Chapter 17: Thomas

Dipper looks at Pacifica with a determined look, he wasn't going to let up on his claims.

"What do you mean? It can only be Gideon, no one else knows anything about the Journals or about the weirdness within the town." He said. Pacifica just looked at him with serious eyes.

"He isn't the only one, think about it. Who worked with Ford?" She said.

"Well there was Mc Gucket and that's it." Dipper replied.

"Dipper, you're forgetting someone!" She shouted.

"No I'm not, no one else what involved with Ford!" He yelled back.

"I guess he never told you did he? Ford worked along side my family Dipper. My grandfather helped him with his research. It's not Gideon, I can promise you that." Pacifica explained.

"Oh okay, so what? Was it your grandfather who burnt the Shack or who tried to steal from my family!?" Dipper said angrily.

"What? No! You fucking retard, I'd never think something that stupid, cause my grandfather died years ago." She replied.

"Well there you go, it's not your grandfather and I doubt Mc Gucklet would come back to the lab after the experience he had with the place. So that only leaves one person, Gideon."

"Pines, It wasn't Gideon, I know it's not, just listen to me." Pacifca plead.

"Seriously! You're trying to say that it's not Gideon, but you don't know what you're talking about, you're saying its someone else but that's impossible! You have no proof that it's someone else, meanwhile we have proof that Gideon took Victoria, making him much more guilty than anyone else!"

"God damn it Dipper, fucking listen to me!"

"No Pacifica! You listen, I don't need your useless thoughts of who you think it is, cause I know you aren't right!" He yelled angrily. Pacifica turned away, she looked briefly from over her shoulder and said:

"You can look for Victoria without me, I'm sure you would love to save her on your own, that way, you can get all the credit you fucking asshole." She then started walking away. Dipper didn't reply, he was too angry to answer her. He sat down and started planning out how he was gonna go in and get Victoria back. Ernest looked at Dipper, he stood next to him.

"You know, that was harsh right? She really wanted to help and she's not as useless as you may think." Ernest said. Dipper looked up at him.

"I know, I know she's far from useless, she's very useful, but she trying to say that someone else was behind trashing Ford's lab which is impossible. No one knows about the journals besides Us, Mc Gucket and Gideon." He replied. 'But, am I truly forgetting someone or do I just not know who the other person was?' Dipper started thinking to himself, he thought that Marco could help. Dipper reached into his backpack and couldn't find the Dimensional scissors.

"Fucking great...Pacifica left and I can't find the dimensional scissors." He said. Ernest sat next to Dipper.

"Don't worry about it, we can work on saving Victoria in the meantime." Ernest calmly said. Dipper replied with a simple nod. He then started to think of all the places Victoria could have been taken.

Meanwhile, Pacifica was walking and mumbling to herself, calling Dipper all sorts of names. She then looked down at the dimensional scissors that she took from Dipper's backpack. She thought of visiting Star, shecouldn't stand being anywhere near Dipper, so she opened up a portal and went to echo creek. She started to head straight to Marco's place, but as she was walking, she was thinking: 'Dipper is the biggest retard who had ever walked this earth, yet for how much I'm pissed off at him, I can't help but feel bad for how I reacted, even if he was the one who went too far.' She wasn't happy with herself for feeling this way, but she couldn't help it. Pacifica put her thoughts aside as she reached Marco's house, she knocked on his door and to her surprise, someone she didn't recognize answered the door. It was a girl who was wearing a beanie, in the middle of summer nonetheless.

"Um...Who are you?" She asked.

"Oh...hi, well... I'm Pacifica." Pacifica replied.

"Okay, but who are you? Are you a friend of Marco's?" She asked.

"Oh, um...I'm one of Star's friends." She replied. The girl turned to the living room and yelled:

"Hey Star, one of your friends are here, her name is Penelope or something."

"It's Pacifica" Pacifica replied. The girl rolled her eyes:

"Yeah sure, still starts with a P." Star ran to the door and saw Pacifica standing there.

"Pacifica!" She yelled as she ran and hugged Pacifca. Pacifica hugged back.

"Its good to see you." She replied. Star dragged Pacifica into the house and took her to the living room, there was Marco sitting on the couch comfortably.

"Janna, next time don't answer my door please." Marco said.

"Whatever" *sighs* "You're no fun." Janna replied as she lies on the couch, throwing her legs onto Marco's lap.

"Anyway, what are you doing here P? And where's Dipper?" Marco asked.

"Uh...Well...we got into a fight." Pacifica said hesitantly. Both Marco and Star shot up in shock

"What!" They both shouted.

"Wait don't start talking, I need some popcorn." Janna said as she got up and rushed to the kitchen.

"What happened? Why did you fight?" Star asked. Pacifica sat down on the couch and proceeded to explain the story to Marco and Star.

"Wow, damn. Dipper said that?" Marco asked. She replied with a nod. Star and Marco looked at each other.

"Should we call him?" Marco asked. Star looked over at Marco with a cautious eyes.

"I mean, I don't want to, but he could help the whole situation." She replied. Pacifica looked at the two perplexingly and asks:

"Who are you two planing on calling?"

"Don't worry about it, a friend of mine will go visit Dipper and make sure he calms down. And in the meantime, why don't we get you some ice cream?" Star says. Pacifica replied with a simple nod and the two girls got off the couch and headed to the kitchen.

"So...you want to call him or..." Marco asked.

"Oh no no no no no no no, I'm not talking to him again, remember how it ended? He is your friend now after all." She replied.

"Fine." Marco sighed and goes to pick up he phone, but he can't find it. He then turns to Janne who was eating a bag of buttery popcorn.

"Where did you put my phone." He said dead seriously. She looked at him briefly, pulled Marco's phone out from her pocket, then threw it to him. Marco caught it then dial a number.

"Hey it's Marco...yeah, I'm good...She's doing fun. Listen, I have a favor, it's a request from Star...Yeah...Dipper Pines...Earth...Gravity Falls normally...he need to calm down, he's enraged from what I've been told...Thank...yeah no problem...thanks dude." Marco put his phone back in his pocket, then he got up and joined the girls in the kitchen for some ice cream.

Meanwhile, Dipper was still face down, looking at the ground. He couldn't believe he said those things to Pacifica. Dipper tried to justify it in his head. 'I don't want her to get hurt, this is gonna be very dangerous and I don't want her hurt! Is that so wrong? Plus she doesn't know what she's talking about, there's only Gideon who could have taken Victoria.' He thought. Ernest was trying to cheer him up when suddenly, a massive fire ignited in front of him, then the flames started to weaken. Dipper could see a gothic chariot, it was black and red with all sorts of bones on it as some sort of decoration and a skeleton horse was pulling it. Suddenly, the door opened, and a man in a suit and tie floated out of it, he stood in front of Dipper.

"Are you...Dipper Pines?" He asked as he moves his sunglasses a bit. Dipper was perplexed on how this man knew his name, but also how he was floating.

"Yes, that's me." He replied. The man took off his sunglasses and smiled briefly.

"I got a request from Princess Butterfly for me to take care of you. I've got no choice in the matter, so just come with me and we dont have to do this the hard way, you wouldn't want to go down that path with me." The guy said adamantly. Dipper could see he was serious, he started to analyze the young man in front of him. 'This dude is no joke, he looks like he's a fighter. Plus as he flew out of his chariot, he was using his power to create and manipulate fire, so I'm at quite a disadvantage. But it seems like he's a furious fighter, so if he just attacks hastily, I could use that to my advantage. The question is, should I fight him or should I just go along with him? He did say Star requested his help.' Dipper also was curious to test out his power, to see if he can just use it whenever or not.

"I know that look Dipper, I see you want to fight." The young man said. He sighs, and looks at Dipper.

"But, that's not why I was brought here. Star asked me to deal with you because you had a little...outburst of rage at a friend, it was directed towards Pacifica if I'm correct." Dipper replies with a simple nod. The young man puts his hand out to Dipper.

"I think we started off on the wrong foot, I'll introduce myself, I'm Tom. It's nice to meet you." He said. Dipper look at Tom then look at Tom's hand, he's unsure whether he should shake Tom's hand or not. He shakes the young demon's hand and replies:

"I guess it's nice to meet you too." Tom smiles.

"Now, if you would come in the chariot with me, that would be great. I've been tasked with controlling your rage, so come along please." He said. As always Dipper quickly thought if it was a good idea to go with the fire demon into the chariot, but since Star sent him, he thought that it'd all be fine. Dipper stepped into the chariot when suddenly the voice of Ernest was coming from behind him.

"What about me? Shouldn't I come too?" He asked. Tom looked at Ernest and said:

"Don't worry, Dipper and I will be back in a few Earth seconds, I just need to help Dipper with his rage quickly. Don't go anywhere." Just then, the door to Tom's chariot shut and the whole chariot was engulfed in flames and started going back down into the crust of the earth, leaving Ernest by himself.

"Um...where are we going?" Asked Dipper. Tom turned to him and grinned.

"I'm taking you to my castle. I know of your power, I can sense it, so I'm gonna channel your rage by fighting you to the death. No pressure though, I'll kill you quickly, you'll feel almost no pain." He replied. Dipper then turned pale and started to panic, he didn't want to die. But then he thought back to the battle with the Mangon he had a few days ago, he remembered how frightened he was and how much he fear consumed his body, but even with all the fear within him, he still was able to stand and face the beast on his own. He thought that this time was going to be the same, just replace a massive half human half dragon with the prince from the underworld. As the chariot descended further and further, Dipper started to relax more, his fear of the death match quickly subsided as he thought of one thing. 'No matter what happens, no matter how injured I get, I need to make it back. I need to get back to Pacifica and show her my apologies.' This was the thought within his mind that was giving him to be victorious in the fight against Tom. Dipper looked out the small window of the chariot and tried to spot something through the thick layer of smoke and fog, but suddenly, he could make out the shape of a big castle, it was massive and looked as if it was built in medieval times, the towers and walls were of brimstone and the summit of each watchtower was consumed in flames. And as Dipper looked down, he could see the castle was isolated on a small island, surrounded by a lake of fire. The chariot landed in the middle of a big arena that was in the backyard of the castle, both Tom and Dipper exited the vehicle as it now left, leaving the two young man alone in a empty colosseum. Dipper knew this was it, it was do or die time. He looked up and saw a big fireball heading right towards him.
