"Daphne Moon?"

She rose to her feet in one fluid motion and her heart began to pound even faster than before.

"Y-yes, I'm Daphne Moon." She announced, fully aware of the quivering in her voice.

"Come with me, please."

She followed the medical assistant into the same exam room where she'd been earlier.

"The doctor will see you momentarily." The medical assistant said.

If the wait for the doctor's appointment had been excessively long and nerve wracking, this was pure torture. But she did her best to remain calm, even though it wasn't easy. It wasn't easy at all. Thankfully, time passed quickly and she straightened the moment she heard the door open.

"Miss Moon?"

"Yes."

"I have your test results here." The doctor announced. He leafed through the paperwork on this clipboard, his glasses falling down below the bridge of his nose.

She did her best to appear cheerful and upbeat. "So, what's wrong with me?"

"Well the good news is that it's nothing life threatening. No signs of cancer or any serious illnesses."

"So it's just the flu or the stomach flu?" The question was asked hopefully.

"Not exactly."

"But you just said-."

"Overall, Miss Moon you appear to be in very good health."

"Is that all?"

"Well, there is something else."

"Good or bad news?"

"I suppose it's all in how you look at it. Most people, I would like to think, would consider it good news."

Her heart clinched in her chest. Any more of this beating around the bush and she was liable to go completely crazy.

"Just tell me what it is, please!"

The doctor put down his clipboard and smiled. "Congratulations, Miss Moon. You're pregnant!"
