Meeting with the psychic

'Okay, am I prepared yet?' She asks herself as she is standing in front of the psychic's house.

Apparently, her father has the psychic's address, so she could conveniently visit the psychic's house.

Now, she is standing in front of the house, preparing herself one last time before ringing the bell.

*ring*

"Yes, I'm coming," Kanade hears a voice from the house after a while.

The next moment, the door opens, "Oh, you are…" The voice asks.

"Good day, Naoi-san, my name is Tachibana desu." Kanade bows deeply to the voice.

"Umm… do I know you?" The woman, Naoi-san, asks.

"No, we're not. But I heard you are a psychic, so I come to get some help from you." Kanade says.

"Oh, that huh? Sorry that was long ago, now I am a normal housewife. I'm no longer a psychic," Saying so, the woman tries to close the door.

"Please wait, Naoi-san! Could you please do me a favor and hear out my problem. I do have some compensation for your time!" Kanade shouts as the woman is closing the door.

"…Did you travel from far away," The woman asks.

"It's not that far, but…" Kanade responds.

"*sigh* Fine, you can come in." The woman says after a sigh.

"Thank you!" Kanade expresses her gratitude.

"So, what do you want to ask me abo- Oh?" The woman pauses in the middle of her sentence.

"What an interesting thing you have there, is it a holy relic?" The woman continues.

"Eh? A holy relic? What?" Kanade is baffled.

"Oh, I meant the thing on your finger, there." The woman points at the ring on Kanade's finger.

"Eh? You can see this ring?" Kanade asks.

"Oh? So it's a ring? And to answer your question, I do not see it, but I feel it, it radiates a kind of holy power, people with special ability like me could notice it."

"You have special ability?" Kanade asks.

"Well, of course, I was a psychic after all, so I do have some special ability."

"I see."

"So I suppose what you want my help with is related to this ring?" The woman asks.

"Yes, actually…"

And then Kanade explains her situation to the woman. How she has been having this dream and ring since 12. How after some incident she was able to regain part of her emotions back. How she did some research about the boy in her dream and got more clues. How all the clues had come to dead ends before she knew about the woman. Of course she also tells her what the woman said to her father that she is the reincarnation of her father's younger sister, and how she decided to visit her after knowing that the woman seems to have a way to know about her past life.

"Oh, so you are the girl from that time, huh?" The woman asks after Kanade finishes.

"Yes, although I should still be a baby back then and did not know anything about what happened."

"I see. So you are the reincarnation of Tachibana-san's younger sister huh?" The woman repeats.

"I have no idea," Kanade shakes her hand, "How did you know about it anyway, that I am the reincarnation of my aunt?" Kanade asks instead.

"…That's because of the power I have, I can't tell you the exact details of my power, but just take my words for it, I know you are the reincarnation of Tachibana-san's younger sister." The woman speaks.

"…" Although she hates to admit it, she believes she should take the woman's words for it. After all, the woman was able to know about the invisible ring on her finger without her saying anything.

"I see," finally Kanade relents, "And so, do you have any way you could help me regaining my memories from my past life?" She asks.

"…That would be quite difficult, actually." That is the woman's response.

"I see. So there is no way, huh?" Kanade says, disappointed.

"…No, there is a way, I am just not sure if it would work." The woman replies.

"Then, let me have a go. I have nothing to lose anyway, I can try it." Kanade asks.

"…Okay then," The woman says, before she turns her face to the stair, "Ayato! Come here!" The woman shouts to the second floor of the house.

"What do you call me for, mom?" A voice responds.

"Just come down here, Ayato, I want your help." The woman replies.

"Yes, yes," The voice says again before there is a sound of footsteps coming down from the stair.

"Oh? You have a guest, mom?" The boy says after he reaches the living room.

"Yes, you see, this girl wants some help from me related to spiritual matter." The woman says.

"Again?! I know that you used to be a very famous psychic, mom. But you are retired now, aren't you? Why would you still accept requests like that?" The boy says exasperatedly.

"Come on now, Ayato, I just couldn't reject a request from someone who travelled from far away just to see me."

"Yes, yes, whatever," The boy responds, "So what did you call me for?" The boy asks.

"Yes, I want you to use your ability to try to help this girl regain the memories from her past life."

"Memories from past life? That's a far-fetched one, little miss." The boy says to Kanade.

"Yes, I know." Kanade replies, feels a little annoyed.

"So could you help me, Ayato?" The woman asks again.

"Yes, yes, I will help the little miss here." The boy replies.

"What exactly can he help me with?" Kanade asks, seeing nothing that the boy can help her with.

"Oh? This good for nothing son of mine, huh? Although he is a good for nothing, not having any special ability like mine despite being a son of a psychic, he does exceed me in one thing; he can do hypnosis which I can't." The woman replies.

"Hypnosis?" Kanade repeats.

"Yes, Hypnosis, you have heard it, right? How people regain their memories from getting hypnotized."

"Yes, I have," Kanade replies.

"Although I don't know if it will work with a past life too, but you should try it, Tachibana-san."

"Try it? Getting hypnotized?" Kanade asks, feels doubtful whether she should try getting herself hypnotized. It seems dangerous. No one really wants other people to mess with their mind.

"Don't be afraid, miss, it's not that dangerous," The boy assures.

"What Ayato says. If you leave it in his hand, it will not be dangerous." The woman also assures.

"…"

After going silent for a while, in the end, Kanade decides to try it.

"Okay then, please let me try!"

"Then I will begin," The boy says as his eyes is turning red.

And so, Kanade's experience with hypnosis begins
