Chapter 53: Sins of Arcadia – Part 3
"DUEL!"
Dark Sly: 4000 LP
Luna: 4000 LP
My Mark began glowing for a brief second as I drew the first five cards before both Sly and I were trapped in a dark purple energy dome. "W-What is this?!"
"It is an energy dome to keep disturbing nuisance out of here", Dark Sly chuckled. "That and to make sure your Mark cannot send a distress signal to your comrades."
I cold sweated at the thought of facing this dark force alone, but I was going to try my best. Perhaps I could figure out another way to tell the Signers and Estelle that I was in trouble. I quickly checked my hand. I had Cure Mermaid, Bird of Roses, Gravity Bind, Fairy Archer, and Ebon Magician Curran.
"I shall go first. Draw!" Dark Sly called. "I start by summoning Telekinetic Shocker in attack mode!"
Telekinetic Shocker, Level 4: ATK 1700
"I now activate the Field Spell; Brain Research Lab!"
The field transformed into the interior of a luminous laboratory. There were large test tubes with brains inside them. I held back the urge to throw up because the brains looked like they were actual human brains.
"Brain Research Lab's effect!" Dark Sly continued. "I can Normal summon one psychic-type Monster in addition to the Normal summon. I Normal summon Psychic Jumper in attack mode!"
Psychic Jumper, Level 2, Tuner: ATK 100
"Since I successfully summoned a Monster with Brain Research Lab, the Field Spell gains one Psychic Counter", Dark Sly explained.
The lights in the laboratory shone bright for a moment before it calmed down. One of the spotlights behind Dark Sly turned on and shone the light on him.
Brain Research Lab: 1 Psychic Counter
"I tune Level 2 Psychic Jumped with Level 4 Telekinetic Shocker! Put the victims into sleep and feast on their nightmares! Synchro summon! Come, Psychic Nightmare!"
Psychic Nightmare, Level 6: ATK 2400
"I place one card facedown and end my turn", Dark Sly said as a facedown card appeared on his Spell/Trap Card Zone. "Now then… Show me your strength, Signer. Defeat my Monster to prove you are powerful enough to defeat an Earthbound Immortal."
It sounded like he was taunting me, but I wasn't going to fall for it. "My turn! Draw!" I drew Horn of the Unicorn. "I summon Fairy Archer in defense mode!"
Fairy Archer, Level 3: DEF 600
"Fairy Archer's effect! Once per turn, during my Main Phase, she can inflict 400 points of damage to you for each face-up LIGHT Monster I control. She then cannot attack on the same turn. Since Fairy Archer is the only LIGHT Monster I control, you take 400 points of damage!"
Fairy Archer loaded her bow with an arrow and fired it at Dark Sly. The arrow hit the ground next to him, but he didn't even flinch as the dirt was thrown around him.
Dark Sly: 4000 LP – 3600 LP
Luna: 4000 LP
"I place one card facedown and end my turn", I finished, throwing Gravity Bind facedown.
"Draw!" Dark Sly called before he began chuckling darkly. "I should thank you for your assistance, Signer."
"What do you mean?" I asked confusedly.
"Because by lowering my Life Points, you helped me activate my Trap; Psychic Trigger", Dark Sly replied as said Trap card flipped up. "It can only be activated when my Life Points are lower than my opponent's. I get to choose two psychic-type Monsters in my Graveyard and remove them from play, but I also get to draw two more cards from my Deck. I remove from play Telekinetic Shocker and Psychic Jumper."
"I activate my Continuous Trap; Gravity Bind!" I quickly called, activating said card. "This card prevents Level 4 and higher Monsters from attacking!"
Psychic Nightmare looked like he was getting affected by the change of the gravity as he got down on one knee, but he didn't change into defense mode.
"Clever move, Signer", Dark Sly commented. "But it is not enough. I play the Emergency Teleport Spell card! It allows me to Special summon one Level 3 or lower psychic-type Monster from my hand or Deck, but it gets banished at the End Phase of this turn. I Special summon Lifeforce Harmonizer from my Deck!"
Lifeforce Harmonizer, Level 2: DEF 400
"I release Lifeforce Harmonizer to Tribute summon Psychic Emperor!"
Psychic Emperor, Level 6: ATK 2400
"Psychic Emperor's effect!" Dark Sly continued. "When he is Normal summoned, I gain 500 Life Points for each psychic-type Monster in my Graveyard. I only have Lifeforce Harmonizer, but it is enough."
Lifeforce Harmonizer's spirit appeared in front of Dark Sly before it flew around him, releasing healing particles.
Dark Sly: 3600 LP – 4100 LP
Luna: 4000 LP
"I activate Brain Research Lab! I Normal summon Psychic Commander in attack mode, and I'll gain my second Psychic Counter."
Psychic Commander, Level 3, Tuner: ATK 1400
Brain Research Lab: 1 Psychic Counter – 2 Psychic Counter
Uh-oh! Psychic Commander was a Level 3 Monster, so that meant he could attack!
"Psychic Commander, destroy Fairy Archer!" Dark Sly yelled.
The Monster giggled darkly before the tank fired a laser bullet at Fairy Archer. My Monster shrieked in pain before she shattered into pieces.
"I end my turn and Emergency Teleport's effect activates", Dark Sly declared. "Lifeforce Harmonizer is removed from play."
"My turn. Draw!" I called, drawing Giant Trunade.
It was a good card, but I couldn't use it now. If I did that, my Gravity Bind would also return to my hand and I couldn't let that happen right now. The Trap card was my protection to make sure Dark Sly's powerful Monsters couldn't attack me.
"I summon Ebon Magician Curran in attack mode!"
Ebon Magician Curran, Level 2: ATK 1200
"I equip Horn of the Unicorn to Ebon Magician Curran, increasing both her attack and defense points by 700!" I continued.
Ebon Magician Curran's whip began glowing as she absorbed the power of the Equip Spell card. The rubber whip transformed into a solid version while glowing in golden colors.
Ebon Magician Curran, Level 2: ATK 1200 – ATK 1900
"Ebon Magician Curran, destroy Psychic Commander!"
My Monster let out a battle cry as she threw the whip toward Psychic Commander. The solid whip hit the flying tank so hard it left a dent on the surface. Ebon Magician Curran jumped up with a cry and whipped the human on the tank, destroying the Monster. The shards of the Monster hit Dark Sly as he protected his face with his Duel Disk.
Dark Sly: 4100 LP – 3600 LP
Luna: 4000 LP
Maybe I could still win this as long as I could save some time with Gravity Bind and keep Ebon Magician Curran on the field. She got quite powerful with the Equip Card.
"I end my turn", I called.
"Draw!" Dark Sly called, but stopped for a second to check his new card.
I noticed how he lowered his head, but his shoulders were shaking. He made some weird noise before he raised his head while laughing hard.
"What's so funny?" I asked, getting a bad feeling.
"Because I have just drawn your demise, Signer!" Dark Sly laughed. "I start by playing Twister! I pay 500 Life Points to destroy your Gravity Bind!"
Dark Sly: 3600 LP – 3100 LP
Luna: 4000 LP
A twister blew out from Dark Sly's Spell card and hit my face-up Trap card. I shielded my face as the wind blew around me and destroyed Gravity Bind.
"But I am not done", Dark Sly said. "I now play Brain Control! By paying 800 Life Points, I can take control of your Monster."
"No!" I yelled in disbelief.
Dark Sly: 3100 LP – 2300 LP
Luna: 4000 LP
A big brain floated out of the Spell card and emitted a bright light. Ebon Magician Curran grew stiff as she floated over to Dark Sly's side. Her eyes were hazy, pretty similar to Dark Sly's.
"Curran!" I called her name worriedly.
"She will no longer be here as I release her to Tribute summon the Deadly Sin of Wrath; Darklord Amdusc!" Dark Sly yelled with a tone that sounded like a combination of malice and joy.
"Deadly Sin of Wrath…?" I mumbled confusedly.
The dark aura enveloping Dark Sly began moving violently as Ebon Magician Curran cried out as her body transformed into dark energy. I watched in horror as the aura from Dark Sly moved from his body to the field, absorbing the dark energy. Sly no longer had the aura, but his eyes still showed me he was hypnotized.
My Mark began throbbing in pain and I couldn't resist clutching it while holding back a grunt. It hurt almost as much as when the Earthbound Immortals were summoned. The dark energy changed into a purple four-legged horse with a horn on its forehead and black bird wings on its back. It had black armor and other things attached to it while it had a red emblem spinning around on top of its head that looked like a sun.
Darklord Amdusc, Level 6: ATK 1800
This Monster was twice as big as Sunlight Unicorn and emitted an uncomfortable aura. "W-What kind of Monster is this…?" I couldn't help but shake in fear.
"You wish to know, Signer?" Darklord Amdusc taunted. "I am afraid I cannot reveal the truth just yet."
I tried shaking off the fear and confronted the Monster. "Who are you? Are you the one controlling Sly?!"
"Oh, Hell no, Signer", Darklord Amdusc replied. "He is under his father's control. I merely took over the Duel until he summoned me." He neighed in a laughing tone. "A Duel that you cannot win."
I began cold sweating in fear, knowing I couldn't do anything to save myself this turn, but I had to continue to the very end. "When Horn of the Unicorn is sent from the field to the Graveyard, it returns to the top of my Deck."
"It cannot save you, Signer", Darklord Amdusc shook his head before turning to Sly. "Boy. Do it."
Sly slowly raised his right arm up and pointed at me, acting like a lifeless zombie. "Psychic Nightmare… Attack directly…"
The Synchro Monster roared as it flew towards me. It stopped above me before it released green electricity that shocked me. I cried in pain as the attack was real. Was this what Leo felt when he Dueled Sayer back in the Arcadia Movement? How was he able to endure it?
Sly: 2300 LP
Luna: 4000 LP – 1600 LP
My body felt weak and was smoking as I got down on my knees, gasping for air as saliva dropped from my mouth. "B-But how…? S-Sly can't have…psychic powers… H-He never showed them…in a Duel before…"
"Oh, he does have psychic powers, Signer", Darklord Amdusc chuckled. "They were just concealed until Sayer helped him unlock them. Boy. Finish it."
"No, Sly! Don't do it!" I yelled desperately, hoping my voice could reach him. "This is not you! I know you're not the type who wants to hurt others! Yes, you are sometimes rude, but you've never hurt anyone physically! Please, don't hurt me! I'm your friend, Sly!"
"F-Friend…?" Sly mumbled softly as his eyes cleared up a little bit.
"Do not listen to him, boy!" Darklord Amdusc called. "She is trying to bring you back to that cold household where no one cares about you; the house where you have been neglected and abandoned by your own flesh and blood."
What was Darklord Amdusc talking about? Sly was really being neglected by his grandparents? When I saw them on TV while being interviewed, the grandmother cried hard as the grandfather showed concern about his grandchild. Have they just been acting?
"The only way you can avenge is by crushing every single enemy that dares to stand in your way, and this Signer is your enemy", Darklord Amdusc continued manipulating Sly.
"My enemy…", Sly repeated as his eyes became hazy again. "Do not stand…in my way…"
"Good boy", Darklord Amdusc neighed in delight. "Now, what do you say now?"
"Darklord Amdusc… Attack directly…"
"No! Sly, don't!" I yelled in fear.
Darklord Amdusc neighed as he raised his wings and galloped towards me. He jumped up and hovered above me with his wings spread out. I was still on all four and watched the black Pegasus in horror.
"This is it, Signer", Darklord Amdusc chuckled evilly. "I hope you enjoyed seeing the light."
Sly: 2300 LP
Luna: 1600 LP – 0 LP
Dark aura came up from my shadow and slowly encaged me. My Mark throbbed even more and caused pain, but at the same time my eyelids were getting heavy. Was this dark Monster putting me down to sleep?
No… I couldn't let that happen.
Sly… Please stop this Darklord Monster.
"Leo…", I mumbled weakly before everything turned black.
XXXXXXXXXX – Normal POV
Leo, Miyuki, and Dexter had not long ago realized they had lost sight of Luna. They were calling her name as they made sure to stay together.
"Luna! Luna, where are you?!" Dexter yelled.
"Luna, answer us if you can hear us!" Miyuki called.
Leo stopped in his tracks as he felt his Mark throb in slight pain. He could tell immediately something was terribly wrong with his twin sister as the hair stood up at the back of his neck.
Luna was in danger!
"LUNA!" Leo yelled before he ran off, leaving his friends behind.
"Leo!" Miyuki called, watching the male twin run off.
"Leo, where are you going?!" Dexter yelled.
"Luna's in trouble!" Leo yelled over his shoulder. "I can feel it!"
"What?!" Miyuki exclaimed in disbelief.
Leo ran deeper into the forest, his silhouette fading in the shadows.
"We've gotta go after him!" Dexter declared.
"Don't, Dexter!" Miyuki called, grabbing the boy's arm before he could run after Leo. "We'll get lost if we run after Leo! We have to get an adult!"
"Oh, right!" Dexter nodded, realizing his mistake. "We need to get Yusei!"
"Or Estelle!" Miyuki added. "Do you have their phone numbers?"
"No!" Dexter shook his head. "We have to hurry and get back to the city!"
XXXXXXXXXX – Leo's POV
I forgot all the fear I had before. My brain was entirely on Luna. Where and how did she get hurt? I would never forgive myself for letting Luna slip out of my sight while I was terrified by the dark forest.
"Luna! LUNA!" I yelled worriedly.
The low tree branches seemed to open up a path for me as I saw a bright light up ahead. I reached a clearing just in time to see a black-looking Pegasus fading that hovered above Luna who was unconscious!
"Luna!" I yelled as I tried to run to her.
A fire ball came out of nowhere and aimed towards me. I noticed it in time and jumped away before it hit the dirt. I crouched down and looked at the culprit, first suspecting it was Sayer, but my eyes widened in shock.
"Sly!" I exclaimed in shock.
He didn't respond to his name. Heck, he looked just as weird as Aki did when she was under Sayer's control.
Even so, I got so angry at my classmate for hurting my sister! "What have you done to Luna, Sly?! Why'd you hurt her?!"
No answer, which made me furious!
"Alright, that's it!" I called as I straightened up.
Just as I did that, I felt something hit the back of my neck. I let out a grunt before I lost consciousness, collapsing next to Luna. I managed to stay away a few more seconds as I heard an awfully familiar voice that I hadn't heard since the Fortune Cup.
"Excellent, Sly. We have two of the Signers in our possession now, and one of them is the gateway to the Spirit World. You have done well, boy."
"Professor…", I mumbled weakly before the darkness hit me.
XXXXXXXXXX – Normal POV
Dexter and Miyuki had been running for a long time and the still weren't nearby the Fountain Plaza. They were still several streets away, but they had to push on. Dexter ran ahead since he had better physical condition, but Miyuki was already running dry. She had to stop and hold onto the railing on the side as she put her other hand on her right knee while leaning down, panting with a raspy voice. Her friend noticed she wasn't behind him, so he rushed back to see how she was doing.
"Miyuki, are you okay?" Dexter asked concernedly.
"N-N-No…", Miyuki panted deeply. "I-I'm tired…"
"We're almost there, Miyuki! You need to push yourself harder!"
"I-I can't… M-My legs hurt…"
Dexter sighed, feeling conflicted. He had to run ahead to tell Yusei about Leo and Luna's disappearance, but he didn't want to leave Miyuki behind and all alone.
A white Duel Runner in the shape of a horse braked next to them. The driver's face was covered by its red helmet with gold accents that had the design of a knight with head armor with an orange visor and grey mouth protector. They were also dressed in a white riding suit with red accents, red undershirt, grey guards on their shoulders, knees, elbow, and shin, and a charcoal-colored padding over the torso. "Is there a problem, children?"
Miyuki and Dexter looked up at the stranger. They have never seen this suspected Turbo Duelist before. Were they in New Domino City for the World Racing Grand Prix?
"No, we're good! Thank you for asking", Dexter replied, remembering the stranger danger rule his parents had taught him from an early stage. "Let's go, Miyuki."
"I-I can't take another step…", Miyuki panted as her legs were about to give up on her.
A second Duel Runner braked behind the white Turbo Duelist. This one had the design of a black old-fashioned car. The driver was a slight muscular man in his late 40's with tanned skin and dark blueish eyes that reflected on the windshield of his helmet. What the children noticed was he was dressed in a black suit with a big dark blue bowtie, almost as if he was a butler.
"What is happening, Master?" the butler asked.
The white Turbo Duelist was quiet for a brief moment as they watched the two children. Dexter gently grabbed Miyuki's hand to help her walk, but the pinkette was still out of breath and seemed to be in pain. It was something the Duelist couldn't really ignore.
"Say, you two…", the Turbo Duelist spoke, their voice sounding both masculine and feminine at the same time. "We're actually looking for the Fortune Cup winner, Fudo Yusei." The children froze in their tracks when they heard the name. "Do you happen to know where he lives?"
"Fudo Yusei? That's the friend we need to get to!" Dexter exclaimed.
"Really? What a coincidence", the white Turbo Duelist chuckled amusingly. "We can give you a ride so you can show us where he lives. Mizoguchi."
"Yes, Master. You may ride with me, boy."
"Thank you very much!" Dexter smiled in relief as he helped Miyuki walk to the white Duel Runner.
Miyuki held back whimpers as her sore feet hurt for every step she took. The white Duelist moved a bit forward on their Duel Runner to make some space for the girl to sit on. Miyuki climbed onto the Runner and wrapped her arms around the Duelist. Once Dexter figured she was secured, he rushed to the butler and managed to get on the car-like Duel Runner.
The white Turbo Duelist pushed the accelerator before they drove off after getting instructions from Dexter. Miyuki was silent as she looked at the masked driver. As soon as she had wrapped her arms around them, she noticed their waist was too thin to be a male underneath the suit, but maybe she was just imagining things.
XXXXXXXXXX – Yusei's POV
I had spent almost the entire day working on the engine prototype, but my mind hadn't been fully set on it. You could say I was a bit on the edge because of the revival of Sayer's Arcadia Movement. Estelle had warned me and the other Signers to watch out for the grunts from the organization because they could come after us as revenge.
I heard the noise of two Duel Runners outside of the garage, but I ignored it, assuming they were just driving by. Jack was at work at the café in the plaza and Crow was still on his shift with his delivery service.
I jumped a bit when the twin doors were slammed open and two voices called my name in panic.
"Yusei! YUSEI!"
I glanced up and saw Dexter and Miyuki looking really pale as if they had seen a ghost. Both of them were wearing their school uniforms, but I knew the school day ended more than an hour ago, so they probably hadn't come here straight after class.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"W-We were with Leo and Luna while exploring the Cursed Spirit Forest, but both of them disappeared!" Dexter explained.
"What?!" I exclaimed in shock before I straightened up from the floor. "Tell me what exactly happened!"
I got a quick summary of how the children wanted to explore the mysterious forest to try finding Sly after hearing rumors about people missing, but then they lost sight of Luna and Leo ran ahead after telling Miyuki and Dexter that he sensed his twin was in danger.
"You did a good thing coming back to tell me", I told the children before I grabbed my cell phone.
"Are you going to report this to Estelle?" Miyuki asked with tired eyes.
"Yeah", I nodded as I reached out my free hand to gently pat the girl's head. "You two should head home. I'll let you know when my friends and I bring back Leo and Luna."
"Okay…", Dexter nodded hesitantly before heading toward the open twin doors.
"Be careful…", Miyuki added as she followed her classmate. "That forest…is really scary…"
I nodded as I dialed Estelle's number and called her. The children closed the door behind them as I listened at the beeps in the cell phone. After the fourth beep, my call got answered.
"Hello? Yusei?" Estelle's voice echoed, sounding like she was out of breath.
"Yeah, it's me", I replied, hearing loud noise in the background. "Leo and Luna are in-"
"-danger. Yeah, I heard that from their Duel Spirits", Estelle interrupted. "I'm sorry if I sound a bit rude, but Sector Security just got a breakthrough in the Neo Arcadia Movement case. Yusei, I want you to mobilize the Signers and hurry to the HQ, pronto."
"What-", I was about to ask what was going on when she ended the call.
I looked at the cell phone for a few seconds to comprehend what just happened before I snapped out of it. It really sounded like Estelle and Sector Security were preparing for something big, so I followed her word and called Crow and Aki while I ran outside to get Jack.
XXXXXXXXXX
Jack and I drove straight to Sector Security with Crow and Misty's personal limousine behind us. Aki was visiting her with Carly when I had called. When I told them the news about the breakthrough, both Carly and Misty insisted coming along to help out. Both of them were personally involved because of the past with Misty's brother dying in Sayer's hands and Carly investigating the old Arcadia Movement.
We were met by chaos as we stepped inside the HQ. Officers were running back and forth as some stopped to ask a colleague about something before moving on.
"Whoa! Where's the fire?" Crow wondered loudly as we walked toward the front desk.
"They must be preparing for a huge caravan", Misty responded.
"And I must prepare myself for a big scoop!" Carly giggled like an excited child.
"Carly…", Jack sighed softly.
"Mr. Atlas, everyone", Mina called as she hurried to us. "I heard from Estelle she called for you as reinforcement for the operation."
"What exactly is going on, Mina?" I asked. "Estelle didn't tell us any details."
"The grunts from Neo Arcadia Movement that assaulted Director Goodwin and Estelle recently woke up in the hospital", Mina explained. "They apparently got brainwashed by Sayer and were turned into mindless soldiers, but they remember everything beforehand. They also revealed Sayer's hideout that's located in the forest outskirts of New Domino City."
"The Cursed Spirit Forest?" I asked.
"Yes", Mina nodded.
"There's something I need to tell you", I continued. "Leo and Luna disappeared in the forest not long ago."
Mina gasped loudly at the news. "Are you serious?"
"Yes. Two of their friends told me about it."
"Sayer could have them captured by now", Aki said worriedly. "He might try using Luna again just like last time."
"This is serious", Mina got a determined expression. "Yusei, Mr. Atlas, Aki, and Crow, as the Chief of Special Investigations, I'm personally requesting your aid for this raid to arrest Sayer Divine and stop Neo Arcadia Movement."
"You can count on me!" Crow nodded his head.
"As the future King of Games, it's my duty to protect the city I live in", Jack said with his arms crossed.
"I won't let Sayer hurt anymore children and other innocent victims!" Aki nodded determinedly.
"We're all in", I nodded.
Mina nodded before her eyes traveled to Carly and Misty. "I'm sorry, but you two must stay out of it."
"What?! Are you kidding?" Carly exclaimed, surprised.
Mina glared at the reporter. "This is not a parade for reporters, and you will only get in the way."
"Excuse me…?!" Carly growled through gritted teeth.
"And you, Misty; I know you're involved because of your brother, but this could get dangerous", Mina told the model, her voice growing soft compared to how she just spoke to Carly.
"I'm aware of that, but I'm also a witness concerning the boy Sly", Misty argued calmly. "I'm a Duelist myself and I brought my Deck with me to help out."
"Me too!" Carly raised her right hand up. "I'm going to protect Jack! I won't get in the way!"
Mina looked like she was losing her patience and turned to the reporter. "I just told you-"
"Carly and Misty can come along!"
I looked up and felt like my heart stopped for a second. Estelle was dressed in a female Sector Security outfit which resembled Trudge's uniform with the colors. Instead of pants, she was wearing a short formfitting skirt with black non-transparent tights. She also had a red scarf tucked underneath her jacket, obviously representing her secret role as the Crimson Star Priestess. She had such a serious aura around her while dressed as an officer.
"Whoa! Lookin' good there, Estelle!" Crow said jokingly as he gave her a thumbs up.
"This is not the time to flirt, Crow!" Aki scolded him after slapping him at the back of his head.
Mina turned to Estelle as the brunette walked up to her. "What? But, Estelle, they're civilians! They're incapable of helping us!"
"I've already received permission from Director Goodwin about Misty and Carly, and they both are powerful Duelists", Estelle argued calmly as she crossed her arms. "Both of them and the Signers are going to be in my team."
"But-"
"We're losing precious time as we keep arguing back and forth. We need to hurry."
Mina bit her lower lip before she sighed in defeat. "You're right." She turned back to us. "You'll follow Estelle's commands." She swiftly glared at Carly. "And don't get in the way, Carly, especially around Mr. Atlas."
"Hey!" Carly exclaimed, obviously offended.
Mina ignored the yell as she walked away to talk to another group of Securities. Estelle sighed softly with a small shake of her head before turning to us. "I'm sorry about Mina, but she is right in a certain degree. She just wants to protect you two, Carly, Misty."
"I understand", Misty nodded. "It is Sector Security's job to serve and protect New Domino City."
"But does she have to be so rude to me…?" Carly muttered to herself.
"So what's the plan?" Jack asked.
"First of all, you need to go and change into Security's uniform", Estelle replied.
"Why?" I wondered curiously.
"Because, in that way, you'll get treated equally among the Securities", Estelle explained. "That and the uniform are safer to wear instead of casual clothes. Kaz!"
Kaz rushed straight to her as he separated from a team that ran past us. "You called?"
The way he casually put a hand on Estelle's shoulder made me suddenly frustrated that I couldn't help but grit my teeth.
"Kaz, could you be so kind and escort the young men to the locker-room and give them their uniforms?" Estelle requested.
"Of course", Kaz nodded with a big smile. "Jack, Yusei, Crow, follow me."
XXXXXXXXXX – Estelle's POV
As soon as everyone had changed their clothes into a uniform, there was a big gathering in the garage where several unmarked cars and Duel Runners had been prepared for this big operation. Every Security, including my friends, had the standard Duel Disks strapped on their arms as they stood in four different groups in front of Goodwin, Lazar, Trudge, two other superiors, and me. Trudge, the superiors, and I were team leaders, so we've been assigned with different teams to lead through the operation.
"Fellow colleagues, as most of you are aware of, this operation is about capturing Sayer Divine, leader of the Arcadia Movement", Goodwin explained. "He is one of Security's five most wanted because of his organization's true intensions to attack New Domino City. It is crucial to find and arrest him to bring justice for all the victims that have suffered because of him. Commissioner Trudge will explain the raid in detail along with the other team leaders, so pay close attention."
The Securities posed and saluted in response. "Yes, sir!"
My friends looked a bit confused for a brief second before they saluted as well. Goodwin and Lazar left us before Trudge took a step forward to take over the command.
"Alright, listen up! This is what we're going to do!" the commissioner called as a large holographic screen appeared above us, displaying a satellite image of the forest outskirts of the city. "According to the information we got, there's an abandoned mansion in the middle of the Cursed Spirit Forest. That's where Sayer is located and his army of psychic Duelists. The forest may look thick, but that's just a camouflage. We'll surround the whole forest and walk by foot to infiltrate the mansion. Team Alpha, we will apprehend the grunts!"
"Yes, sir!"
"Team Beta, we will search every room and gather all the data we can find!" the first superior called.
"Yes, sir!"
"Team Delta, half of us will shield Team Beta from the psychic Duelists! The other half will wait outside as back-up!" the second superior continued.
"Yes, ma'am!"
"Team Omega, we will search for both Sayer and the superiors of Neo Arcadia Movement, and free the prisoners!" I said with the best authority voice I could.
"Yes, ma'am!" my friends called.
"Alright, everyone! Get in the vehicles and move out!" Trudge commanded.
