It was dinnertime!

Mileena made her way down to the dining area. The food had already been set out. Her father was also there and already buzzed up on wine.

He noticed that she had entered the room.

"Mileena!" He seemed elated to see her. "Come, my true daughter! We have much to discuss."

Mileena sighed and approached slowly, still feeling bitter from their last conversation in the Flesh Pits.

Of course, he did not notice or care.

He was sitting on the massive chair on the edge of the table. Mileena sat on the chair next to him.

He beckoned her to come closer as if he had a secret to tell. Mileena leaned closer to him, expecting him to whisper.

But he boomed in her ear, "I have a task for you."

She flinched and leaned away from him.

"Okay." She replied in a low tone.

"We both know that Kitana is hiding something from us."

Mileena was silent and shrugged as if she didn't know what he was talking about.

He continued, "I know the two of you have been talking."

"We only talk about girl problems." Mileena quickly replied.

"You think I don't know what's going on?" His tone was firm this time.

She felt her heart leap in her chest and became more apprehensive but maintained her composure.

"What do you think is going on?" she asked curiously.

He narrowed his eyes at her. "Reptile informed me that she has been talking to an Earthrealmer and knows the truth about her true lineage. I also believe she has been talking to Raiden."

"She never told me any of this," Mileena replied.

Shao Kahn narrowed his eyes once more and leaned back into his chair. He took a huge swig of his wine and slammed down his metal cup.

"I believe you." He said.

Mileena looked at him, surprised. "You do?"

"Of course," he clasped her shoulder, "The day I introduced you as her long lost sister, she never believed me."

"How did you know she didn't believe you?" She curiously asked.

"I saw it in her eyes, she knew without a doubt that you were not her twin sister. She never told me, but I saw it in her eyes."

She nodded her head to her father, feigning whatever affection a daughter could give to her father.

"I know, father." She could see in the corner of her eye that Kitana was standing around the corner where her father couldn't see.

"I am your only true daughter who loves you very much." She lied, and he gave her shoulder a shake before letting go.

"That's good to know," he said and continued, "The task I ask of you is important. I want you to spy on Kitana and learn everything that she knows."

Mileena lifted a brow in confusion. He was more buzzed than she thought. Had he tasked her to do this from the beginning? Of course, she treated it like a game at first, but now she had grown closer to Kitana and was reluctant to continue the task.

"Of course, father. I won't let you down!" She lied to him again.

He nodded his head and before focusing on the food in front of him.

Kitana nodded her head to Mileena and walked into the room to make her presence known.

Shao Kahn scowled at her and shouted, "Where have you been? Your food is getting cold!"

"I'm sorry father," Kitana said, "I haven't been feeling well lately."

He chuckled at her, "Mileena has been improving her training very well in kicking your ass. Maybe you should train harder to defeat her next time."

Kitana resisted the urge to roll her eyes and replied, "Yes, father. I will try harder next time."

"I doubt you will." He replied and began pigging out on his food.

Mileena glanced at Kitana and gave her a concerned look. Kitana returned the look before focusing on her food.

Later on...

Kitana returned to her room and immediately began preparing a few things to take with her to Earthrealm.

She heard a small knock on her door.

She sighed and walked over to the door.

"Who is it?" She asked.

"It's just me." She heard Mileena's voice.

She opened the door and let Mileena come inside.

The moment she closed the door, Mileena quickly responded, "I won't spy on you!"

"I know."

"He believes I don't know anything."

"And that's a good thing, but we must be careful. Father mentioned what Reptile had informed him. That means he must have followed me to Earthrealm."

"He knows you've been sneaking out."

Kitana eyed her balcony doors. "Maybe I should find another way to leave this place."

Mileena also eyed the balcony doors. "Where else can you go?"

Kitana paced the room. "I think I can go through the armory and into the tunnels, but…"

She paused and turned to Mileena. "…I might need your help."

"Help with what?"

The sisters arrive at the armory but stayed hidden. They see Baraka and the other Tarkatans gathered around a circle to watch a sparring match.

Kitana turned to Mileena and said in a low voice, "Okay, I need you to distract them while I sneak by. That tunnel is just up ahead."

"Why can't you wait until they leave?"

"I tried that twice, and they never left. Or at least, they all don't leave at once. There's always a few of them lingering around. I think this is their hang out spot."

"Okay, then how should I distract them?"

Kitana smirked at her, "Do what you do best. Use your feminine charm to get all of their attention."

Mileena returned the smirk and eyed the Tarkatan, particularly Baraka.

They all cheered as the spar ended with one Tarkatan on the ground and the other as the victor.

"Who's next?" he shouted. He looked among the Tarkatan around him. None of them spoke up.

"Can I play?" Mileena chimed seductively.

All of the Tarkatan became silent, including Baraka. They stared as she slowly approached and swayed her hips.

"Princess Mileena!" the victor responded and kneeled before her. The others followed suit and all kneeled before her.

She walked into the circle and stood directly in front of the victor Tarkatan. They all watched in anticipation.

"Let's dance!" she said and got into her stance. He eyed Baraka as if waiting for his approval.

Baraka snarled at him, "Fight!"

He charged at Mileena and threw a punch at her. She moved aside with ease to avoid him and struck him with a kick to his side. He was stunned momentarily, and she attacked him mercilessly. He did his best to block her attacks, but ended up getting kicked in the chest and went flying backward. He stumbled upon two other Tarkatans and knocked them to the ground.

Mileena slightly glanced to find Kitana swiftly moving out of her hiding spot and maneuvering behind a column.

She advanced, forcing the Tarkatan to move their circle further away to clear the path for Kitana.

He was back on his feet and moved to attack. Mileena evaded his fist and swiftly landed another kick to his chest. He went down, and this time he didn't get up.

She turned to face the others.

"Who's next?" She asked.

None of them approached or stepped forward.

Mileena smirked and pointed at a random Tarkatan.

"You!" she shouted, "You're next!"

He seemed reluctant to step forward. The other Tarkatan shove him forward.

"And you!" she pointed at another Tarkatan who also appeared reluctant to step forward. "You're also next!

He was shoved forward as well.

"Now fight!" she shouted and immediately attacked.

Kitana watched from a distance and stealthily moved forward.

Mileena rushed the two Tarkatans and took them down with ease. She continued to challenge two more, reducing their circle. She attacked them while also forcing them to move further into a corner.

Kitana had reached the tunnel and glanced back to find that Mileena had beaten all but one Tarkatan.

Baraka.

She didn't challenge him. Instead, she approached him with her swaying hips and stood in front of him. He seemed hypnotized by her and froze in place.

"Kneel before your future Empress!" she demanded.

Baraka obeyed and keeled down before her with his eyes on the ground.

Mileena gazed over at Kitana by the tunnel. She glanced down at Baraka to make sure he wasn't watching and gave Kitana a wave goodbye.

Kitana gave her a brief nod before entering the tunnel.

Back in Mileena's room…

Mileena stood by the railing of the balcony and gazed out towards the purple horizon. She contemplated her own plan of escape, but she was also having second thoughts about leaving. What if she stayed and ruled Outworld as the Empress? Then Scorpion can take the throne beside her, and together they can rule Outworld. But her father will have to give up the throne first. Kitana's words ran through her thoughts.

"Do you really think father will let you keep your child or accept Scorpion as the father of your child?

She didn't see any reason why he wouldn't. From her own observation, her father seemed to like having Scorpion around as an ally, even more so as a friend.

She also didn't want to take the chance of dealing with her father's wrath and possibly to have Scorpion exiled back to the Netherrealm or if there's anything worse that can happen to a wraith.

As for her child, she feared that her father would not accept it and force her to abort.

Maybe if she only mentions it to Scorpion and keeps it a secret from everyone else, then she wouldn't have to worry about the repercussions.

But how will he react upon hearing the news?

Scorpion arrived back to Mileena's room. He noticed her standing by the railing of the balcony.

He approached her. "Are you feeling well?"

Mileena turned to face him and smiled under her veil.

"I'm fine." She replied and leaned against the railing. "I was just thinking about our future together."

He noticed her hand resting on her abdomen.

"Are you sure you're feeling well?"

"Yes." She replied and approached closer to him. "There's something I need to tell you."

There was a hint of uncertainty in her voice. He decided not to question it and waited for her to speak again. She beckoned him to come closer, and he stood mere inches from her.

She leaned into him and whispered into his ear, "I'm pregnant!"

Scorpion stood there and stared at her with eyes wide open.

Mileena waited for him to respond, but he remained silent. She could feel her heart racing in anticipation.

"Please say something!"

He took a step back and shook his head.

"That can't be possible!"

"But, it's true." Mileena stepped closer. "I saw a healer. And she confirmed it."

He continued to shake his head and back away, "This wasn't supposed to happen."

Mileena approached closer, "But it did happen."

Mileena grasped his hands and placed them on her abdomen. He became still for a few moments.

"Do you see?" she asked. "Do you see our child?"

He held his hands on her abdomen and seemed to be in a trance.

Mileena felt a warming sensation growing from within and also felt it coming from the palm of Scorpion's hands.

His eyes were wide but slightly narrowed. He seemed to relax.

"My son has returned to me."

I really struggled with this chapter but I finally got it done. Let me know what you think.
