Hikaru wrapped his arms around Renette's small frame and snuggled into her body like he usually did when they all slept together in the same bed. He always felt safe with her, it was comfortable.

The other twin also had his arms sandwiched around her waist in a loving fashion, the light from the window shining through into their eyes.

Renette muttered at the light and covered her face before grumbling in annoyance at the interruption. Hikaru noticed this and couldn't help but smile at her childlike manner.

They boys didn't know how she felt, but to them, she was their dearest friend and someone very special to her. That would never change.

Suddenly, the phone on the bedside table called in a soft ding and Karou looked over to it before muttering to her. "Renette, your phone."

Sighing once, Hikaru felt his arms fall from her body as she stood up, letting her legs fall to the side. "Ahh well, guess it's time to get ready. I'll go first."

Renette stretched her body and Hikaru watched as she picked up the phone, flipping it open to display the screen.

She read the message quickly before letting her face curl up into a soft smile. It seemed whoever it was, she was really happy about the text.

This was strange to Hikaru, as it seemed everyday for the past month, her phone had been going off nonstop in the morning and towards the night. It almost seemed like a pattern.

Leaning over her shoulder in curiosity, Hikaru tried to see who the mysterious sender was. "Who keeps texting you so much? Is someone harassing you?"

Shaking her head, Renette closed the phone before he could see and sigh. "Something like that, but don't worry. It's just an idiot."

He wasn't put at ease at that and instead felt a small amount of dread in his stomach. Was someone actually harassing her?Over his dead body.

But he stopped when he read her body language which wasn't one of fear or anxiety, but rather one of amusement. Whoever this was, she didn't seem bothered by it.

Because of that, he had to back down for now. "Well, if they bother you just call us. We will take care of it."

Flipping her hair to the side, Renette laughed and waved him off. "Yes yes. You are so scary. It's nothing I can't handle. I'm going to get ready."

He watched her leave and Hikaru's eyes fell to the floor in annoyance. What was she hiding from him?

Karou stood up as well, although he didn't seem bothered by the messages, so his brother called him out on it. "She's hiding something."

Pausing for a moment Kaoru answered. "Maybe, but you know Renette. Let's just trust her with this. It doesn't seem like anything bad."

He noticed his brother wasn't concerned at all but still couldn't help but feel that hard ball of anxiety in his throat. He couldn't just drop something like this.

Renette was brushing her teeth, thinking about the message from Tamaki that greeted her this morning and couldn't help but open her phone again and re read the words on the screen.

Good Morning Renette. Did you sleep well?

Tracing her hand on the screen she sighed to herself, letting the toothbrush hang from her mouth.

The King had indeed kept his promise since the conversation they had in the host club with Benni. He messaged her once every morning and every night but Renette somehow couldn't be annoyed by it.

Suddenly, Karou appeared from nowhere and spoke so loud that it caused her to jump five feet in the air. "Hey, Renete."

She screamed and shut the phone, before coughing at the bubbles her mouth and spitting them out. "Karou, what the hell?! Would it kill you to let me know you're there?"

Putting his hands up in defense, he smiled. "Sorry sorry, I couldn't resist."

Renette shook her head at his antics, and Karou noticed the phone next to her, narrowing his eyes. "Was that the boss before?"

Pausing for a moment, she nodded. "Yeah, still as annoying as ever."

Karou reached for a phone and Renette tried to grab it first but failed, watching him flip open the contents and gasp. "Renette, you haven't answered any of these texts, why?"

Narrowing her eyes, she scoffed. "Why should I? It's not like I asked him to send all these messages."

The orange haired boy softened and threw the phone back towards her. "You say that, yet you've saved every message he's sent you. You can't fool me Renette. I think we've known each other too long for that."

He watched her cheeks flush with embarrassment. "Shut up. It's none of your business. I guess, I just don't know how."

Taking a step closer, he let his friend fall onto the frame and sighed. "Renette, I know you're afraid to take that step but just, start small. Go ahead and answer the boss, it's okay. You can trust him."

Her eyes fell his eyes in uncertainty, squeezing the phone in her hand. "I don't know that."

Smiling softly, he nodded. "Yes, you do."

The air grew quiet until Hikaru ran into the space, a cheeky smile upon his face. "Hey you two, let's go. What are you even doing? We are gonna be late."

This was the out that Renette needed to push past Karou and laugh. "Okay okay I'm coming. Hold your horses, will you?"

Karou sighed to himself and dropped the conversation for now.

It wasn't up to him whether she decided to open herself up to others or not, but he hoped that she would make the right choice someday.

When they reached the school together, Hikaru could tell that both Renette and Karou were on edge for some reason, but neither of them told him what it was. Now it seemed they were both hiding something, and he didn't like it.

Club hours came fast and when they all entered the music room, Tamaki beamed with joy at their presence. "Are all of you ready for another glorious day at the Host Club my dear friends?"

He was so loud and sparkly that Renette had to block her ears. "I really need earplugs for this dang place."

The twins laughed but Tamaki didn't find it funny. "Aw my darling Renette, why would you want to block out my beautiful words of love?"

Crossing her arms, he scoffed. "Okay, first of all, don't ever call me darling again, and second of all, that's actually all I ever wanted in the world."

Yet it seemed Souh didn't get the message. "But, my darling…"

This caused Renette and stomp down on the king's foot and him crying out in pain. "Hey! Why did you do that?!"

Pointing her hand out she answered straightforward. "I warned you never to called me darling again, also personal space buddy boy."

He held his foot and hobbled over to Kyoya in devastation. "Mommy look! Renette hurt me again!"

The glasses boy shut his book and sighed. "Quit bothering her then."

But the king just gasped. "Bother?! Why, I've never heard that word in my entire life. I was just trying to express how much my darling means to me."

Renette twitched her eyes at this and the room suddenly rose in temperature. "Souh, now you're just asking for it. Come here and give me your other foot."

He tried to back away from her incoming rage, knowing he had indeed called her darling again on impulse. "Now Renette, come on. I was only just..AHHH!"

Renette began to run after the king while he tried to escape her, circling the club room over and over again.

Karou laughed at the altercation before him. "The club is lively today, isn't it Hikaru?"

But Hikaru had other things on his mind, entranced with the way the Boss and Renette were running around. They almost looked like they were enjoying themselves. Something had definitely shifted between the two.

That hard ball of anxiety appeared in his stomach again and tried to block it out, listening to a couple guests conversations instead. "Hey, did you hear about what Hana saw the other day? It seemed that Tamaki was on a date!"

The other girls eyes widened. "A date?! No way! But he's a member of the host club. Did she see who he was with?"

Shaking her head in response, she answered. "Unfortunately she couldn't see who it was, only that she was wearing some kind of purple and white striped hat and had orange hair."

Hikaru's eyes widened at the words and couldn't help but remember Renette owning a hat almost exactly like the one the girls had described. It couldn't be, right? She would've told him something as important as that.

The guests eyed the display between Renette the King this disdain and gasped. "You don't think, he's dating Renette do you?!"

But her friend only laughed with amusement. "Oh please. Tamaki wouldn't fall for someone like her. It can't be."

The girl nodded her head, picking her the tea cup carefully. "You're right. He wouldn't be manipulated like that."

The conversation was changed but Hikaru couldn't help but feel slightly nauseous at the idea that Renette was the girl that they describe. No, he was just overthinking it, that's all.

He felt a hand on his shoulder and turned to find Renetter standing there in question. "Hey Hikaru, are you okay? You've been kinda off today."

Snapping back to reality, he tried to reassure her. "Yeah, where is the Boss?"

She pointed her finger to the corner where he was holding his other foot in pain. "He thought he could get away from me. Stupid mistake."

Laughing joyfully, he took in her eyes and realized he must of been overreacting. Renette wasn't someone who took things too seriously. She was just playing with him like she usually did.

There was nothing behind it.

Club hours were over soon and , Hikaru was putting away a couple things in a nearby closet when he heard the sound giggle of a couple girls in the hall.

Curious, he poked his head out to hear one of them speak. "Serves her right for trying to get close to Tamaki."

He recognized the girls from the host club who were gossiping before, holding something in their hands. "Renette's kind of scary though, what if she comes after us?"

The other girl smirked, Hikaru realizing the object in her hand was Renette's phone. "Please, then I'll just call my father and have her expelled."

Narrowing his eyes, the twin confirmed that these girls must of taken her phone as some sort of bullying tactic. Too bad from them, he was there.

The girls watched him stepped into view and gasped in fear. "Now, what do you have there?"

They began to shake at his presence. "Hikaru! Umm we were just…"

He quickly grabbed the phone out of her hands and hissed. "If you don't want to be reported, I suggest you never do something like this again."

Bowing twice, the girls nodded their heads and hurried away from his wrath. "We are so sorry!"

When they were gone, Hikaru turned the phone over in his hands and sighed. Jealousy was a terrible thing.

Then, he remembered the messages from this morning and carefully flipped open the phone to take a look. He really shouldn't have but if Renette really was being harassed, then he needed to know who it was.

He pushed a button to reach the messages at couldn't help but gasp at the sight before him.

Staring him in the face, were folders with specific months down the sides, and in them, were all messages from the King himself, Tamaki.

He scrolled through each month and found the same exact thing. Why was she saving this kind of thing? They weren't even that special.

Beginning the search through the phone, he found specific texts.

Good Morning Renette. I hope you do well on your exam today.

Good Night Renette. Don't study too late.

Good Morning Renette. I found this commoner shop today. I think you would like it.

Good Night Renette. See you tomorrow

They were all just simple, one lined messages but Hikaru couldn't help but feel an anger in his chest. Why was she keeping all of these stupid little phrases? He had said the same exact things to her most of the time. It didn't make any sense.

Bringing the phone back, he found Renette searching around the host club, grumbling to herself. "Where the hell could it be?"

Karou moved up to her in question. "Hey, what's wrong?"

Renette ran her fingers through her hair and sighed. "Ahh I just can't find my phone. I swear I left it here when I was playing my set."

Hikaru was about bring the object to her when he froze, seeing Tamaki moving to her. "Are you sure you left it there?"

Nodding her head, Hikaru's eyes narrowed when the boss put a hand to her shoulder. Whatever it was, he didn't like it.

So much so, that he slipped her phone back in his pocket, before stepping out. Renette saw him approach and smiled. "Hey Hikaru, have you seen my phone anywhere?"

He pretended to think for a moment before shaking his head. "No I haven't seen it."

The twins watched her eyes fall before she snapped them up, a forcefully smile upon her face. "Ahh well. I needed a new one anyways. I hear the newest model came out recently, maybe I'll get that one."

Haruhi turned her head in question. "Is that really okay?"

But Renette just laughed it off. "I think you forget to remember that I'm rich, Haruhi. Getting a new phone isn't that big of a deal."

The commoner made a side comment about stupid rich people but Renette just smiled. "Well, it's time to go. Ready boys?"

They nodded their heads and followed Renette out of the host club and back towards their house.

When it was almost time for bed, Hikaru past Renette's room to find her pacing back in forth in anxiety. Although, when he stepped into view she acted like it never happened in the first place. "Ah Hikaru, what's up?"

He decided to ignore her weird behavior and decided to just tell her what he came for. "I was just wondering if you were going to sleep with us again?"

Nodded her head, Renette waved his offer away. "Oh, yeah, I will in a couple minutes. I just have to finish studying first and then I'll be right there."

Hikaru nodded his head and left her alone, brushing off her mannerisms. She probably was just stressed about Adele and school. It surely wasn't about her phone.

A couple minutes, turned to a couple hours and the twins still hadn't seen any sign of Renette anywhere. Usually she wouldn't came into their room by now.

They decided to check on her but when they opened the door to her room, they found it to be empty.

Heavy anxiety began to rise in their throats and they quickly found a maid in the hallway to question. "Have you seen Renette anywhere?"

The maid just nodded her head and pointed to the door. "Yes, Miss Rentte said that she had to go somewhere and left about an hour ago."

Turning their heads in confusion Karou muttered. "I wonder where she could be…"

They thought for a moment before Hikaru realized something.

Quickly grabbing his jacket, he ignored the shouts from his brother and hurried out into the street.

She wouldn't have gone back to that school so late at night to look for her stupid phone, would she?

Were those messages really so important to her?

Running up the steps, he pushed open the door to the music room and found just empty space. Then he hurried to the classroom and slammed the entryway to the quiet room. It seemed like no one was here either.

He was about to turn around when a soft rustle could be heard in the corner at his presence causing a loud thumb to appear.

Hikaru recognized Renetter's voice almost immediately. "Ow! Stupid desk."

Sighing to himself, he moved over to her in question. "Renette, what are you doing?"

He turned the corner and found her crouching on her hands and knees, pressing against the floor in no shame. Why was she going this far?

Renette rubbed her head and laughed. "Oh hey Hikaru, fancy seeing you here. I was just looking for something that's important for that test tomorrow."

He narrowed his eyes and crouched down the meet her level. "Why did you disappear without telling us? Do you know how scared we were?"

Looking down, she playfully slapped his shoulder. "Oh did you? I'm sorry. I just totally realized I needed this piece for tomorrow. You can go ahead."

Hikaru watched as she crawled around on the floor, looking so desperately for what he knew wasn't a study guide, it was the phone. "Come on, get off the floor. You are gonna get dirty."

But Renette didn't stop. "I can't until I find it."

Looking at her state, he had never seen his friend so serious. All she did was play around with people, that was who she was, never getting too close to others. The only people she cared about was them, until now.

Feeling himself sadden, he asked a question he didn't know he wanted the answer to. "Are you really that serious about it?"

Renette stopped for a moment before whispering her response, almost like she was afraid. "I am."

Hikaru felt anger, sadness and shame all at the same time course through him. He couldn't watch her crawl on the floor for something she would never find. He had to fix it.

Slipping the phone out of his pocket, Hikaru placed it on the ground next to him before shouting. "Oh, I think I found it."

Renette turned in hope as he picked up the object and showed it to her. "This is what you were looking for, right?"

Handing the phone to her, he couldn't help but watch her eyes soften, tears brimming the edges as she pushed it close to her face. "Thank goodness."

She looked so relieved and happy that Hikaru couldn't help but smile. He couldn't take something so important from her, even if he didn't like it.

Lifting her head, Renetter smiled and hugged Hikaru, almost knocking him into the floor in the process. "Thank you Hikaru."

He suddenly felt dirty about keeping this from her and felt shame bubble in his stomach. "Don't thank me, I didn't do much."

She didn't answer back but felt her embrace tighten around him in reply. He hated how good she thought of him as. He wasn't that pure.

In fact, he hated that phone in her hand but seeing her happy was more than any of that.

Placing the phone on the nightstand, Renette heard the soft ding and opened it to find Souh's usual one lined message.

Good Night Renette.

I'm not sure you will get this but I hope you find your phone soon.

She thought about what Karou had said to her and about how she almost lost her phone and knew what she had to do. Maybe it was time to try this out.

Smiling softly, she took in a deep breath before hitting the reply button on the button and typing out.

Souh,

There is this commoner shop opening this weekend.

If you're bored, I guess you could tag along with me.

That is, if you wanted to?

This was so cute to write. Hikaru's jealousy, Renette being nervous and of course all the fluff! Karou is still acting as the wingman for them as he wants the ship to sail. And then, Renette finally asking Souh out on a date and taking that first step? I wonder how it will go?

Next time: Tamaki and Renettes "second" date
