Jade didn't know how to comfort Kitana. She only placed a hand on Kitana's shoulder, gently caressing and trying to reassure her with words of comfort.

Kitana didn't respond and was inconsolable.

Jade hears someone approaching from behind. She turned around and saw Scorpion. She only gave him a sorrowful look and stepped aside when he came closer.

He noticed Mileena in Kitana's arms.

He knelt in front of Kitana. She looked at him, sobbing and tears streaming down her face.

"What happened?"

Kitana only responded with a whimper and held Mileena closer to her.

Jade responded for her. "Mileena's gone. I think Sindel killed her."

Scorpion gave her a distraught look, but he said nothing.

He watched Kitana sob and held her close. Then, he reached out and touched Mileena on the shoulder, tempted to snatch her out of Kitana's arms so he could hold her himself. But he refrained and simply took hold of Mileena's hand.

Kitana suddenly felt the warmth emanating from Mileena's abdomen. She slightly calmed down and placed a hand on her stomach.

Scorpion curiously watched, but he didn't question her.

Kitana could feel the warmth gradually increasing until it engulfed Mileena's entire body. She could feel the life returning to her.

Scorpion felt it as well and watched in anticipation.

Mileena awakened and let out a gasp.

Kitana was overjoyed and embraced her in a tight hug. "Mileena! You're okay!"

Mileena coughed, "I can't breathe!"

"I'm sorry." Kitana released her. "You wouldn't wake up. I thought you died!"

Mileena glanced at her clone. "Actually, I did die! In that clone's body."

Mileena turned her head and noticed Scorpion.

"Scorpion!" She hopped up and embraced him. He held her close.

Jade approached Kitana. "Can you stand up?"

Kitana shook her head. "No. I think my knee is broken."

She pulled out a healing serum and drank the blue liquid. She eyed the empty container. "I'm glad I swiped a few of these."

They hear the crackling sound of lightning, and in a flash of light, Raiden and Liu Kang appear not too far from them.

Liu Kang looked at Kitana, concerned, and immediately rushed over to her side. "Kitana! What happened?"

"My knee is broken, but I'll be fine." She reassured him.

Raiden approached and eyed Scorpion and Mileena suspiciously.

Scorpion noticed his gaze and protectively held Mileena closer to him. Mileena glanced up at Scorpion when she felt his embrace tighten, and she turned her head and noticed Raiden's gaze.

Jade noticed their exchanged glances and approached Raiden. "It's okay. They had nothing to do with this. It was Sindel and Mileena's clone."

"Mileena's clone?" He said with a confused look.

Jade pointed to the clone's corpse lying in a pool of blood. Raiden gazed at the clone's corpse.

"Shang Tsung created another clone." He looked back at Jade and asked, "But why?"

Jade shrugged, "You're asking the wrong person." She turned her gaze at Mileena.

Mileena felt all eyes on her, including Scorpion.

She nervously sighed.

Well, sooner or later, everyone will have to know the truth.

"Shang Tsung found out I was pregnant, so he created another clone to replace me."

"What?" Jade said with a look of shock. Raiden and Liu Kang also had a look of shock on their faces.

"It's true!" Mileena said while caressing her stomach.

Jade glanced at Scorpion. "We don't have to guess who the father is. It's quite obvious at this point!"

Mileena turned her gaze to Scorpion. "Reptile told him about us!"

Scorpion didn't seem so surprised, but she noticed his eyes slightly narrowed. "Does your father know?"

"No, the bastard sorcerer wasn't going to tell him anyway. He's a coward like Reptile!"

Raiden turned his attention to Sonya and Johnny Cage, who were beginning to stir awake, and he went to tend to them.

Liu Kang picked up Kitana, cradling her in his arms. "We need to get you somewhere safe! You're in no condition to fight."

"What about Mileena? I'm not leaving without her."

Liu Kang sighed, "Okay, she can come too."

Mileena's eyes widen in surprise. "What? Where?"

"The White Lotus temple." He replied.

They were taken to a helicopter, waiting to transport them.

Liu Kang placed Kitana onto a seat while a medic tended to her broken kneecap.

Mileena stood outside the helicopter, looking in, and turned to Scorpion. "I don't want to leave you."

He caressed her cheek. "I'll be fine. You'll be safe with them."

She nervously glanced at the helicopter and looked back at him. "Will you come back for me?"

He held her close and whispered in her ear. "I will come back for you!"

"Promise?"

"I promise."

Mileena released him, and he pulled out a familiar object. Her eyes lit up! "You kept it with you!"

Scorpion handed the teddy bear to her. "I kept it for you."

Mileena grabbed the teddy bear and held it close to her.

"We need to go!" Jade yelled from the helicopter.

Mileena turned and stepped onto the helicopter.

Jade turned to Scorpion and shouted out over the noise. "Don't worry. I'll watch over her!"

He nodded at her.

The helicopter lifted off and flew away.

Liu Kang turned to Scorpion. "What will you do now?"

He turned and looked at Liu Kang. "I'm going to settle a few scores!" He then vanished in a puff of flaming smoke.

Johnny approached Liu Kang. "What do you think he means by that?"

Liu Kang shrugged and replied, "We shall see!"

Shao Kahn prepared to enter the open portal to Earthrealm. He stopped when he saw Scorpion approaching him with Mileena in his arms. Her bloodied body hung lifelessly.

"What happened to her?"

Scorpion replied, "She died, defending Sindel."

Shao Kahn reached out and caressed her cheek.

Scorpion curiously watched him and wondered if Shao Kahn had actually cared for Mileena.

"Her death will not be in vain!" He said and looked at Scorpion. "Raiden will pay for this!"

He said nothing more and stepped through the portal.

Scorpion left her body down in the lair.

When he returned back to the palace, he noticed Reptile crawling towards the Soul Chamber.

He narrowed his eyes and quickly approached him.

Reptile turned to look at him when he approached. "I need help!"

He only earned a swift kick to the face, causing him to hiss in pain.

"You don't need my help. I know what you did!"

Despite his pain, Reptile gave him a cocky grin. "I wasn't going to hurt her."

Scorpion slightly raised a brow.

Reptile continued, "I just wanted a taste!"

Scorpion tilted his head, remembering what Baraka had told him. The very thought of him touching Mileena made his blood boil. And now, the thought of Reptile also touching Mileena only added to his growing rage inside. His eyes turned to flaming orbs, and he clenched his fists.

Reptile's grin quickly faded.

"You wanted a taste?" His voice turned dark and sinister. "I'll give you a fucking taste!"

He hit him with a flaming kick to the face. His green blood spewed from his nostrils. "Of your own blood!"

The saurian quickly scrambled to get away from him, but Scorpion caught him with a flaming kick to his side, stunning him.

"You put your fucking hands on her!"

He hissed, "She asked for it! She wanted me to kiss her!"

Scorpion gave him another flaming kick to his side, breaking a few ribs and causing him to cry out in pain.

He pulled out his kunai. "I should cut out your fucking tongue!"

Scorpion attempted to reach for his tongue, but the saurian made it difficult when he began fighting back, even while still on the ground.

Frustrated, Scorpion began beating him senseless.

Reptile tried shielding himself, but it was no use against Scorpion's flaming punches. Scorpion pounded into his face until he was barely conscious. He hit him with one last punch, breaking his jaw.

He reached into his mouth and forced his tongue out. He then struck it with his kunai, severing it completely and causing the saurian to cry out in pain.

Scorpion merely tossed it aside like garbage.

Reptile began coughing up blood.

Scorpion watched him struggle to breathe.

He scoffed, "Serves you right!"

He turned away from him and walked away. He left him there to die.

Scorpion returned to Earthrealm.

He teleported to several places, searching. The Special Forces seemed to be doing good, keeping the Outworld forces at bay.

He went down into the Subway and found who he was looking for.

Baraka and two other Tarkatans had a guy cornered. The poor guy threw his hands up and pleaded, "Please, don't hurt me! I'm unarmed."

"You will die, Earthrealmer!" One of the Tarkatan's said. He lifted his blade to slash him.

A kunai pierced throw his shoulder before he could finish the blow.

Scorpion fiercely pulled the Tarkatan towards him, and he sliced him in half.

The guy managed to run past Baraka and the other Tarkatan towards the exit. "Thank you!" He shouted to Scorpion as he ran away.

Baraka snarled at him, "You let him get away!"

"So what!" Scorpion scoffed, "I only came here to kill you!"

Baraka extended his blades, and the other Tarkatan did the same. "Then you're a traitor! Killing me won't gain you the emperor's daughter!"

Scorpion gave him a conniving smirk. "I don't need to. I already have her heart."

"You lie, wraith!"

The Tarkatan threw his blades at him. Scorpion quickly dodged them and blocked his oncoming attacks. He charged at Scorpion, but he got his throat slashed, and he gagged in agony and fell over.

Baraka charged at him and tried to slash him. Scorpion teleported behind him and hit him with a flaming punch. Baraka stumbled a little, but he quickly recovered and continued to attack.

Scorpion caught Baraka again with a flaming punch to the face, stunning him. He kicked him in the chest, knocking him to the ground, and rapidly approached. Baraka slashed at him, and Scorpion stopped to avoid being struck.

Baraka quickly stood up. "Mileena would never consort with the likes of you!"

Scorpion emitted a dark laugh. "She already has! And now she carries my child!"

Baraka's face showed a mixture of hurt and anger.

"I don't believe you! You fucking lie!" He growled and attacked once more.

This time Baraka's attacks were more wild and ferocious. Scorpion was more calm and focused. This actually gave him the advantage over Baraka's erratic movements. Baraka managed to land a few nicks, but not enough to take down Scorpion.

Scorpion caught his fist and quickly hit him with a flaming kick, knocking him through one of the pillars. He dangerously approached as Baraka struggled to get back up. He gave him kicked him in the face, knocking him back down.

Scorpion grabbed one of his broad swords and sliced off Baraka's right arm. He let out a painful cry. Scorpion sliced off his other arm, earning another painful cry. He put away his sword and grabbed his kunai. He stabbed it into Baraka's neck. He dragged him with the spear rope and threw him onto the subway tracks. Baraka lifted his head and gazed ahead as an oncoming subway train sped towards him.

Scorpion watched as the subway train splattered Baraka's guts everywhere.

"That was for Mileena!"

Scorpion teleported back to the Netherrealm, where Quan Chi awaits.

The bastard necromancer waited for him to brief him.

"Shao Kahn has entered the portal to Earthrealm."

Quan Chi smirked, "Good! Now we wait for his demise. Shinnok will be most pleased by this."

Scorpion noticed a few more undead warriors. Sindel stood next to the Earthrealm warriors she had killed before her own demise. Now they were under Quan Chi's spell.

Quan Chi opened a window of sorts to Earthrealm, watching the battle between Shao Kahn and Raiden.

Scorpion watched from a distance.

"How's Mileena?" The necromancer asked unexpectedly.

Scorpion slightly raised a brow and replied, "She's dead!"

"What a shame," Quan Chi said casually, "I would have liked to know who put a spell on her."

Scorpion callously stated, "It doesn't matter now. She's dead!"

Quan Chi emitted a dark chuckle. "Of course!"

They continued watching the fight until Shao Kahn was defeated.

Shinnok walked past Scorpion and stood next to Quan Chi. "At last, Shao Kahn is dead!"

Quan Chi responded, "Now we can take Earthrealm!"

In the back of Scorpion's mind, he had formulated a plan to help thwart Shinnok and Quan Chi.

After a few more trips, they arrive at the White Lotus Temple.

A few monks greet them and escort them to the living quarters.

Mileena couldn't help but take in the scenery. She would often stop and look around while a monk would come back for her and gesture her to follow him again.

She was led into a room next door to Kitana's room. She settled herself in the room and sat on the bed with the teddy bear in her arms.

Later that night, she walked into Kitana's room. The room was lit by single candlelight on the stand next to the bed. Kitana sat up on her bed with her knee slightly propped by a pillow. She noticed Mileena walking into the room.

"Mileena, welcome to my room!"

Mileena looked around the room. "So, is this where you and Liu Kang stay at?"

"Yeah, this is where we stay."

"Is this the love chamber too?" She chimed somewhat sarcastically.

Kitana chuckled, "Yeah! I guess you can call it that."

"Where is Jade staying at?"

"Not too far. I think she's down the hall." Then Kitana added in a more heartfelt tone. "Before I forget, I wanted to thank you for helping Jade escape."

"Oh, that was nothing."

"I would have never known she was locked up until one day she just showed up. I thought Shao Kahn had sent her to come to get me, but she told me what happened."

Kitana released a remorseful sigh, "I shouldn't have abandoned her too."

"I think she would have gone with you, but I still would have stayed."

"Was it because you don't want to leave Scorpion?"

Mileena nodded her head. "Yeah."

Kitana noticed Mileena slightly fidgeting. "Are you okay?"

Mileena approached closer and sat down next to her. "I'm afraid Scorpion won't come back. He's a wraith bound to Quan Chi."

"I believe he will find his way to you, even if it means breaking whatever spell Quan Chi put on him."

Mileena wasn't convinced. "What if he can't?"

"I know Liu Kang and the others will help him find a way."

Mileena put her head down.

Kitana sighed, "Is there something else you wanted to ask me?"

Mileena looked at her hesitantly. "I was wondering if I could sleep with you tonight."

"What? Are you serious?"

"I'm not comfortable sleeping by myself until Scorpion comes back."

"Mileena, you're a grown adult!"

"Please!"

She sighed once more and replied, "Okay, fine!"

"Yay!" Mileena hopped up. "I'll go get my teddy bear!" She rushed out of the room.

Kitana had carefully shifted from the center to the left side of the bed to make room.

Mileena returned with her teddy bear and got into the blankets on the right side of the bed. She cuddled by Kitana's side with the teddy bear in her arms.

Kitana gazed at her and wondered if she was going to be sleeping by her side every night until the guys come back.

She sighed and decided that she was going to have to get used to it.

Kitana blew out the candle and lied down.

"Good night, Mileena!"

She felt Mileena slightly shuffle, and she gleefully replied, "Good night, sister!"

A week had passed by, and they received word about Shao Kahn's defeat. The Outworld army had retreated, but the Netherrealm forces were now attacking. This was troubling news since they knew Scorpion was a part of it.

Kitana's knee had completely healed thanks to the healing serum. She now moved about the temple with Jade mostly by her side.

Mileena wandered outside of the temple and into the forest. She found a small creek and a spot where she could sit down and take in the scenery.

She listened to the sounds of the stream, occasionally throwing a pebble.

Then she heard a familiar voice.

"Beautiful, isn't it?"

Mileena turned her head to find the familiar old woman. She wore her usual brown cloak with her white hair flowing in the wind.

"Zareta!" She said, surprised. "How did you know I'd be here?"

Zareta chuckled, "I didn't. I came here to see Kitana, and she told me you were here."

"Oh, I didn't know you came to Earthrealm too."

"I travel between the realms often, but I stray far from conflict. I like the peace and quiet."

Zareta sat next to Mileena. "Have you thought about my proposal?"

"I have, but…." Mileena paused for a moment, "What if I choose to stay here?"

"Here? At the monastery?"

Mileena shook her head. "No, I meant here in Earthrealm."

Zareta chuckled, "My dear, that was part of my proposal. I would have brought you here to Earthrealm, where you will be safe."

Mileena gave her a curious look. "Really?"

"Yes."

"If you say so," Mileena said, unconvinced.

Zareta chuckled, "I understand if you would rather stay here with your sister."

"I don't plan on staying here for long. Scorpion will come back for me."

"And where will you go then?"

Mileena gazed at her in deep thought and then shrugged. "I don't know."

"Well, if you're unsure, then you should still consider my proposal."

"What about Scorpion?"

Zareta chuckled, "He can tag along too."

Zareta placed a hand on Mileena's abdomen. "He is growing stronger."

"Scorpion said his son has returned to him. Is that true?"

Zareta smiled and responded, "Yes, he has. And you've given him a second chance to live again."

Zareta removed her hand and gazed at Mileena. "Just as Kitana has given you a second chance at life."

"She told me about the protection spell."

Zareta chuckled, "The spell was meant only for Kitana. When she first found out about her true lineage, she feared that Shao Kahn's influence would steer her in the wrong direction. I guess the spell worked for the both of you."

"I guess it did." Mileena gave her a curious look. "So, was the clone a part of your plan all along?"

Zareta gave her a warm smile but said nothing.

Mileena returned the smile. "I knew it!"

"The first thing I did when I arrived was to visit the Flesh Pits. I was very curious about Shang Tsung's work and of your creation. He practically left everything out in the open for me to discover and work my own magic. He didn't think to check the clone for any spells from an outside source."

"Is that how I was able to transfer my mind to my clone's body?"

Zareta chuckled, "Yes, my dear. Although precisely it was your consciousness, you were able to transfer."

Mileena shrugged, "My mind! My consciousness! Aren't they the same thing?"

Zareta laughed, "My dear, you have so much to learn."

Mileena eagerly gazed at her. "Then teach me!"

"Teach you?"

Mileena got closer to her with anxious eyes. "I want to learn your ways."

"You wish to be my apprentice?"

"Yes."

Zareta grinned and said, "Well, if you're determined to become my apprentice, I only have one condition."

Mileena nodded and eagerly waited for her next response.

Zareta then placed her hand on Mileena's abdomen. "I want to be your son's grandmother!"

Mileena was taken aback and excitedly asked, "Really?"

"I've never had children of my own, and I think of you as the daughter I never had."

Wow! Kitana was right!

"Yes." Mileena grasped Zareta's hands. "You can be his grandmother!"

What do you think of Mileena's ending on MK11?

I personally think it's a rather sad ending. Mileena just wants to be loved and appreciated. I prefer Kitana's ending on MK9!

At least now I can give her a better ending!
