A few days had passed without any training.

Mileena had awakened early in the morning and spent this time pondering and plotting on how she was going to escape and how she was going to break the news to Scorpion.

She knew he had already suspected that she was hiding something from him, but she couldn't bring herself to tell him then.

She sighed and gazed out into the horizon, particularly towards the living forests where Scorpion was sent.

Her thoughts, however, drifted to the old woman and her proposal.

She wanted to confront Zareta about that proposal, but a part of her wanted Scorpion to be there as well. He, too, had the right to know what the old hag wanted with their child.

She pushed her thoughts aside and retrieved her magenta robe and left for the bathhouse.

She walked downstairs and into the maze of hallways.

She veered around the corner and bumped right into someone. The impact nearly knocked her to the ground as she stumbled back.

She looked up to see who the hell was in her way.

It was Baraka.

He looked startled upon seeing her. "Princess Mileena!" He approached her.

She immediately stepped back and hissed, "Don't touch me!"

He stopped with the look of confusion as she gave him a death glare.

"Is something wrong, princess?"

She tilted her head and noticed his confused look.

"That depends."

He looked even more confused. "On what?"

"On what you remember."

At this point, Baraka became even more confused as he shrugged and scratched his bald head.

"Remember what?" he asked.

Mileena now seeing that he was clearly confused shook her head and walked past him.

"It doesn't matter now."

She took only a few steps before he stopped her.

"Wait!"

She turned around and snapped, "What do you want?"

He kneeled before her with his eyes on the ground, "Whatever I did, I'm sorry, princess."

She lifted a brow at his pitiful display and said with a condescending tone. "You should be!"

She turned to leave when he stopped her with another question.

"What can I do to atone for my disobedience?"

Mileena stopped and turned around. He was still kneeled down, but with his head looking up at her expectantly.

She tilted her head, thinking that maybe he could be useful for something.

"You will obey my every command, even if my father tells you otherwise." She said as she approached him.

"Yes, princess!"

"And you will not question my judgment, ever!"

"Yes, princess!"

"If you ever disobey me, I will cut off your dick and make you choke on it."

"Yes, princess."

"Now off you go!" She waved her hand to shoo him away.

He obediently stood up and left without another word.

That went well, she thought.

She continued to the bathhouse without anyone else bothering her.

The moment she entered the bathhouse, she noticed Kitana already basking in the hot water.

"Well done!" she said.

"Oh, so you heard that?"

"Yeah. I heard every word."

Mileena sighed and waited for Kitana to bombard her with questions on what happened between the two of them, but she didn't.

"That idiot somehow thought I was you and followed me down here. I had to remove my veil to show him I wasn't you."

"Really?" Mileena giggled. "He must be color blind to not notice your blue robe."

"Yeah," Kitana tilted her head back and closed her eyes, "But he seems to be madly in love with you."

"Awe, that's too bad," Mileena said in a mock disappointment. "He should have said something before I met Scorpion."

She removed her magenta robe and tossed it aside and carefully stepped into the hot water across from Kitana.

It was so soothing. Mileena relaxed and let herself sink deeper into the hot water until her head was just above the surface.

"I'm going to tell him tonight." Kitana said.

Mileena lifted her head to look at her. "Oh, your lover boy!"

Kitana raised a brow. "Uh, yeah! My lover boy!"

"Does this mean you're leaving and not coming back?"

There was a long pause before she responded, "Yes."

Mileena couldn't help but feel a little sad. "Who am I supposed to pick on now?"

Kitana chuckled, "You have Scorpion. Pick on him!"

"But he's gone half of the time."

"What about Zareta's proposal? Have you decided what you want to do?"

"I don't really trust her. What if she takes my child away?"

Kitana gave her a questioning look. "I seriously doubt that. She seems more interested in you than your child."

"Why me?"

"I don't know. Maybe she thinks of you as a daughter she never had."

"Hmm, maybe you're right." Mileena sunk deeper into the water. "Maybe I'm just being paranoid."

They sat in silence basking in the hot water for a while.

And then the sound of bubbles interrupts their silence. They both open their eyes and look at each other.

"Sister! Was that you?" Mileena asked with a grin.

"Of course not!" Kitana responded calmly, but there was a hint of uncertainty. "There's an air pocket somewhere over here."

Mileena giggled, "You're a terrible liar sister!"

Later on that day…

"Are you ready?"

Scorpion had brought Mileena to the Courtyard to continue her training.

"Yes." She said in a slow, seductive tone. "Let us dance!"

He immediately attacked with a flaming fist. She blocked and countered with a roundhouse kick to the face. He blocked it and threw another flaming fist aimed at her abdomen. She quickly blocked it and threw a sweep kick to his shins. He narrowly dodged her and backed away.

"Good!" he said. "Always keep your guard up and expect the unexpected."

"Huh?" Mileena wasn't sure she heard that right. "How do I expect the unexpected?"

Just then, Scorpion vanished before her eyes and suddenly appeared behind her. Before she could register what had just happened, he grappled her from behind. One arm wrapped around her waist while the other wrapped around her neck, making it difficult for her to breathe. She struggled against his grip.

"Resist me!" She heard him say into her ear.

She continued to struggle against him and tried to pry his arm around her neck, but to no avail. She began losing consciousness.

He sighed in frustration and let her go before she passed out.

"You weren't trying!"

Mileena coughed, trying to catch her breath. "I was trying!" She blurted out.

"You weren't trying hard enough!"

She stood up and faced him.

"Okay. Let's do this again!"

Scorpion tilted his head. "Are you sure?"

"Attack me!" She shouted.

He charged at her with a flaming fist, but this time he would mix up his attacks. Mileena knew he was trying to throw her off, but she remained focused this time. Several times he would teleport behind her and try to grapple her, but she was able to dodge him and counter with her own attacks.

Soon, Mileena became caught up in the moment where everything faded away as they continued to attack in a beautifully choreographed combat. Each attack was blocked and each counter was evaded. They moved in grace and harmony.

They are alone together with no other soul around.

That is until Mileena caught a glimpse of someone peeking out from the bushes around the corner. This distracts her momentarily and catches her off guard.

Scorpion takes her down with a fist straight to her head, knocking her out cold.

Awe, shit!

This wasn't supposed to happen.

He turned around to see where Mileena had glanced to before and saw one of Shao Kahn's female servants approach him.

"I'm so sorry." She said, "I didn't mean for this to happen."

"What do you want?" he demanded.

"I was sent to check on Mileena."

"By who?"

"Her father."

He kneeled down by Mileena's side and checked on her. She was okay but unconscious. He cradled her in his arms and began carrying her back to her room. The servant followed him.

Along the way, he passed Kitana and Jade in the hallway.

"What happened to her?" Kitana asked with the look of concern.

"She's fine!" Scorpion snapped and continued walking away.

"She doesn't look fine!" Kitana snapped back.

"Don't worry, princess Kitana." He heard the servant say. "I will look after her."

He heard Kitana respond, "Please do. She needs all the rest she can get."

He walked into Mileena's room and carefully placed her on the bed. He caressed the spot where his fist had connected to the side of her head and sighed.

"The emperor would like a word with you."

He turned to face the servant standing by the doorway and narrowed his eyes at her.

She continued, "Once again, I apologize for the distraction. I will look after Mileena until she recovers."

He slowly walked past her, staring her down and resisting the urge to kick her through the wall.

He walked out into the hallway.

Maybe he'll throw her off the balcony instead when he comes back.

A while later…

Mileena awakened to find one of her father's servants patting a cold wet cloth to her head. The brunette servant gave her a warm smile.

Mileena swatted the cloth away from her face and sat up.

"What happened?"

"You had a sparring accident, but you're fine now."

Mileena looked around the room. "Where is Scorpion?"

"He is meeting with your father, but don't worry. He will be back soon."

Mileena placed a hand on her abdomen and wished she could ask if her child was okay. She placed another hand on her head.

"My head really hurts. Did I fall down hard?"

"Yes you did, but don't worry about it. You're fine now."

Mileena glanced at her stomach. "I hope so."

The servant leaned closer to her and asked in a hushed tone, "Does he know?"

Mileena looked at her confused. "What?"

She repeated, "Does he know?"

"Does he know about what?"

She chuckled, "Does he know you're carrying his child?"

Mileena felt her heart leap out of her chest and she immediately lunged at the woman. She was caught off guard and pinned to the ground with a Sai held at her throat.

"Who told you?" Mileena hissed.

"No one told me. You came to me in the forest."

"You're lying!" Mileena dug the Sai deeper into her throat.

"It's true! You don't recognize me, my dear."

Mileena lifted a brow in confusion. "What?"

"It's me, Zareta!"

Mileena took a closer look at her. She had amber colored eyes. "How do I know you're not lying to me?"

"I'll show you, my dear."

Her eyes changed from amber to gray and her brown hair had turned white. Slowly, the wrinkles appeared on her face.

Mileena watched in awe as she changed from a young woman to an old woman. She eased off her and let her stand up.

"Zareta! What are you doing here?"

Zareta gave her a warm smile. "I wanted to check on you and the little one." She patted Mileena's stomach.

"We're fine." Mileena replied and asked, "But how did you know about Scorpion?"

Zareta chuckled, "I saw the two of you in the courtyard together. That was enough to show me how much you cared for each other."

She placed her hand on Mileena's abdomen. "Now I understand why I sensed fire in this one."

"Will my child have Scorpion's abilities?"

"Of course, my dear! This one will definitely inherit his abilities, but will also inherit yours as well."

Mileena eyed her curiously. "Is my child going to be a boy? Or a girl?"

Zareta simply smiled and beckoned her to come closer as if she had a secret to tell.

Mileena got closer and Zareta whispered into her ear. Her eyes grew wide and she nearly squealed.

She couldn't wait to tell Scorpion.

I always wondered since Mileena has half of Kitana's DNA. Would that make their children half siblings too? Just a thought!
