Chapter 28

Hawk & Dove

Watchtower/Meeting Room

It was early in the morning and heroes were switching over and taking over from other heroes. There has been a bit of criminal activities lately and everyone has been very busy trying to calm everything. Ash had been meaning to see Superman and Batman, but didn't seem to find anytime to meet up with them. But today, everything seems to have slowed down and and Ash is taking this time to finally meet up with them. Ash walked into the meeting room and he saw Superman and Batman standing in front of the main table of the room.

"Ash, glad to see you made it." Superman said.

"Well, everyone has been busy lately." Ash said. Batman wanted to know why Ash wanted to see them.

"Indeed. What did you want to talk to us about?" Batman asked. Ash was finally ready to make the announcement.

"Right. The reason I wanted to talk to you is to find out if me and Harleen can tell everyone about the wedding and everything?" Ash asked. Superman and Batman knew this was coming and to be honest, they didn't want this to happen since Ash would be leaving the Justice League along with Harleen after theey're married.

"Are you sure you want to do it so soon?" Superman asked, trying to deter Ash from it.

"Yes, me and Harleen talked about it a few nights ago and we felt that it was the right time." Ash said. Superman was trying to think of something.

"Fine, you can do it later tonight." Batman said. Superman looked at Batman, asking why he gave up so easily. Superman took a deep breath and looked at Ash.

"Yeah, tonight. We'll tell everyone there's an announcement at 6pm. Just make sure to keep it short and you and Harleen are there at that time." Superman said. Ash had a smile on his face. Everyone was going to find out tonight.

"Thanks you guys. I'll go find Harleen and tell her now." Ash said. He turned and exited the room. As soon Ash left the room, Superman turned to Batman.

"Why did you give in so easily? Don't you remember, we're trying to help him by not rushing into things." Superman said. Batman started walking away.

"I could tell there was no changing his mind. It was pointless trying to change it." Batman said.

"Do you want him leaving the League?" Superman asked. Batman stopped and looked at him.

"Ask this to yourself, Do you want him to leave later or leave now?" Batman asked. He then turned and walked out the room. Superman just stood there and thought about that question. He then realised that Batman probably did the right thing.

Hallway

Ashwas walking along the hallway, searching for his soon to be wife. He just couldn't wait to give her the good news. He also wondered how everyone else was going to react to the news. For the moment, everyone has been positive of the news. And yet, Ash had a feeling some of the people won't like the news for various reasons. But Ash was going to forget that feeling as he caught sight of his ever loving girlfriend, Harleen. She was talking with Ivy and May, who was holding Manaphy. When she saw Manaphy, she was overjoyed and everyone could see the love between the two. Ash thought it be best to get their attention.

"Hey." Ash said. This caught the girls attention.

"Hey sweetie." Harleen said. She walked up to him and gave him a kiss.

"Hey Ash, good to see you are well rested." Ivy said.

"Yeah. Even though it's quiet now, things are bound to pick up soon." May said. Ash knew she was right about that.

"Lets just be thankful that we get to rest now. It's good to see you and Manaphy together again. " Ash said.

"I'm so happy to have him back. I'm actually going to drop him off in the Pokemon room now before my shift starts." May said.

"That sounds like a good idea." Ash said. He then looked at Ivy. "What are your plans at the moment?"

"I was actually going to ask if I could use some of your grass Pokemon to work on some combo move." Ivy said. Ash couldn't see the harm in that.

"Of course. I'm sure anyone of them will be willing to help you." Ash said. He then had to talk to Harleen alone. "Do you two mind if I had a quick word with my beauty?"

"Go right ahead, we better get going ourselves." May said as she and Ivy left. Harleen turned to Ash.

"So did you talk to them?" Harleen asked. She knew Ash was going to talk to them about the announcement since they planned it.

"Yes. Everyone is being gathered at 6 tonight to tell everyone that you are becoming Mrs. Ketchum soon." Ash said. Harleen squealed.

"I can't believe this is actually happening. It doesn't seem real." Harleen said. Ash loved it when she looked happy.

"Believe it and I'm hoping that everyone else will be glad about the news." Ash said. Harleen knew what he was talking about and wanted to calm his mind.

"Ash, I know you want everyone to be ok with us leaving, but that's not going to happen. And remember, this wasn't mine or your decision. It is our decision." Harleen said. This seemed to work a little but she could see that he was still concerned. "Also Gary and Brock was happy about the news." Ash smiled at this.

"Yeah, that's true." Ash said. Just then, their receivers went off. Ash grabbed his. "What's going on?"

"Ash." Martian said. "There's a civil war happening at Kaznia and it's becoming uncontrollable. Queen Audrey have requested that you, Harley and Diana help out." Harleen couldn't believe her luck.

"This is perfect timing. My new hero costume is ready and it will look awesome on me." Harleen said. Ash smiled at her.

"I can't wait to see you in it." Ash said. He then talked into the receiver. "Where's Diana's location?"

"I'm sending you the meeting point now. I suggest you head off as soon as you can." Martian said.

"Ok, we'll be off soon." Ash said. He then looked at Harleen. "I'm going to pick up some of the Pokemon. Meet at the javelin bay in 2 minutes."

"Right." Harleen said. They both ran off. Ready for war."

Bar

Ash approached the bar that Diana and two other heroes should be in. Ash and Harleen landed the javelin 10 minutes away from the bar since there was no other clearing nearby. Harleen said she was going to stay with the javelin so she can get into her no hero costume. Ash was about to open the door until he heard voices.

"Put him down now."

"This guy needs to be taught a lesson."

"You need to calm down." Ash could tell there was a fight going on and quickly opened the door. When he opened it, he saw a lot of bodies lying on the floor. It looked like a massacre had happened in the bar. Ash looked over and saw his companions for the mission. Diana and a hero dressed in white and blue, Dove, was trying to calm down a hero dressed in red and white, Hawk, who was holding a bar goer up in the air.

"Say it again, I dare you." Hawk said. The bar goer was trying hard to get away.

"Hawk, stop now." Dove said. Hawk just ignored him.

"We don't have time for this. Put him down now." Diana said. Hawk had enough with the two of them.

"Will you two shut up. Why don't go to Kaznia already and leave me alone with this guy." Hawk said. He looked back at the bar goer and he disappeared right in front of him. "What the?"

"Good job Jirachi." The heroes looked over and saw Ash with Jirachi floating next to him. Hawk was angry and walked towards Ash.

"Who in the hell do you think you are?" Hawk asked. Ash could tell he was ready to throw a punch and decided to stop him. Ash powered up a aura punch and punched Hawk in the stomach. Hawk lost his breath and fell to his knees.

"Someone that can revoke your Justice League membership and to make sure you never do hero work again. What I just saw made me sick to my stomach. You're suppose to be a hero. Heroes don't prolong fights, they try to end it as soon as possible or avoid it all together. Keep that in mind." Ash said with anger in his voice. Hawk just stayed there in silence. Diana and Dove walked up to the pair.

"I'm sorry about my brother Ash, I tried to get him to stop." Dove said.

"Even though you're his brother, you are not him and he is his own person. You don't need to apologise." Ash said. He then looked at Diana. "I'm guessing you just arrived here yourself."

"Yes, they were fighting the patrons when I arrived." Diana said. Ash nodded at her response, accepting what she said.

"Ok. Now if you all remember, we have got a mission to do. Let's head to the javelin and get a debrief during transit." Ash said as he and Jirachi started heading out of the bar. Hawk managed to get up to his feet. Diana and Dove started to follow Ash. Hawk huffed a breath of annoyance before leaving himself.

Javelin

Ash and the heroes were on the Javelin, en route to Kaznia. While walking back to the Javelin, Hawk and Dove argued about how things were handled at the bar. The fighting that was going on was pointless and going nowhere. In the end, Ash and Diana told the pair to be quiet or they would be excused from the league for unprofessional behaviour. Ash and Diana can't really do that but they were willing to say anything to keep them quiet. They reached the Javelin and they saw Harley Quinn waiting outside for them. Ash saw her in her new costume and couldn't believe what he saw. Harley was in a new version of her old costume. She was wearing black and red trousers and crop top. She also wore her makeup differently and wore two pig tails in her hair. Ash loved her new look and liked that she was starting completely fresh with everything. Diana was flying the Javelin, while the others were seating in the back. And a certain two brothers have begun fighting again.

"Violence isn't always the answer, there are ways to sort out differences peacefully." Dove said.

"Please. Armies and Governments only know one language and that is war." Hawk said.

"There have been plenty of times where war was not needed." Dove said.

"Yeah? Like when?" Hawk asked.

"Throughout history." Dove said.

"You can't name one because you know you're wrong." Hawk said. As the two had been arguing, Ash had firmly pressed his hands against his ears, trying to block out the sound. He then looked over at Harley and saw that she had her headphones in, listening to music. He didn't want to disturb her if that is her way of relaxing before a mission. Ash just wanted something to block out the noise behind him. He had only one choice. He got up from the seat and walked towards Diana in the pilot seat. He reached her and stood next to her.

"How far out are we?" Ash asked. Diana looked over and saw Ash next to her, then she looked back outside.

"Do you really want to know or are you using this excuse to get away from those two?" Diana asked. She looked over again and saw Ash was trying to come up with a good answer. She smirked at his behaviour. "We're two hours out."

"Good." Ash said. "I don't know what to expect when we get there. Hopefully the damage has been kept to a minimum." Ash and Diana didn't say anything for a while. Then Ash remembered about his announcement. "Oh yeah, me and Harley are making the announcement later tonight." Diana looked at Ash at this point.

"Your wedding announcement?" Diana asked.

"Yeah, I can't wait to get the news out." Ash said. Then something happened that Ash didn't expect. Diana huffed. Why did she do that? "What was that?"

"Nothing." Diana said. Ash didn't like what was happening.

"Diana, is something wrong?" Ash asked.

"Nothing's wrong." Diana said.

"Diana, if you got something to say, I'd rather you say it to my face." Ash said. Diana stayed silent for a while.

"You're making a mistake." Diana said. What did Ash just hear?

"Me marrying Harley is a mistake?" Ash angrily asked.

"No, I support your marriage to Harley." Diana said. Ash wanted an answer.

"Then what?" Ash asked. It took a while before it hit him. "You don't support me leaving, do you?"

"No, I don't. I think you made a rash decision and you're only doing it to make Harley happy." Diana said.

"That's not it. Me and Harley both decided to leave, independently. Also, why do you have a problem in it? Superman and Batman are fine with it." Ash said.

"Their not." Diana said. Ash didn't see that coming.

"What?" Ash asked.

"They don't want you to leave either. They have been avoiding you on purpose to prolong your leaving." Diana said. Was this true? Did everyone put they're own needs before Ash's happiness? Ash couldn't take it and started to walk out the room. As he walked, Harley saw him and took her earphones out.

"Ash?" Harley asked. Ash didn't reply and continued to walk out. Harley got out of her chair and followed him. Diana now felt that she made a mistake. She should have kept her opinions to herself.

Kaznia

Ash and the others were walking through battered down buildings that looked like hell just rode through. When Harley caught up with Ash and calmed him down, Ash told Harley what Diana said. Harley was just as shocked as Ash was when she heard it. At that moment, Ash had two minds to phone up the League and say him and Harley were leaving at that very moment. Harley then talked him out of it and told him to think about make up a decision, after the mission. Dove got the two's attention and told them that they were there. They walked out of the Javelin and they were horrified at the state of the place. They knew there was a war going on, but the destruction was on a whole other level. As they walked on, they heard gun fire, a lot of gun fire. They were getting close.

"This isn't going to be good." Dove said.

"Are you kidding? This is going to be fun?" Hawk said as he punched his own hand. Dove can't believe he thought it was going to be fun.

"Can you be serious for once? People are dying out there." Dove said.

"They knew what they were getting themselves into." Hawk said. Diana wanted them to be quiet and focus.

"Right, from now on, you two are not to say another word about anything violence related." Diana said. The brothers were about to argue back but they saw her face and thought it would be a better idea to not push it. Ash then got Harley's attention.

"Harley, make sure to stay close to me." Ash said.

"Aw, do you need me to protect you?" Harley joked.

"I just don't want anything to happen to you. I just want to make sure you get back home safely." Ash said.

"And I'll make sure to protect you as well. No matter what, you watch my back and I'll watch yours." Harley said. Ash could only smile at her response. He though he wanted to protect here, there was no way to stop her protecting him.

"It sounds like it's just over this wall. Be prepared." Diana said. The heroes poked their heads over the wall and saw the chaos in person. Many bodies on the ground. Bullets flying through the air and tanks advancing towards each other. They couldn't believe the horror, soldiers were knocking each other to the ground and making sure they don't get up. They had to do something now.

"That's enough. I'm putting a stop to this now." Dove said as he was about to run down, but Ash stopped him.

"Don't go rushing in. You might do more harm then good." Ash said.

"Then what are we going to do?" Dove asked. Ash looked back at the battlefield and came up with a plan.

"I think our first moves should be to take out the tanks. There's hardly anyone near them and..." Ash didn't finish as the heroes heard metal clanging behind them. They looked and saw an active grenade. Ash reacted quickly. "Brace yourselves." Ash brought up a aura barrier and covered the heroes. The grenade went off and the heroes were blasted into the battlefield. They landed on the ground, in the middle of the war. Ash's vision was fuzzy. He looked side to side and everything looked like it was going in slow motion. Hawk and Dove were already in action, trying to stop everyone. Ash then felt someone kicking him in his side. He looked up and saw a soldier pointing his gun down at him. He was ready to pull the trigger. But before anything happened, a clunk was heard. The soldier looked dazed and fell to the ground which revealed Harley holding her bat. She reached down and picked up Ash. He looked behind Harley and saw Diana deflecting bullets away from the pair. He then saw that Harley was trying to say something.

"Sweetie, are you okay?" Harley asked. Ash shook off his daze and brought back his senses.

"Yeah, I'm fine. The explosion just caught me off guard." Ash said. At this point, Diana joined the pair.

"We won't be able to contain this. Our best chance is to regroup..." Diana was interrupted when Hawk thrown over the group. They looked at Hawk then at the direction that he was thrown from. They saw a giant robot towering over Dove. Dove was trying his best to push the robot back, but the robot picked up Dove and threw him to the side. Dove went through a wall. "What's that?"

"I don't know but I'm not waiting round to find out." Ash said as he charged in. Ash jumped in the air and charged a aura punch. But before he could connect the hit, the robot quickly landed a punch of it's own. Ash skid along the floor before stopping.

"ASH!!!" Harley shouted. Diana flew towards the robot and landed a punch on it, making it tilt back. She was about to land another punch, but she stopped suddenly. She looked at the robot's chest and saw a crest on it. She knew the crest. In that moment of distraction, the robot swatted Diana away which made her struck a wall. Harley knew she had to try to take it out.

"Let's see what Team Rocket done to my bat." Harley said. She pressed a button on her bat and it started transforming. The bat parted itself and showed the mechanics inside it. After moving parts about, it transformed from a bat to a giant mallet. "Oh yeah, this is me." She charged in with the mallet raised above her head. She then jumped up and was twirling in the air with the mallet. Before she reached the robot, she felt a slider on the mallet's handle. She slid the slider up and a strong jet of fire erupted out one end of the mallet. Her rotation speed quickened. Before she knew it, her mallet hit the side of the robot and made the robot stumble to the side. She gracefully landed on the ground. She then looked at her mallet again. "Wow, what an upgrade." A shadow cast over her. She looked up and saw the robot, ready to strike her.

"Harley, look out." Ash said as he ran in between the two. He put up an aura shield before the robot hit them. The force of the hit sent them flying and hit a wall. The force from the impact made the top half of the wall start to crumble. Ash and Harley saw this. Ash was quick to put up a protective dome as they were buried under the brick wall. Their vision turned dark. Time went by and they heard someone digging. They saw daylight and Hawk and Dove were over them. They helped the couple out of the rubble and saw Diana coming in for a landing. They also saw that both armies and the robot had left the area.

"Are you two ok?" Diana asked.

"Yeah, I was able to soften the blow and stop us from getting seriously injured." Ash said.

"What do we do now?" Dove asked. That was a good question.

"Anything that hasn't got that robot involved." Harley said. She might be on to something.

"Agreed, we won't get anywhere on the front line with the robot involved." Ash said. Dove then thought of an alternative.

"What if we manage to get the leaders of the army to talk to each other?" Dove suggested. Hawk was getting tired of the peaceful way.

"And I say that we keep going at that robot until we take it down." Hawk said. Diana stepped at this point.

"We might be able to shut it down. I recognise the crest on the chest plate and I know who built it. I can go see them now." Diana said. This caught everyone's interest.

"Shutting that robot down would give us a huge advantage. Is it dangerous where you're going?" Ash asked.

"No, I had weapons made by him plenty of times, I know what I'm doing." Diana said. Ash nodded.

"Ok. While you're away, we're going to take both leaders and get to talk and try to end this." Ash said.

"What's the plan babe?" Harley asked. Ash had a thought about the teams.

"Me and Dove will head to the north side and you and Hawk will go to the south. We'll meet up near the Javelin once we have detained both leaders." Ash said. Everyone seemed to think it was a good idea.

"Sounds good. Everyone go now. Time is going against us right now so do it quick." Diana said as she flew away. Ash looked at Harley and Hawk.

"Be careful you two." Ash said. Harley walked forwarded and gave Ash a quick kiss.

"You too." Harley said. Ash nodded then walked away with Dove following. Harley then walked the opposite direction with Hawk following her.

"I still think my idea was better." Hawk said.

North Side General Headquarters

At the northerners base camp, soldiers were everywhere in sight, heavy armoured vehicleswere driving along the dirt path, breaking in to the base site would be virtually impossible. In the biggest building, sat the commander at his war desk. He was writing out his next plan of attack which would be very soon. He was so focused that nothing could break his train of thought, but he suddenly stopped. He lifted his head up and looked into the distance.

"I must say, I am impressed of how you got here without raising the alarm." The commander said. Out of the shadows, Ash and Dove revealed themselves. "How can I help you gentlemen?"

"I think you know why we're here." Ash said.

"We want you to end this war." Dove said. The commander just smirked, stood up from his desk and looked at the heroes.

"I wasn't the one who started this war." The commander said.

"We are getting the other commander now as we speak. We are hoping that we can reach a peaceful agreement and end this violence." Dove said.

"You already lost a lot of men, don't lose anymore." Ash said. The commander looked away, pretending to think about what they said. He then looked at them.

"You make a valid point. Okay, let's go." The commander said. The heroes thought that was easy but they weren't going to complain.

"Okay, please follow us." Dove said. The heroes turned around and went to leave. But before they could go to far, a chair was thrown at them. They recoiled in pain and looked at the commander. To their surprise, the commander started to look different. Ash thought that he was wearing similar armour as Hades.

"But then again, I just love war." The commander said. He jolted forward and slammed Dove against the wall. Dove punched the commander in the face but he hardly flinched. "That tickled." He then threw Dove every his head and Dove made a crash landing on the other side of the room. Ash couldn't believe his eyes. How could someone do that with ease?

"Who are you, really?" Ash asked. The commander couldn't hide it anymore.

"I am Ares, the god of war." Ares said. Ash couldn't believe it, another greek god. After his encounter with Hades, Ash read up all greek mythology just in case he had a run in with one of them. "And I know who you are Ash Ketchum. I heard about your battle with Hades and how you pushed him to his limits."

"If you know that, then you better stop right now." Ash said.

"No, that's not going to happen." Ares said. He conjured up a sword out of thin air. He grasped the sword and got into a battle stance. "I want to experience it first hand." Ash saw no other way out of it. Ash brought up and aura sword and got ready to battle. Ares charged in and Ash defended himself. Ash quickly gave Ares a aura punch which made him push back. Ares charged in again. Ash decided to end this now. He jumped over Ares, catching him off guard. Ash then brought up a aura whip, threw it at Ares feet, catching them then pulling Ares towards the floor. Ares landed on the floor with a thud. He rolled over and he was met with a aura sword in front of his face.

"Stand down and come with us now." Ash demanded. Ares couldn't believe his abilities. The fight was one sided. But wasn't over yet.

"That's a good option, but I prefer this one." Ares said. Suddenly, Ash was grabbed from behind and lifted into the air. Ash looked round and saw that the robot had grabbed him. Ares got back up and walked back to his desk. He changed his appearance back to the commander and got on to the radio.

"Gather the troops. We are moving out now."

Southerns Camp Base

In the south, soldiers were regrouping and trying to recover from the attack earlier today. They were exhausted and hurt. They all knew that they were in a disadvantage with the north having the armoured robot. In the big tent was the commander and he was stressing. He needed to find a way to turn the war in their favour otherwise the north will win in no time.

"What do I do? Everything I come up with, that robot is there to stop everything. There's no way to get around it. If I had my hands on that robot, then I could take out the north myself." The commander said. He suddenly felt himself being hoisted up and flung over someones shoulder. "Hey, who are you? Put me down" He kept on shouting while Hawk continued walking.

"Shut up. We're meeting with the north leader and you two are going to talk and end this war." Hawk said. The commander kept struggling and accidentally kicked Hawk in the face. Hawk got mad and threw the commander to the ground. "No one kicks me and gets away with it." Hawk was about to punch the commander until a bat came between them. Hawk looked over and saw Harley looking at him.

"What do you think you are doing?" Harley asked.

"Teaching him a lesson." Hawk said.

"We're trying to get him to peace talk with the opposition and you start by beating him up. Not everything needs to come to violence." Harley said. Hawk didn't like the way she was talking to him.

"Do you think I'm going to take anything you say seriously? If you weren't part of the League, I would be taking you to jail myself, you criminal." Hawk said. Harley couldn't believe what she had just heard. She had saved the planet multiple times and people like him still think off her as a villain. Something just snapped in her mind.

"You have a lot of nerve saying that. Ever since we got here, all you have been talking about violence and how you have to be the toughest. If you think that's true, then I feel sorry for you. And don't think I haven't heard about your bar fight and how you were just picking for a fight. If anyone is the villain here, it's you." Harley said. Hawk was stunned at what she said. Here she is, trying to defuse any tension and here he is, about to beat up anyone just for the fun of it. Was she right? Was he worse then a villain. Suddenly there was a explosion outside. Hawk and Harley ran out and saw what was going on. The North was attacking. They were easily overpowering the injured soldiers. They saw the giant robot and something was on the robot. No, some people. They finally saw that Ash and Dove had been tied to the robot.

"ASH!!!" Harley shouted.

"We need to do something." Hawk said. The commander came out of the tent and saw what was happening.

"Attack now. Fire everything we got." The commander said. Suddenly there was a lot more gunfire going off. Hawk immediately went to the commander.

"Tell them to stop now, our friends are out there." Hawk said.

"They attacked when they knew we couldn't retreat. Either we take a stand now, or none of us sees tomorrow." The commander said. He walked away without saying another word. Hawk grind his teeth in anger.

"Hawk." Hawk turned round and looked at Harley. "We got to stop this ourselves. One of us will try to get Ash and Dove off the robot while the other stop the gunfire."

"I'll go after the robot. I promise to get them back safe." Hawk said as he started running towards the robot, dodging flying bullets. Harley wasted no time in trying to stop the soldiers. It didn't matter whose side they were on, they needed to be stopped. She ran towards one soldier and swung the bat at them, knocking them out. She then did a spinning kick on a approaching soldier. Ash and Dove were trying their best to get off of the robot but was showing little result. They were lucky not to get with the bullets but they had near hits where the bullets deflected off the robot.

"We need to get off this robot soon otherwise we are bound to be hit." Dove said.

"I can barely move as it is. But I can put up a barrier to protect us." Ash said. A small barrier appeared in front of Ash and Dove. Bullets were bouncing off the barrier.

"At least we're safe." Dove said. But he saw that Ash had a strained face.

"For now, my barrier won't be able to stay up long at this rate." Ash said. Harley had turned her bat into a mallet again and had knocked to soldiers to the side. Behind her, a soldier was aiming his gun, getting ready to fire at her. Before he pulled the trigger, Wonder Woman landed on the gun and broke it in half. The soldier was going for his knife but Diana pushed the soldier away before anything happened. Harley heard the gun braking and saw Diana was back.

"Diana, thank god you're back. Please tell me you know how to stop this." Harley said. Diana shook her head.

"I didn't get any information. It was a waste of time talking to that blacksmith." Diana said.

"We have to do something. Ash and Dove are about to get seriously hurt." Harley said. Diana looked in the distance and saw the heroes attached to the robot. She then saw Hawk making his way towards the robot.

"I'll head over t..." Diana was interrupted by a soldier hitting her in the head with his gun. It did nothing to her. Diana turned round, grabbed the gun and crushed it. She threw the broken gun to the ground and was about to punch the soldier in the face. At that moment, she stopped as she remembered something the blacksmith said that might help.

'Fists, gunsand knifes aren't always the answer, doing nothing might help you win more battles.'

That's it. Diana understood what he meant, how to stop the robot. Diana tripped the soldier and they fell on the ground. Diana then went to Harley.

"It reacts to the fighting." Diana said.

"What?" Harley asked.

"The robot, it functions with the fighting around it. But if we can get it away.."

"The robot would shut down. We got to get over there now." Harley said. They then started making their way to the robot, stopping soldiers fighting along the way. Hawk had nearly reached the robot, but had to get rid of soldiers trying to intercept him. Hawk had one soldier over his head and threw him to the side. Now he had a clear path to Ash and Dove. Hawk jumped towards them. Ash saw him coming and quickly brought down his barrier to let him through. Once he was on the robot, Ash brought the barrier back up.

"Miss me?" Hawk joked.

"There's no time for that." Dove said.

"I'm not the one who got myself captured." Hawk said as he was undoing Dove's binds.

"Guys, lets stop all of this first then fight each other." Ash said, wanting them to stay focused. Hawk finished untying Dove and then he turned to Ash.

"Ok, hold st..." Hawk didn't finish as the robot swatted Hawk and Dove away and broke the barrier. They both landed on the ground with a thud. The robot went over to them and raised its foot, ready to crush them. It set it's foot down and made contact. But not with the brothers. Hawk and Dove looked round and saw Diana had stopped the foot and keeping it in place.

"You're welcome." Diana said to the brothers. Suddenly, they were loud banging sounds coming from the robot.

"Oh, tin man. Come chase me." Ash recognised the voice and looked round. Harley had hit the robot with her mallet.

"Harley, what are you doing? Get out of here." Ash said. He didn't know the plan.

"That's the plan." Harley said. The robot turned round and was facing Harley. Harley turned and ran, the robot followed. Harley ran for minutes, getting the robot away from the battlefield. She had made it to a clearing, shots can still be heard but away from the action. She knew it was time. She turned round and stood her ground. The robot was approaching her and Ash was worried at this point.

"What are you doing? Keep on running." Ash said.

"I know what I'm doing." Harley said.

"But..."

"Sweetie, do you trust me?" Harley asked. Ash looked into her eyes and all worries that he had were now replaced with confidence.

"I do. I trust you." Ash said. Harley smiled at him. The robot had reached her. It was now or never now. The robot had raised it's fists, ready to slam them down. Harley just then, dropped her mallet. She was defenceless. What was she thinking? But what happened next surprised Ash. The robot didn't move. It was getting back to a neutral position and powered down. Harley ran up and started to get Ash down. "Harley, you did it."

"Why do you sound surprised?" Harley joked.

"Much more happy then surprised." Ash said. Harley finished untying Ash and he dropped to the ground. Harley went to pick him back up.

"Are you ok?" Harley asked.

"Yeah I'm fine." Ash said.

"But you won't be for long." A voice said. Ash and Harley looked over and saw Ares in the distance. Diana, Hawk and Dove arrived on the scene and Diana knew who the god was.

"Ares." Diana said.

"I had all this planned out. This war was going to spread through the world and I would gain power from the violence that would of occurred. But since you stopped it, you will satisfy my ambition." Ares said, drawing out a sword. He then started running towards them. "Fight me." Harley went for her mallet and the other heroes were advancing but Ash held his arm out to stop them. Ares jumped in the air and headed towards the heroes. "TAKE THIS!!!!!" The robot suddenly activated and punched Ares away from the group. Harley looked at Ash with a smirk on her face.

"You knew the robot would do that." Harley said.

"There was a reason I was a pokemon trainer." Ash said with a smile.

Watchtower

The javelin had returned to the javelin bay and the heroes were exiting the aircraft. Shortly after Ares was swatted away, both armies saw that they were being manipulated and the fighting wasn't getting anyone anywhere. Peace talks were held and a agreement was reached, ending the war. The robot was transported to the watchtower, ahead of the heroes and had been stored away. Never to be activated again. Hawk and Dove were ahead of the group with Harley behind them.

"You're right brother. Violence isn't always the answer." Hawk said.

"But violence can be part of the answer sometimes." Dove said. As Ash was walking along, Diana quickly caught up with him.

"Ash, I am truly sorry for what I said earlier." Diana said. Ash thought, with everything they had been through, it really wasn't that big of a deal.

"Don't worry about it Diana, it was probably a lot to process in a short time." Ash said.

"Still I should respect your wishes regardless. We founded the Justice League together and there's been a lot of times where you had saved the entire league. I was just afraid of change." Diana admitted. Now Ash understood where she was coming from and most probably Superman and Batman.

"To tell you the truth, I'm scared about what will happen to this place after I leave." Ash said. Diana looked at him, curiously. "But I'm more afraid if something happens to me and Harleen is left by herself. I've been lucky before but there will be a time when I might not be able to come back and not being able to see Harleen again. I'm sure you will understand what I mean at some point. Besides." Ash looked at Harley at this point. "There will always be heroes to save the day." They were now at the observation deck, with every personnel of the watchtower on the ground floor. Ash, Harleen, Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman were on the upper level. Superman looked at Ash.

"Everyone is here." Superman said. Ash knew this was it. Everyone was about to find out. He looked at Harleen. She smiled at him and took his hand, to show support. Ash took a deep breath and stepped towards the side with Harleen. Now was the time.

"I'm grateful that all of you have gathered here. I have some news to share with all of you. Well, Me and Harley here. We want you all to remember this. 2 years from now, you will be looking at Ash and Harleen Ketchum as we are getting married." Ash said. Harley lifted up her hand and showed the ring. There was excitement from the crowds. Everyone couldn't believe it. "We will try our best to get as many of you to come to the wedding but of course with our line of work, there's no guarantees." Ash's smiling demeanour slowly faded away. "But we thought we should let you know. As soon as we are married, we will no longer be active members of the Justice League." This caused murmurs in the crowd. "This wasn't a rushed decision. Me and Harleen had been talking about it for a long time and we really feel this will be the best time to start fresh and make a new life."

"We'll still come to visit every now and then, but we just want to be with each other as much as we can and we feel if we stay here, we wouldn't know if we ever see each other again. I hope you can accept the decision we have made." Harleen said. There was quiet for a little bit.

"We wish you luck." Green Arrow said. Soon the entire room erupted into applause. Everyone was happy for them. Ash and Harleen was happy with the reactions. Ash pulled Harleen closer and gave her a kiss. Harleen then put her head on Ash's shoulder. But something unexpected happened.

"Well, that's definitely something." Ash and Harleen turned round and saw Lois Lane behind them.

"Lois, what are you doing here?" Ash asked.

"Me and Superman are going on a date and he asked me to come here for this special moment. And I think a lot more people needs to know about this." Lois Lane said.
