.

Slowly, catching their breath. Harry panted our amused. "Well… that was deafeningly an incentive to make it out of here alive and quickly."

Riddick glanced down and smirked smugly at his aroused mate face, it was disappointing that there wasn't enough time for foreplay. "We'll finish this later Vixen. Go do your mojo on the girl so we can get the hell out of here."

Harry laughed stepping away reluctantly from his Hunter. Missing his body heat already.

"I'll hold you to that Riddick," Harry said seductively before turning and strolling away. He made sure to put a little more sway in his hips, grinning cheekily when he heard a deep growl from behind. 'You're so much fun to tease my Hunter.'

What neither of them noticed was the burning rage in one Carolyn Fry's eyes at their affection display.

Seeing the pair together like that just pissed her right off, she would like nothing more than to shoot that fucking freak. Inside her dark little heart, pure rage roared through it. Seeing that fucking kiss made her sick to her stomach. It took everything inside her to stop her self going over there and ripping those two apart. that was it she must think about somehow getting rid of that disgusting freak of nature. Then Riddick would no longer be under its spell because in her mind there was no other way that freak would have Riddick attention and affection.

A man like him needs a strong, intelligent and beautiful woman.

Like her, not some freak that shouldn't have ever been born.

Hiding her rage deep inside since she didn't want the others knowing her thought she put on a blank face and followed Harry to the others.

With the group. Jack was sitting on a large rock, next to her was Ali and Suleiman with Imam now sitting beside his eldest. He wanted to be close to his boys after his talk with Riddick. Understanding there was still a chance to lose another child. Shazza sat opposite them with an arm resting over her knees. Their bottles of light in the center of the group alongside Harry's mini campfire.

They were all taking the time to rest and get their stamina back for the run ahead.

Stopping beside Shazza Harry said. "Jack, come here, I need to block your scent again before we do this."

"Okay." She nodded, slightly nervous about what was to come even if he had done this a few times already, it just felt so strange and this time she can see what he was doing. Getting up she walked to him and stood in front of him.

Imam looked up, curious. "What are you speaking of my son?"

"Yea. I'm confused here. What in the world is 'scent blocking.'?" Shazza asked. The only thing that came to mind was those lotions you used to stop BO. But they were called scent blocking.

"I didn't say anything before. But I used some of my power to temporarily block Jack's scent to protect her from the creatures tracking." Harry explained. Though he soon regretted it went Fry blow up.

"You didn't think to say anything before!" she shouted. The anger she had been suppressing since seeing the kiss came rushing back to the surface. In her mind, she was thinking she had him now. With his information, the others would surely finally see that this freak couldn't be trusted and shouldn't be anywhere near normal people like them, especially her and Riddick. "Maybe we could have avoided people dying out here if you had spoken back at the ship instead of keeping it hidden like a coward!"

"well, Fry…" Harry said tone set to how he would speak to a small child. Though more patronizing. "I didn't think it would be very smart idea to say anything as we had a drugged up Merc hanging around. A man who would do anything or use anyone to get his payday. So what do you think would of have happened if he knew I was more an I seemed. Huh? The man already wanted me to join up with him. Going on and on about being the best hunters around if I became his so-called partner. Johns had lost his mind way before we landed here and I wasn't going to give him an inch of info on me."

Fry saw the others nodding in agreement with him and knew her plan wasn't working, thinking quickly she fired back. "Then why the hell didn't the so-called scent blocker work. We all heard Riddick say they had been nose open for her since leaving the ship!"

"Because it doesn't last for hours on end you bloody stupid bitch! Not without something powering it and they weren't just going for jack or have you forgotten Paris already." Harry growled at her. The bitch was getting on his last nerve and if she wasn't careful he was going to rip her head off.

"That's another thing I want to know about. I saw a green light back there. I thought it was the flare at first but it came from out where he had run off to! What the hell was that, huh! And don't bother denying it wasn't something to do with you cos you were missing when the flares were lit!" Fry snarled right back at Harry. Her finger pointing at him. She knew the freak had something to do with the strange things going on and she wasn't going to let him get away with it.

"I don't know whether to be flattered that you pay so much attention to me or freaked the fuck out by it. Fry." Harry scoffed. A pained look on his face at the idea. The bitch was trying her hardest to get the group to turn on him and from the look in their eyes, it wasn't working. He had enough hiding and with what was coming up he needed to use everything he had at his disposal if he wanted to keep those he cared about alive.

"You didn't answer me. What the hell is going on!" Fry gritted out.

"Magic."

The group looked at him in surprise. No believing their ears.

"Magic my son?" Imam asked his words producing images from the past long forgotten back to the front of his mind. 'Could it be.'

"huh?" Jack looked back and forth at the others, confused.

"Are you fucking kidding me!" Fry bellowed. Throwing her arms in the air. "There is no such thing as magic, who are you trying to fool. And if by some miracle you possess such an ability why didn't you help when everything went to shit instead of sitting on your ass."

"Oh, I don't know Fry maybe because I'm not the fucking GODMOTHER! I can't wave a wand and make everything better! It works when it god-damn wants to work or have you forgotten what I said back at the ship when I told everyone about my creature sides and abilities!" Harry roared. His fist clenched. There was no way he was going to mention the killing curse. She would accuse him of murder and being after them all to kill them or some shit.

"It's magic, what you used back at the ship?" Jack asked nervously the tension the fight was causing was getting to her.

Harry gritted his teeth and took a deep breath through his mouth and out through his nose. Doing that a few time to calm the rage he had inside. He wouldn't be surprised if his eyes were tainted red from all this fighting. He didn't want to blow up at the kids and make them even more scared so after a few more breaths he answered her. "Yes Jack, I used my magic to place a thin shield over your body that filtered your scent so the smell of blood couldn't be scented. I placed it over you again after losing Paris so I can only do it once more."

"Why is that?" Jack asked she was filled with questions about this magic thing. She wanted to ask more but knew now wasn't the time. Hopefully, she can ask later.

"It's a long story one we sadly don't have time for but short of it is I've been asleep for a long time and when I did wake I noticed my magic acting strangely. What once came easily to me is now not performing as it should. Why I have no clue but feeding on my mate seems to help level it out for a short time." Harry explained. "Also Jack you don't have magic yourself so the spell has nothing to hold onto to recharge it so it fades quite quickly. If I had the time I would have made it into a charm for you to wear sadly that would take me a day to do."

"Wow what spell is it?" Jack asked awed.

"It was used for working with magical animals. Dragons and unicorns as such." Harry smiled seeing the awed look on the group's faces. Suleiman having translated to Ali what they were talking about.

"So feeding on Riddick helped you recharge or something?" Shazza asked. "Would feeding on anyone help?"

"Yes and no, you see I can satisfy my hunger with anyone but it wouldn't be the same and I would need to take more and more often but with Riddick I only need a few mouthfuls to become full and for some reason it makes my magic stable for longer." Harry tapped his chin in thoughtfully he had question himself as to why Riddick blood helped with his magic. when he had been feeding on Mac and Jaz it had only helped a little. He really needed to look into his library trunk that was in his bag. 'Thank Merlin Papa made that special locator spell on my bag or I really would have lost everything by now.' Turning to the group. "Luckily I fed back at the ship when I did. It would be dangerous to do so now."

They all looked over to the start of the canyon, it darkness hiding the danger inside though Harry could smell the many creatures inside waiting for their meal to come to them.

They soon turned back though when Fry sneered at them. "This is all bullshit. I can't believe your all falling for this crap hook line and sinker."

"What is your problem Fry! If Harry can use his gifts to help us out of this mess I can't see the problem." Shazza snaped. Giving her a hard look. Fry looked like she was losing her mind with everything that's been happening, she wouldn't be shocked if that was the case. She hadn't been acting quite right since Johns spilled her secret.

"If he has all this power why did he keep it secret for so long huh!?" Fry hissed, knowing she was speaking the truth, the freak was hiding to save his own skin maybe even bewitching the group to follow his lead. 'That's it he must have cast some spell to turn them against me.' Fry was taken from her thoughts by Shazza.

"You heard him yourself. Johns was unpredictable you had no way of knowing what the guy would have done if he knew about Harry. Or have you forgotten him turning on you!" Shazza defended. Pissed off with Fry's attempts at undermining Harry at every turn, he had done so much for them with nothing in return. 'God damn it, he saved my life and no way in hell am I going to turn my back on that now or ever.'

To stop the arguing from continuing Imam stood and addressed Harry. "Are you part of the magicae chans my son?"

Everyone shifted to stared at Imam in confusion. Harry himself looked bewildered. "No, imam. what is a magicae clan's?"

"It's a clan of magic users. Witch and Wizards that visit different places all over, be it planets and stations for a while before moving on. Those that know of them think they are brother/sister clan to the elementals. I met one once on my home planet when I was a small child of Ali's age. He used what he called magicae to pour us water for our drinks and turn a chair into a puppy for me to play with while he talked with my father." Imam smiled at the memory before carrying on. "He did many great things in his time spent with us, though I remember him growing increasingly tired if he overused his power."

"Magic," Harry said in disbelief. "He really used my type of magic?"

Harry feel breathless, his heart pulsing a mile a minute with this new knowledge. If what Imam said was true and the man had no reason to lie about something like this, then there were others like him still out there existing in this time.

He wasn't truly alone.

(ME) well isn't that a surprise, is Harry really alone with his magic or are their others out there, will they make it off the planet or will more fall. I hope you enjoyed please review and let me know until next time bye bye
