"Welp, it's about time to head back before they start worrying about where I've been" Maple said as she uses [Active Flight] and leaves [Graveyard of Dreams].
As Maple leaves the area she wonder how she was going to tell her friends about the new ability. She think it would be a good idea to tell them to meet her at a remote location to show it off. Not wanting to ponder on it for too long, Maple have gone and try to scout out as much of the third layer as possible to find a place that would be very remote.
When flying around, she noticed a few new enemies coming at her. They appear to be encased in a metallic shell with four openings along it allowing them to fly. Within a certain radius of Maple they opened up and shot out can a humanoid machine. The shell that carry these machines broke apart and rearranged them self into two swords.
"Halt." they said in unison. "You are to be executed by order of the King" they stated as they propel themselves towards attack Maple.
Dodging the attack Maple quickly used the naval cannon to blow them to bits. The attack was useless since they moved faster than the cannons can rotate. Noting them to be useless Maple took out the Vulcan so she can whittle them down bit by bit.
After thirty minutes of dodging then firing, Maple came out victorious. Not having a clue what they were, she can only infer that it was the King of Machines that send them after her. She only hope that it was only a one time thing since it would be very annoying to have to deal with them constantly.
Meanwhile At Headquarters
"Are you done with the new quests yet?" ask a developer. "Finished with the rewards for each of them and just started on the restrictions." another one said, tiredly, as he went to take a break. "Don't you guys think this is a little too much for a single boss fight?" one said as they look over the restrictions for the final boss of the third layer. "Why must the player need [Machines of War], a skill obtainable by only one player, to do the quest?" he asked to the lead developer for this layer.
"This was a decision made by the higher ups." the lead developer replied "They give me the requirements and I pass them along, so unless word comes down from above to loosen it we will not change it."
"Hey! I just checked on the status of [Machines of War]. You would not believe who got possession of it." another dev said looking like he is done with this game.
"Who?" someone asked as they look over to him. "Maple." he said with sigh and a few devs just inhaled and exhaled as a response since she is the luckiest and most annoying player they had to deal with.
Back In The Game
"It's getting pretty late, it is about time for me to log out of the game." Maple thought as she realized that she's been on for quite a while. "I'll just send out a messages to meet me by the large crater on the west side of the map, tomorrow. I need to get some sleep in, in the mean time." And with that Maple logged out of the game.
"When should we meet? I don't want it to happen at a bad time for them." Maple thought as she prepares to sleep. "Maybe I should schedule to an hour after everyone gets on."
