Here is the next chapter. I hope you like it. In this chapter just imagine that Hagrid speaks in his usual way if you can I found that I couldn't write it that way which is why it looks normal. Please read and review thanks love Hermione xxx
Caring for creatures was a mess. Hagrid was blubbering about the fact that he couldn't show them whatever animal he'd had planned as the dark forest had somehow lightened up and all the interesting creatures were gone. This did of course mean the dangerous creatures which Harry was not happy about as Hagrid failed completely to see why that would have been a good thing at all. It was like he was intent on being a buffoon or idiot all the time and Harry was frankly sick of it. Where in the hell was Hermione? It was never like her to skive off on a lesson much less twice in the space of a week but then again maybe she was in trouble or something. It wouldn't be the first time. I mean she'd missed yesterday's lesson as well. Never the less she turned up just a bit late and Hagrid was so angry and upset that he didn't even reprimand her although he did definitely notice.
He brought out a cage looking as though it was the last thing he actually wanted to do. Inside it contained a magical Ashwinder who looked surprisingly annoyed to be in the cage at all. It looked to Hagrid as though he was mental. "This here in an Ashwinder made of magical fire. Currently I have him in a cage but I will transfer him to a warm and different home in a moment. As Harry here is our resident Parseltongue I thought we might ask him to speak to the snake for us and see if the little blighter has anything to say to us?" he asked as Harry rolled his eyes.
"Well I don't need to talk to him because he has been talking to me all throughout your description of him. He says he hates the cage and large imbecile who put him in there. To be honest sir he's a bit annoying. He hasn't stopped whining since you brought him in. It's rather ridiculous!" Harry said in disgust as Hermione looked at him sideways in fury.
"And how the hell are we to know you're telling the truth huh? He could be saying anything at all and we'd be forced to believe that!" she shouted as Hagrid looked stunned.
"Now there'll be none of that. Harry stay behind and see me after class. Hermione you should know to speak better with your friends. You are not being a very good friend now are you? I'll have to be taking ten points from Gryffindor because of your outburst. Anyhow follow me over here to this work station. Ok now then you need to get your own snakes out of the cages and put them into their own firepot and light it on fire to keep them warm. When you are done you can feed them a mouse from the big box here on your left!" he instructed as everyone got to work. Actually it was a peaceful lesson. Although Harry was annoyed that he had to listen to every problem each snake had. At the end of the lesson he stayed behind while Draco went on ahead telling him he'd keep him a seat in the library as they didn't have their next class for another hour. He entered Hagrid's hut and sat down. He was however stunned when Hagrid turned to him with a pained expression on his face. He seemed to be struggling greatly with something internally and it was messing with him greatly.
"Well then I must ask you why you did it. Why did you marry Malfoy? Was it because of Hermione? I know she's not the prettiest but I would have thought you could have found yourself a pretty girl. I mean it didn't have to be Hermione you know but did it truly have to be Malfoy? I don't like him Harry. His father is shady!" he said looking as though he might vomit.
"Hagrid he is not a Malfoy anymore but a Warrens and I am his husband. Someone fed us potions making us hate one another and it was awful. We know his father is vile and this is why we don't associate with him any longer" he responded feeling oddly calm.
"Yes but it's strange. Your father wasn't like that. Did you like me? Did you look at me and fancy me or something? I'm sorry Harry that's just not professional!" Hagrid said looking highly freaked out as Harry exhaled loudly his anger now evident.
"I may be gay and that may mean I like men but I don't like all men and would never like you in that way. You are my teacher and a friend but I would never like you in that way because as you say yourself it would not be professional" he responded as Hagrid looked immediately relieved and then a bit sad again.
"But Harry all the girls. All the crying girls I'd wager. How could you leave all of them with broken hearts? You know you won't hear the end of this! They'll need a hero to love and Professor Dumbledore says that hero must be you. He's a wonderful man is Dumbledore. You know if you speak to him he could get all this gay nonsense straightened out. I will always be your friend of course but it's not right. You're going to let the Potter surname die out! Your father intrusted me to care for you while you were at school and now you are gay and I cannot care for you like that" he said crying big fat tears of disappointment. It would appear that because Harry was not whatever James would want for him he was automatically a failure in Hagrid's eyes.
"Hagrid James was a dick. I'm sorry but he was. Lilly my mother was always very open minded. She would have accepted me as I was with no questions asked. She was not vile like James!" he said suddenly very angry.
"Yes but like you she was different too. She didn't know the old pureblood ways in the way that James and I did. I knew of it only because Albus Dumbledore taught me about it. I thought to ask him and he explained it to me. Why did you not do as your father would have wanted? Now house Potter will die out and I am letting him down!" he cried out sobbing into his hands.
"Hagrid house Potter will never die out. I will have children in the future and insure that it doesn't. Believe it or not I don't want it to die out either. I am just gay as well!" he said as Hagrid swiped angrily at his tears.
"Why are you gay though? I mean why do women repulse you so much? Why is nothing with you ever normal? Oh Harry you don't half cause me anxiety. Professor Dumbledore has asked me to make sure you come back to the light side and I intend to make sure I succeed!" he said definitely and very sure of himself indeed.
"Hagrid I love my husband very much but I'm just as light as I always was!" Harry snapped feeling irritated.
"VOLDE…WELL THE DARK LORD WILL NOT WIN. MARK MY WORDS POTTER!" he snapped practically throwing Harry from his house in rage. Harry landed on his arm and felt it snap as he called out in agony. He was brought with Libby to the hospital wing where Madam Pomfrey heard all of what Hagrid had done to him and was stunned.
"Yes well Hagrid is not above a hiding himself. I cannot believe it but you have said it so I do. May I have permission to remove and view a memory of what happened in my pensive please?" she asked as he consented. She took the memory and watched it emerging moments later furious.
"You know I always did say James had an unhealthy obsession with gay people and how nasty he thought it was that they were gay. I even thought he might be gay himself once because he protested so much but he wasn't he was just highly judgemental. I am sorry but I have a duty to tell headmaster Dumbledore about this!" she said summoning Albus to her office who arrived moments later in the floo. He dusted himself off and turned to speak to Harry when she called him over.
"No Albus over here and look inside that pensive before you speak!" she ordered seriously and so seriously at that, that he feared the worst. He emerged moments later and looked furious.
"Mr Potter I truly must ask why you must always make things so difficult for me? Now I may have to find a new teacher for his course and at such short notice too. He is not right and I shall be telling him so. James' views were not always good and I don't like to say bad things about a pureblood wizard but they weren't. Ten points from Ravenclaw for causing a disturbance for me! Now I'll actually have to deal with Hagrid" he snapped as he left feeling furious indeed and left Harry reeling slightly. Of course he would. Hagrid was a member of staff after all and so he would of course have to deal with his member of staff.
Soon enough his arm had reset and he joined Draco in the library with fifteen minutes to spare. When he told Draco everything which had happened he was furious but they vowed to get Hagrid back later on. Just because he was not happy about Harry's choice did not mean that he got to be vile and abusive because of it. He did hope Dumbledore would do something about it but was pretty sure nothing would happen as per usual. Hagrid trusted Dumbledore so much so that he would get off Scott free if Dumbledore could help it. He valued having a foolish minion like Hagrid as it meant he could make him believe whatever he wanted to and get him to do anything if he said enough times that it was for the greater good or something. He'd get Hagrid to apologise to Harry's face while scheming behind his back the whole time. With that apology out in the open nothing truly bad could happen to Hagrid. Hermione however had been spying on them and hadn't heard anything Hagrid had actually said but did see him break Harry's arm and sobbed to herself about it.
What was she to do now? She had witnessed an actual teacher being bad to a student and couldn't truly believe it. I mean weren't all teachers supposed to be good? Wasn't Hagrid meant to be kind? Why had he done it? No this wasn't natural at all. Harry must have done something to warrant that treatment surely. Yes his very gay marriage had warped his mind and he was constantly defying teachers now. If she told herself he'd been a bad boy it was easier to take and far easier to take then a teacher ever being in the wrong. Hagrid was a bit silly but he was an adult and like all adults could do no true wrong in her eyes. She would never be able to see that some adults could and indeed did do wrong often. Even where Lockhart had been concerned she'd merely thought his fame had gone to his head and he had behaved a bit silly nothing more and nothing less. She didn't think he was particularly clever in how he'd handled his fame and all that but would not see him as having done anything wrong ever. Besides which she hadn't been there and had only Harry and Ron's words for it. Ron was too dreamy to be wrong but he hadn't truly mattered in this situation Harry had and Harry had been liar. There was no way someone that handsome with a smile that beautiful could ever have been evil. She refused point blank to see it. Hagrid was not evil either.
They went towards their DADA class Hermione feeling very excited for her next class. Hopefully Harry wouldn't fuck this up either.
"No not there. Everyone please follow me. That classroom is cursed and I refuse to hold my classes in there until such time as it's been cleansed by some warders and so on. Follow please. Everyone in there please!" she instructed as they entered the classroom and sat down this would be interesting indeed.
