Chapter 2

Kagome let out a sigh and rested her elbow on her knee, she then placed her chin in the palm of her hand. She was sitting on a rock at the edge of the forest clearing where her group hand set up camp. She drummed her fingers against her upper lip as she mused over the days events. Over the girl who had been with Sesshoumaru, whom had been happy to chase after him. She let out another sigh. 'Who was that girl? She seemed to really like Sesshoumaru.' She thought as she looked up to the night sky.

Inuyasha was sitting in a tree, the tree was between the camp and Kagome. He stared daggers into said girl's head while he thought over their earlier excitement. His expression darkened, when he thought about his brother. What was going on with Kagome? Why had the wench found his brother attractive- okay even he would admit that the asshole wasn't terrible looking, but Kagome had never reacted that way to him before, so why now?

'What the fuck is wrong with the wench?!' he snarled, startling those in the camp behind him. He ignored the others and continued to watch Kagome, eventually his face relaxed and became pensive, as though he were pondering great universal mysteries- which given the idea of Kagome finding Sesshoumaru attractive, he may as well have been- and the others who were watching him felt a little uncomfortable with his current disposition, thinking was something that he never did.

Shippo, who was asleep in Kagome's sleeping bag, twitched and let out a low snore. Not far away from him, by the fire was the rest of their group, Miroku and Sango- who had Kirara curled in her lap. Miroku looked over at Inuyasha and studied the half demon, something was bothering him. What it was he did not know, and Inuyasha had not been forthcoming with the information, said half-demon fleeing up his tree sulkily the moment they had made camp.

'Perhaps he and Kagome had a fight?' he glanced over to Kagome, it was possible that the pair had fought, especially with they way that the pair had both gone to their respective 'spots'. Miroku resisted the urge to sigh- what was it about this time?

Sango, under the guise of petting Kirara, was having very similar thoughts to the monk across from her. Had the two fought again? Kagome had been acting strangely since coming back and Inuyasha had spent the last few hours sending her glares- which was a pretty good indicator that they had fought, but why? Her eyes slid to Kagome who was still staring off at the distance. 'What happened to her? What happened to put such a strange expression in her eyes?' she thought as she turned to Miroku.

"Umm, Miroku?" she whispered as she put Kirara by the fire and pulled herself up to stand. She stepped to him and sat beside him.

"Yes, Sango, My Dear?" he turned to her with a smile. Unknown to her his 'cursed hand' twitched and began to inch towards it's destination: her rear.

She sent him a brief look before looking back at Kagome who was running her fingers through her hair almost dreamily. "Is it just me, or is Kagome acting kind of weird?" She folded her arms in her lap and drummed her foot against the ground. She remained oblivious to the hand inching closer to her.

Miroku's eyes glittered and his lips curled into a smile. "Sango my dear, she obviously has something on her mind, be it to do with Inuyasha or something else- I would wager Inuyasha though, due to his scowling." eh let out a laugh as Inuyasha's ears twitched and the half-demon let out a grumble. "She just needs time, time to think it through." He finished his explanation with his hand rubbing up and down her rear.

"HENTAI!" Sango's voice echoed through the forest along with a loud slapping sound.

Shippo remained asleep in Kagome's sleeping bag, he didn't even stir- this being such a common occurance that it would never wake him. Kagome, who was also used to the occurrence, was too deep in thought to pay it any real attention to it. Inuyasha smirked lightly before his face returned to a scowl and he shook his head. Kirara jumped, her eyes shot to Miroku and she sent him the cat equivalent of a glare before curling back up by the fire. Sango glared at the monk while Miroku rubbed his reddened cheek, a chuckle escaping his lips.

"It was worth it..." and then he collapsed, unconscious.

Sango hufffed and knelt down to pet Kirara- how dare he!? She had been trying to have a serious discussion with him and he just couldn't keep his hand to himself for five minutes!? Kirara let out a sound as her petting became harsh. Sango jumped and muttered an apology, she resumed her gentle petting for a few more moments. As time passed she felt guilt trickle at the back of her mind, she had hit him pretty hard. She scooted over and gently lifted his head into her lap. She brushed his hair out of his face and smiled gently down at him.

Kagome, who looked back and had caught sight of the two, smiled gently. 'They are so sweet,' she thought as she pushed her hair behind her ear. 'I wish that they would just admit how they feel for each other,' her smiled turned into a frown. 'I wish that I had someone...' she glanced up at Inuyasha, then inwardly shook her head and looked away. No, no Inuyasha was not right, not anymore.

She turned her gaze to the sky, her eyes drawn to the crescent moon in the sky. The moon reminded her of him. She wondered how or when trickles of feelings for him had started. Memories flashed behind her eyes, him sparing Inuyasha's life, the way he had spared Kohaku tonight, or had it been when the tenseiga had saved his life- had chosen to save him.

She could still remember the jolt of panic that had struck her when the wind scar had hit him, she, for a brief moment, had been frightened for him- he had been such a force, such a constant(and frustration), that the idea of him dying was unbelievable. But then Totosai had told them that the tenseiga had saved him, she had felt an intense sense of relief- a sword of life had chosen to save him, he couldn't be as bad as he seemed, there had to be something more to him.

Flashes of the panther tribe came to her mind. She remembered being kidnapped and how excited she had been when she had been saved and she heard Sango and Miroku mention him and his work against the panther tribe. She was glad that the others had not noticed her reaction, lest she suffer endless teasing- however, she could remember Miroku sending her a grin, so perhaps he had noticed something?

She reached up to play with her hair as she thought about her last encounter with him. Luckily they had found him before he killed Kohaku. She had checked the girl- Rin -she mentally reminded herself. She had been relieved when she had found that Rin was only unconscious and that there was no reason to kill the boy. She wasn't sure, but she was certain that there had been a glimmer of gratitude in his amber depths when she had checked on the girls well being.

Her lips curled into a smile. Then he had let Kohaku go, in that moment she knew. She knew that he was not as bad, as evil, as he was given credit for. She had tried to convey her gratitude to him with the most beautiful smile that she could give him. When he had responded to her there had been something in his eyes, something that seemed to pierce her very soul- she flushed as she remembered the way her body had responded to the look.

With a shake of her head she pulled herself up from the rock. She glanced over at her bedroll and entertained the thought of going to bed, but she quickly shut it down, there was no point, if she tried to sleep now she would just stay awake and be left to her thoughts. She looked over at the surrounding forest, perhaps she could go for a walk? She tilted her head and thought over the option, walking seemed like a nice idea... she nodded her head, she would go for a walk! She began trekking out of the camp.

"Oi!" Inuyasha called out to her as he jumped from the tree. "Where do you think you're going, Wench?" he crossed his arms and moved in front of her, blocking her path.

She smiled innocently and crossed her arms with a tilt of the head. "I'm going for a walk Inuyasha," she stepped to her side and moved to pass him. "I wont be very far," she started walking away from him. "if something happens, you'll hear me scream."

He spluttered and let out a curse under his breath. "Are you stupid, Wench!?" he turned to her in a rage. "What if Narku appears?" he waved an arm in rage, to emphasise his words. "Are you seriously that stupid? You silly cow-"

"Sit!"

The rosary flared pink and Inuyasha let out a strangled sound before he was forced to the ground. The loud sound waking Shippo, who sat up and looked back at the pair. He shook his head with an eye roll before lying back down with a chuckle. Kirara lifted her head briefly, but the sight was so familiar that she lost interest and swiftly went back to sleep. Sango shook her head and continued to stroke the sleeping Miroku's hair. Kagome took this moment as her chance to walk away from the camp. She heard Inuyasha let out a groan, but did not look back to see him lift his head from the ground.

"W-Wench!" he called out to her. "I told ya not to go!

"Inuyasha." Sango said, annoyed. "She wants to be alone, give her time."

He let out a sound of frustration and pulled himself up from the ground. He sent Sango a scathing glare before jumping back into his tree. He crossed his arms and sulked, grumbling to himself about 'stupid wenches'- well if something happened to her, he wasn't going to save her. He huffed, no she could save herself.

X

Tiana gripped a low branch of the tree beside her, a growl escaped her lips. "One of these days I am going to kill Inuyasha." even though she was some distance away, she could still see into the camp with ease, her eyes locked onto the half demon sitting in the tree. Her claws clenched the branch tighter and her aura flared as the sight of him, she wanted nothing more than to leap into the camp and plunge her claws into his flesh. She let out another growl which was cut of as she felt a cool hand touch her back. She let out a shuddering breath and leaned into the touch. How he was able to calm her, make her feel safe, when he caused so much destruction and devastation to others.

"How come you relax me, but hurt so many others?" she turned to him with a raised brow as she voiced her thoughts.

"We are similar." he replied simply.

'Not very informative, are we?' she thought wyrly before smiling as she was struck with an idea. Kagome had left the camp. Kagome was on her own. Kagome was on her own and Sesshoumaru had made camp not far from where they were. She strengthened the concealment spell on herself and locked eyes with Naraku, her lips curled into a smile and he returned it with a smirk.

"Change into Inuyasha's Kikyo." Tiana requested as she crossed her arms and leaned to the side with her hip out.

His eyebrow quirked at her suggestion, just what ideas did she have swimming through her mind? He clicked his finger and thumb and was engulfed in a dark mist. It curled around him from the top of his head to his toes, energy crackled from the mist light static, then in an instant it was gone, as though it had never been there and in his place stood Kikyo. She crossed her arms and looked at Tiana with a grin, wagging his eyebrows at her.

Tiana sneered at the form before her, an icy chill ran down her spine. "You look sickening like that..." she spat.

He let out a displeased grunt and turned his head to the direction where he could smell Kagome, she was definitely alone. Knowing that he had to leave momentarily, he looked back at Tiana and smiled at her, his dark eyes- Kikyo's eyes- smouldered through long lashes. She noticed his leering and her eyes flashed with confusion, causing his smile to turn feral. He reached out and grasped her hips. He drew her close and rested his nose against hers, his hot breath fanned over her skin, causing delicious chills down her spine.

"N-Naraku?" she let out a shaky breath, her eyes slipping shut.

He let out a 'shh' and brushed his lips against her cheek, trailing his hot lips across her flesh he slid down to her neck, causing her to let out a shaky breath and tilt her head to him, an unconscious action which sent a bolt of heat straight to his groin. His currently dull teeth scraped against her neck, sliding down to the crook her her neck, a voice, no not a voice, something in the back of his mind screamed at him to sink his fangs into the spot, to feel her blood flow down his throat. She was his, his hands slid up, one entangling in her hair and the other clutching at her back, pulling her flush against him.

"Naraku..." she whimpered, her hands clutched at his front, holding the female body to her. She felt dull teeth work the skin of neck causing her to practically melt into goo. She clutched harder at him, she wanted to continue, she never wanted him to stop. Her rational side, however, nagged at her. They had a job to do, they were in the middle of a forest where they could be discovered, and if those weren't enough reasons; Naraku was currently in Kikyo's form. "No..." when he did not stop she pushed at him with her strength. "I'm sorry, but we can't!"

His eyes flashed and he sent her a soft glare. "Why?" he asked.

She blanched, taken aback. The way his was looking at her and his words had caught her off guard, the feeling did not last long, however as defensiveness flared within her. What kind of woman did he think her to be? To just have sex in the middle of the forest for the sake of it? She was not that kind of person, an no matter how he pushed, no matter how her body may have wanted it, she was not about to lower herself to that. She frowned sadly at him.

He caught the spike of angst and sorrow in her aura. Why was she upset? What had happened to make her feel that way? From what he understood, they were both willing participants in what had just happened, so what had he done to make her upset? He frowned, he knew that she was a virgin- his eyes widened, perhaps that was it? Perhaps she felt that this was too much? Or that he was using her? He tilted his head thoughtfully. It was possible.

"Shall we start our mission?" he prompted, trying to ignore a feeling that was gnawing at the back of his mind. Guilt. He was feeling guilty.

That seemed to jolt her from her thoughts. She nodded and gestured for him to follow her into the forest. "Come, I'll tell you my plan while we walk."

Naraku nodded an trailed behind her, his eyes fixated on her back and his senses nagging at him to do something about the melancholy radiating from her. He let out a sigh through his nostrils. "For what it is worth," he began. "I do not see you as an easy female." his voice was soft, so that only she could hear it.

She stilled, her heart drummed in her chest, a beautiful smile forming on her face. Had he just said that? She turned to him warmly. "Thank you..." she stepped to him and gave him a brief kiss on the cheek before chuckling. "Quickly, let's go." another quick kiss before she turned and sped off towards Kagome.

He froze, his eyes wide. He started at her retreating back and slowly reached to his cheek which was still warm from her touch. The corner of his lips tugged upwards and he started walking again, his feet light and full of an energy that had not been there before. His smile became a smirk, it would not be long now, soon enough she would be his. Inuyasha was going to suffer and they would bring it to him together.

X

Kagome sat on a rock that she had found while on her walk. The rock was in the middle of a small wildflower clearing. Kagome, having loved the sight of the flowers, had picked some and had gone to work making a flower hair wreath. She let out a hum and added another flower and smiled at her work, Shippo would love this. The moonlight hit the flowers, casting them in a silver glow- were she able to look at herself she would notice that she herself was bathed in the silver light, illuminated like a celistial being.

'I wonder if Inuyasha has noticed my feelings?' she thought looking up at the sky. 'or even the others?' she shook her head, from what she could tell, the other's had not caught on, Inuyasha however, was a different story, especially with the way he had reacted at dinner that evening.

X Flashback X

Kagome shuffled around the camp, passing out bowls of ramen to her companions. Well her companions, excluding Inuyasha. Said half-demon had stalked up into his tree the moment that they had picked a place to camp. He had said nothing to them, with the exclusion of occasional growls, and had made no effort to help them set up camp. Miroku had moved to say something to him at one point, but had been quickly growled away. From then on he continued glaring at Kagome and the others made no effort to communicate with him.

Kagome clutched his bowl tightly and looked up at the half-demon in the tree wearily. She knew that he was hungry, and that being hungry could be one of the main reason's for his behaviour. However, she had a feeling that his anger came less from hunger and more from what had happened with Sesshoumaru earlier. She sucked in a breath for courage and stepped slowly to the tree.

"Inuyasha?" she caught his attention, though she hadn't needed to, he had watched her walk up to him. She smiled up at him and held the bowl out. "Your dinner?"

He grunted and jumped down from the tree, making Kagome step back to give him room. She opened her mouth to say something, only to slam it shut as he snatched the bowl from her and jumped back up to his spot. She gaped at his actions and stood in stunned silence briefly before glaring up at him. "A 'thank you' would be nice!' she put her hands on her hip and started back to the others.

"Feh," she heard him grumble under his breath. "stupid wench."

"Sit!"

x End Flashback x

She sighed and added another flower to her wreath. After that he had not stopped his little tantrum, had not stopped growling. In fact, she was sure that he was still growling now, even though she wasn't even there. She reached down to pick up another flower. She wondered if it was time for her to go home, just for a little while, give them both some space. It wouldn't be the first time that she had gone home to give them some cool off time. She froze as the air around her suddenly took on an icy chill, she was no longer alone, someone was there.

"Why are you not with Inuyasha?" the voice hissed.

Kagome resisted the urge to jump and turned to the voice. She tensed as she realised who was standing at the edge of the clearing. It was Kikyo. However something was wrong, if Kikyo was there, why had Inuyasha not sensed her? She locked eyes with the elder priestess and resisted the urge to shiver, something was wrong, was dark about her eyes.

"Kikyo, I'm..." fiddled with the flowers in her lap. "I'm going for a walk... Inuyasha is not far.."

Something in her dark eyes flashed. "Ah, but it is you who I had business with." she said simply.

Kagome scanned the other woman, unable to shake the strange feeling that she reading from the other. Something about her felt wrong. Kikyo's aura felt different, darker, for starters. Not only that, she was unable to see any of her Shinidamachu that usually followed her, and, if that wasn't enough. Kagome couldn't feel the piece of her soul, she was always able to feel the piece calling to her and the fact that she couldn't was adding to her worry. What was going on?

"What do you want?" she asked, somehow managing to sound calm, even if internally she struggled, especially with the way Kikyo's face seemed to become more darker and twisted by the second.

Kikyo swiftly reached for her bow and aimed it directly at Kagome's heart. "I have come for my soul!" she hissed, letting the arrow fly.

Gasping, Kagome barely made it out of the arrows way. She reached for her own bow, and panic hit her as she realised that she had not taken it with her. She opened her mouth to call for Inuyasha, before she stopped, she couldn't make Inuyasha fight the woman he loved. So she ran. She ran from the clearing. Ran further away from the safety of her friends. Unfortunately her running did not deter Kikyo, the woman continued to follow her, firing arrow after arrow.

"Kikyo," Kagome called out as she jumped over a tree root. "please don't!"

A chuckle was her only response.

Another arrow shot past her head. 'Where is the purifying magic?' she thought briefly before crying out as another arrow shot past her, this one nearly striking her ear.

X

At a camp, by the edge of the forest, Sesshoumaru and his group were settled for the evening. Sesshoumaru leaned against a tree, is eyes scanning the sky while he listened to the sounds of the forest and occasionally scanned his resting group. His eyes softened when he looked down at Rin, who was curled by Ah-Un in front of the fire. When he looked at Jaken, he was amused to see the green demon trapped in a nightmare, and would call out things like; 'please don't smile my Lord', and 'beat me, kill me! Anything but smile!'

He raised his knee and rested his arm on it. He glanced into the forest as he heard a sound. His eyes narrowed and he tilted his head to listen. Then he heard it again, a cry of pain. His nose twitched, the cries were accompanied with the scent of blood.

'Blood.' he pulled himself up to stand, his movements waking the sleeping dragon. He knew the scent of the blood. It was the woman who followed Inuyasha, the woman he had seen only some hours ago. His amber eyes shifted to the dragon, whose heads were raised to him.

"Watch Rin." he said simply.

Twin sets of eyes flashed in acknowledgement. Sesshoumaru accepted this with a brief nod before flash stepping away from the camp.

X

Kagome fell to the ground as she slipped on a rock. "Kikyo, stop, please!" she called back as she tried to pull herself up. She let out a scream of pain as something pierced her leg. Looking back she saw the arrow lodged in her leg. Whimpering she fell to her side and tried to drag herself away, she let out another scream as another arrow struck her other leg.

Kikyo smirked and readied her bow. She stepped towards the girl on the ground, her smile widening as the younger girl scrambled to get away from her. She readied the bow and aimed it at the girl's head.

Kagome closed her eyes. "Please..." she sobbed, her body shaking. She awaited the final blow.

When the final blow never came, she opened her eyes and gasped at the sight before her. Sesshouaru, stood not two feet before her, held Kikyo up by her throat. A quick glance to the ground revealed the bow, or what was left of it, melting, he had burned it with his acid. She glanced back up at him and saw him clutch tightly around the other's neck.

"Sesshoumaru?" she tried to pull herself up to stand, only to cry out in pain and collapse again.

Sesshoumaru did not respond to her words. He instead kept his grip on Kikyo who was struggling in his grasp. Her arms tugging at his, and her legs kicking in an attempt to escape his grasp. Only this did not faze the demon and he only tightened his grip in response.

Kagome, though glad for his help, was struck with worry as she realised that he was going to kill Kikyo. She knew that she shouldn't be worried, that Kikyo had just been trying to kill her, along with all of the other times that she had tried to kill her. But she could not do that to Inuyasha, she knew how much her friend cared for the elder priestess. In truth she felt sorry for Kikyo and knew that her actions came from her own depression over what had happened to her. If Kikyo died here, it would hurt Inuyasha, even if the woman had hurt her, Inuyasha did not deserve for Kikyo to die before they could resolve their problems.

"Please," she called out, trying to find the right words. "Sesshoumaru, please don't kill her!"

He let out a low growl, his head turned and their eyes locked, her next words died on her lips at the intensity in his gaze. Kikyo smirked, as well as one can smirk with a demon's claw around their throat. She reached up and touched his hand, dark purple energy crackled from her hands and burnt his, causing him to loosen his grip, not by much, but enough. With a laugh, Kikyo jumped free and fled into the forest.

Sesshoumaru let out a dark growl and moved to pursue her, he paused, however, when he heard Kagome let out a pained cry. He turned back to see her attempting to remove one of the arrows from her leg. He stepped towards her, causing her to look up, her blue tearful eyes locking with his amber ones.

X

Tiana pocked her head out from some bushes that were not to far from Inuyasha's camp. She saw the half-demon brooding from his spot on the tree and smirked. Resisting the urge to crack her fingers she instead chose to let out a breath of laughter. 'It's time for me to do my work.'

x

'Where the fuck is Kagome!?' Inuyasha thought to himself with a growl. He could still remember the faint scent of arousal he had smelled when they had seen Sesshoumaru earlier. Why had she felt that? His brother was a bastard who did not deserve anything from anyone, especially any affection from Kagome. He was an ass and she had no business- he paused his internal aggression as he was suddenly struck with the urge to sleep. He blinked and rubbed at his eyes, when the urge grew stronger he tried again, and again, and again, until it became too much and he succumbed.

'Kagome...' was his last conscious thought.

X Inuyasha's dream x

Inuyasha stepped from Kaede's hut with a bright smile on his face. He was in one of the best moods he had ever been in, the reason? They had finally completed the Shikon jewel, that alone was worthy of putting himself in such a mood. Then there was the fact that they had barely broken a sweat in defeating Naraku, which was even better to him.

He stepped away from the hut and began to look around the village for Kagome. He found Shippo, showing Kaede his spin tops and Kirara chasing after them. As he continued further through the village he saw Miroku finally proposing to Sango, he grinned, he was so glad for it, they really deserved to be happy together.

He fiddled with the gem in his hands and continued on, while he moved through the village he passed Koga confessing his love for another wolf demon, Ayame, his mind supplied, who is Ayame? Next he walked past Kohaku, who was sitting under a tree with Kagura and Kanna, the three of them having finally achieved their freedom.

When he came to Kikyo playing with the village children, a smile on her face, he had to stop to watch. She looked so lovely, bathed in the light. The children shrieked with laughter as she chased them, and he too, found himself laughing with them.

After some time he remembered Kagome and continued his search. He chuckled as he saw Myoga get slapped for sucking their blood. He stopped laughing, however as he caught sight of Sesshoumaru's dragon, Ah-Un, watching Rin who was decorating Jaken with flowers. His blood ran cold, if they were there, then it meant that Sesshoumaru was there as well.

Paniked, he ran frantically through the village, searching for Kagome, or Sesshoumaru, he ran for what felt like hours, the village seemingly growing as he ran through it. Then he stopped as he heard it, a sound. A sound that caused his heart to pulse.

It was a moan.

He turned frantically to find the source of the sound, when he heard it again he charged in the direction that he had heard it from. He ran through the forest, his feet burning with each step, he ran faster, and faster, until he came to a halt. His heart stopping at the sight before him.

I was Kagome. His Kagome. His Kagome, with Sesshoumaru, the both of them naked and his brother thrusting into her at demonic speed. Kagome threw her head back in a long moan. Inuyasha felt his eyes bleed red at the sight, his demonic aura pulsed and his claws cracked. The pair, oblivious to him, continued their passions.

"Kagome!" he screamed, charging forward, swiping his claws at them.

X

"Kagome," Inuyasha cried as he jolted awake. "No!" he looked around him frantically, looking for her blood. He blinked as he realised that there was none. He let out a shaky breath and wiped the sweat from his face. It had been a dream. He wiped his face again as he continued to sweat.

"Fuck..." he shook his head and looked down at his sweaty hands. The dream had been so vivid, so real- well except for Sango and Miroku, they weren't getting married anytime. Ever. Then again... the idea of Sesshoumaru and Kagome being together should have been insane, but as he remembered the smell that he had caught from her, panic struck him. He could not get the image of the pair out of his mind. His dream had been so clear, he had seen them embracing so clearly.

Sesshoumaru, Kagome. Sesshoumaru, Kagome. Sesshoumaru and Kagome.

Inuyasha let out a roar and leapt from the tree, landing on the ground with a bag. He punched the tree to relieve his stress, it helped, but not by much. He stormed over to the rock where Kagome had been sitting he glared at the offending item and for reasons he did not know, perhaps to spite her, he lifted the rock. The rock turned out to be buried deep in the ground and was, in fact, a boulder. He gripped the boulder tightly and let out another roar, waking the members of the group. He lifted the boulder high and with a cry, he threw it into the forest. A loud bang causing birds to disburse from the trees as it landed.

"Ouch!" a voice screamed. "What the fuck was that for half-breed!?

X

Kagome stared at Sesshoumaru, who stared back. Their eyes remained locked as she tried to move again. She flinched and let out a sound of pain. His eyes moved from hers and to her wounds. She watched as his eyes scanned her legs, her eyes widened as she saw something flash in his eyes, was he concerned about her? She couldn't be sure, but she was pretty sure that he was.

She hissed in pain as he legs throbbed and she looked down at the wounds. She breathed through her teeth and reached down to touch her leg. She jumped as his hand brushed hers out of the way. She looked up and nearly jumped as she saw him kneeling beside her.

"Why are you not with Inuyasha?" he asked, as he scanned over her wounds.

Kagome flinched at his voice. There was something, angry, about his tone. She had used Sesshoumaru use similar tones before and had always felt uneasy whenever he had used it. He sounded as though he wanted to hurt something, she only hoped that it wasn't her. He gently pushed against her hip, and helped her to lie on her side, her new position giving him access to the arrows sticking out of her legs.

"Inuyasha," she licked her dry lips. "he's a-at our camp..." she shivered as his cool fingers brushed against the skin of her leg. "I went for a walk, I wanted to be alone... then Kikyo found me and..." she gestured at her legs helplessly.

He gave her a curt nod and gripped one of the arrows. "I am going to pull them out." his voice was soft, gentler, than she had heard from him before, it was soothing, relaxing to her. When she nodded and clutched her hands together he gripped the arrow tight and pulled it out.

She let out a scream, it hurt! He did not give her time to prepare for the next one. She whimpered as he gripped the next one and pulled. She screamed. Her legs felt like they were on fire, they burned. Her eyes began to roll as the world around her started to spin. She let out a groan and barely registered as she collapsed onto something warm.

The last thing she saw before passing out was a pair of amber eyes.
