Cool Kid Saves the Cats

Chapter 27: M'Andrew Part 3

Without hesitation, Cool Kid pulls the triggers of his pistols relentlessly. A hoard of bullets come screaming from the barrel of his guns. At first, M'Andrew is thrown aback.

How could he possibly fire bullets that fast!? He thinks to himself. But after only a few milliseconds, he regains his composure. There were too many bullets flying at him to count them all, but he's able to detect the pattern they're flying in. Within this pattern, there were four outliers; four bullets that were straying from the path the rest of the bullets. He wouldn't be able to dodge all of the bullets, but he could work with those four.

With the bullets only less than two feet from his face, he jumps in the direction of the four outliers. Luckily, their trajectory had shifted a little, the closest one to the group was straying from both groups, while the other three were now far enough away that they were essentially their own group. Just as he predicted. With finesse, he places the very tip of his boot on the one stray bullet. He uses the weight of the bullet to give himself extra momentum in his jump. He's on the bullet for what scientists would describe as a nanosecond, not enough time for the bullet to penetrate his shoe. Instead, the bullet flies in the opposite direction if him, towards the rest of the bullets.

There were still three other bullets he had to deal with, they were all flying straight towards him. With a smirk, he pulls out his scarf to capture the bullets once again. However, me had miscalculated. He captures two of the bullets with ease; their force stopped in an instant thanks to the strength of the scarf. But one bullet went lower than he was calculating. Much lower. The bullet pierces his boot, and flies straight into his foot. Luckily, it didn't strike into any bones, as it immediately flew out through the other side, onto the ground.

He lands on the floor, and completely ignores his injured foot. He pulls out his needle-dagger from his pocket and turns around, ready for a counter attack.

I couldn't count how many bullets he fired, but he undoubtedly used up both his magazines! Now I just gotta wait until he reloads and then- He looks over at Cool Kid, and sees two empty clips on the ground, and the guns pointed at him once again. WHAT!? How did he reload that quickly!? I knew he was impressive but...this is inhuman! This is just-

"I gotta say, I was surprised." M'Andrew looks up as Cool Kid talks with a smile. "I didn't even know it was possible to jump off a bullet like that. Kudos to you." He smirks and winks under his sunglasses.

What is he planning… M'Andrew thinks to himself.

"Don't worry though, you won't be able to escape this one!" Right on the last syllable of that sentence, he begins pulling the triggers once again. This time, even faster than before. M'Andrew grimaces, knowing he can't just dodge them again like last time. His foot was already injured, and jumping again could put him at risk. Plus, he greatly underestimated his opponent. This speed he possessed, it was never in the reports Butch gave him.

But he didn't have time to think about that. He only had a few seconds before the rain of bullets came hailing down on him. He decided that, since he couldn't jump again, and he couldn't run for multiple reasons, the best choice was to go straight in to attack. He pulled out the scarf in its entirety, and placed it over his body. The scarf it decently thick, so it was able to cover his head, torso, and crotch. However, it left his limbs out in the open. It wasn't ideal, but it was the best he could come up with in the moment.

Without thinking, he charged straight at Cool Kid as fast as he could. Most of the bullets hit the scarf, as he predicted, leaving him unharmed. However, several bullets violently struck his limbs. His arms and legs were covered in blood, several bullet wounds decorated his limbs; yet he persisted towards Cool Kid. He couldn't see since the scarf was covering his face, but he could still feel and hear Cool Kid. He kept running until he heard the sound he was hoping for.

Click

He knew instantly that Cool Kid just reloaded his pistols. No was his chance. He grabs the top of the scarf and throws it into the air as fast as he could. As predicted, Cool Kid was thrown off by this. With Cool Kid confused, M'Andrew, still in a sprint, slid down to this knees. Thanks to the speed, he built up he was able to pass right in between Cool Kid's legs with ease. While between them, he pulls out his needle-knife, and slices both of his thighs. Surprisingly, the knife's incision results in incredible pain for Cool Kid. He falls to his knees in pain. As he falls, M'Andrew stands, now as the dominant in this battle.

"I was surprised!" M'Andrew said with a chuckle. "You had some incredible speed! But unfortunately, no match for me and my utilities!" He laughs, then raises his left hand in the sky to grab his scarf, which was safely descending from the sky. Right as it lands in his hand, he feels a strong resistance. He looks over to see Cool Kid, already standing, and harshly gripping the other end. "H-hey! What are you doing ass!" He tries to stab Cool Kid with his needle-knife, but the scarf is so long that Cool Kid is at a safe distance. Cool Kid opens his eyes, and looks directly at M'Andrew.

"Did you think I wouldn't recognise this?" He says with a growl.

"Wh-what?" M'Andrew says, with a bit of a whimper in his voice. Cool Kid stares viciously into M'Andrew's eyes.

"I know this scarf." Cool Kid says. "FaDoug told me about it a long time ago. Before you took his place. He told me he was looking for it…it was his reason for fighting…" M'Andrew stares at Cool Kid. "He told me that...it was made by his mother….YOUR mother! I didn't know how helping me find Cool Cat would help him find this scarf...but now, after seeing it up close I see." He pulls on the scarf tighter and raises his free hand. "This scarf….this orange scarf...is made from COOL CAT'S FUR!" His left hand takes the form of a chopping hand. As he pulls on the scard, he effortlessly chops it in half. M'Andrew's eyes widen as he watches his scarf be ripped in two.

Wh...wha….WHAT!? But the scarf was invincible! Butch couldn't even rip out a fiber! And bullets do nothing! How could he-

While lost in his petrified mind, M'Andrew doesn't notice Cool Kid pulling out his gun once again. He fires three shots, all of which penetrate his torso. One bullet pierces his ling, another shatters part of his ribcage, and the last one his lodged somewhere in his flesh.

What...what happened?

As M'Andrew falls to the ground, both of his hands lose their grip. The second half the scarf flutters in the wind, and the needle knife hits the ground, and slides several feet away. Without hesitation, Cool Kid grabs the second half of the scarf, and looks at it. Without thinking, almost as if it were in his blood, he places the two scarf pieces together, and they miraculously sew themselves together again.

"No...how?" M'Andrew nutters from the ground. After recovering from the shock of what he just saw, he looks around, and notices his needle-knife. It was far from him, but he had no choice. Cool Kid was going to kill him, he had to defend himself. He flips over as fast as he could and crawls over to the needle-knife. Unfortunately though, he was already out of time.

Cool Kid wraps the scarf around M'Andrew's neck and pulls. M'Andrew's breath is immediately cut off, and he starts choking.

"Yeah, you fukcing like that!?" Cool Kid shouts. Tears swell up in his eyes, and he begins to cry. "You deserve this you monster!"

M'Andrew tries desperately to claw at the scarf, but he quickly realizes that it's pointless. He will never know how Cool Kid managed to destroy and repair the scarf like that, but he knows that he will never be able to damage it himself. He looks up at Cool Kid to defeat and mutters to him.

"You're right...I suppose it's fitting that I die this way...brother like brother…"

Cool Kid grinds his teeth and looks at M'Andrew.

"So...this is how you killed FaDoug? By choking him with this!?" He thinks for a second. "No…" Her laxes his grip a little, allowing M'Andrew to breath a little again. M'Andrew looks up, completely perplexed by Cool Kid's strange mercy. But he knew that there had to be more to it.

"I'm not as cruel as you...I won't kill someone the same horrid way you did…" He lets out more tears and bites his lip so hard that it begins to bleed. "But also….I won't allow you to die the same way he did! You won't be allowed to share anything of FaDoug's ever again! You don't deserve to be his brother! Now DIE!" He pulls out his pistol yet again, places it against the top of M'Andrew's head, and pulls the trigger.

As his death approaches, and the bullet pierces his brain, a faint memory, that he had buried long ago, resurges in M'Andrew's mind during his last moments.

It's faint at first, but he immediately recognizes the place. It's his old backyard, at his old childhood home. He's sitting on a backyard porch, staring at the grass. He notices a few ants walking by, picking up crumbs they left of the ground. Normally, he would have killed them, but he was too upset to even do that.

Behind him, the sliding door opens, and someone walks out.

"Hey M'Andrew?" He turns around to see none other than FaDoug, his twin brother. He's holding a long orange scarf that's longer than his body as he walks towards him. He doesn't reply, and instead just looks back towards the ants. FaDoug silently sits down next to him and sighs. There's a few moments of silence before FaDoug speaks again.

"I know that you're *tippy* angwy….it's because *tippy* you think mom and *tippy* dad wove me more, wight?" He looks away, showing FaDoug that it's true. FaDoug sighs then smiles.

"Sometimes, I think *tippy* that's twue too...but it isn't! They wove us both!" FaDoug lifts up the scarf and shows it to him. "Wook! They got a scawf made out of Coow Cat's fuw just fow us!" FaDoug is silent for a bit. "Both of us…" FaDoug looks away.

"But I decided...you should have it." He looks at FaDoug in surprise. He's ready to say something, but FaDoug stops him. "It's okay! I don't *tippy* need it. I'd be a lot happier if it belonged *tippy* to you!" FaDoug places the whole scarf on his laugh and smiles. "I don't need it anyway, I have *tippy* the best bwothew in the whole world to make me happy!" FaDoug smiles and gives him a loving hug, and he, with tears in his eyes, hugs back.

As the memory fades away, M'Andrew's eyes are the same as they were in the memory, filled with tears. As the bullet passed through his head, and it falls to the floor through his chin, M'Andrew's body goes limp. When Cool Kid looked at M'Andrew's face, he was surprised to see his eyes and cheeks covered in tears, and a smile on his face.
