Author's note: Hello everyone! Sorry for the late update! All I can say is that "Mother of Learning" is amazing. I spent quite a large chunk of my free time reading it from the beginning to the end. Well, that is my excuse for the late update anyway XD.
Here is another dose of reading medicine.
Enjoys!

Back to the Aferlife
"Hello, I want to speak with Anon," Akari says in English.
"Yes, it is me speaking, Akari-san," The expert replies in Japanese.
"Anon-san! You see Kanade-chan is…"
-o-O-o-
"…I see. I have to admit that I am quite astonished that she has already achieved an out-of-body experience… Such talent is a miracle…" The expert murmurs lost in thought.
"Anon-san?"
"Oh, sorry, I was lost in thought there. Let's see, for now, Tachibana-san has to continue practicing her newly acquired out-of-body experience state. She needs training for her to be able to do several things in that state. I bet she felt that the experience was useless as there was nothing she could do in that state, right?" he asks knowingly.
The nearby Kanade flinches when she hears that.
Bullseye
That flinch does not escape from the former psychic's observant eyes either.
"Yes, Kanade-chan really thought so. So what should we do, Anon-san?"
"For now, practice is all she needs to do. Willpower is something you train gradually, not instantly. First of all, she needs to be able to achieve that state constantly, ignoring everything else for now."
"Then…When would she be able to have a chance to see her boy, Anon-san?" Akari asks tentatively.
"!" Kanade flinches again.
SHE SO WANTS TO KNOW THAT.
"I don't know, Akari-san. It is completely dependent on her progress and a bit of luck since she still needs to search for the dimension that the boy is in once she is proficient in this. However, if taking into account her astonishing talent that I can't even accurately measure…I would say it will take months," The expert answers after he has considered it.
"It will still take months even with her talent!?" Akari shouts, feeling shocked.
"Don't underestimate the practice, Akari-san. Even months are considering an extremely short time considered the extent of her goal," Anon warns.
"Okay, I understand. We will try to be more patient. I will also convince her of that. It is fine to consult you if we meet with any additional problems, right?"
"Of course, Akari-san, it would be my pleasure," he agrees.
-o-O-o-
'So what should I do now?' Kanade muses to herself as she is standing in front of Naoi's household.
After that, Akari encouraged Kanade to do her best and politely but sternly advised her to go back home for the day as it is starting to get quite late.
She looks at her phone.
16:30
'Well, I guess I will just go back home.'
-o-O-o-
'That way is…' as she is about to reach her house, she sees a path and stops. Where it leads to is…
'The path to Yuzuru's tombstone.'
Abandoning her original plan, she walks along her new path.
-o-O-o-
"Hello, I come once again, Yuzuru."
She says after she has arrived at the tombstone.
She once again gives a silent thank you to Igarashi-san for showing her this place.
"You know what Yuzuru? I am not satisfied after all. Last time, when I left here, I thought that I was already satisfied. I thought I already did everything that I should have done and it was the time to put a closure on everything…"
Shaking her head, she continues, "But that was a lie after all. I meant, how could I ever forget you Yuzuru!? Now that I have my memories back! Now that I know just how much of an important of a person you are to me! Now that I love you so!"
Kanade clenches both of her fists tight as she bits her lower lips.
This is her first outburst in a while. The current life has changed some parts of her. Now that she was not in the hospital's room all day during her entire childhood, she knows how to express her emotions better compared to her past self.
Something is never meant to be changed no matter the environment, however. She is still relatively emotionless compared to her peers, but not so much that she can't make her wish known. And this is one of the times for her to express her desire.
"…That's why Yuzuru…" she begins again, trying to calm down her overflowing emotions.
"…I won't give up. EVER. Now, I finally have a clue as to how to meet with you again. I believe that we will be able to meet soon Yuzuru," she gives an angelic smile.
"There is also this ring…"
Kanade gently and cherishingly caresses the ring on her left ring finger with a fleetingly small, but beautiful smile.
"I would like to believe that the existence of this ring is the proof that we will meet each other again, Yuzuru, and It definitely does. I mean, why else would I have this ring!? Why else the ring from a dream would exist on my finger!? Although I am not much of a believer in such a concept, this is fate, Yuzuru! It is fated that we will meet again! However, I don't believe that fate will come if I do nothing. That's why I will spare no efforts! I will use my everything! All for that we can meet once again!"
Time passes in silence as she stares determinedly at the tombstone.
After another 15 minutes pass, she speaks again.
"…I won't come to this tombstone anymore, Yuzuru," she declares.
"The next time I talk to you will be in person, not across the stupid tombstone like this ever again!"
"Goodbye, Yuzuru, until next time."
Kanade turns back and walks away without looking back at the tombstone even once.
-o-O-o-
'No way!'
Kanade bitterly thinks so as she is lying on the ground.
It all happened when she was walking home considering her future plans.
A speeding car was coming for her and the distracted girl couldn't avoid it so they crashed.
Her consciousness is blurred by the intense pain.
She uses her last-ditch effort to take a look at her phone.
19:00
No wonder she accidentally met with a speeding car. It is the time for those degenerates to start their nightlife at a pub or something.
'To think I would die from a car accident again…And I was so close…so close to being able to meet with Yuzuru…'
That is her last bitter thought. The next moment, she loses consciousness.
It is no surprise that her badly-injured self failed to see the glow on the ring. The illumination is like the sun itself.
"Finally, it is time."
Some dignified voice murmurs.
-o-O-o-
'My awareness is quite blurred…'
It is not wrong to say that she feels very strange right now, at least for the current Kanade.
However, she is a little familiar with this strange feeling; it is like she has experienced it before.
'The light…'
In front of her, there is a blinding light. Her intuitions tell her to follow it and far be it for her half-aware self to deny them.
It is surprisingly difficult to walk towards the light, but because of that unexplainable familiarity, she can somehow manage.
She doesn't know where the familiarity comes from, but still feeling thankful nonetheless; she wouldn't be able to walk towards the light otherwise.
'Where would it lead me to?'
Eventually, after walking towards it for a while, the light suddenly grows bigger and completely engulfs her.
She unconsciously closes her eyes for a moment, shocked at the sudden light.
After a moment, when she opens her eyes, familiar and nostalgic scenery greets her.
'This is…'
It is the Afterlife.
Done!
Do you know where the familiarity comes from? I won't explain it as it is already heavily implied in the story. Here is the hint: What did Kanade recently up to?
No need to guess what will happen in the next chapter, eh?
Though what will happen should be no surprise, I bet I can still surprise you in the next chapter. Look forward to it.
Next time, let's enjoy their long-await meeting.
Please read and review.
