"Did you ask? Did you ask?"
"Spencer , calm down. He's still sleeping."
"I reckon. I can see the evidence on your shoulders."
"Someone, get Spencer. He's being annoying again."
Before the doctor could retort, his brother moved from the coffee machine and wrapped her arms around his waist from behind. She kissed Spencer's side temple, laughing at the pout he gave. "Spencer,
stop harassing Logan. And what do you mean 'ask him'?"
"Big mouth.", Logan growled.
"I can spill.", Lola volunteered.
"No."
"But-"
"Logan, I have a question."
The group turned to see Mike waltzing into the kitchen, clad in an oversized shirt. His face formed with confusion as he held up his left hand. Mike ,Sonny and Neal, also puzzled while Bastiana ,Lola, Soencer and Dana grinned when they all saw a sparkling on Mike's ring finger.
It was a simple ring, silver with a tint of blue, emerald cut.
Logan didn't want to go too all out with it.
"Yeah, Mike?"
The lawyer stared at the ring on his finger, both baffled and amazed.
"Um... This ring wasn't on my finger last night, was it?"
"It wasn't... until you fell asleep."
Mike blinked this time, staring at his partner. "Did... did you put it on?"
"Yes. Isn't that what someone would do to the person they're engaged to?"
"Wha... what? Engaged?"
Logan gave a chuckle, heading over to the slightly younger man, putting him in an embrace. "Yeah. Engaged. As in me asking you to marry me. Give you my last name, you know? A wedding, a honeymoon. All that jazz."
Mike blinked once more, obvious to all their friends grinning now. He stared into dark browns, a red tint on his cheeks. "You... you're asking me to marry you? You want... to marry me?"
Logan nodded, planting a firm kiss on Mike's nose then forehead. He rubbed the tips of his fingers on the other's lower back, hands on his own shoulders. "Of course I do. I don't know who else I rather grow old with. Who I would go crazy and possessive over. So do you feel the same?"
Within half a second ,Logan found himself holding up a rather excited Mike, legs clamped around his waist and arms hugging his neck.
"Yes! I do! I will marry you!"
"Is that what you were so secretive and giddy about yesterday?", Neal asked at Dana
"Guilty as charged."
"Yup. Logan told us not to tell.", Lola replied, her phone out as she shot pictures of the newly engaged couple. "Adorable. Spencer, you remember how you proposed to me?"
"Yeah! Like I could forgot. You were crying in the middle of Sonny and Mike's living room..''
"You having the nerve to get yourself killed after you asked me to officially become a Ross."
"Good times."
"You two have some danger kink going on and that worries me.", Dodds deadpanned.
"Like you and Sonny could talk.", Bastiana reminded.
By now, Logan and Mike were stargazing in each other's eyes, holding hands over a plate of freshly cooked bacon.
"Hey, hey. At least, we keep it in the bedroom."
"Yeah, right. And I'm a purple and pink striped platypus with an unicorn horn."
"So, soon to be Ross-Sanders and Ross-Sanders , when can we set up for the celebration party? I'm dealing with the music and catering.", Dana announced.
"I get to help! Ooh, I already got some ideas for the decorations.", Sonny voiced.
Mike glanced at Logan who shrugged. "I guess they started planning our wedding."
"You damn skippy. Eric, dress or pants?", Spencer asked.
"W-wait! I'm not wearing a dress!"
"But you'll look so beautiful in one!", Dodds pouted.
"No, Mike. No."
"It will make it easier for Logan on your honeymoon."
"At least wear lingerie.", Neal added.
"Oh my god. We're not having this conversation in front of my brothers."
"But there's little time left!"
"We just got engaged!"
"And?"
"Unbelievable."
Mike quickly escaped out the kitchen, speeding up when Bastiana, Lola, Dana and Sonny followed. Dodds turned to Logan, bumping his shoulder. "You know, they're gonna drive him up a fucking wall."
"Should I go save him?"
"If you want a sane spouse, I recommend it."
Logan ran off, already in husband mode.
With him gone, Dodds turned to Neal and Spencer.
"The only person who had left is Bastiana. When is going to tie the knot "
"We aren't having this conversation right now!"
"When she damn well feel like it!"
"Besides, I don't think they need to go overboard with planning three weddings at once."
"Jessica, oh god…" Benson gasped, Jessica's lips dipping along the elegant planes of her body, hands curving around flat hips. Jessica, by comparison, was devoid of androgyny; she wore her sexuality like a weapon, toned and curved, Benson wrapping her hands around Jessica's waist to draw her closer.
Jessica's lips were impossibly soft, perfectly bowed. Benson shuffled hands under her blouse, tracking upwards along her stomach, fingers teasing the fabric of her bra. Jessica's head dipped lower, dropping kisses from the edge of Benson's collarbone to the central breastbone, ducking lower, head resting in the faint pillows of Olivia's breasts.
Olivia's head tilted back, exposing her long throat. "Are you sure?" she asked, voice careful, spun sugar in its delicacy.
Jessica glanced along Olivia's thin body, purring lightly, nipping at her earlobe. "If you are," she replied, voice liquid velvet, tempting, rich, textured. "Oh, you beautiful thing…"
They collapsed against Olivia's bed, Jessica laughing lightly as Olivia tugged away the duvet, giving them space. In a fractional moment, she had returned, fingers tracing the buttons of Olivia's shirt, examining the slight strain on the button over her breasts. Jessica made a faint noise of want; Olivia took the cue, sliding the buttons open to reveal the laced, padded contours of Jessica's breasts. "Oh," Olivia whispered softly, Jessica shivering deliciously as Olivia's cold hands traced over them.
Jessica took a further initiative, hands pulling Olivia's jumper up and over her head; her impossibly-slim figure a marked contrast to Jessica's toned hourglass. Jessica's hair fell past her shoulders, Olivia's cropped in a pixie cut that left enough to be grabbed, enough to run fingers through, tantalising for Jessica to trace through.
Fingers tracked down Olivia's beautiful body, finding the clasp on the trousers; skirts were impractical in SVU, given the consistent threats of being in high-end governmental roles. It was fair to say that Olivia's body was even more beautiful naked than clothed; Jessica tugged the trousers off, running hands over the threaded thighs, shaped calves.
Olivia tugged at Jessica's trousers with a hint of frustration, unable to find the right angle to loosen the button; Jessica intervened, popping open her trousers and sliding out of them with gorgeous motions. Olivia couldn't believe how gorgeous she was; the exercise gave her an overall tone, Olivia's hands sliding over her thighs with a sense of almost-disbelief.
She was distracted by Jessica's fingers, trickling underneath her underwear, dancing lower; a moment of assessment, before a mercilessly-aimed press against her clit. Olivia gasped slightly, shifting, trying to get more of something.
Jessica kissed her again, their bodies echoing one another so absolutely. "More," Olivia whispered, showing more, asking for more; Jessica smiled, so refined.
"My pleasure," she replied easily, and obliged.
After a few hours ,Jessica Pearson step out of the elevator walking toward the ladies room. After what happened with Olivia Benson ,Jessica come to her office trying to work but her mind was stuck in Olivia.
After Jeff left her she swore that she will leave the ideas of love and relationships as the last one almost had hurt her. Jeff was a man of his word and a smart one ,the only man which her eyes had catch. He treated her as a queen and she thought that beautiful trip in Paris , the name manager closes her eyes and took a breath.
For the love of god ,she was Jessica Perason the ironlady of Pearson-Specter-Litt. She could not let her feeling get over her but Olivia Benson was..
Jessica'd known from the beginning, from the first time she ever laid eyes on her, that this was it for her. This was it for her life….SHE is what he had been missing. After their first meeting ,Jessica asked around about her. Jessica knew her reputation. She was not only an exemplary detective, but she was known as that Manhattan SVU detective who really cared. Her job didn't stop once the perp was arrested. She cared about the vics. She was passionate about her job, about seeing justice served but she was also a protective mama bear with the victims. It wasn't all about arresting the perp for Olivia…she always made sure the survivors got any help they needed to begin to heal. Something else that always drove Jessica insane….Olivia is beautiful.
Jessica had never seen a more beautiful woman in her life. She'd dated her fair share of beautiful women and men…sshe'd done just fine. But Olivia Benson was different. The first thing he'd ever noticed about her was her eyes. She has the biggest, deepest darkest chocolate brown eyes she had ever seen….eyes you could get lost in. True, she was no helpless woman…she was a detective for God's sake. She was active…physical…and damn does that woman have some curves. Jessica loved every part of her, inside and out.
And her son ,Noah Benson. A beautiful and smart boy that Jessica had honored to meet . The little boy had smiled at her and said that she was pretty , for some reasom her heart melt at the sight of the boy. Jessica never had the thought to have a child but Noah ,was different.
Jessica almost want to send flowers to Bastiana thanking her because of her ,Olivia and Jessica went on a date.
Bastiana Wolf ,the woman who turned to be a friend to Jessica and not ana enemy. It was pleasure to have a woman like in by her side , she was fanny and smart. They spent a lot of their nights together driking and gossiping about their works and lives. She could understand why Dana Scott was so fond of her.
Her thoughts was cut of by the sight of Dana Scott-Caffrey. The woman was stood in front of the mirror trying to get herself together ,Jessica could see the trace of tears on her cheeks.
Unawareed that Jessica Pearson was watching her ,Dana was trying to stop the like her wasn't supposed to cry then again ,Donna Paulson wasn't supposed to accusation that the child Dana was carrying was not her husband's but Harvey Specter.
Dana wanted to scream and punch someone. Ok ,she spend a lot of time with Harvey because of the job but would never cheat Neal with Harvey Specter. She loved her husband and right niw ,Dana regreted which turned down a job offer of Bastiana. She decided to stay at Pearson-Specter-Litt because of Mike, after all they could not trust a man with a ego bigger than Texas and a woman who things she is some kind magician to look after their boy.
Donna was never fond of her but saying Dana cheated on her husband the secretary was crossed the line. Dana wants to laught because she knew that behind all the mean words by Donna ,jealousy was hide. Before Dana ,Mike used to hung out with Donna and Harvey but after the truth come to light ,Mike showed his real self. Yes ,smiles at Donna, but she doesn't get the skinny caramel mocha with whipped cream on her desk every morning the way Dana does.
"Dana?"
Dana doesn't startle, exactly. She turns sharply, and for the first time Nemesis met Jessica's eyes and stared into her. If she wasn't so sure it wasn't possible, she would have sworn that Dana was picking apart every thought and memory that made up Jessica's life.
"Jessica," she says.
Jessica frowned but kept quiet.
Dana dry her tears trying to be stoic in front of Jessica. She does not show a trace of weakness but the tears is continuing to run over her face.
''Are you ok?''Jessica asks gently the woman taking some steps towars her. Ok ,maybe she was not fond of the woman but she was employee of her.
''I am fine''Dana caressing her cheek with her thumb but her lips are pressed together, she looks like she's about to cry.
"Hey, hey Dana…" Jessica wraps her arms around her once Jessica hears her sobbing and she places her head on her chest.
''I did not cheated on Neal''
It was the ponly thing that came out of Dana's mouth while Jessica looks at her shocked.
''Why are you saying that?''
She keeps smiling and Jessica can't help but ask her why.
That's when she hits Jessica with the truth.
"Well, I'm pregnant." Jessica's eyes widened, a small smile coming to her face.
"Well, Dana, congratulations. I'm sure your husband is excited." Jessica stated.
Dana took a breath. "He is." She started, taking another breath.''And everyone in the firm congratulation me but other..''
''Harvey and Donna?''
The look on Jessica's face gave her the answer to that.
''Donna says that I cheated on Neal with Harvey because I spent a lot of my time with him.'' Dana whispered.
Jessica laid her hand softly on Dana's shoulder..''You know that the child is your husband. Screw the others. I will take care of that.''Jessica had a soft spot for her pregnant was viewed as the mother of the hospital. Praising for good work, scolding when needed.
Before Dana could answered ,the door of the bathroom opened and Mike walked in. A worried looks over his face
''Dana!''
Mike flung his arms around woman's waist and squeezed hard. The woman wasted no time in wrapping her own arms tightly around Mike's waist.
"I am Ok." She told him as they pulled back from the hug.
"I am here''Mike said.''I heard the rumors from the reception and I came right to you ,to see if you are ok!''
''I don't did it''Dana said refusing to let Mike goes.
Mike looks at her shocked. He could never believed Dana cheated on Neal, the love between them was clear and of someone accuse his sister-in-law for cheating ,then he/she is an idiot.
During their hug ,Jessica was watching them with a smile over her face but felt a little jealous. Sure , she has a sister who will always be there for her with her hugs and advices but the relationship between Mike and Dana was always amazinged her. Dana and Mike was the new dynamic duo of the firm ,they go at the trials together kicking some ass and they always walking around the firm like they are Superman and Wonder Woman.
''What are you going to do?''Mike asks out of blue and Jessica surpised by the serius tone of his voice.''I want her to be punish"
Dana rolles her eyes and for a second she saw Bastina in the blue eyes of the puppy. She taught them well.
''I will speak with her.''Jessica says and Mike nod his head.
''I dont want stress you out Jessica but if Bastiana find out about that ,Donna will be gone.''He said, amused. Dana huffing out breaths of laughter.
''Don't worry''Jessica says walking away from them.''I will take care of the situation.''
''Oh Mike''said Jessica standing at the doorway.
Mike with his arm around Dana's shoulder ,looked at his boss with a rose eyebrow.
''Congratulations''
Spencer surveys the kitchen island, then gives Lola a wry look. "You sure we have enough options?"
Lola rolls her eyes and wipes her hands on her apron. "Look, you said you wanted something interesting. I got imaginative."
Spencer smiles as he sits at the island and looks over the collection of mini-cakes again. "There is no way we can eat all of these."
"Don't worry. I told the others we were doing this afternoon, so they're ready to take on the leftovers."
Spencer chuckles and takes a moment to appreciate Lola's flour-dusted hands and mussed hair. She's in his element in the kitchen, whether she's making them a quick lunch or deciding the best way to choose a wedding cake flavor is to bake them nine-nine-varieties on her day off. "Okay, where do we start?"
Lola reaches into the fridge and pulls out a bottle of champagne, then opens the freezer and pulls out two frosty champagne flutes. "A toast."
"You are ridiculous."
Lola flashes him a grin as she undoes the foil around the mouth of the bottle. "You love it."
"Every single day," Spencer agrees. He jumps when Lola pops the cork and appreciates the lines of her body as she pours them each a glass. "There's a parallel universe where you're a chef, and I've spent a lot of lunches with Bastiana lusting after you."
Lola laughs and slides Spencer his glass. He holds up his own. "To this universe, then. Where you still get to enjoy everything I cook, and then we get to kiss after."
Spencer taps their flutes together. "To our marriage," he says, and watching the way Lola softens at the word makes him blink away tears. "I can't wait."
"Me, either," Lola replies.
They both take a ship of champagne, then Lola slides over a cake with bright yellow frosting. "All the frosting's buttercream. I just dyed the batches different colors to help me remember which cake was which."
Spencer shakes his head but doesn't say anything about Loka thinking only having one type of frosting was some sort of shortcut. Instead, he picks up his fork and-at Lola's nod-cuts into the mini cake.
"It's lemon-vanilla," Lola says as ahe cuts off her own bite. "The magenta one over there is lemon-raspberry."
Spencer eats his bite and hums at how good it is. The lemon is bright and sharp, the vanilla rich and deep. He takes a sip of champagne and isn't surprised that it folds into the other flavors beautifully.
The mini cake with the blue frosting is blueberry cinnamon. The black-frosted cake is red velvet.
"This is the best red velvet cake I've ever had, and the answer is still no."
Lola laughs and leans over to wipe a bit of frosting from the corner of Spencer's mouth. "You can only see dead armadillo butt, even when I make it?"
"Steel Magnolias is a film that haunts you. I do like the idea of a black-frosted cake, though."
The white-frosted cake is coconut-black pepper. The pink-frosted cake is raspberry.
"I like it, but we were also talking about a macaron tower, and I'd rather have raspberry macarons."
"Oh, that's a good point,"Lola replies. "I skipped putting lime in anything for the same reason."
"We need a sweeter flavor to balance those two, then."
Lola hinks for a moment as he pours them both more champagne. "Maybe something with a little spice? There are a few bakeries that do savory macarons."
"Let's put it on the list," Spencee says and falls even more in love when Lola turns to write a note on the current version of the wedding planning list they're keeping on the fridge.
They have the lemon-raspberry. The orange-frosted cake is peach-ginger.
"Top three," Spencer says, taking another bite.
Lola beams. "I was hoping. I'm really proud of it."
Spencer takes a third bite before Lola takes the rest of the cake away. "Put it in the fridge. That one doesn't go to the family."
Lola chuckles and does as she told.
The dark blue-frosted cake is classic chocolate. The light blue-frosted cake is pink champagne. The final cake is frosted in purple, and it's plain yellow cake.
He pauses, fork halfway out of his mouth, and stares hard at what's still on the plate. He's suddenly hit with memories of every family wedding he ever went to.
"I know it's a bit cliche, but everyone had it at weddings when I was growing up," Lola says. She takes a second bite and closes her eyes. Spencer watches the happiness that rolls across his face and thinks that's exactly how he feels on the inside.
"I was thinking the same thing," Spencer says and finishes off his champagne. He watches Lola refill them both and looks at all the little cakes with a few bites taken out of them. "There's something to be said for a classic," he says and gives Lola a warm look.
Lola smiles in return. "We could have the most ridiculous macaron tower in all five boroughs. The cake can stay easy."
"It feels right," He says.
She leans across the island and meets Spencer for a kiss. "That's all I want for us," she says.
He hooks two fingers into Lola's apron before he can step back. "Me, too," he says and kisses her again.
Few hours later ,Reid walked toward his brother holding two cup of coffee. Carisi smiles at his brother ,while the other look at them. Dodds asked how things were and the three conversed with each other, sometimes words broken with laughter and teasing onLola's expense. Everyone looked on with wonder and amazement. The relationship of the Ross-Caffrey-Wolf-Reid-Carisi siblings had always been a mystery to the others. They were overly protective with each other, Bastiana more so as she takes on the position of being a surrogate mother to her brother and sisters'. They respected each other and they simply adore the other.
''I can not do with anymore!''Reid said eagerly.''They drive me crazy!''
"Organising a wedding is hardly fun for a man," Carisi pointed out. "I can still remember the torture of organising my own wedding."
"You didn't organise the wedding, Bastiana did," Dodds retorted. "All you did was sort your suit."
"Actually that was on Neal,"Reid told his brother-in-law. "He dragged Sonny to the tailors and he made all the decisions."
"As I said wedding planning is girls stuff," Carisi shrugged. "Trust me Spency, once you've done your bit head for the hills and leave the girls to it."
"Do not follow his advice," Dodds told the doctor. "The last groom who followed his advice on leaving wedding planning to the women, ended up getting stiches when his bride threw a plate at his head and he didn't duck in time."
"It's not my fault Dana is mental," Carisi defended himself. "How was I to know she was going to throw plates at Neal when he failed to help her pick out the flowers?"
Reid and Dodds's story drew laughter from almost everyone at the table, and Reid noticed that even Hotch and Barba smiled at the story.
"Do you really need a wedding reception and a party?" Dodds asked.
"The reception will be very formal, with speeches, dances and the cake. Whereas the night-time party will just be a bit of fun," Reid explained. "It's what people do these days."
"The party will be amazing, I promise," Carisi said. "Logan and I are organising the entire thing, and Logan knows a thing or two about throwing the most amazing parties."
"What Bastiana needs as soon as possible is a list of who'll be staying at the hotel and for how long," said Reid.
"Hotel?" Rollins queried. "What hotel?"
Reid along with his brothers ,rolling their eyes at blonde's question. BAU and SVU's teams were eavesdropping ,clearly the wedding had been discussed in great detail and Garcia was throw a tantrum because she did not involed at the wedding's plans. Actually ,no one of the team know something about Reid's wedding , nor the when or where ,Prentiss doubts that they will receive an invitation to the wedding, as none of the members of the doctor's family are fond of BAU's team. They hacked their personal files and JJ harasment Reid.
"We've hired a hotel for the weekend," Reid explained.
"A whole weekend? Isn't that overkill?" Morgan asked. "It doesn't take a whole weekend to get married."
"We thought it might be nice to spend the day before the wedding relaxing and spending time with family, and friends" Dodds said.
"Do you have any idea how expensive it will be hire a hotel for a whole weekend?" Rossi asked.
''Why?''Asks Carisi.''Are you the one who gonna pay the bill?'
Rossi sniffed.
''It is crazy.''Reid says throwing his head. ''Lola went balistic as she could not find a perfect hairstyle to match with the dress. Neal drags me at his personal tailor while Dana calls at 3p.m wanting to talk about flowers and the reception.''
''I will elope with Lola''Reid said laughing in crazy glee. Dodds smirked.
''You talk about eloping with Lola and Bastiana will have an aneurysm'' Carisi told his brother. Now Reid laughed.''We ,it'll be fun watching her head explode.''
''You said wedding's plans is crazy?''Dodds asked impatiently.
''You remember how the fuck you proposed her?''
FLASHBACK
"Tell me I'm beautiful. Tell me you love me. Tell me you love my butt, and that it doesn't matter if I'm two sizes bigger than when we met. Tell me you don't care that I have crooked teeth."
Mike Dodds-Carisi opened the front door and stared in concern at Lola. She leaned unsteadily against the doorframe and took a deep breath. There were tears in her eyes and on her face. She smelled strongly of alcohol and misery. Dodds looked back into the house for a moment.
"Sonny?" Dodds called out. "I….I think it's for you."
"I shouldn't have come," Lola sighed, taking a stab at drying her eyes. She turned to go and nearly fell. Dodds pulled her inside the house and closed the door.
"Lola, are you okay?" Mike worried, taking her hands and rubbing tenderly. It was unseasonably cold for early spring, and she was not wearing a coat.
"Just tell me I'm beautiful. I need to hear that I'm beautiful."
"Lola Kinney, of course you're beautiful. You always have been, and you always will be, inside and out. You are exaggerating your change in size. In the time I have known you, you have actually lost weight. Besides that, your teeth are without a doubt the straightest, cleanest, most perfect…."
Lola threw her arms around Mike's neck and backed him up against the wall, smashing their mouths together. His eyes shot open wide, and he struggled to get out of her clinging grip.
"SONNY!?" Mike called out before Lola seized him again in an even-more-ardent kiss. While the top halves of their bodies were locked together, the bottom half of his body was trying to get away from hers, because she was ruffling her fingers up under the hem of his tee-shirt.
Sonny emerged from the tv room, carrying the remote and looking cross.
"Everything…oh! Whoa! Lola, would you get your lips and hands off my husband?" Sonny scolded as he pulled the two of them apart. Lola let go of Dodds, who was panting for breath, backing away from her, truly frightened.
"He doesn't love me anymore!" Lola sobbed.
"I love you very much, but platonically," Dodds stressed to Lola, cautiously taking her hand and petting it again.
"No! Spencer… it's Spencer! He's seeing someone else. He's got a girlfriend. He's cheating on me," Lola cried. Dodds opened his arms, and Lola hid in his embrace, crying against his chest.
"Tell me what happened," Sonny said deeply as he pulled out his gun and checked the number of bullets in the clip.
"I came home," Lola said, taking a deep breath and gesturing with one hand. The team had been gone all week and had returned to town only a handful of hours ago. "There's messages all over the machine for him from some little bitch named Zara….."
"Zara?" Sonny echoed, putting away his gun. Mime's eyes narrowed.
"Weren't there messages on our machine from a Zara too? She wanted you to call?" Dodds asked. Sonny shook his head quickly no and gave Dodds a meaningful stare. Of course, that went right over Mike's head.
"Spencer is cheating on me. I just know it," Lola cried.
"Lola, no, come on. Maybe it's a misunderstanding," Dodds offered. "Spencer is not the sort of man who would step out on you while you were away on work. He's not that kind of man," Dodds said, feeling helpless in the face of her overwhelming grief. He looked to Sonny for help. Sonny was dialing his phone and smiling.
Smiling?
"Brother? Yeah, it's Sonny. Are you at home?"
"No. That's where I was," Lola interrupted impatiently.
"Where are you?" Sonny asked.
"He's probably with that cheap slut right now," Lola sobbed. Mike hugged her again and failed to be comforting, but not for lack of effort.
"Spence, you need to come over. Right now. It doesn't matter if you're not ready to do this. I'm serious. Get over here now," Sonny ordered.
"How could he cheat on me? After all we've meant to each other? After I jeopardized my career to be with him? ?"
"Maybe you're wrong," Dodds offered again. "Spencer is not a cheater. He worships you. I will be so disappointed in him if he's cheating on you."
"You'll be disappointed?!" Lola howled.
"Why don't you take Lola to the kitchen and make her some black coffee?" Sonny said, putting away his phone.
"I need a bathroom," Lola announced suddenly, holding her mouth.
Dodds guided Lola through the house, and barely got her into the bathroom off the kitchen before she began to lose the contents of her stomach. Mike knelt on the floor with Lola, holding back her hair, washing her face with a bright green wash cloth, and cooing soft words at her.
"Lola, it'll be okay. Don't worry. I'm sure it's a misunderstanding."
"What if it isn't?" She cried.
"Then we'll kill him in the bathtub, dismember him with my jigsaw, and lose his parts on a fast road-trip between here and California," Dodds calmly replied.
"You'd kill Spencer for me?" She cried.
"With my bare hands," He nodded.
Lola laughed, she cried, and she stuck her head back in the toilet to throw up again.
"Are you okay?" Dodds whimpered.
"Coffee will be done soon," Sonny promised from the kitchen. Dodds looked up and wondered again why Sonny was grinning so brightly when his sister-un-law was so miserable.
Spencer arrived twenty minutes later. He almost hit one of the trees in the driveway, pulling his truck in behind Lola's not-so-neatly parked sedan. Doctor jumped out, ran up onto the front porch, and pounded on the door. Lola was sitting at the dining table, rubbing her eyes, nursing a large mug of coffee. She started crying again when she heard the pounding.
"If that's Spencer, I never want to see him again. He can go live with Zara. Whatever he has to say to me, he can tell Mike. Because I am so not listening. I am so done with him. I am through. That's it. If he cares so damned little about me that he is going to let some….."
Lola ranted, and Dodds nodded in sympathy and concern as Sonny went to answer the door. Reid burst through and ran into the dining room without even stopping to greet Sonny.
"Lola! Baby! What are you doing here?"
"I'm leaving you. But you're moving out. Zara can have you, you no-good, cheating bastard!" Lola screamed angrily. Dodds held her back as she took a swing at Spencer.
"What is the matter?" Spencer puzzled. Sonny gave him a faint frown.
"Like you don't know?" Dodds challenged. Sonny waved both hands in an effort to get Dodds's attention. He did notice, bless him, and he did stop, thankfully. Sonny rolled his eyes anyway.
"Why are you mad at me, Baby?" Reid wanted to know.
"ZARA! She left messages for you on the machine, talking about how she was waiting to hear from you, couldn't wait to give you her surprise!" Lola howled.
"If you'd let me explain..." Spencer begged. "If you'd let me apologize."
Lola pushed Dodds at Teid. "I'm not talking to you. You can apologize to Mikey."
"Did you talk to Zara?" Spencer wondered. "Do you know what she wants?"
"NO! She wanted to talk to you!" Lola shouted. "Why don't you call her and ask her what she wants?"
"Hey…" Sonny intervened when Lola tossed the salt shaker at him. Sonny caught it and set it back on the table. Dodds picked up a sprinkle of salt and fingered it away into the air.
"Baby, Zara works at a jewelry store," Reid said slowly.
"Why do I give a fuck where she works?!" Lola screamed. Dodds straightened up, inhaling deeply. He gave Sonny a quick glance, and Sonny winked at him. A hopeful smile crept onto Dodds' face. "I'm done talking to you. You can talk to Mike," Lola repeated, putting herself back to back with Dodds.
"Okay. Fine. Mike, I know this might seem odd and a bit sudden…" Spencer began as he was getting down on his knees. He pulled a tiny black velvet box from his pocket and clasped Mike's right hand. "Will you marry me?"
Lola screamed out, and clutched Reid's upper arms with all ten nails.
"You know," Dodds winced, "as tempting as that offer is, I'm already spoken for."
He stepped aside, rubbing the deep red dents in his arms, hiding himself next to Sonny.
Lola had both hands over her face. "I'm an idiot," she whispered.
"Yeah, but you're my idiot, and I love you," Reid grinned at her.
"Spencer, it's beautiful. It's too beautiful. It's too big. ," Lola shook her head as she admired the ring he was putting on her finger.
"This is forever. That's how long I want you by my side, in my heart, forever and always. I love you, Lola Kinney."
Lola took a deep breath, put a hand over her mouth, and ran back through the kitchen. She slammed the bathroom door. Dodds,Sonny and Reid all cringed as they heard her losing whatever was left in her stomach.
"Was that a yes or a no?" Reid worried quietly.
"You might have to ask for clarification when she's sober tomorrow," Dodds suggested timidly. Reid smacked him on the backside.
"Well, if she says no, the offer still stands," Dodds teased him. Reid blushed brightly in reply.
"He's spoken for," Sonny replied, taking Dodds in his arms, and hugging him close.
"You want some coffee?"Dodds asked Reid after dotting a kiss on Sonny's pursed lips.
"No. We should go home. We've made enough of a spectacle of ourselves, I think," Spencer said slowly.
"We can't go home yet," Lola whined as she opened the bathroom door, looking green and ghoulishly pale.
"Why not?" Reid asked.
"Neal is out looking for you."
"That's bad," Dodds nodded. He picked up his phone and dialed. "Neal? Dodds. Found him. It's all good. Okay? All good. I'll explain later. Bye. You too. Bye."
"Better Neal than Dana out looking for you," Sonny assured Will grimly.
"Jesus, Baby, what did you think was going on?" Reid drawled.
"I was mad at you. I….I….um…" Lola couldn't finish the sentence. She winced and closed her eyes. "I called Bastiana too. I was crying. She said she was going to call some of her friends to find you and demand an explanation."
Sonny was already calling Bastiana on speed-dial.
"BASTIANA! Whatever you're doing, undo it. No. False alarm. Call them off. Little misunderstanding. Okay? No. Call them off. Okay. I'll explain later. Bye."
"Everything okay?" Lola cringed.
"All taken care of," Sonny promised.
"Let's go home," Reid smiled, almost as wan as Lola now. He took her hand and dotted a careful kiss on her cheek.
"I hope we can reach Logan," Lola whispered on the way out the door. Dodds was dialing the phone again.
"Drive carefully," Sonny waved from the doorway.
"Logan? Whatever you're doing, stop right this second. No, you need to fix that. Spencer is going to need his credit rating in good condition. No, no, we don't need to have Spencer arrested on suspicion of espionage and thrown into Gitmo. Logan? Listen to me. Get everyone together and come over here. On the double. I'll explain when you're all here. See you in a few."
END FLASHBACK
''It was a crazy night!'' Dodds said with a goofy smile.
''Crazy''Reid said, surprise echoing in his tone.''Bastiana almsot sent the Italian mafia after me''
''I cannot believe that Bastiana wanted to kill me because she thought that I cheated on Lola." Spencer told them.''I mean I am her brother.''
''We all know that Bastiana will not going to give a fuck if you are her brother on not ,if someone cheat on his magnificent other.''Dodds'd said in his low baritone.
''Anyway.''Reid said looking at Carisi.''What are doing to do for your anniversary?''
''Αnniversary?''Barba blurted out suddenly, interrupting them.
'The look Dodds shot her was all sharp edges and a dangerous sort of amusement.'' Been married six years this December. Would've been longer, he's a stubborn one."
Amusement warmed Sonny's expression.
"I'm stubborn?" Turning his smile to the others, he jerked his thumb towards Dodds. "He proposed to me for the first time one week after I met him and he kept asking me every month until I finally said yes."
"A man's gotta be stubborn to keep up with you'." Dodds shot back. Then he grinned and kissed Sonny's hair. "It was worth it."
''Jesus. You're turning into a fucking Hallmark card''Reid couldn't contain his disdain.
''Oh , you're not twisted around Lola's little finger'' Dodds scoffed.
''I am not''Reid denied.
''Yeah whatever makes you sleep at night. Now get you up and go to help with the case. I am no trusting Barba near to my husband.''Dodds ordered him. Reid's stood and made sure to squeeze his brother's shoulder in comfort and then smacked the back of his head before going to the meeting room.
After a few hours ,Aaron arrived back in Quantico, he went home just long enough to shower and change into a clean suit. All the members of both of teams were working overhours for this case ,Benson and Hotch sent their Agents/Deetectives at their house to eate and clean up.
He parked in his usual spot and went into the Bureau, convinced he would be the first member of his team to arrive. The quiet would be good, it would let him get some of his paperwork caught up.
"Wondered if you were going to show up today or not."
"Damn it, Bastiana, what the hell are you doing in my office sitting in the dark?" Hotch demanded, taking his hand away from his gun. "Do you have a death wish or something?"
''No''Bastiana snorted, but moved to the corner of the desk, perching there. "But you have," she continued. "Or maybe the fucking blond that forced herself at my brother."
Her eyes light up ,like a predator catching the scent of blood. His eyes traveled from her eyes to her red crimson lips ,which she suddedly needed to lick. He watched her tongue as she did it ,and he was leaning into her.
''You found out!''His warm breath on her neck made her shiver.
Bastiana swallowed.
''Of course''She turned from to door and met his gaze.''I will burn her.''
''I didn't expect anything less from you''He smiled ,looking in front of her. Bastiana noticed that he was paying attention, looking at her , seeing her. I felt kind of nice. He was kind of nice. Maybe.
''Dont worry about your brothers. They're together''Hotch said and was rewarded with one of Bastiana's trademark stares.
''Not very comforting , Aaron''Bastiana smiled.
Hotch liked the way his name sound on Bastiana's lips and wanted to know just how he would sound moaning his name.
''I can nor beleive that they did not told me''Bastiana's lips curled in distaste.
''You almost killed Garcia with your eyes at your first meeting with her''Hotch laughed.
''Spencer or Michale or Sonny , for the love of Gof even Erin kept it secret''Bastiana said, voice soft and so un-Bastiana like.
''Control''Hotch replied sitting down and explaining. ''What is going on with you and control''
''You are the profiler''Bastiana smirked at him.''Tell me''
"And who taught you that? Daddy?" Bastiana stayed silent so Bastiana continued.'' You came from a wealthy family and are used to getting what you want. That's why you have such freaky control issues."
"For someone who prides himself by saying how amazingly he can read people, I expected you to be more accurate." She gave the man a lazy smirk
"Pray tell what I got wrong?"
"You were right on one thing, I did come from a slightly wealthy family. My mom was a doctor and my dad was a successful business man." Bastiana shrugged, eyes seeming to glaze into memories.''But they did not want me and Neal ,soo they gave us to our mother's father. That man wasted the money on whiskey and other forms of liquor. He didn't really hit me until we were eight. He just verbally abused us, telling us how worthless I was, how it was us fault our parent did no want us. Everything just crashed around us. ''
The man was quiet, anger, sadness and many more emotions flooding through him.
"You know it wasn't your fault right?" Hotch asked, handing reaching to touch some part of Bastiana before drawing his hand back.
Bastiana shrugged, gazing deeply into.''I spent a lot of time away from the house and living in the streets with nothing but the clothes in my back, life wasn't easy." A dark look passed over Bastiana's eyes, shoulders hunching. She seemed to debate on whether she wanted to tell them before resigning to her fate.
"When I was 15, I had gotten used to some of the ways of the street. I knew which people I should manipulate to get food, which people to avoid. Of course I couldn't avoid all of them."
"Bastiana-"
"I was raped."
"Your brothers knows about that?" Hotch muttered, rubbing his hands over his eyes to stop the stinging behind them.
''No''Bastiana answered honestly. ''They have they own problems. My job is to protect them and not the other way. Now , can you understand why I'm so controlling? I couldn't stop my grandpa from hitting me, I couldn't stop that man from raping me, I can't stop Owen Savage, Tobias Hankel ''Bastiana interrupted. Hotch froze.'' This is about Nathan Harris ,the Anthrax ,Bengamin Cyrus ,Phillip Down and God only knows what else from hurting Spencer. I need to be in control of something."
''You control your brothers' lives''Hotch kept staring at Bastiana's face, into her eyes.
''I have read your file''
Agent Hotchner was from those men who don't know what the word no means. He is serious, disciplined, and determined. Hotch does things by-the-book, and rarely lets the cases ruffle his feathers. He keeps her cool and doesn't allow anyone to provoke his into losing her temper. He does have a bone-dry sense of a humor, but she keeps it well-hidden unless he's around his team.
Upon joining the FBI, Hotch was initially assigned to the Field Office in Seattle, Washington, before transferring to Quantico, Virginia. He had worked with CIA, FBI, NCI, NCIS, and CSI. He had been promoted many times for promotion but always refused and nobody knew the reason.
''Our American James Bond!''Bastiana teased, That brought a blush to Hotch's face and he shook his head decisively.
''Damn does he have to look so cute blushing.' Bastiana thought.
''I don't trust people with my brothers but you and Olivia earn my trust protecting my brothers''
She sighed and lifted her head. "I trust you, although it doesn't make me feel much better." She got serious again, pinning his with her eyes and looking straight into his soul. "If you betray me, I will be deeply hurt. And then I will burn you."
Bastiana was literally the most terrifying woman he'd ever met.
"Understood."
She nodded, then dropped the threats. "See you tomorrow "
Harvey sat at the bar tapping his fingers on the sides of his glass. Some low class bars and on occasion he'd wonder into bar when he didn't feel like being recognised. He'd never get extremely drunk, he liked to people watch to pass the he was at a little bar on the opposite side of town, people recognised him and he knew he'd slept most of the people there but they left him alone and he returned the favour.
He wanted to be alone with his thoughts. Today was a shit day and the angry gazes from Mike and Jessica's lecture did not help him. Donna crossed the line today with the rumor about him and Dana ,for the love of God , his secretary knows better than anyone that Harvey will never slep with a married woman. He has see the way Dana talks about her husband ,he had exchanged some words with him when they met on the floors during his visit at Dana.
He almost lost his shit when Mike yelled at Donna. Their puppy was not anymore a puppy but a grown up lawyer ,he was more confident and had win some important client for himself. Jessica , Donna ,Louis and Harvey were proud of Mike's development and were pround of him ,even Sheila had grew fond of Mike by the first time she met him.
Anyway ,Harvey had never see Mike so angry with someone and Donna almost had cry. The man had threated and yelled at Donna while Jessica stood next to him looking smug and pride for Mike.
This is another chapter which scared the shit out of Harvey. Throught Mike ,Jessica met her new best friend ,Bastiana Wolf , which through her Jessica met someone special. He saw Jessica smilling during her phone calls m, coming late at the office and talking about her dates with her secretary. Harvey was happy for her and wants to meet the person who made his mentor happy but he refuse to get along with her new best friend.
His thought were cut off by a female voice.
"Hey," comes a light sultry voice on his left. Harvey looks over to see an attractive woman, long brunette hair to her waist and a flowing red dress, "Can I get you a drink?"
"I have one." Harvey states, motioning to the drink in his hand and then taking a sip.
"I see," The woman replies but she doesn't leave, instead she sits on the stool beside him much to Harvey's annoyece, "What you doing after this?"
"Going home." He mumbles in a bored tone, taking a sudden interest in the scorpion pins on his cuffs, polishing them off.
"Want some company?" She pours leaning over towards him.
The lawyer looks over to her, "No, thank you. "
The woman shrugs her shoulders, "Well, if you ever change your mind, you know where I am." She smirks at him and sends him a wink as she slides from her chair and saunters off.
He was used to meetings like that. Often women would hit on him at bars and sometimes even men. He used to like it when he was alone, he didn't have many close friends so the attention was nice.
For the love of God , where he was before the woman interrupted him.
Bastiana Wolf.
What pissed Harvey the most about Bastiana was that the bitch was always able to provoke him. No one else could make the man act so unprofessionally!
Walking around his firm like she owns it. Talking with Jessica ,making inside jokes with Dana and having lunch with Mike. She had humiliated him for second time in court and Mike with Dana laughed at him after the ending of the trial. He does not know how or why but the most of his trial was against her but he did not complain.
It was like a war between them.
Not war but a game.
Game.
In a sick and weird way, he likes her. At first, he hadn't understood Bastiana back then. But now he finds fascinating the fun, and laughter he gained from delight in challenging, antagonizing her.
In your opinion, what's the height of stupidity?
Specter how tall are you?
I'm eating right now
Really?. But I don't see you between my legs.
If I died, how much would you miss me?
It's cute how you think death can get you out if this relationship, Specter.
Harvey felt all his nerves spark into life
From the other hand ,he was afraid.
Afraid that Mike will leave him. That Bastiana was here to take Mike away from him but Harvey knows Mike's loyalty lie at Harvey's side as he put his life and his career in the life for him but after Mike's tantrum at the office today ,he wants to sure anymore.
Unknowing to him, Bastiana was sitting in the other corner of the bar thinking about Aaron Hotchner.
This man is confused her. By Reid and other people which Bastiana asked about Hotch ,they told her that Special Agent Hotchner was the epitome of work duty. He was calm ,collected , and he stood with his team even when they did mistakes. The workaholic Agent, the man who loves rules and the same he doesn't seem to know how to smile, he was also initially unwelcoming of strangers and people he deemed a threat to himself.
Bullshit.
His smile.
Some said it was a myth, a story like so many that followed in his wake. No one could ever remember seeing it for themselves but all knew a friend of a friend who had experienced it, swore the very image was life altering.
When it came to describing it, words failed. "There was a hint of..." some would say, trailing off into hand gestures. "It was more of ..." came others, twisting their face into an odd grimace that told nothing of what they were trying to convey.
His smile is like the silver plate on a coffin.
And she can not understand why told him about her past. Harvey Specter and Aaron Hotchner know something from her past which did not find from a file. She wanted to scare them ,to underestimate her and when she will bite like a snake.
Her thoughts cut off when a man came over and approached Bastiana. He reached up and placed a hand on her shoulder, gathering her full unwanted attention.
"I suggested you remove your hand, if you want to keep it."
"I am not interested in your type of friendly. Last warning."
"Now, come now. Don't be a killjoy. Come join me and my friends over there." He nodded over to the table where a group of men were acting rowdy and slamming back drinks. Obviously, this man couldn't take the hint. With the simple turn of Bastiana's wrist, the man index finger from the hand that remained on her arm bent backwards in an unnatural manner, snapping the bone. The man yelped in pain, quickly drawing his hand away and cradling it with the other. He did his best to hide the fact he was hurting, trying to look like a big, strong man.
"Shall I continue, or are we done here?"
The man glared, "Bitch." He spat. As he walked away, Bastiana didn't feel satisfied, especially after the comment he just made. In good faith, with another turn of her wrist, she snapped another finger back, this time the middle one, causing the man to fall to the floor in pain.
She smirked with pleasure as the people around him came to his aid.
She directed her attention to the bar to see she was still waiting on their drinks. The place is rather busy considering it's a Friday night. It was then Bastiana noticed him. She mentally scolded herself for not noticing him sooner. Right as her eyes met his, he dropped his stare.
His presence made her stomach suddenly ache.
She walked briskly down the New York City sidewalk. The night air was nippy causing her to bring the sweater she wore closer to her body. She had considered just appariting home until she felt a presence following her.
She turned down the next alley and waited right on the edge. Graves turned moments after her, startled as they came face to face. He was busted.
"Why are you following me?"
"No. Especially when the gentleman just witnessed the lady can take care of herself."Bastiana knew Harvey had seen her entire altercation with the man in the bar.
"Ohh you mean when I kicked your ass!"
Thought about this for a second his lips turned up in what could be mistaken as a smile.
"You mocking me?"
"I would never."
"I will like to thank you for accept my apology. I did what I did because I like to know with that I deal with."
Bastiana hummed to herself and looked him up and down. She couldn't find any trace of a lie on his face or posture. Which could be either good or bad. "I can respect that." Walking around Harvey, Bastiana stepped out of the alley and back to the sidewalk.
He stood in his place, silently watching her. "You coming?" She called out to him.
They walked silently the remainder of the way to Bastiana's condo. All she could think about was what he was possibly thinking about, and the same could be said for him.
"Well, Mr Specter, your good deed has been accomplished. I have arrived home safe and sound. "
She smirked and walked up the steps of her brownstone. She was about to open the door when Harvey stopped her."Come to dinner with me tomorrow night."
"Isn't there some sort of rule against a name partner taking another name partner from another law firm out to dinner?"
"Of course there is. I created it."
"Why?"
''To prvent anyone else from having the opportunity to ask you.''
Bastiana scoffed and held back a smile, folding her arms over her chest. "Even so, the answer is no."
''I am a presistent man ,Miss Wolf. I dont give up easy.''
''Nor do I give in easy. Goodnight , Mr. Specter
"No you won't."
Harvey ignored her response and began walking back down the sidewalk they had just came down. Once he rounded the corner, he slipped in an alley and apparitied to his own codno. When Bastiana was inside her own condo, she sat on the couch reflecting back on the way he spoke to her. He reminded her of someone she knew from her past. This one wasn't in a good way. She now felt the clock on her time in New York City ticking.
