A/N: A couple of things before we start off this story. Thanks to Only Reviewer for a suggestion on Naomi. They recommended Shalom Harlow and I have to agree with them. She is really close to how Naomi was portrayed in the comics. Another thing I want to ask is if you guys want me to turn this into a harem story. Let me know through PM or reviews. I don't own DC or CW. Now let's get onto the story.
Oliver and Shado were hanging out in Oliver's office. Sara had driven them there before leaving. Robert greeted them at the entrance and led them to where Oliver would be learning how to run the business. Robert told them that he had called Oliver's new assistant to get him started. Oliver and Shado were talking to Robert about various things going on in the business when Naomi got off the elevator. "Ah, there she is." Robert started as Naomi walked over to them. "Oliver and Shado, this is Naomi Singh. She is the head of our It department." Robert said. He was surprised when Naomi and Shado greeted each other with a hug. "Do you know each other?" Robert asked them as they pulled away from each other.
"Yes Naomi and I know each other." Shado said. Robert looked at her for further explanation. "We went to the same highschool and became friends. We lost contact after college." Shado said as she put her arm around Naomi.
"Well then. You three should be fine then. Naomi will go over all the basics of what Oliver needs to do. Before I leave Oliver, We'll be at an auction for Unidac industries. I'd like you to be there to see the ins and outs of auctioning. You will need a date, but I know you already got that covered." Robert said, nodding to Shado. "I'm going to leave now and let you get to business." Robert finished, walking out with a smile on his face.
Naomi hugged Oliver once Robert left. "You know what Shado?" Naomi asked as she hugged Shado as well.
"What do you want Naomi?" Shado exasperated.
"I want my turn with Oliver soon. I can give you and China some convincing if you wont give me what I want." Naomi said with a smirk. "I know all your weak spots." Naomi finished in a sing-song voice. Shado blushed as Oliver laughed at them.
"As much as I love seeing you two tease each other, We do need to get some business done. Business before pleasure as you two know." Oliver said. Naomi sighed and brought up some reports on her tablet. The three of them got to work trying to improve Queen consolidated.
Oliver, Shado, Sara, and Naomi walked into their base of operations. China had called them telling Oliver and Shado that she had some news for them. China walked up to the four of them and greeted Oliver and Shado with a kiss and gave Sara and Naomi a hug. "I called you guys here because I found out something good. You guys know that someone has been killing off members of the Bertenelli crime family?"
"Yeah I have heard of that. My father is worried that a gang war may start up because of it. He thinks that someone is trying to cause it to get rid of the family." Sara said as the other three confirmed that they had.
"Well I had a couple of people look into who was doing it and they found something really interesting. They found that the person who was doing it was actually his daughter. I took a deeper look into this and found a motive for her doing it. Apparently, her father had killed her fiance because he had some evidence that would have him incriminated. I believe that this evidence was actually Helena's and that in her grief, decided she wanted to destroy the crime family." China said as Oliver looked deep in thought.
"What if we were able to get her to take over the family and form an alliance with us. We would get a stronger foothold in Star City. It might be enough to drive the Bratva out." Oliver said.
"And how are you going to tell Helena without her father knowing?" Shado asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I overheard my father talking about a negotiation about a project with Frank Bertenelli. He's hesitant to go through with it due to Frank's reputation. I could make a visit about the negotiations. You and China could dress up as the vigilantes and distract him from the meeting. If I can get him to have his daughter continue the negotiations, I can get her alone and tell her." Oliver said.
"You know I don't like fighting Oliver. I'm a healer. You could get Sara to do it. I'm going to go with you to make sure nothing funny happens between you and Helena." Shado said.
"Fine, fine, you can come. I don't know why you don't trust me." Oliver said jokingly. The other three started laughing at them as Shado sighed in exasperation.
Oliver had a bow in his hands aiming toward a target. Shado had finally let him use a bow after hours of slapping water in a bowl. She had said that it was for him to learn control. However, all it did was continue to annoy him. He kept with it knowing that Shado knew what she was doing. He took a deep breath as Shado told him to while drawing back the string. He held in his breath and aimed carefully. Shado was watching him carefully for any flaws in his form. China had also joined them to see how Oliver would take to using the bow. With all this going through Oliver's mind, he let go of the string. The arrow flew towards the target and struck in the circle of red closest to the yellow. Oliver let out his breath as Shado started clapping. "Well done Oliver. You are a natural at this. There were a few flaws that we can correct, but you have no bad habits." Shado said as China looked on in approval. "It shouldn't take more than a month for you to be up to my standards. You have a lot of potential." Shado finished as China spoke up.
"You also have a lot of potential in hand to hand. We'll have to test your ability with weapons after Shado gets you up to standard. I was also trained by Shado even if I don't use a bow." China said as Oliver turned to them.
"Thank you two for believing in me. I will endeavor to do my best. I owe you my life." Oliver said seriously. Shado and China looked at each before deciding what to say.
"Just keep training hard. You'll be able to pay us back once you start going on missions. Why don't you go back to training with Shado. I have things that I need to look over." China said as she left Shado and Oliver alone. Shado started showing Oliver where he needs to improve
Oliver, Shado, and Sara stood outside Laurel's apartment after Oliver knocked on her door. The door opened and Laurel poked her head out. "Hi guys. Why don't you come on in. I just finished dinner." Laurel said as the three of them followed her in.
"That's good news." Oliver said as he brought something behind his back. "I brought some ice cream." Oliver said with a smile.
"I'll get out the silverware then." Laurel said with a smile. The four of them sat down and started eating the ice cream.
"So how have you been Laurel?" Oliver asked.
"I've been doing really well." Laurel started before sighing, "Look. I'm sorry for what happened before the plane crash. I should've trusted you more. You were really starting to become a better person." Laurel finished as Oliver stopped eating and grabbed Laurel's hand.
"It's ok Laurel. I've moved on from that and you should too. I know we liked each other, but too many things were said that night." Oliver said as he started eating again. Laurel looked down deep in thought before turning to Shado.
"How did you fall in love with Oliver?" Laurel asked.
"His work ethic and his kindness to others is what started to make me fall in love with him. What sealed the deal however, is when he saved my life." Shado said. Laurel and Sara looked at her in surprise.
"How did he save your life? Oliver couldn't even throw a punch correctly before he left." Sara asked, remembering Oliver punching that paparazzi person.
"My father is a really good martial artist. He and a friend of mine taught him how to fight as a way to grow stronger. How he saved my life is another matter. I'm not sure I'm ready to say why." Shado as Oliver and Sara suddenly looked at different places around the apartment.
"We need to move. There's someone outside the window." Sara said as she dragged Laurel behind her. Oliver and Shado followed her as she tried to get to the door. The door was kicked in before they could get there and a large man walked into the apartment. Sara quickly pulled out her gun and shot him before he could react. Someone further down the hall opened fire and they were forced back into the apartment. Oliver grabbed a knife as Shado pulled Laurel under a table and put a finger to her lips. Oliver and Sara fought to opponents that had come in through different places. They quickly took care of their opponents and looked around the apartment. Oliver was suddenly hit in the back of the head and knocked down. Sara turned around and saw a Russian guy with no weapons and fists balled. Sara brought her gun up and fired. She hit him as the guy retreated out the window and heard sirens in the distance. Sara decided to not go after them and help Oliver who had been knocked out. Shado and Laurel came out from their hiding place and saw Oliver. Shado rushed over to him and hugged him tightly.
Quentin walked up to Shado who was holding Oliver's hand. Oliver was still knocked out and was going to be taken to the hospital if he doesn't regain consciousness in 10 minutes. They had already put an ice pack on the pack of his to stop swelling. "I'm sorry for what happened to him. We've got some of the blood from the guys that Sara killed. We will see if we can find who orchestrated this. I hope he gets better soon." Quentin told Shado. As Quentin finished, Oliver let out a groan and started shifting around on the bed. A medical worker rushed over and asked him a few questions. The medic left after the questions and Oliver got off the bed. "Thank you for helping out Sara. She told me what you did. Feel free to visit Laurel." Quentin said, before leaving.
