A/N: Welcome back to another chapter of The Jade Dragon. I don't own CW or DC comics.
"I remember the night like it was last night. We were in the middle of a storm getting close to landing. The Captain had announced that we had 30 minutes until we landed when I heard a loud bang and the plane was ripped on half. My father and I were separated by the two halfs. The last thing I remember from the crash was the plane hitting the ground. When I woke up, Shado was standing next to my bed tending to me. She said I had been in a coma for six months. After that, I did my best to repay them for their kindness before coming home." Oliver said, in front of the judge.
"I vote to remove the death in absentia ruling for Mr. Queen." the judge said, before banging his gravel and closing the case. Oliver and Shado walked out of the court followed by Sara, Moira, and Robert.
. "Now that this is done, why don't we head to the company so we can talk to you about your future." Robert said, as they headed out of the court house. Before they could get out of the courthouse, they were met by Laurel Lance and a female following her.
"Hello Laurel. What are you doing here?" Oliver asked, wondering what she was doing.
"I'm just doing my job. Oliver this is Emily Nocenti, Emily this is my best friend Oliver Queen. Emily's father was killed by Frank Bertenelli. I'm here to get her a case. Also, I still don't know how to repay you Mr. Queen" Laurel started, turning to talk to Robert.
"No need to thank me Laurel. Just keep doing your job and that will be more than enough to satisfy me." Robert said, before they continued on. Sara held back the reporters as the four of them got into the limo. Sara got into the driver's seat and they drove to Queen consolidated.
As they all got out of the car. Shado spoke up, "I'm going to go across the street to the cafe. I'll be waiting for you once you are done." Shado then gave him a kiss before walking over. She walked into the cafe and ordered a coffee. As she was looking for a seat, she heard someone call her name.
"Hey Shado. Why don't you come over here." Naomi Singh said, as she waved Shado over. Shado was fond of Naomi and they were best friends growing up. Naomi was then sent to America to run the American branch of the triad once Oliver, Shado, and China's plan started to come together. Naomi was going to get a job at Queen Consolidated so they could have someone inside the company help Oliver when needed.
"It's been awhile Naomi. How have you been doing these past couple of years?" Shado asked Naomi.
"I'm doing fine. I'm loving the job and there haven't been any major roadblocks in the plan so far." Naomi told Shado.
"What do you mean by major roadblocks. Did something happen while we weren't here?" Shado asked, concerned about the plan.
"There was another person in contention for the job opening. It looked like she might've got it over me so I did some digging. It turns out that she committed a major crime in college, so I sent the report to Argus and Amanda Waller picked her before she could take the job. She is now part of Waller's Suicide Squad thing. So like I told you, only a minor roadblock." Naomi said, as Shado laughed. She knew Naomi liked to have fun by looking into people's past and exposing any crimes they committed. That's why they chose her to be Oliver's assistant when he gets a job at Queen Consolidated. She would help him with anything he needed to get ahead of the competition.
While Shado and Naomi were catching up, Moira and Robert were leading Oliver and Sara to the top of Queen Consolidated. When they got to Robert's office, Robert sat down in his chair as the other three remained standing. "Oliver, I know before the crash that you didn't want to take over the company when you were ready. I want to let you know that I will support whatever you decide to do from here on." Robert told his son.
"Thank you dad, but I do want to help you with Queen Consolidated. When the time comes, I will take over. I just want to work my way up and learn what to do. I will need someone to be an assistant though. I didn't get my MBA when I was away after all." Oliver said, as Robert started laughing.
"I suppose you didn't Oliver. Anyways, I know someone who can help you out. She's on break right now, but we can get you started working here tomorrow if you want to. We're ready for whenever you want to start." Robert said, smiling the entire time. He was overjoyed that Oliver was finally taking an interest in the company. Hopefully he wouldn't learn what Malcolm was doing with the blackmail. He was worried what Oliver would if he found out Malcolm's plans for the city. "You can go home now. Moira and I have a meeting with a couple of people in an hour. We will be home later tonight." Robert said, dismissing Oliver and Sara.
Oliver was looking out the window of the car as China drove them into downtown Beijing. He was amazed at how many people could fit into one area and how many people wore face masks. Star city had nothing like Beijing. Yes they had tall buildings, but they were very sparse compared to here. Oliver was brought out of his musings when China slowed to a stop. China told him to follow her and don't say anything until she introduces him. Oliver nodded and stayed silent. As they walked in, Oliver surveyed his surroundings like China taught him to. He noticed that they were in a club that was full of people that were partying. China led him past the party into a back room. Oliver noticed that there were five people in there all on computers. They looked like something you would see from a group of hackers in a movie with a ton of screens in the room and wires everywhere. China walked up to one of them and greeted them with a hug. She then turned to him and waved him over. "Oliver, this is a good friend of ours Naomi Singh. She is the leader of our tech team. Naomi, this is Oliver Queen. He is mine and Shado's student for now." China said as the two of them shook hands. Oliver got a good look at Naomi while doing so. Naomi was about his height. She had brown eyes and short, untamed, black hair. She had a similar build to Shado although she had lighter skin than Shado. Oliver wondered if they might be cousins due to the similarities. He was brought out of his staring when Naomi spoke.
"It's nice to meet you Oliver. China tells me that you need an encrypted phone. I've got just the thing for you." Naomi said as she moved to a table with a bunch of electronics lying scattered around. She picked up a phone and handed it to OIiver. "That phone in your hands is the Motorola Razr. Of course, it isn't your normal phone. We've modified it to pick up western signals and bypass China's firewall. It also is encrypted to only allow calls from other Triad members so no spam calls for you. Mince, China's, and Shado's numbers are already programmed in. That should be all you need. If you need anything else electronic wise just give me a call. I'll see what I can do." Naomi told him, explaining the purpose of the phone.
"Thank you Naomi. Remember that you have an open invitation to visit us anytime you want." China said.
"I know China. I'll come visit sometime and see how badly your boy toy here is getting beat up." Naomi said as they both laughed. CHina then waved her goodbye and led Oliver back to the car.
"We have one more thing to do tonight before we head back. This is an important piece of equipment that will be a part of your training once it gets finished." Chind told him as she started the car.
"What are you going to get me next?" Oliver asked curiously.
"I'm going to get you a sword." China said before driving off.
Sara and Oliver walked out of Queen consolidated and went to get the car. Shado saw the two of them exit the building and led Naomi over to them "Hey Oliver and Sara. This is a friend of ours Sara. Her name is Naomi Singh. She taught Oliver all of his computer skills after China introduced them." Shado said, introducing Naomi to Sara. The two of them shook hands and smiled at each other.
"Good for you Naomi. Oliver was useless with computers throughout high school." Sara said, making Naomi sigh.
"He was awful when I started teaching him. Thankfully Shado and China gave him an incentive to get really good. He eventually became competent enough." Naomi said as Oliver put a hand to his chest.
"I'm hurt Naomi. I thought you liked me. You liked me enough to teach me your ways at least." Oliver said as Sara and Shado started laughing.
"Of course I like you Oliver. I'm just mad that Shado and China got to you first. I believe we would've been much better together." Naomi said as Shado laughed at her.
"We gave you a chance to join us Naomi. You turned the offer down so it's your fault if you regret it now." Shado said as Sara sighed.
"This is just like you Oliver. You just love to get strong women fighting over you." Sara said.
"It's just who I am Sara. I get all the women swooning after me." Shado glared at him and Oliver quickly spoke up again. "Although China and Shado are the only ones I love." Shado smiled at him and Oliver smirked. "Naomi is welcomed, but Shado and China have to agree first." Shado just sighed as Sara started laughing. Oliver and Shado gave Naomi before getting in the car and heading to the base.
Frank Bertenelli was yelling into his phone frustrated at who was killing his men and the trial that he had to fight. "I don't care what you have to do. I want Laurel Lance and that bitch killing our men dead. If anyone else is in the way, kill them too. Leave no witnesses alive." Frank said as he hung up his phone. He then sighed as his daughter walked into the room.
"Is everything okay daddy?" She asked.
"Not really Helena. There is a problem right now that I have to sort out. Why don't you go out for dinner. I'll see you later tonight." Frank said, as Helena nodded and left the room.
A/N: So this chapter is longer than I expected. Anyways, as you can see I chose Naomi instead of Felicity to be the Tech Specialist. I never really liked Felicity as she turned the show from a crime/thriller into a drama show. For those who don't know who Naomi is. She is Oliver's tech specialist in Green Arrow Vol. 5. As always, any support is appreciated and I read all reviews so don't be afraid to say what you think.
