Mileena awakens to find herself inside of Zareta's dwelling. The elderly woman waved a feather over her abdomen.
"What are you doing?" Mileena asked.
"Your sister requested that I provide you and your child protection from the sorcerer Shang Tsung." Zareta continued waving the feather.
Mileena looked around for Kitana, but she was nowhere in sight. She must be waiting outside.
"I used to know him." Zareta suddenly blurted out.
"Who?" Mileena asked.
"Shang Tsung." Zareta placed the feather aside.
Mileena curiously asked. "How so?"
"We met as young apprentices."
"Were the two of you in love?"
Zareta laughed, "No, my dear! We just fucked! That's all."
"Oh! Okay." Mileena couldn't help but giggle at the thought of the sorcerer ever getting some action.
"What's so funny?" Zareta asked curiously.
"Nothing." Mileena emitted another giggle.
Zareta shrugged it off and continued to work her magic.
She clasped her hands together and they emitted a purplish glow.
Mileena couldn't help but stare in awe.
Zareta then placed her hands on Mileena's abdomen and began her protective enchantment. Zareta's eyes rolled up until they appeared white and she spoke in a language that Mileena couldn't understand.
The enchantment lasted more than a few minutes and then she was done.
"There you go, my dear!" Zareta helped Mileena to stand up.
"What is this protection really for?" Mileena asked.
"Shang Tsung won't be able to detect your child," Zareta replied. "But it's temporary! Eventually, your belly will grow and everyone will know you're pregnant."
Mileena placed a hand on her abdomen. "I've never had a child before."
Zareta smiled, "Well, you're lucky to have a sister by your side who is also going to be a mother."
Mileena met Zareta's gaze as her eyes widen in shock. "What?"
"Oh!" Zareta's eyes also widened, "She didn't tell you?"
Mileena ran out of the hut to find Kitana standing close by, waiting.
Mileena approached her. "You're going to have a child too?" She asked.
Kitana's eyes slightly widen and she glances at Zareta peeking out from the opening.
She hesitantly replied, "Yes."
"Why didn't you tell me?"
Kitana was silent for a few moments before answering, "Because I was too afraid to tell anyone."
"Who's the father?" Mileena asked curiously.
Kitana sighed as if she was mustering up the courage to speak again.
"It's Liu Kang."
Mileena only looked at her in utter shock.
"And I haven't told him yet." Kitana continued, "You and Zareta are the only ones who know."
There was a moment of silence between them.
And then Mileena suddenly squealed and embraced Kitana. "I'm so happy I'm not the only one!"
Kitana raised a brow and glanced at Zareta who now stood just outside of her dwelling and watched in mere amusement.
Kitana grabbed Mileena's shoulders and brought her face-to-face. "Are you going to tell Scorpion?"
Mileena giggled, "Of course I'm going to tell him. He's the father of my child!"
Kitana looked concerned, "Don't tell him yet."
Mileena eyed her in confusion. "Why not?"
"Just wait until we come up with a plan to escape."
Mileena's eyes widen in shock and she takes a step back. "What?"
"We have to leave Outworld!"
Mileena shook her head. "No! I can't do that!
"What other choice do you have? Do you really think father will let you keep your child or accept Scorpion as the father of your child?"
Mileena shrugged, "I don't know, but what if he does?"
Kitana shook her head. "Do you really want to take that chance? He may favor you right now, but he will not take this news well. Trust me, I've known father much longer than you have."
Mileena shifted her gaze downward in deep thought.
And then she asked, "If we leave Outworld, then what? Where will we go?"
Kitana shifted and began pacing around. "I'm going to Earthrealm to be with Liu Kang. You will have to figure out where you will go."
"I have nowhere else to go and I'm not going anywhere without Scorpion!"
Kitana sighed, "I was afraid you were going to say that."
She was about to speak again when she noticed Zareta approaching them, though she seemed more fixated on Mileena.
Mileena noticed Kitana's gaze and turned her head to see the old woman approach her with a smile on her face.
"Perhaps I can be of assistance."
