It is a weekend; as usual she goes down the stair to have her breakfast; at the very least that is what she planned to. But apparently, it does not go as planned.
'Why is there no breakfast?' Kanade thinks as she doesn't see foods on the table like usual.
'Where is my mom?' Thinking so, she starts to search for her mother.
After a while, she finds her mom, sitting on a floor near a shelf in her house looking at something.
"Mom, what are doing here? Where is breakfast?" Kanade asks.
Hearing Kanade's voice her mother looks up, "Oh, it's just you, Kanade?"
"Yes, it's me. Where is breakfast?" Kanade responds.
"Oh, breakfast! Sorry, I forgot to make it! I was busy looking at this." Her mother indicates at the thing in her hand.
"That is…" Kanade says as she looks at the thing in her mother's hand.
"Yes, it is a picture album." Her mother continues Kanade's words.
Feeling a little interest, Kanade decides to join her mother in looking at the album.
"Let me see it too, mom." She says as she joins her mother.
"Yes, yes," Nodding to herself, she opens the space for Kanade to sit.
After Kanade and her mother looking at the picture album for a while, her father comes along.
"Yuki, where is the breakfast?" Her father asks her mother after seeing no foods on the table.
"Oh dear! Sorry I didn't make breakfast yet, I was busy looking at this picture album." Her mother answers.
"Hmm… Let me see…" Her father answers as he sits down on the floor with them.
"Oh? This is…" Her father says after looking at the pictures in the album.
"Yes, it's back when we were just lovers, dear." Her mother continues on what her father wanted to say.
"I see. So these are pictures when I was not born yet…" Kanade murmurs as she looks at the album.
She continues to look absent-mindedly at the pictures until she sees one picture.
"!"
"T-this picture is…" She begins as she points at one of the pictures.
"Oh, that picture is…" Her father exclaims.
It's the picture of a girl who looks exactly like her standing with her father's younger self.
She should have not been born yet, so who was the one standing with her father's younger self?
"It is my late younger sister," Her father explains.
"Your late younger sister?" Kanade repeats.
"Yes, my late younger sister…" Her father looks at Kanade before continues, "Her name is just like you, it's Kanade"
"!" Kanade is shocked.
"You see, I used the name of my late younger sister to name you, Kanade," Her father states.
"…"
"…"
"…"
They are all quiet for a while before her father breaks the silent.
"Well, it's funny though now that I think about it."
"What is funny, father?" Kanade asks.
"Well, this is a little trivial, but apparently a psychic told me that my late younger sister was reincarnated to be my daughter, you, Kanade. Not that I believed it."
"…" Kanade is speechless.
"Well, it was all the more funny that I had already decided I will name you after my late younger sister when the psychic told me that." Her father continues, chuckling a little.
"…" still speechless, Kanade is thinking about something, 'Wait, don't tell me…'
"Father!" Kanade calls her father loudly, surprised him.
"W-wah. W-what is it, Kanade?" Her father responds, surprised that his daughter suddenly increasing her voice and calling him loudly.
"Had this…" She pauses, "Had this younger sister of your also received a heart donation before she died?"
"!" Her father is astonished.
"How… How do you know that, Kanade?" Her father asks.
"So she had?" Kanade tries to confirm.
"Yes, she certainly had. Three years before she died she had received a heart donation." Her father pauses for a while, reminiscing about it before continues, "She had got a new heart and had been able to live her high school life happily for 3 years before she died in a car accident.
"And how do you know about it, Kanade?" Her father asks again after he is finished.
"That's not important, father! Do you have any way that I could contact this psychic?!" Instead of an answer, she asks her father a question instead.
"W-what's wrong, Kanade?" Her father stutters.
"Just tell me, father!" Kanade roars.
"O-okay. U-umm… it seems I left her address there…" Her father murmurs as he goes to search for it in the storeroom.
It seems like there is a clue left for her after all.
Okay, that's the end!
So how was it?
