'Thoughts'
"Talking"
Chapter 22
Inside the dark canyon, a glowing blue light rushed through, panting for breath, Fry ran for her life. She knew that there was only so much time before Riddick left her behind on this godforsaken planet. Not that she blames him after all what did he owe her or any of them but she hoped that once she was there he would see what she had to offer him, after all, she was a top pilot and had brains to keep up with him.
Wiping the water from her blurry eyes, Fry raced through the darkness her eyes darting around her to make sure there was nothing near that was going to try and eat her. Her mind went back to Riddick, the man had been on her mind since seeing him tied to that post, his muscle strained back showing off those arms that she wanted around her so much that it hurt. The closet she had gotten to touching him was back in the cargo hold when he showed her his sliver eyes, they were so beautiful they seem to look right into her soul and take it captive. If she hadn't been so nervous she could have taken her chance and kissed him, maybe then he wouldn't have been spelled to look only at the freak.
Turning another corner she stopped and regarded dark canyon carefully, looking over the foreboding cliff sides that loomed above her with dread. Every sound sending her blood pumping faster throughout her veins.
"Growl..." Came from behind her, the sound making her shoot forward, not looking behind to see what made the sound. She pushed her tied body onwards, even more, holding the bottle higher up to protect her from whatever that was. But after so many hours awake with barely any water and no food her speed was flagging, she was only really being fuelled by her fear and excitement to see the Skiff.
Fry had never gone through anything like this before. Her mind turned from the danger she was into her childhood, her broken mind clinging to anything that had meany safety to her and that time had been so. She enjoyed growing up in a well off family, there had been no hardships, no danger, and no freaks. Her father earned a lot to support them and their lifestyle, having treats and presents when she asked for them. Her mother and father could never say no to her and why should they have, she was their only girl after all. She knew her mother had been happy to have a girl after six boys. Growing up with that many older siblings she had made sure to have them all around her little fingers. Her brothers had doted on her just as much as her mother and father, she could do no wrong in their eyes.
When she set her mind on being a captain, they had paid her way into pilot academy, but it fell apart at the last test, she had passed everything and made sure to get the best grades, no matter who she had to pay off for them. Then came that loser of a psychiatrist had to come along and ruing everything for her. He told the heads that she was a loose cannon, that she cared for no one but herself and she hurt anyone that got in her way of reaching the top, well that was her dream of being a captain going down in smoke. She tried everything to get them to change their minds but nothing worked. They said she had to start as a pilot for at least two years before resitting the Captain exam and nothing she or her family said to change the company heads minds.
So she did her time making sure they knew how great a pilot she was, she planned everything down to the letter, no trouble no complaining. Showing up that fake psychiatrist to be a liar and that the company had missed out from the start on a great captain.
But this happened, crashing onto a hell hole of a planet, she had done what she took but there was no way she could land that ship without losing some of the passengers, it wasn't her fault after all. Like it wasn't her fault that she was going to be the only survivor to make it off this planet, alongside Riddick of course but they would have to change his name, Riddick's name will have to die on this planet but Richard was a better name anyway. 'Rickard Fry sounds even better.' She thought, grinning with a crazed glint in her eyes. She will tell them how she did everything in her power to save the passengers but with the crash taking out most of them and then the monsters eating the others. There was nothing she could have done to save them.
Not when they didn't listen to her and instead followed some creature that wasn't mean to still be around. It wasn't her fault. She was just the pilot.
'They will see that, yes they will. And with Riddick by my side, I won't be alone in facing the music.' And once that was done she will be given a ship of her own to captain. It will be the best and top of the line ship. Every single crew member will look up to her and follower her every order to the letter, no backtalk, no stabbing her in the back. They will love her.
And by her side Riddick will stay, her silent bodyguard and lover, he will protect her from any who dare go against her.
Everything will be perfect. After all, she always got what she wanted in the end.
A loud screech came from the darkness making her cringe at how close it was. First, she had to make it to the skiff in one piece and set the last part of her plan in action. Hearing the cry cut off like something ended the beast life set her back into running.
Trying to take her mind off what took be happening in the shadows she let her mind go back to the others. She had set all her hope and plans in getting the others to let her go and alone at that, it worked beautifully, Imam hadn't put up to much fuss with her going alone and the kids were no problem. She had worried when Shazza spoke out over it. She went back over the conversation with the bitch, the look on her face told her how much Shazza didn't trust her, very different from when they first landed. She had to think fast in getting Shazza to back down even if it was Imam in the end that got her where she was now. It had taken everything she had to not put the bitch back in her place, what right did some low life settler have in telling her what she could and couldn't do.
With them back there out the way, her next part of the plan came into action, once she got to the Skiff she had to play the part of concerned Captain, maybe even try at least a little in getting Riddick to go back with more light for them. Not that there was any in the Skiff when she last look, and if her gut was right Riddick will say the opposite, maybe even play a little mind game with her before asking her outright to come with him.
Bring in a few tears of sadness for the other before she gives in and gets onboard into the safety of his arms. Oh, the very thought of his arms sent tingles of pleasure racing through her body, they will leave this planet for good.
Fry felt no guilt at all at the thought of leaving Imam, Shazza and the kids to their death, after all, they were all on that freaks side and they didn't stop Johns from knocking her to the ground. Why she should be concerned for them, they were a group of nobody's. It wasn't like anyone was going to miss them. Unlike her.
A shiver of dread going down her back broke her from her thoughts, quickly looking around his eyes wide as she shivered in fear, she couldn't see anything but darkness, but it still felt like something was on her ass, she had that same feeling since she had left the others.
So far she hadn't spotted a single beast though she had heard some of them in the shadows now and again they hadn't come near her yet. But for some reason that wasn't what worried her, she felt like she was being constantly hunted by something, and whatever it was felt much more dangerous than the creatures.
She tried to reason with herself, this planet had been left abandoned since the last people lost their lives here, meaning they didn't know what was living on it, there might be other creatures on the planet. They had only encountered the baby and adult hammerheads so there could be bigger and more deadly things hiding in the darkness.
'I hope I'm wrong, I can't deal with any more shit right now.' She thought, hoping to never meet whatever was giving her this feeling. It had plagued her since she left the others and she had barely stopped to look around corners cause of it, it was interrupting her 'happy' thoughts and those were the only thing getting her through this.
"Growl..." sounded behind her again, driving her onwards, it was like it was herding her, making it so she was too fearful to dare to stop even for a moment to see what it was. Just running faster.
The feeling always grew worst when she stopped, it was like the creature was getting enjoyment from her fear, her body begged for a break as the pain started to build in her muscles but she didn't dare push her luck with this thing.
Her mind was cracking under its threatening presence.
Holding the bottle higher she finally came to a stop, her eyes widening as it highlighted a large steep hill, small little rivers of rainwater were flowing down and washing mud water down to the bottom pooling around her feet. Fry sneered when she realized she was going to have to make her way up through all the water and mud, she hated being dirty but since being on this planet she hasn't had a chance to wash, let alone change out of the dirty tank top and grime-covered pants, Now she was going to be covered in mud as well.
For a normal person, they wouldn't care how dirty they got as long as they lived but Fry had slowly been losing her mind since she watched her captain die in front of her, made worst when her co-worker dies in her arms from her mistake. She has always been a little off the edge, one of the reasons she didn't pass her captain license. Along with being a highly selfish individual,
the psychiatrist had also put down on paper how uncaring she was to others unless they could do something for her they were ignored for those that could. She was spoilt and turned nasty if she didn't get her way. She was written down also as not being able to adapt to change.
Fry knew all this as she had slept with someone to get the paper but she ignored it all, thinking it nothing but lies, to her this had been the last job before she moved up to her own ship where she made the rules. That was going to go up in smoke unless she came up with a good enough lie to cover this mess. After all, it wasn't her fault that they crashed on a monster-filled planet.
Holding the bottle tightly she gritted her teeth and moved forwards, she began her dangerous climb to the top, her feet sinking into the mud, her body tense as she tried to not slip back down again, fingers beginning to ache as they sink into the cold wet mud, pulling herself up the sloop slowly. She hated how her back was so exposed right now but what could she do, it was hard enough pulling herself up with one hand, she tried to make sure no mud cover the glass when she used that hand to stable herself but it wasn't easy. 'Please, please let me get through this.' she prayed.
"ROAR..." at the bottom of the hill rang through the air, it sent her heart racing with panic and fear, she dares not turn to see what was down there. The thing that was hunting her had gotten to close for comfort. Working her legs faster she tried to get to the top faster and away from the threat behind her, raising the light over her for protection, she needed to get to the Skiff and its safe of more lights.
Panting for breath in the thin air her thoughts turned to the man waiting at the Skiff and away from the creature. If she didn't she felt her heart was going to give out on her because of her fear.
Fry knew she had to make it there before Riddick left her behind. She hoped he would finally look at her like she wanted him to now the freak was gone. 'Why shouldn't he, he isn't under any spells any more with that freak gone, he might even take me into his arms as soon as he sees me. Yes, he will have me as a mate now and protect me from this beast that following me. Maybe even taking it down like he had the others.' Her crazed mind thought, moving even faster up the mud hill seeing the end of it getting closer, she had to get to her man. And he will be hers.

The sounds of the rain pouring heavily against the hull of the ship, it is a soothing sound surrounded Riddick as he worked, it would be calming if not for the pain inside his cold heart. He was still numb to everything bar the pain, his mind focused on the task of getting off the planet and away from the memories of his mate.
He had opened the bottom floor panel and was in the process of placing the heavy Cells inside the engine unit, connecting them to the ship took a little longer as the Cells were from the Hunter Gratzner and that had been a merchant vessel, a totally different model then the small passenger ship he had just removed and dumped outside. As he worked he thought over what else needed doing, he knew that the wings were in working order now thanks to Shazza patch work on them and the hull was 100% from spying on Fry's little test before everything went to hell. Food and water were going to be a problem if he didn't get found quickly. If he had to he could always put an SOS out with his name on it. A Merc was bound to come running for the bounty on his head and he just hoped to avoid that for now.
'Though maybe killing off some of those bastards would be just the thing to stop this empty feeling inside my chest, rage, and blood to clear away the pain.' Riddick thought as he connected another Cell. He knew it wouldn't stop the hurt and pain of losing a mate but it would channel the rage he was feeling inside, maybe one of the fuckers would get lucky and end it all for him. Riddick had never thought he would be brought to the point of wanting to walk into deaths arms, especially only having known someone less than a few days but whatever he was, having a mate and losing them feels like he had already died, his body just didn't know it yet. Sometimes he wondered what would he be feeling if he had been a normal human instead of than animal wearing human skin.
Gritting his teeth at his dark thoughts Riddick quickly hooked up the last Cell. Once he connected the last wire to the skiff the panel at the front flickered on with life. All around him switches began to glow brightly as all systems came online for the first time in years.
Riddick looked up as the lights when the skiff powered up and hum with life, seeing no faults or anything that needed fixing he smirked darkly, everything was ready to go.
Standing up he closed the floor panel with his foot, once it clicked into place he moved towards the hatch and glazing out all he saw were purples, pinks, and white, No hints of green or black that he truly wished to see.
The only movement was the rain pouring down, none of the beasts dare come close to the Skiff, not with its lights fully on. They burned his eyes but he paid it no mind not with how much pain was trying to free itself from his heart.
There was no acknowledging to the actions he was about to take, no guilt in leaving the others to die. At this point, he just didn't care, they were nothing to him, strangers that got in the way of him getting his mate off this planet, him helping them had caused the loss of the one thing that matter to him the most. Looking one last time at the blackness an image of Harry standing by one of the buildings appear he stood in full colour, his green glowing eyes looking at him loving as his lips pulled into a sweet smile directed only at him.
Riddick growled, clenching his eyes shut as he shook his head, pain shooting through him. Taking in a deep breath he looks back at the building the image was gone. And with it the last of his hope of ever seeing Harry again.
It was over.
'There was no point in dreaming about him now, he's gone just like everything else good in my life. Nothing lasts. Not for me.'
Turning to the switch on the wall to his right he turned it from open to close, as the hatch started to close he took off the light harness, glazing down at it he gritted his teeth, the image of the others flashing through his mind before he pushed it away violently, he was done playing hero. Looking up he shoots one last glance out of the closing hatch.
"Goodbye, Vixen." He whispered one last time to the darkness locking away the memories of their time together, only when the nights were cold and lonely will he visit them again. Soon the view outside disappearing as the hatch closed and Riddick felt it also closed the last door to his heart. Turning away, he smashed the lights against the wall breaking them beyond repair. He wouldn't be needing them anymore.
Walking towards the front of the ship he dropped the unless lights onto one of the open seats, stepping between the two pilot seats he sets himself down into the pilot chair. His body finally resting after everything.
Looking over the panel he saw that everything looked to be ready for lift-off. Flicking some of the switches he began flight checks, making dead sure that everything was ready to go and in working order. He didn't want to end up halfway into space then having life support failing.
The Skiff hummed as the engines started to power up, he set about putting the chairs harness on his eyes glued to the main control screen. He made himself more familiar with the skiff as he hadn't gotten the best of looks last time he was in here with the blonde bitch. He had been having a bit to much fun playing with her mind at the time. Though smelling her lust had made it difficult to be around her for too long. Frowning he turned back to the controls, there was no time to be thinking of those that didn't matter.
The Skiff was an outdated model, mostly luckily a cheap buy before the people settled here, from what he could see it was at least 50 years out of date. He could handle it though, from what he was seeing everything was in working order and he didn't have to run another hull diagnosis as the bitch had done that for him already. Checking over the power output on the screen he smirked when he saw that the Hunter Gratzner cells weren't going to overloads the engines once he takes off or in space. The Skiffs systems can handle the power as the Hunter Gratzner hadn't exactly been a top of the line ship. There shouldn't be any problems once out in space. And if there were it wouldn't be anything he couldn't handle.
Glazing up for a brief moment he jolted in surprise when his eyes landed on the last woman he expected to see standing in the rain, covered in mud and panting for breath in from of the Skiff. Her eyes locked on him through the window.
'Well I'll be damned, the bitch made it through the dark. This could be interesting.' Riddick thought not taking his eyes off Fry as he reached forward and flicked the off switch making the engines powered down, this was going to take time and he wasn't wasting cell power on this. He stood and saw she was making her way towards the back of the Skiff. With her out of sight he grabbed his shiv and span it in his hand, the light passes over the surface on the metal blade. Staring at it, he tightens his grip on the handle. He had one last thing to do before he could leave.
One last thing for he's mate.
Tucking it behind his back he covered it with his top to hide it from sight, it wouldn't do for the bitch to know what was coming her way. Moving to the back of the Skiff he thought on what Fry's game plan was, he knew the others must still be back at the cave so it meant they sent her, most likely to get more light and then go back for them, but this bitch wasn't planning on saving anyone, he knew that much from her actions so far. 'I wonder how far I will have to push for her true colours to come out.' He thought as he reaches out and the switch and let the hatch lower once more. As it lowered to the ground he placed his hands above him and leaned slightly out, looking unconcerned and bored to the socked woman. Fry panted trying to get her breath back after her mad dash through the buildings, the sound of the engines driving her onwards, the fear of being left had near overwhelmed her but when the sight of the Skiff came into view and she saw Riddick seating in the pilot chair about to take off she felt nothing but relief and swallowed the lump that appears in the back of her throat, suddenly the fear she had been feeling since leaving the others and making a mad dash through the darkness faded at the sight of him. She had made it.
"Strong survival instinct," Riddick smirked. He could see the fear and want in her eyes and knew she was on the edge of fully breaking. Maybe a little more of a push and he would break her. He also notices the others weren't with her, looks like she left them behind, not surprising what was though was that they let her go on her own after all this is the woman that tried to kill them all in their sleep. 'Not smart.' he thought. Pushing the thought of the others from his mind he needed her to trust him just a bit longer. He looked her over and lied through his teeth. "I admire that in a woman."
"I...I promised them that we would go back with more light." Fry pleaded a fake concerned expression on her face. She had to make Riddick think she wanted to go back for the others before giving in. So if anyone asked then would be on the same page of everyone being killed before they left.
What she didn't know was Riddick could hear the falseness in her voice, he could instantly tell she was up to something he just had to work out what. The first thing that was obvious to him was the bitch didn't want to go back to help the others, her scent alone told him that she was after something else. He wonders how much he had to push for her to change her tone and revel her real intentions. Letting none of his thoughts appear on his face Riddick replayed sarcastically. "Did you? Did you really?"
Seeing the look on his face and hearing his tone Fry gulped, she had to hold her nerve, for her plan to work she had to appear not too eager or to give in too soon, she had to get him to invite her in. Standing tall in the rain she taunted him as she walked closer till she was at the edge of the ramp. "What? Are you afraid? If I could make it through without getting hurt then it shouldn't be such a big job for the Big Bad."
The bitch was trying to taunt him like he was that dumb to fall for her shit. To even think let alone say that to him showed him how far gone in madness she was. Fear had no meaning to him now what was there to be afraid of when one has already lost the one thing that bound him to give two fucks, the universe could fucking end right then and there and he wouldn't give a shit. Oh, he will keep fight till his last breath but he wasn't going out of his way to help anyone. Showing none of the anger, he instead smirked darkly at her. "Then you can make it back. Why should I."
"Come on Riddick. There gotta be some part that wants to re-join the human race." Fry said with her high and mighty tone, underneath it all her fear and lust were growing so much it was hard for her to not to fall to at his feet and beg him to take her, his strong body radiated so much power and animal magnetism that her thoughts were getting harder to control and keep to the plan. She did everything possible to make sure those feelings won't be seen on her face, after all, she was once again the leader and captain and had to act like it for this to work. 'He looks pissed for now but if I push just enough I can turn this around. No way am I going back for them. Not when I have nearly everything I want waiting for me in that skiff.'
The tone got on Riddick fucking nerves, it made it hard for him not to just reach behind him and slash the bitch's throat out but that wasn't how he wanted to play this, he had to see how far he could push her before he ended it all. To get her hopes up and dash them, to see the pain and hurt in her eyes that mirrored what was in his heart.
"Truthfully, I wouldn't know how," Riddick said coldly and at this point, he didn't care to.
"Well then just give me more light for them, I'll go back by myself," she said inside her mind though she panicked, this wasn't going the way she wanted she needed him to start to persuade her to come with him.
"Okay." Riddick reached to where he left the light harness he had broken earlier and throws it at her feet, deep into the muddy water. A cruel smirk in place, he waited to see what she was going to do with that. "There you go. Enjoy the trip back."
"Please," Fry begged, making her face falling into depression at the thought of going back out there. She had to get him to change his mind in making her go back, there was no way she was risking her life for those people. 'You want me Riddick.' she willed inside her mind before saying out loud. "Just come with me. I can't go get them myself not alone. Please, Riddick."
"I've got a better idea," Riddick said out the blue catching her attention. "Come with me."
her heart nearly stopped at those words, she had been praying he would say them but to hear them was another thing, looking deeply at his face she hoped he was telling the truth. Fry whimpered, "You're fucking with me. I know you are."
she dare not hope as she stared at him her heart beating faster and faster, she wanted so much to believe him, that her plan had worked but so much was riding on him believing her to be swayed to his side. Glazing at the Skiff, it looked so inviting inside away from the danger of being eaten at any moment wit its bright light and strong hull, to beside Riddick as they take off.
"You know I am?" Riddick said mocking before his tone turned ice cold. "You don't know fucking anything about me."
If she did she would have taken her chances with the monsters instead of rushing to his side. Oh, she played a mean game but was nowhere up to his level, only one had and he was gone. Feeling the shiv cool metal against his skin he knew what he had to do. He was going to kill her, she had tormented his mate too much to be allowed to go free. As soon as she was close enough he was going to end it all.
"I will leave you here." He said seriously. Waving his arm to the hatch as he stepped down the ramp.
"I...I..." now was the time to give in but not to quickly she didn't want to give the game away, it had to seem like her will to save the others was leaving her. She stared into those dark goggles and gave her answer. "I have to or the company will send me to the slam, I can't go there. I wouldn't last in there Riddick."
"You won't have to worry about the company ever again. Here. I'll make it easy on you." Riddick said holding her hand out to her, what she didn't notice was his other hand moving to his back and grabbing the handle of his shiv.
'He wants me, finally, after all this work he wants me and not some freak.' She gazed lovely at his outstretched hand, her thoughts and feeling raced through her at everything she worked so hard on coming together at last. Palms sweating and her heart beating a mile a minute she felt so much joy she was fit to burst. The very thought of finally being alone with him inside the skiff without none of the others getting in the way the whole journey sent her lust through the roof. Around them her scent gave how aroused she had become. Now that freak was gone there was no one stopping her getting the gorgeous man, finally.
She took a step towards him with her hand raising to grab his, blind to what the other one was doing hiding behind his back.
Riddick watched her with a growing smirk, his hand tightening on the shiv, his blood beginning to sing for the scent the enemy blood.
Just before she could touch Riddick's hand, their moment was broken by the sound of clapping.
Fry back stepped away from Riddick she spins around in surprises and fear, she thought for a second one of the others had followed her. Seeing nothing because of the darkness she turned to Riddick about to ask if he could see anyone but she saw he too was gazing around. Though the look on his face wasn't fear like her own but surprise.
Holding back the tide of a wave of emotions that were threatening to break free from inside him at having his chance to end the bitch interrupted something his mate would have wanted. Riddick gazed around to see who had joined them. He couldn't see anything out of place, not even a creature, but were corners that can hide someone from sight.
Holding in a growl Riddick lifted his head and lets his nose tell him. Their guest was hiding where he couldn't see them but his scent would tell him all he needed to know. Suddenly a scent of copper of freshly spilled blood and rainforest reached him sending shock waves through him. A scent he thought he would never smell again. The wave of emotions he had been holding back near bust out of him but he had to hold back, he needed to know that his nose wasn't playing tricks on him.
"Riddick what is it," Fry whispered fearfully, looking to him for protection from whatever or whoever it was. She knew that if it was one of the group, having followed her after all then they had seen her reaching to take Riddick's hand, that she was going to leave the rest of them here if the company found out she wouldn't see the light of day again.
Cold laughter spilled out through the air, it sent shivers of dread down her spire, her fear staring to rise higher inside her. While the laughter sent
pleasure down Riddick's he knew that laugh but it couldn't be.
Both turned to where the sound had come from and their hearts stop for two very different reasons when the being stepped from behind one of the building into the light of the skiff.
In the light of the skiff, the figure of one Harry Potter stood. A half-naked, bloody and covered in dirty rags that they could see wounds peaking at the edges, very different from when they last saw him but still very much alive.
"What a touching scene. So gut-wrenchingly sweet I do believe I shall be sick to my stomach." Harry sneered darkly, eyes flashing between red and green and his fangs could be seen peeking over his blood-red lips. The rage so clearly on his face that it sent shivers down their spines, though for two very different reasons.
"No, you died," Fry whispered in horror.
"My death was greatly exaggerated." He flashed her his fangs in a deadly smile.

(ME) Well ^^ I hope you enjoyed. Let me know what you think, did I get the madness in Fry right or Riddick and his coldness. Plus what about Harry and his entrance, what's going to happen next.
Till next time on Not Alone Anymore.
