This chapter is my version of MK9.
Mileena began to stir and found herself bound with her hands tied behind her back.
She wasn't too sure where she was.
She was in a container of some sort, and it was almost pitch black.
What the fuck?
She struggled against her bonds. She also figured she was in this position because her clone had taken control and attacked Raiden and the Earthrealmer.
The doors to the container opened, and she saw a familiar face peering in.
Kitana!
"Sister!" Mileena said, overjoyed.
"Mileena!" Kitana opened the doors wide open and shouted to someone off to the side, "Why is she tied up like that?"
Mileena noticed the guy with the hat come into view.
"She attacked me and Raiden! What was I supposed to do?" He said.
Kitana entered inside and untied her. "I'm sorry about those guys! You must have been so scared."
"I swear that wasn't me! It was my clone! Wait, I am my clone!"
"What is she talking about?" The guy asked.
Kitana turned to him. "Mileena is my clone! She was supposed to replace me as Shao Kahn's daughter!"
"No, I mean, I really am my clone!" Mileena said.
Kitana looked at her questionably and shouted at the guy. "Look what you did to her, Stryker! She's not making any sense."
Stryker? So that's his name.
"Hey, don't blame me! It was Raiden's lightning that took her down."
Mileena grabbed Kitana's arm, getting her attention. "You have to help me! Shang Tsung created another clone of me! I'm still at the Flesh Pits in Outworld!"
Kitana gave her a confused look. "What? I don't understand. You are here now!"
"No, this is my clone! I don't know how I got in this body."
Kitana lifted a brow, but then she began groping and poking deep into Mileena's stomach.
Mileena winced, "Ou."
"There's no baby! You should have a bump like mine!" Kitana said.
"I told you. I'm still at the Flesh Pits!"
Kitana turned to Stryker. "I need to go to Outworld and get her out of there!"
"You might need to tie me up again. I don't know when I'll get back to my body."
Stryker looked at her and said, "You mean when you attacked me and Raiden out of the blue?"
"Yes. My clone will retake control of this body."
"Where's Scorpion?" Kitana asked Mileena.
She shook her head. "I don't know. He doesn't know any of this!"
"Who's Scorpion?" Stryker asked.
Kitana bounded Mileena's hands behind her back. "I'll come for you! Your clone will stay here."
"Please, hurry! Reptile is probably touching me right now!"
Kitana gawked at her. "What? That sick bastard!"
Kitana then turned to Stryker. "If you see a yellow-clad, hell-spawned ninja, that is who Scorpion is. He might show up unexpectedly. Let everyone know!"
"Got it! But what if he attacks?"
"Try to convince him this is Mileena's clone!"
They left Mileena back in the container and closed the doors.
Mileena sat and waited.
A few minutes go by, and one of the doors opened. She sees Stryker looking in.
"Kitana and Jade are on their way to Outworld!"
"Okay, good. I hope they get there soon!"
He gave her a weary look and turned to leave.
"I'm sorry my clone attacked you and Raiden."
"It's okay. No hard feelings."
He closed the door.
Scorpion teleported at the entrance of the Cathedral. He noticed the Earthrealm forces gathered ahead. He stealthily crept closer. He looked around for Mileena, but she was nowhere in sight.
He sighed and decided to confront them.
He teleported closer and approached them.
"Where's Mileena?" He demanded.
Stryker approached him. "She's not here!"
"Where is she?"
"Kitana and Jade left to go get her in Outworld!"
What?
They hear muffled screams from the container. "Help! Get me out of here!"
Stryker sighed, "Aw, shit! Look, I can explain!"
Scorpion clenched his fists. "You lied!"
He kicked Stryker down with a flaming kick, and the others immediately started attacking him all at once.
Scorpion dodged most of their attacks, but he was taken down by Nightwolf's arrow piercing through his shoulder.
"Stop!" He shouted.
The others back off, and Nightwolf approaches Scorpion. "Mileena is not here! Shang Tsung created another clone to replace her."
They hear banging sounds from the container and the clone screaming, "Please, Scorpion, don't listen to them! Help me!"
He narrowed his eyes at Nightwolf. "Why should I believe you?"
"Just wait, Kitana and Jade will be back soon with Mileena, and you will see for yourself."
"Nightwolf, the Lin Kuei surround us!" the cybernetic Subzero alerted.
The cybernetic Lin Kuei appear inside the Cathedral and surround them. Scorpion ripped the arrow out of his shoulder and stood up.
The Lin Kuei then attack the Earthrealmers.
Scorpion simply walked around them since none of the Lin Kuei attacked him, and he approached the container. He ripped off one of the doors and looked inside.
He saw Mileena in the corner with her arms tied behind her.
"Scorpion, you came! Please get me out of here!"
He entered the container and assessed her.
She looked at him expectantly. "Please, untie me so we can get out of here!"
He eyed her suspiciously and placed a hand on her stomach. She had a look of terror in her eyes when she realized what he was doing.
He narrowed his eyes. "There's no child!"
She was silent.
"You are a clone!"
He grabbed her by the neck and slammed her on her back. "Where is Mileena?"
She smirked under her veil and gave him an alluring gaze. "You don't need her. I can take her place."
He grasped her neck harder, and she struggled to breathe.
"You're an abomination!"
He watched her writhe for a while, but he didn't want to kill her just yet. He loosened his grip, and she gasped, coughing and panting.
"Where is she?" He shouted.
She seemed to pause for a moment, and then she suddenly screamed for help.
"Help! He's trying to kill me!"
He choked her again and silenced her. She struggled and writhed.
One of the cybernetic Lin Kuei spots them. He enters the container and begins attacking Scorpion.
Scorpion engages him and quickly takes him down. He then finds Mileena's clone had escaped.
Fucking bitch!
He rushed out of the container and found one of the other Lin Kuei cutting her ties loose. She then turned and ran away while Scorpion pursued her. He easily tore through the cybernetic and chased her to the other side.
He teleported in front of her, stopping her dead in her tracks, and knocked her down with a flaming punch.
He suddenly hears a loud shriek reverberating throughout the Cathedral. He turned his head to find Sindel approaching from the entrance, making her presence known with her sonic scream.
The clone quickly flees while he's distracted and runs toward Sindel.
"Mother, he's trying to kill me!" She yelled.
Sindel glared at Scorpion. "Then he will die with the rest of these pathetic Earthrealmers!"
The Earthrealm warriors attack Sindel and the clone.
Sindel took down Nightwolf first, and then Johnny Cage next while the clone attacked Scorpion. He easily evaded her attacks and countered with a flaming kick. She hopped back up and charged at him again. She pulled out her Sais and attacked. He dodged her every move and took her down with a grapple attack. He pinned her down and pulled out his sword, and held it to her neck.
"Where's Mileena?" He demanded.
"Mother, help me!" She cried out.
Scorpion felt a swift kick to his side. The kick was powerful enough to knock him a few feet away. He glanced up, surprised by Sindel's unusual strength. She had already taken down all of the Earthrealm warriors.
"You're supposed to be protecting my daughter, not trying to kill her!"
The clone scrambled to her feet and stood behind Sindel. She gave him an arrogant look. Scorpion glared and stood up.
"That is not Mileena. She's a fucking clone!"
Sindel emitted a dark laugh. "You think I don't know that. Mileena is a worthy replacement for Kitana."
Scorpion shook his head.
This bitch doesn't get it!
"You will pay for your treacherous actions!"
Scorpion got in his stance as Sindel and the clone charged at him.
Mileena came to in the Flesh Pits again.
However, she kept her eyes closed when she sensed Reptile standing nearby. She tried her best not to move, and it didn't help that her beating heart was racing a mile a minute.
She felt his hand descend upon her cheek, caressing her.
She dared not to move.
She then felt him caressing her hair.
She resisted the urge to open her eyes and scream at him.
A faint noise in the distance caused him to stop and turn away from her. She slightly opened her eyes and noticed him looking the other way. He turned his head towards her, and she quickly closed her eyes.
She swore if he fucking touched her one more time, there will be hell to pay. And not just from her, but from Scorpion too!
Another faint noise could be heard in the distance. She heard him sigh and walk away from her. She listened to his footsteps, moving further away. She hoped that he had left the Flesh Pits.
She opened her eyes and turned to look. Reptile was nowhere in sight.
All she could do was wait.
She could faintly hear more noises in the distance, but she couldn't make out what was going on.
A few moments later, she heard footsteps approaching, and she closed her eyes again. She didn't know if it was Reptile or Shang Tsung, and she dared not to open her eyes to look.
Then she heard a familiar voice, "Mileena."
She opened her eyes, and she felt relief. "Kitana!"
Kitana loosened the restraints and helped Mileena off the table. "Let's get out of here!"
"Wait! Reptile was here."
"Don't worry, Jade and I took care of him."
"Did you see Shang Tsung? Reptile was waiting for him to return."
"No. Maybe he got held up somewhere."
Kitana had swiped a handful of healing serums while they were leaving.
Mileena followed Kitana outside of the Flesh Pits. She noticed Jade standing by while Reptile lay unconscious on the ground.
Mileena couldn't resist the urge to run over to him and started kicking him. "Motherfucker!"
Jade gawked at Mileena. "He's already down. We took care of him."
"Yeah, I know," Mileena said casually and gave him one more kick to the head. "That was for touching me, you sick bastard!"
"Let's go!" Kitana said and turned to leave.
"Wait!" Mileena said and stood over Reptile.
"What are you going to do?" Jade asked curiously.
Mileena gave her a mischievous grin. "I'm gonna hurt him!"
She hopped up, lifting her heel, and stomped on his groin. She crushed her heel down, twisting it until she heard a sickening crunch.
She stood over him once more. "I hope that hurts a lot, you sick fuck!"
She spat on him and walked away. "Now, we can go." She said, walking past Kitana and Jade.
The trio left together.
They enter a portal to Earthrealm and arrive at the Cathedral.
However, when they get there, they discover Sindel and Mileena's clone had taken down the Earthrealm warriors.
Kitana had a look of shock on her face. "Mother?"
"That is not your mother!" Jade shouted and charged at Sindel. Mileena's clone began attacking her before she could reach Sindel.
Sindel approached the sisters.
"Interesting!" She said, looking between the two of them. "The sorcerer didn't mention another clone!"
Mileena glared at her and pointed to the clone. "No, she's the clone! I'm Kitana's true sister!"
Kitana widened her eyes in surprise at Mileena. She had never referred to her as such. She couldn't help but feel a swell of pride and stood beside Mileena.
"It's true," Kitana said, "She is my true sister!"
The clone took down Jade and now turned her attention to the sisters. She stood by Sindel's side.
"Very well," Sindel jeered, "You will join the rest of your Earthrealm friends in death!"
She rushed forward and attacked Kitana while the clone rushed toward Mileena.
Mileena fought with her clone, and neither of them could land a blow. The clone pulled out her Sais and began attacking. Mileena easily evaded her attacks and took her down. The clone grabbed hold of her and took her down with her. They wrestled around until the clone pinned her down.
"Your lover was so much fun to play with!" She emitted a girlish laugh. "He sure could put up a good fight!"
Mileena twisted her hips and able to knock the clone off. She then pinned her down and held one of her Sais to her throat.
"Bitch, what did you do?"
The clone emitted another girlish laugh, which only managed to piss Mileena off even more.
Alright, bitch!
Mileena stabbed the clone in her right breast. She screamed in pain. Mileena gave her a smirk, digging it deeper.
"Not so cute now, are you!"
"Okay. okay!" She screamed, "He's behind that podium over there!" The clone turned her head to show her. "I begged mother not to kill him. I wanted to keep him!"
Mileena glanced at the podium and back at the clone. "If you're lying to me, you're gonna lose both your tits!"
Kitana was able to keep up with Sindel but found it difficult to take her down. Sindel's unusual strength prevented Kitana from making any counter-attacks. She aimed a kick to Sindel's head, but she grabbed her leg and slammed her elbow hard onto her knee, cracking her kneecap.
Mileena heard Kitana cry out in pain and glanced over to find her on the ground, holding her leg and crawling away from Sindel. The momentary distraction caused the clone to take down Mileena. She kicked Mileena on the head and knocked her unconscious.
Sindel approached Kitana and prepared to impale her with her heel, but instead, she was stabbed by a couple of Sais through her chest. Sindel angrily pulled out the Sais and spun around to find Mileena's clone glaring at her.
"What is this?"
Mileena tilted her head and chuckled, "I am in control now."
Sindel glanced over at Mileena's unconscious form and back to her clone. "Oh, I see. You can transfer your consciousness into the clone. Clever! But you will still die by my hand!"
Mileena summoned her Sais and got in her stance. "Not if I kill you first, bitch!"
Sindel charged at her, and Mileena teleported, kicking her in the chest. Sindel stumbled back, and Mileena unleashed a fury of attacks, but it was difficult with the aching pain in her right tit. She did her best to ignore the pain and concentrated on fighting.
Sindel retaliated with her powerful attacks, knocking Mileena down a couple of times. Mileena hopped back up and stabbed both her Sais in Sindel's chest once again, but she only stumbled back and gave her a smirk.
"You can't kill me! I have the power of Shang Tsung and his souls!"
"So, that's why he never returned to the Flesh Pits!"
Sindel pulled the Sais out and threw them at her. Mileena dodged the Sais and dashed forward. She connected a kick to her side, followed by a punch to the face. Sindel snapped her head forward with a smug look. Mileena growled and attacked again. She aimed a swift punch to Sindel's face, but her fist was caught and twisted painfully. Mileena cried out in pain.
Sindel gave her swift, powerful kick to the abdomen, stunning her, and continued hitting her ruthlessly and mercilessly while she still had a hold of her wrist. She grabbed her by the hair and tossed her against the wall like a rag doll. Mileena hit with so much force, cracking the wall. She slumped over, coughing up blood.
"Your pathetic!" Sindel mocked and dangerously approached her.
She slammed her heel into her chest. The heel penetrated through, causing her to cry out in pain.
"Your clone will die, and you will die with it!"
Sindel yanked her heel out of her chest and turned to Mileena's unconscious form.
"No!" Mileena gurgled.
Sindel walked over to her unconscious body and held her head up, facing toward Mileena.
"Say goodbye to your body!" Sindel put her in a headlock in an attempt to snap her neck.
"No!" Kitana screamed out.
An arrow pierced through Sindel's neck. She screamed in pain, and she let go. She turned around, pulling the arrow out of her neck.
Nightwolf stood from a distance.
"You're still alive!" She seethed and ran after him. They engaged in a battle.
Kitana crawled over to Mileena's unconscious form and attempted to wake her up.
"Come on, wake up!" She said, shaking her, but there was no response.
Kitana then glanced over at Mileena's clone. She was barely conscious.
"Mileena, are you still there?" She shouted at her.
She coughed up more blood and gurgled, "Yes."
Kitana crawled over to her. "Is there any way you can come back to your own body?"
She gurgled, "I can only wait!" Her breathing became labored, and she started wheezing.
"Stay with me, or you might end up dying with your clone."
She nodded her head and did her best to stay conscious.
"Did you mean what you said about me as your true sister?"
"Yes."
Kitana gazed at her with regret. "I shouldn't have abandoned you."
Mileena shook her head. "You didn't."
"I never told you this, but I had Zareta put a protection spell on me. But I think somehow it also worked for you."
"What?"
"The spell was only meant for me. Zareta explained after that it was because you're a part of me. I didn't believe her at first, but then I noticed how much you've changed since then."
Mileena curiously listened.
Kitana continued, "That spell protected you from Shao Kahn's influence and the willpower he had over you."
Mileena smiled, "You protected me from him."
"Yes."
She coughed up blood and panted heavily.
"Sister!" She gurgled. "It doesn't hurt anymore." Her eyes slowly closed, and her head slumped to the side.
"No. Stay awake!" Kitana grabbed her shoulders and shook her. There was no response.
She turned and glanced back at Mileena's body. She didn't move and still appeared to be unconscious.
Kitana crawled over to her and began shaking her. "Mileena, wake up!"
There was no response.
"Wake up!" She shouted, shaking her even harder.
Still no response.
She slapped her across the face. "Wake up, damn you!"
She gave her another slap to the face and shook her. "Please, wake up!" Her tears began to roll down her cheeks uncontrollably.
Nightwolf sacrifices himself to kill Sindel in a blinding, ancestral light.
Jade stirs awake and slowly gets up. She noticed Mileena's dead clone lying in a pool of blood. She then finds Kitana holding onto Mileena, sobbing and rocking back and forth.
She approaches her. "Kitana?"
"Please, come back!" Kitana sobbed. "Please!"
Jade knelt in front of Kitana. "What happened to her?"
"She won't wake up!"
Jade placed a hand on Mileena's shoulder. She was slightly cold to the touch. She gave Kitana a sorrowful look. "I'm sorry, Kitana. She's gone."
Kitana wailed and held Mileena closer to her.
This is not the end. I promise!
I've always believed the idea of Kitana, Jade, and Mileena as a deadly alliance in their own right.
